Since last year, I’ve been frequently traveling to the U.S. or to Asia. With my e-SIM, I’m always connected even if my current mobile phone contract only covers data traffic for Europe. The set-up of the e-SIM in my S23 is easy. Once the e-SIM is working, I can switch the data traffic to the e-SIM and everything is fine.

My wife and I are in the US on vacation and I decided to install the AloSIM app and give it a try instead of using the Telus $14 a day roaming package. My wife was a little hesitant and stayed with the Telus Easy Roam for the time being and let me be the guinea pig. So I downloaded the Alo app and followed the instructions and purchased the 7 day 1GB data plan for $4.50, a very easy process. After using it for a couple days I have to say it works great. It's no different than the Telus Easy Roam and a lot less expensive, at $14 a day and tax on 2 phones it adds up fast. You can still make and receive calls if necessary from through your provider on your priority line and are charged at the going rate. We haven't had to make any calls yet as we just mainly text so that's good. I highly recommend this service for anyone going to travel as it's much cheaper than the other options I have seen. My cellular provider assured me I would have service as I traveled to Brazil with their international package. However, when I arrived, my sim would not work with the networks. Outstanding customer service! I easily transitioned my esim when traveling through Portugal and Spain and then back to Portugal. eSIM products have come a long way in the last couple of years but this one has a ton of advantages others don’t have - reasonable pricing, ease of use (installation and instructions), and a wide range of countries and regions supported. If you only need cellular data access and don’t want to pay the exorbitant fees from your carrier for international access then this is the service to get.

On the Costa Rica trip I bought a 3gb/30 day esim for both my spouse and I. I pre-installed the esim following aloSim installation instructions before I left home, and while in flight (in airplane mode) changed the phone settings as per aloSim instructions which I downloaded to the phone memory before leaving home. This has worked...but tends to be a bit expensive and time consuming. About a year ago I learned of Alo eSIM. Let me say that this is excellent! I was able to easily setup on phone to activate the eSIM service as soon as I arrived in Portugal. My holiday is all about walking trails often remote. Not only did my eSim work perfectly around Lisbon but, I was amazed to see that I had complete data coverage throughout very remote wooded areas of eastern Portugal. eSim is the way to go! I am a Florida snowbird from Canada. Using my Canadian cell plan in Florida is outrageously expensive. I tried a U.S. based plan with a physical sim but the signal was very weak. I found out about aloSIM so downloaded it to my iPhone 13 before I left Canada. Once I landed in Florida I switched it on at the airport using their wifi and away I went! I used a data/wifi app with a telephone number for calls or texts and this kept me completely connected for a very reasonable amount.
