I dont know what shares to buy and how to go about it. I thought it is just buying and wait for the price to go up. Wanting to get a better understanding of how the market works and not just listening to the 'noises' on social media. When I attended the Diligence Club meeting, I realised there is so much to be learned. I like BYMDP's systematic and organised approach in studying a company's financial status, it gets my brain working and thinking out of the box. The case study is a very good way to learn and understand. Having the confidence in trading and the ability to share/discuss with others. I would say 'Go for it, you wont regret it. There is a alot of value in it'.

Willie is an authentic, passionate, knowledgeable and humble teacher. I have gotten a lot of value in terms of knowledge from his course and live webinars. Particularly interesting to me is the Dividend Cycle Theory of when to buy and sell stocks.

Willie is such an inspiration for us to invest wisely and shares fundamental techqniues and soft skills (eg be patient) as he spots bargain investments for our wealth preservation and gains!

There are so many financial ratios out there but Willie had managed to distil them to a list of core critical ones over a 10 year time frame for a more meaningful analysis. Learnt what kind of companies to consider for a dividend growth portfolio, given a list of stocks to practice what I have learnt whether they are suitable or not for a dividend portfolio. The bonus modules on REITs and local banks I found particularly more appealing as they are stocks that I am already familiar with and found a more streamlined way to look at them. I found the most valuable concept learnt was to focus on compounding dividends, portfolio allocation. As a beginner, initially, I had difficulty searching for a suitable program to kickstart my stock investing learnings. After attending BYMDP Bootcamp, I found Willie's framework very comprehensive and actionable. He managed to break down learnable steps to apply fundamental analysis for stocks and SReits selection. Probably in the future, Willie can organize more sharing through a series of refresher or updated webinars for former attendees like myself to be updated on upcoming tips and learnings on investing at affordable fees.

I've always thought that fundamental analysis is very difficult without accounting background and very time consuming but Willie managed to simplify it for us to just focus on what will really have material impact and introduce how latest chatgpt and data services can help us save a lot of time. Another mental block I had was that the stock market is manipulated so fundamentals not helpful as the price is not correct reflection of the value. From Willie, I learnt that this is exactly how we can take advantage over time as the price will ultimately correct itself. Willie shared ideas on how we can do investment safely and still get good profits that I never know before. BYMDP conducted by Willie has been an amazing course. Competitively priced but bursting literally with value. He spends extra time after class to answer questions no matter how complex or simple and he makes complex analysis simple through cutting through the noise of data and his pre-programmed calculators. Before bootcamp: Convinced that I’m cursed because whatever I buy turns to @&$”]+#^+} After bootcamp: Ahh I’m not cursed, just easily hoodwinked by drivel spewed from shady financebros on Reddit and YouTube. Not Nostradamus so not sure if I’ll be able to fulfil my fantasy of retiring by 40 using this method. The seven building blocks taught by Willie has provide me a structure on what are the key things to look out for as i read companies financial statement. Very helpful in helping me screen companies financial health efficiently.

I was trying to plan for retirement, but I have no idea how to go about doing that. Willie provided a framework to help build the portfolio I wanted/needed with his building blocks, and also qualitative aspects of analyzing a company. After the bootcamp, I can at least look at a company, and decide if I would buy it or not (though I might not always be right), but it at least gives me a starting point.

The good thing about the boot camp is the explanation is clear and simple to understand. So recommend everyone who wants to understand how to invest better to join.

This bootcamp was great for people like me with barely any investment knowledge or time to get it, as it was a rapid kickstart to dividend investing. I particularly enjoyed the case studies, tools and homework (even if I had no time to do them) as it really helped me to start looking at companies with a more critical technical eye, while also including some fundamentals and macro knowledge. There were also a good variety of companies and markets, local SG, HK, US etc, so you could understand the differences and potential yields. Willie was also a great teacher, loved his tone, pace and teaching style. Always ready to take questions, did his best to show up early and stay late. Hallmarks of someone who truly enjoys teaching. Hope there are more courses like this in the future to help us noobs get more comfortable with investing.
