The 12 Week Year for Writers is a roadmap I don't want to live without. Trevor's principles keep me on track, and his supportive program helps me learn and grow as a writer. I have been a bit derailed at times for personal reasons but will not give up. The level of support goes above and beyond, and live offerings are always a treat! If you're on the fence about joining, simply join in and experience a program that provides so much helpful information and opportunity for interaction. You'll find inspiration from the best of writing coaches around! My writing routine now has direction and promise for becoming a published author, made possible because of the this fabulous program. I've gone from having no direction to creating a clear path for writing the many books I will publish. Thank you for all you do to inspire and guide writers from all walks of life!

My writing routine has been a lot better since I joined here 2 weeks ago. I think I've done more writing than I've done in the last few years.

This book is fantastic for those who want to have a system in order to become a more effective and efficient writer. Beyond giving useful tips and tricks this book excels at getting the reader to think more like a writer. The 12-week plan and model week system are things I will take with me throughout my entire career. The book is an easy read structurally, and the prose is enjoyable and practical.

I highly recommend this book to any and all writers. I often struggle with getting my writing done in a timely fashion, if at all. I love the philosophies in this book, and there is also a concrete method to follow to craft a 12-week plan for working on your writing projects. The book has clear action steps to help you formulate a plan that is specific to you and your projects. Many writers, including myself, work on projects that don't have a concrete deadline, and these projects can tend to either fall by the wayside or take longer than necessary. This book will help you deal with that. I am a screenwriter, but the book is appropriate for all types of writers - academics, novelists, bloggers, anyone at all who wants to improve their productivity at writing. If you are a writer who struggles with procrastinating or just not getting as much writing done as you would like, I cannot recommend this book more highly.

I've authored a comic with Dark Horse Comics. I've been coached by NY Times Best Selling authors, and I'm a semi-finalist for America's Next Great Author (2022). Yet none of that taught me how to actually write and make steady progress. This book completely changed how I understand myself, how to use my time effectively, and why having a reliable system matters more than any flashy tool. Over the last 13 weeks, this system has helped me consistently hit my writing goals. At first, I had too many lag and lead indicators—four was just overwhelming—but now I use just 1-3 that keep me on track. Do I write every day? No. I also spend time researching, observing, and absorbing the world around me. When I do sit down to write (3-4 days a week for 1.5-3 hours), it’s time well spent, and I actually look forward to it. This structure lets me track my progress, so I feel accomplished. I’m not perfect, and there are some weeks where I don’t write, but more often than not, I’m writing, researching, and moving forward. This system works for me for blog posts, newsletters, content writing, and fiction writing.
