Is it just me, or is the real March madness this month the # of events going on? 𤣠Love to see it!
In one of his most recent posts, Jason Lemkin mentions events as one of 4 key sources for B2B marketing pipeline.
(Speaking of the marketing realm, I always send the deepest of respect for those in field and event marketing making these events happen).
Between Zendesk relate, HumanX, Enterprise Connect in Orlando this week, Support Driven Leadership Summit (where Iâm headed tomorrow), Forrester B2B Summit here in Phoenix plus TheLoops own fireside chat with Mohan Achar this Thursday, it feels like pre-sales, post sales, marketing, you name the dept, and they are everywhere, tackling AI, automation, and the future of work!
What else are you attending/following/having FOMO about event wise this month?
Chili Piperâs Chilipalooza was the big one for me that I was bummed to miss!!
Will drop the link to the Fireside chat with Mohan Achar in the comments if youâre in Support/CX and want something to attend with no airport travel required or FOMO đ

At Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza I heard lots of ways marketers use AI (repurposing, research, standardizing content). Anything that used to be a blank state â now they use AI to have a draft to work from.
It got me thinking about how at Navattic we can make a âblank stateâ moment that used to be frustrating, now delightful (of course with AI)
The #1 thing I hear from customers that is frustrating about building a demo is storyboarding their demo beforehand.
Itâs the same as writing an outline for a paper. We all know itâs important for a good end product, but nothing is more frustrating than staring at a blank page trying to come up with something.
(Before I started the product marketing role I was so guilty of not storyboarding)
We heard most marketers were often reusing copy from their homepage or product landing pages when building demos. So why not just make it easier for them to reuse that?
I previously teased our AI Storyboard Generator in beta when showing off how I build demos. It is now live on the website for anyone to try out.
The prompt is also based on best practices from 28k+ demos analyzed in our State of the Interactive Product demo report.
If you want to see what an interactive demo script would look like for your website, head over to: lnkd.in/eE93TZFe
Itâs 100% free and ungated.
Would love to hear what you think :)

Remember when marketing was just about branding and lead gen? Yeah, those days are long gone.
Iâm attending Chilipalooza in the Arizona desert (an absolutely lovely event hosted by Chili Piper), and the conversations happening between marketing and sales leaders is making one thing abundantly clearâmarketing is evolving fast.
Itâs not just about technical skills, data fluency, creativity, storytelling, or even an obsessive customer focus anymore.
In the age of AI, we need a new kind of marketerâone who can architect, automate, and optimize the entire customer journey.
Enter the â¨GTM Engineer.â¨
This isnât just another buzzword. A GTM Engineer is a marketer who:
⢠Understands and uses AI to analyze data at a deep levelânot just tracking performance but predicting behavior.
⢠Builds AI agents that optimize every touchpoint across marketing, sales, and customer success.
⢠Uses AI to learn what actually converts a customer? What prevents churn?
⢠Defines the total RELEVANT market (TRM)ânot just the biggest accounts in your ICP, but the ones that are showing intent to buy and grow with you.
This role isnât about replacing human intuitionâitâs about augmenting it with AI-driven execution.
Think about it...
What if your campaigns could dynamically adapt in real-time based on live customer intent?
What if AI could continuously refine your ICP, surfacing prospects who are primed to buy?
What if your lead scoring wasn't static, but a living thing continually optimized by your customer profiles and signals?
So what does this mean for marketers today? We need to start thinking like engineers.
Learn data science fundamentals.
Learn how to build an AI agent.
Master signal-based modeling and predictive analytics.
Build systems, not just campaigns.
This shift isnât comingâitâs already here. The best marketers wonât just execute strategies. Theyâll engineer them.
What do you think? Are we ready for the era of the GTM Engineer?

What happens when the one and only Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ decides to host a GTM Summit for leaders to talk about it growing in the age of AI, including challenges, leadership, PLG, marketing, branding, and so much more.
Well, magic happens đĽ
Thank you for a wonderful event full of insights, sharing, fun, and laughter with literally the best of the best.
My takeaways:
1. Speaking to other leaders eased my AI FOMO. Sometimes it seems like myself and my company is behind when it comes to using AI but the reality is most are still figuring it out and doing various scattered things with it, but no huge groundbreaking moments yet⌠though early signs are there đ
2. Figuring out where humans come in and where the machine takes over is probably the number one question on everyoneâs mind. Use AI too early in the sales process and you might lose the customer, you might lose trust. Use it too late and you are not as efficient or productive as you need to be. So whereâs the line đ¤
3. Got lots of ideas for new platforms I should potentially be using. Lots to experiment with đŞ
4. Real events are better than virtual ones. The ability to look each other in the eyes and open up for real is unparalleled and heartwarming đ
See you next time đ

The events landscape is evolving. While in-person conferences are making a comeback, there's a powerful shift toward something more meaningful.
Tired: events at hotel conference rooms, keynote focused, red carpet, 500-20000 attendees, lots and lots of sponsor booths.
Wired: small, on-purpose intimate events, non-traditional venues, no sponsor booths, a few or no keynotes, focus on attendee interactions.
My own Spryng conference is designed like this (next one coming up Mar 24-26 in Austin) but there are now others!
I'm a huge believer in this format. The connections I have made and the fun I have had are on another level.
Which is why I decided to go right away when Alina told me that Chili Piper putting on their version of the event called ChiliPalooza.
It's a GTM B2B retreat for executives in the Sonoran desert March 3-5, held at a luxury wellness resort.
I'm stoked about the small group discussions (and I'm moderating some).
It's an invite-only event, 130 people max. You can sign up for the waitlist here

Returning to in-person connections is effortless when brands like Chili Piper create events like Chilipalooza, which I had the opportunity to attend alongside my partner in ops, đą Andre Proulx
What made this event stand out?
It wasnât just about consuming content, I can do that from my phone anytime.
Instead, it prioritized real discussion, meaningful connection, and peer-driven learning.
- No presentations. No pitches. Just small breakouts with facilitated topics of our choice.
- Peers from across the GTM engine, suppliers, and partners, people we work with daily but rarely get to know as humans.
- A space where you couldnât (and wouldnât want to) slip away to other distractions, making every conversation more intentional.
Iâve attended so many conferences where connecting feels like an afterthoughtâwhere urban settings and packed agendas make it easy to drift in and out. But at Chilipalooza, the controlled invite size, curated moments, and immersive setting made it possible to meet more people than ever before.
I have deep respect for communities and event producers who break the mold, prioritize purpose over tradition, and create spaces where connection thrives.
Hats off to the entire ChiliPiper team and everyone I had the privilege of meeting, learning from, and truly connecting with.
This was time well spent.

Very excited to head to Arizona, thanks to the incredible Chili Piper team. I'll be moderating the session on Selling into Enterprise. Chili Piper and Twilio are two companies that recognize the value of bringing Marketing and Sales organizations together in order to build true messaging cohesion, and I'm thrilled to be a representative of the latter. If you're going to be there, please reach out.

What a great day at Chili Piperâs Chilipalooza! The format was perfect for connecting, engaging, and recharging.
So many good takeaways - diving into brand and demand, ABM & signals, AI (of course) and all the ways we can be more effective in driving growth. Being surrounded by people who truly get it is energizing. One attendee put it perfectly: âItâs nice to feel like Iâm not alone.â
Events like this remind me why I love what I do. Big thanks to the Chili Piper team for creating the space for these conversations!

You canât pour from an empty cup ... so I spent the last two-ish weeks filling mine with incredible conversations and connections.
Instead of just networking, Iâve been community-ing (shoutout to Leslie Greenwood for the perfect term). Being a little more than a year into San Diego and working remotely, itâs easy to stay in routine, but stepping out and connecting with like-minded people has been a game-changer.
Hereâs how Iâve been filling my cup lately:
⨠The Media Dinner Club: Grateful for this group of amazing women in San Diego to share dinner, stories, and support. Huge thanks to Margarita Neymark & Emily Gonzales for the warm welcome and Rita Kline for introducing me!
đ˝ Highspot's Fireside Chat & Dinner: Loved connecting over great food with RevOps, MarketingOps, and Sales Enablement pros. Thoughtful discussions, great insights - big thanks to Ellie Lyle for the invite!
đś Chili Piper Chilipalooza: A truly special event. No slide decks or keynotes, just real connections with smart people in a beautiful space. We need more of this! Thank you Chelsea Lassen, MBA & Alina Vandenberghe
âď¸ Wednesday Women Coffee: A pre-International Womenâs Day reminder of how powerful it is to support, uplift, and share with other women leaders.
Every one of these moments reinforced that relationships matter more than transactions, and Iâm so grateful for the people Iâve connected with.
Now if youâll excuse me⌠time to let my cup settle and recharge my resting battery. đ´đ

I flew from Paris to the USA for ChiliPalooza.
Not just as a moderator, but as part of the Chili Piper team.
For the past weeks, Iâve been behind the scenes, helping with the event.
I've witnessed:
â Top sponsors eager to back the event.
â A waitlist filled with people from all over the world.
â Emails and messages flooding in after we sold out.
â Attendees booking nearby hotels just to be part of it.
Now I get why. This wasnât just another conference.
It was a community of 150 people sharing strategies that worked, that didnât, and how to improve, without wasting hours on research.
The kind of insights and playbooks youâd normally pay for big bucks.
What happened at ChiliPalooza stays there, but here are some top key takeaways:
â Content Marketing & Product Marketing must align but execute separately.
â Traditional events are dead. People want real connections, not PowerPoints.
â Deals happen because of trust, not just products.
â Blogs and webinars need a strategic revamp.
â Content is shifting - quality over quantity.
â PLG and PLS are evolving together.
â People buy. Accounts donât.
P.S. If you were there, thank you! It was awesome, letâs do it again!
If you werenât, consider this your official invite (before you ask for extra tickets).

#Chilipalooza Part 1: Breaking the Breakout Session Mold + Smart Gifting at Events
Iâm kicking off a three-part review of Chilipaloozaâbecause thereâs way too much goodness to fit into one post. First up: how Chili Piper nailed breakout sessions and allowed us to connect on event strategy like gifting.
đ Iâm here in Carefree, Arizona (yes, thatâs really the name, and yes, I feel carefree), and one of the standout elements was how intentional and thoughtful their breakout sessions were.
Instead of cramming in more content, they embraced guided roundtablesâstructured yet flexible, giving attendees the chance to submit topics they actually wanted to workshop with their peers. The result? More meaningful conversations, stronger connections, and real takeaways.
This plays into a question I get a lot: At what point do you minimize sessions and instead create space for networking, collaboration, and attendee-driven discussions? The answer? More often than you think.
đĄ And letâs talk about gifting. Because a well-executed gift strategy can completely change the event experience.
â
Pre-event:
Use platforms like Reachdesk to give attendees a choice in how they prepâe.g., sending a $50 credit for sunscreen or a new bathing suit for a desert retreat like this one. A small investment, big impact.
â
During the event:
Treat your B2B attendees like influencers. A well-done room dropâwith items that help them through the week (think reusable water bottles, a hat for sun protection, or something that ties into the event theme)âmakes them feel like the star of the show.
â
Post-event:
This is where you go personal and high-end. A customized follow-up gift that acknowledges their engagement and experience with your brand leaves a lasting impression.
At the end of the day, thoughtful experiencesâboth in sessions and giftingâcreate better events. More impact, more connection, more brand love.
đĽ Stay tuned for Part 2, where Iâll be diving into ALL of the questions that came up in the event roundtable discussions!

đ Iâm here in Carefree, Arizona (yes, thatâs really the name, and yes, I feel carefree), and one of the standout elements was how intentional and thoughtful their breakout sessions were.

Forget the hypeâhereâs what event pros are ACTUALLY talking about.
#Chilipalooza Part 2.
One of my favorite takeaways from ChiliPalooza was the conversationsâreal, unfiltered discussions with people who are navigating the same event challenges I see, and my client's experience, every day.
I left feeling energized by the questions, perspectives, and ideas we exchanged. Thereâs nothing quite like talking shop with people who get it. đ
Some of the biggest topics we tackled:
đĽ What is a micro event? (And when does it make sense to go small?)
đĽ Proving event success internallyânot just tracking ROI, but getting the right people on board (aka the ones scrutinizing every penny).
đĽ Incorporating swag/gifting into your event strategy in a meaningful and intentional way (treat me like an influencer Ben Smith đ!)
đĽ Events as part of a broader strategyânot just one-off moments but long-term plays.
đĽ The role of industry events vs. owned eventsâhow trade shows set you up for a strong event calendar.
đĽ Texting vs. no texting for pre-event outreach. (Sarah Reece đĽâ¨ from Orum đĽ had a đĽ tactic: marketing cold calls to get butts in seatsâanyone want to try it?)
đĽ NPS scores & actually getting responsesâhow to make sure youâre capturing meaningful feedback.
đĽ The âunconferenceâ conceptâless structure, more collaboration, and actual breathing room. Iâm here for it (to an extent).
đĽ Budget transparencyâhow much should we really be spending on events?
đĽ Event brand guidelinesâan amazing idea shared by Kathleen Booth. This is separate from company branding, a tool to justify experiential investments (so no more âwhy did we spend X on this?â debates).
Iâll be breaking these down over the next few weeks, but drop your thoughts in the commentsâwhat do you want to tackle first?

AI is transforming sales & marketing. Keynote speeches? đŞđ˛âđżđ˛ đĄđ˘đ§ đšđ˛đŽđđśđťđ´ đđľđźđđ˛ đŻđ˛đľđśđťđą.
I'm excited to be moderating and participating at
#Chilipalooza by Chili Piper next week. Hereâs are my top 3 takes on the event:
1. AI Is Rewriting GTMâLearn How to Stay Ahead
AI is fundamentally changing how sales and marketing operate. The shift isnât just about automationâitâs about intelligent execution. Sales teams need to master AI-driven attribution, personalization, and pipeline acceleration to stay ahead - Those who integrate đđ đ˛đłđłđ˛đ°đđśđđ˛đšđ đđśđšđš đźđđđ˝đ˛đżđłđźđżđş, while others risk falling behind.
2. How Wellness Can Boost AI Productivity
Work smarter, not harder. At CIVANA, itâs about integrating wellness to drive peak performance - whether through breaks, movement, or mindful networking - is proving to enhance decision-making, creativity, and sustained focus. AI can scale efficiency, but đľđđşđŽđť đ˝đżđźđąđđ°đđśđđśđđ đđđśđšđš đťđ˛đ˛đąđ đŻđŽđšđŽđťđ°đ˛ to thrive.
3. No Keynotes â How This Drives Immediate Execution
Traditional events often leave attendees inspired but without execution plans, drowning in vague insights. Without the distraction of staged presentations, the focus moves from passive listening to active problem-solvingâwhere đđđżđŽđđ˛đ´đśđ˛đ đŽđżđ˛ đŻđđśđšđ đśđť đżđ˛đŽđš đđśđşđ˛, đżđ˛đŽđąđ đđź đśđşđ˝đšđ˛đşđ˛đťđ đśđşđşđ˛đąđśđŽđđ˛đšđ.
4. Learning from the Best and Proven GTM Leaders
Success in GTM isnât just about strategiesâitâs about learning from those who have been in the trenches and built scalable growth engines. The best part is - đđťđąđđđđżđ đšđ˛đŽđąđ˛đżđ đđľđŽđżđ˛ đđľđ˛đśđż đżđ˛đŽđš-đđźđżđšđą đ˝đšđŽđđŻđźđźđ¸đâno theory, just whatâs actually working.

Some thoughts and Takeaways from

When you get a room full of GTM leaders talking about AI, sales, and growth, you expect big insights. But what really stood out to me?
The conversations werenât just about AI itselfâthey were about how we, as leaders, are choosing to use it. Here are a few things that stuck with me:
đđ đśđ đżđ˛đ˝đšđŽđ°đśđťđ´ đźđťđšđ đ˛đłđłđźđżđ đŽđťđą đđźđżđ¸ âđŽđťđą đđľđŽđâđ đŽ đ´đźđźđą đđľđśđťđ´.
The best teams arenât using AI to just automate tasks. Theyâre thinking strategicallyâwhat work actually needs a human touch, and what doesnât? The shift is happening, and itâs freeing people up to focus on what really drives results.
đŚđŽđšđ˛đ đžđđŽđšđśđłđśđ°đŽđđśđźđť đśđ đ°đľđŽđťđ´đśđťđ´ - đđ˛đżđ đłđŽđđ đśđťđđź đđ´đ˛đťđđśđ° đ¤đđŽđšđśđłđśđ°đŽđđśđźđťđ.
Weâve spent years tracking MQLs and SQLs, but AI is pushing us into a new way of thinking. Instead of long qualification processes, AI is helping buyers self-qualify early, so by the time they talk to a salesperson, they already know what they need.
đđŽđżđšđ đđź đđ, đđżđŽđąđ˛ đđźđđż đ§đżđđđ; đšđŽđđ˛ đđź đđ, đ˛đ
đ˝đżđśđ˛đťđ°đ˛ đťđź đśđşđ˝đŽđ°đ.
This was one of the biggest discussionsâwhere does AI fit into the sales process? If you hand everything off to AI too soon, you risk losing the human connection. But if you wait too long, youâre not moving as fast as your competitors. Finding the right balance is the key.
đđ đđźđťâđ đżđ˛đ˝đšđŽđ°đ˛ đ´đżđ˛đŽđ đđŽđšđ˛đđ˝đ˛đźđ˝đšđ˛âđśđ đđśđšđš đşđŽđ¸đ˛ đđľđ˛đş đŻđ˛đđđ˛đż.
The future isnât AI vs. humans. Itâs AI with humans. The best teams are figuring out where to let AI handle the heavy lifting and where to step in to build relationships, solve problems, and close deals.
đđť-đ˝đ˛đżđđźđť đ°đźđťđđ˛đżđđŽđđśđźđťđ đşđŽđđđ˛đż đşđźđżđ˛ đđľđŽđť đ˛đđ˛đż.
As AI takes over more digital interactions, real human connections become even more valuable. Being in the same room, having unscripted conversations, and sharing ideas face-to-faceâthereâs no replacement for that.
Iâll share more thoughts on the incredible Passionate people I met at Chilipalooza and about AIOps role soon, but for now, one thing is clear:
đđ đśđ đľđ˛đżđ˛, đŽđťđą đđľđ˛ đšđ˛đŽđąđ˛đżđ đđľđź đšđ˛đŽđżđť đľđźđ đđź đđđ˛ đśđ đđśđđ˛đšđ đđśđšđš đŻđ˛ đđľđ˛ đźđťđ˛đ đđľđź đđśđť.

From my conversations with leaders across companies, hereâs a simple, step-by-step approach to making AI work:

Not all automation is useful. Focus on tasks that:
⢠Deliver a big impact
⢠Have clear processes
⢠Take little human effort but still consume time
For example, automating data entry, sales forecasting, or customer support triage can free up teams for more strategic work.

Many tools already have AI features. Before adding new tools, ask:
⢠What AI capabilities do they already have?
⢠Are they delivering measurable value?
⢠Can they integrate with other tools for a smarter system?
This helps eliminate redundant AI and simplifies your tech stack.

Once you know what to automate and which tools to use, you need a central leader. This person:
⢠Works across departments
⢠Translates leadershipâs strategy into AI workflows
⢠Ensures AI is integrated, not siloed
đđźđ°đđ đ§đśđ˝:
Experiment a lot with AI readily available from the existing tool stack. These learnings can drive more internal conversation to easily identify and agentify workflows.

We're making big event bets in 2025.
Here are the top 3:
1. Exclusive (and sought after) swag
We're making swag cool again. The kind of stuff that people want to actually use and not just shove it in their desk drawers.
Our Product Marketer Affirmation cards and 3D holographic stickers seem to be a hit!
These are items you cannot just pick up at any store - they're exclusive and are a meaningful way for event attendees to take our brand home.
2. Unique brand activations
In 2024, we had a variety of brand activations:
âŞď¸ Played party games (Affirmations Shuffle)
âŞď¸ Gave away physical trophies and a Paris trip (Demo Dundies) and
âŞď¸ Drove around our demo quiz truck (Exit Five's Drive).
In 2025, you'll see us:
âŞď¸ Run a cute coffee bar (complete with latte art!) at Wynter's Spryng
âŞď¸ Make a debut with sports swag at Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza
âŞď¸ Moonlight as bartenders at ARRtist Circus and
âŞď¸ Give interactive demos a 2-minute makeover at Product Marketing Summit.
3. Treating major product releases as events
Last year, we launched Demo Hub. It was the first time we treated a product release as a major event.
We sent out swag boxes with mystery notes, partnered with influencers, and had a live launch too.
Next week, we're releasing something that the demo automation category has never seen before. And you'll see the event playbook unfold there too - make sure you keep an eye out!
What event bets are you making in 2025?

Just finished 2 days at Chilipalooza moderating AI implementation sessions with GTM C-suite execs ($50M-$1B+ ARR).
10 surprising insights I discovered:
1) Companies need dedicated AI Coordinators - one person who works across GTM departments and with the CFO to own AI implementation org-wide. Must be senior-level with GTM background plus technical and latest AI knowledge (think GTM engineer or Senior Director of AI Implementation).
2) Inbound SDR role is dead. The function has shifted to PMMs who leverage interactive demos (Storylane is big here with Lily - feel like Agent Qualified Leads is real now). Today's buyers want self-education and qualification while sellers automate early-stage buyer education so they focus their time on advanced stage deals.
3) Want to measure AI impact? A lot of GTM leaders are tracking these 4 things: headcount efficiency, speed to close, speed to launch, and seller time savings. These metrics show real ROI.
4) The AI workflow integration gap is massive. Most companies have individual employees using ChatGPT/Claude independently rather than embedding AI into team processes and workflows which leads different AI implementation levels in our teams.
5) Forward-thinking orgs are setting AI-specific OKRs. Some track employee prompting volume via ChatGPT Enterprise, others implement self-reporting systems. Measurement drives adoption.
6) Scaling AI from 40 to 1000+ employees creates exponential challenges: security sign-offs, privacy concerns, personalization at scale, and significant costs become major hurdles.
7) Finding good AI tools (not LLMs) remains difficult. Most successful discoveries happen through peer-to-peer conversations rather than formal channels or vendor pitches.
8) Small companies consistently outpace larger ones in AI implementation speed. Enterprise leaders whoâre succeeding are learning from smaller, more agile organizations. Sometimes you need to slow down to speed up.
9) The product vs. process gap in AI is stark: teams rate themselves 7-8/10 for AI adoption in products but only 2-3/10 for internal team processes and strategy implementation.
10) Reality check: most companies are at 2-3/10 in overall AI adoption. If you're actively working on AI implementation, you're already in the top 5% globally (your LinkedIn feed creates a false impression - you're not behind, you're ahead).
Lots to think about as I go back home. Thank you for organising this one of a kind event Chili Piper and great meeting everybody (too many to tag but you know who you are).

I kid you not. Last week, a bunch of perfect fit ICPs at Chilipalooza told me they discovered Storylane through our rap video.
If you haven't seen it, it's our Post Malone-style track about demo software.
(This is what happens when marketing gets creative freedom)
The song explains how old-school demos waste everyone's time while Storylane lets buyers explore products on their own terms, gives champions tools to sell internally, and lets you customize everything - all leading to faster closes and bigger deals.
I actually wrote most of the lyrics myself. Let me share them with you:
----
(Verse 1)
Traditional sellers grind, demos on loop,
Thirty minutes in, the prospect's aloof.
"Where's that button? What's this screen do?"
While deals slip away â sound familiar to you?
(Chorus)
Storylane steps up, changes the game,
Modern sellers save time, no two demos the same!
Buyers come ready, past the basics and bored,
When they hop on a call, they're ready to score!
(Verse 2)
Traditional sellers pray the champion sells,
But hope's no strategy â it never gels.
Teams lose the vision, the deal falls flat,
And the pipeline fades â who wants that?
(Chorus)
Storylane's here, demos that stick,
Modern sellers close deals, faster and slick!
Champions share it, teams catch the play,
Decision-makers buy in right away!
(Verse 3)
Prospects yawning, 8 AM dread,
"Show me a demo, skip the fluff instead."
Need their logo? Data? It's breaking through,
"Sorry, it's glitching" â sound familiar to you?
(Chorus)
Storylane's live, makes it pop,
Modern sellers hit the top!
Logos, charts, tailored on cue,
Every demo polished, flawless, and true!
(Bridge)
The prospect's now fawning, follow-up booked,
Partnership's forming â they're already hooked.
Storylane custom, with their logo displayed,
Shortened the cycle and deals got paid!
(Outro)
Traditional sellers grind, wasting time,
Modern sellers thrive â that's Storylane's prime.
From demos to deals, takin' the reign,
Every close forward â yeah, that's Storylane!
(AI Agent Rap)
The AI's live, on-call, on cue,
Answers questions like a pro would do.
No fluff, no wait, just deals in check,
Modern seller's edge â what'd you expect?
Storylane powers the lane you gain,
AI's got your back â that's Storylane!

My LinkedIn feed is coming to life in the desert next month.
5 reasons I'm counting down to ChiliPalooza next month:
1/ No boring keynotes đ
For once, we're ditching the stage and putting 140+ GTM leaders in the same room to actually talk about what's working. Real conversations about AI-led GTM playbooks and B2B marketing plays that aren't talked about on LinkedIn.
2/ The desert hits different đľ
CIVANA isn't your standard conference hotel. We're talking luxury wellness resort. Between sessions, you're either getting a massage, hiking trails, or having poolside strategy talks. I can't wait!
3/ The C-level attendee lineup is my LinkedIn feed IRL
Emily Kramer, Vin Matano đ, Scott Martinis, Morgan J Ingram, Daniel J. Murphy, Peep Laja, Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸, Kevin "KD" Dorsey... and that's just the start. Actual operators, zero fluff.
4/ At Storylane, we're planning a bunch of cool activations - tennis, hiking, and other fitness activities at the conference. No awkward dance of avoiding eye contact with Storylane booth staff. None of that. There is no booth. It's just Ajay and I looking to share notes on what's working/not working and learnings.
5/ Real connections > LI connection requests
Instead of speed dating with your LinkedIn connect QR code open, we're spending 3 days actually getting to know each other in the most chill set up. The kind of conversations that turn into real partnerships and friendships.
Don't miss Chilipalooza. This event will be all over your LinkedIn feed when done. It's about to sell out. Apply to be a part of it (link in comments).
Speaking of which... we're covering EVERYTHING for 2 Storylane customers to come attend Chilipalooza:
- Full ticket ($2,300)
- Flights
- Hotel
- Food
Must be: C-level, current Storylane customer, growth plan or above.
DM me if that's you.

Iâm still digesting brisket from Texas, and now Iâm heading straight into the fire. đśď¸đĽ
Austin was a weekend of smoky BBQ, big ideas, and even bigger in-person connections at the CMO Coffee Talk MeatUp 2.0âand now, Iâm swapping beef for heat and diving into the spiciest gathering in GTM:
#ChiliPalooza.
The Chili Piper team has been cooking up something special in the desert, and I canât wait to see whatâs on the menu. A little heat, a little strategy, and a whole lot of the kind of people who donât just talk about making things happenâthey do it.
And if youâre thinking, Wait⌠what is ChiliPalooza and why wasnât I invited?âtrust me, I had the same reaction when I first heard about it. But here we are, and Iâm bringing you along for the ride.
Because this isnât just an eventâitâs proof that proximity matters. That the best connections donât just happen in a Slack thread or in the comments section on LinkedIn. That showing up in real life changes everything.
And if youâre looking for me? Just scan the crowd for the guy in yellow, grinning like he just won the lottery, probably deep in conversationâor handing out
#opentohelp hugs like theyâre the hottest currency in the desert.
I believe strongly in the power of a hug. A shared meal. A real conversation that sparks something bigger. Joy is a branding strategy. And human connection is the ultimate growth hack.
Huge thanks to Chelsea, Alina and the rest of the Chili Piper team for making this magic happen!
See you in the desert đśď¸ đ

The best part of marketing isnât the campaigns. Itâs the humans.
This weekend, Iâm in
#Austin with my good CMO Coffee Talk pals, eating obscene amounts of BBQ, swapping war stories, and provingâfor the second straight yearâthat the best conversations donât happen in boardrooms. They happen over brisket.
No keynotes. No forced networking. No post-panel pleasantries. Just a group of world-class marketering leaders connecting deeply, debating strategy, and inhaling unreasonable amounts of smoked meat.
Yesterday we started at La Barbecue (Michelin-starred, because we have standards). Then made our pilgrimage to Leroy & Lewis (also Michelin-started)âa place where the smoke is thick, the hospitality is real, and the only thing better than the pulled pork was the company.
Today? We road-tripped to Lockhart, TX the self-proclaimed BBQ capital of the world, to settle the great debate: Barbâs, Blackâs, Smittyâs, or Kreuz? (Spoiler: There was no winnerâŚ.only full bellies and happy hearts.)
Between bites, we talked about brand trust, customer experience, and why LinkedIn posts either soar or sink. And, at some point, someone probably pitched a BBQ SaaS startup or two.
Tomorrow morming, weâll all learn from a Michelin-starred pitmaster at Interstellar BBQâruining all future brisket forever. đŤŁđĽ
Hereâs what I know for sure:
Work will always be there. The next deal. The next campaign. The next big push.
But moments like these? The real moments? You have to choose them.
So if thereâs a trip youâve been meaning to take, a friend youâve been meaning to catch up with, or a group of brilliant humans youâve been meaning to meet in real lifeâjust go.
The inbox will wait. The memories wonât.
Thanks for the laughs and the memories, CMO Coffee Talk Meat Up pals!! đ
Your pal đĽ,
Pete
PS - Tomorrow night? Iâm off to Phoenix for Chili Piperâs ChiliPaloozaâbecause, if you think Iâm done eating and making pals, you clearly donât know me well enough yet. Stay tuned for more! đ

I went to the desert, and all I got was a renewed faith in humanity.
(And maybe a mild sunburn. And an existential craving for quinoa cookies. And a strong opinion on which cold plunge or sauna is best for closing deals. And mostly faith in humanity.)
#ChiliPalooza wasnât a conference. Conferences have booths and PowerPoints and people pretending to check emails while secretly scrolling LinkedIn.
This was something else altogether.
No keynote stages. No sponsor booths. No forced small talk about âHowâs Q1 pipeline looking for you?â
Just 150-ish wildly smart, unreasonably generous humans curated in a setting designed for connection. And I donât mean surface-level networkingâI mean real, messy, human-to-human connection.
đśď¸ Conversations that completely rewired my thinking
đśď¸ Walks that turned new pals into future collaborators
đśď¸ Dinners that felt more like reunions, even with people Iâd just met
đśď¸ A spa with cold plunges and steam rooms that somehow became the site of impromptu strategic breakout sessions
Sure, the GTM debates were spicy. And all the AI talk was great. And the hikes and scenery were inspiring.
AND.
The biggest reminder for me was that AI may/will replace a lot of thingsâANDâit can't replace what makes us human....itâll make whatâs human even more valuable and sought after.
The best ideas show up unannounced when youâre half-delirious from deep conversation and a little too much time in the sauna.
The best relationships start over natural, healthy food that nourishes the stomach AND the mind.
And the best events truly are measured in moments that matter.
Congratulations and heartfelt gratitude to Alina, Nicolas, and the entire Chili Piper team for proving that the future of events isnât biggerâitâs BETTER; Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ for pulling off something amazing most event marketers only dream about; and Daniel Cmejla for effortlessly keeping us on schedule, in the right rooms, and in good humor.
And to every single human who made this feel, well, human đ
Thereâs not a single AI model on earth that could have manufactured what happened in those three days in the desert.
Want to get ahead in GTM in 2025?
â
Get in the rooms where the right people are
â
Say "hell yes!" to the invite
â
Make the time
At the end of the day, the human-to-human connection is EVERYTHING.
I can confidently say that these three days changed me in immeasurable ways for the better.
If youâre ever looking for me? Iâll be the one unapologetically in yellow, likely with a goofy grin on my face, definitely
#opentohelp, and absolutely chasing more moments like these.

Biggest takeaways from ChiliPalooza:
1. I learned more about AI in three short round table discussions than webinar after webinar all year long. Truly canât beat real people sharing real stories and conferences do NOT need to be exhausting session after session, booth after booth experiences to learn a ton. Loved the format Chili Piper!
2. Partnership goes way beyond platforms. Reachdesk, Alex Olley and Ben Smith đ: THANK YOU for hosting us and putting faces to the names behind our partnership.
3. Kevin "KD" Dorsey is on an entirely different level when it comes to utilizing AI to push his teams forward. Favorite conversation by far đ¤Ż
4. The desert is beautiful and I saw a bobcat đľ

February was Singulateâs most active month to date.
Hereâs what happened in February:
⨠Our early users continued seeing the âSingulate Effectâ â 3-7X higher CTRs over âblastâ content with enormous time savings in hours of ops work and data strategy to do deep segmentation and content personalization (really helpful for growth experiments).
𦾠Released Automation Templates, the ability to re-use any previous segmentation and personalization strategy in 1 click: Time-saving for creating hyper-targeted emails and automation workflows.
đ Deepened our HubSpot integration. Singulate uses ALL the data you have in HubSpot, works seamlessly with Campaigns and automated Workflows, and keeps your analytics data and reporting in HubSpot.
âď¸ Hosted our second AI copywriter training session (lots of passion for what weâre building and learning how to âsingulateâ content).
đ§ Launched a Knowledge Base with guides, strategies and swipe files for prompts and learning how to use Singulate.
This month, weâre releasing a huge feature, one that will clearly and definitively set Singulate apart from AI cold outreach tools, and anchor us as a MOFU/BOFU marketing automation / lifecycle growth tool. Sign up on our list to find out.
We still have a lot of work to do (donât look at our website đŤŁ), but itâs exciting to see things come together.
If youâre a marketer using HubSpot, and looking to properly leverage the data you already have, to increase funnel growth, you should get a demo of Singulate. Weâve got a free Pilot program you can try.
More updates coming soon.
Hereâs to a great March.

Feeling inspired. Feeling loved.
This past week in Phoenix, courtesy of Chili Piper was one for the ages.
Itâs how to run a conference. Thanks for the invite Daniel Cmejla, Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ and Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ.
What an incredible turnout with conversations that Iâll remember forever.

When I first told my wife I wanted to fly to Arizona to go to ChiliPalooza, her first reaction was:
âOnly if you take me.â
I looked at her quizzingly and said, âI'm sure you can come, if you want? Itâll be a bunch of Sales Leaders and Marketers networking by the pool, hiking and playing pickleball though.â
After a bit of back and forth, soon it became apparent that my lovely wife thought I was referring to a Red Hot Chili Peppers festival in the desert.
And I said, âI mean, itâs not quite that. But itâs also not far off.â
Either way, Iâm heading to the desert on Monday for 3 days to hang out with some of my favorite people in the GTM community, hosted by my lovely friends at Chili Piper.
Couldnât be more excited.
I cannot confirm nor deny if Flea and Will Ferrell will be in attendance.

#ChiliPalooza started yesterday, and weâre ready for an event thatâs anything but ordinary!
140+ GTM leaders came together for real, attendee-driven conversations on the future of partnerships, sales, and beyond.
We believe the best ideas come from open collaboration â so weâre here to listen, learn, and share how partner ecosystems are transforming revenue growth.
If you're in Carefree, AZ, make sure you connect and talk shop (or just enjoy the sunshine together âď¸) with Erin Stanwood Bates and Jess Rowe. See you there!

Had an incredible time out in the Arizona Desert this week. The cacti đľ reminded me of PowerDialing. Strong, single line calls with reputation monitoring spikes to defend against spam and connect you firmly and reliably with your goals!
The Chili Piper show out in the desert was phenomenal.
Connected with customers, partners, new partners and made many new friends!
The format allowed for intimate conversations, often focused on holistic funnel healing. Something we preach and teach at Orum đĽ!
Thank you, Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ , Daniel Cmejla and Hamish Stephenson đŚ for the invitation!

Just left a breakout around AI personalization @ Chili Piper's Chilipalooza.
A big topic was how do we optimize to appear in AI search, is it the same way we treat SEO?
I decided to run a *very* egocentric search with ChatGPT.
Prompt: Who are the top ABM professional to follow on LinkedIn?
Thankfully, your girl appeared. (phew)
Second prompt: Can ypou site your sources? How did you prioritze them?
This is where it get's interesting.
It's not removing the black box entirely, but it does support the idea that not only is it the type of content that matters, it's where that content lives.
The foundations of effective marketing still applies to AI.
And it's not always going to deliver instantaneous results.
It's years of showing up with helpful, relevant content where your audience lives and breaths it.
Give it a try, show me what ChatGPT comes back with.

It almost always comes down to one or two signals.
We track and evaluate hundreds of signals, but time and time again, I find that it's often just a few that drive significant business impact.
This is how I kicked off moderating the Signal-based Marketing & Sales breakout at Chili Piperâs inaugural Chilipaloozaâbecause I wanted to get right down to brass tax with these leaders:
What's working (the specifics)
What's not (the roadblocks)
And next steps we could all take back to our teams (action)
Here's what we found:
Not all signals are created equal: Too many teams measure everything instead of focusing on the few signals that actually lead to booked meetings and progress pipeline
The total relevant market > the total addressable market: The best programs donât just target anyone who could buyâthey prioritize accounts based on timing, buying intent, and revenue potential
Internal marketing is just as important as external marketing: Sales enablement isnât just a ânice to haveââitâs the difference between a campaign that collects dust and one that actually gets used to close deals
Don't just tier for the sake of it: Your high-revenue potential accounts should get high-touch plays. Lower-revenue potential accounts? They still matter. But they might be better suited for scalable motionsâthink industry-based plays, competitor win-backs, or pain point clusters (if you want to hear how I'm running these campaigns right now, DM me)
Everyone walked away with ideas on how to align cross-functionally, how to evaluate the signals that mattered most in closed-won deals and new ways to identify your audience that hasn't yet converted (this ended up being a heavy content focus chat with a theme around how to leverage your own proprietary data to build long-form heavy hitting content)
What would you have added to the chat? đ
___
p.s. I kindly request all breakout sessions come with this kind of view. đľ

As I head to the Airport for my 7th cross country flight of 2025, I am reflecting on the awesomeness that was last week.
Namely the two awesome conferences I attended alongside an incredible weekend with the family!
First a huge shout out to my booth Buddy Matt Drum who helped me seize both days at Salesforce Trailblazer DX.
Next to Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸, Nicolas Vandenberghe,Anthony Kapitanski, Daniel Cmejla, Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ and the whole Chili Piper crew for the incredible Chilipalooza in the desert.
It was amazing hanging with everyone, from my flight out with an incredible crew: đ° Jen Igartua, Hamish Stephenson đŚ, David Walker, Matt Braley and Marc Perroni
Or our star turn as professional pickle ballers with Morgan J Ingram, Drew Giovannoli đ Sarah Sehgal and âď¸ Cliff Simon
I learned so much talking to incredible leaders like Trinity Nguyenđ, Trent Allen đ, Rahil J., Tobias Muellner, Steven Perini, Amanda Bell, đ Don Otvos, among countless others over the week.
But finally I am most grateful for the time I got to spend with my family. The nearly endless games played with my daughter and precious together time spent with my incredible wife Jocelyn McArthur whose work schedule has been insane lately as well. The fact that all the balls are still in the air is incredible!
Now letâs go close out this Quarter!

On my way to Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza in the desert!
Looking forward to connecting with other weird Revenue / Demand Gen folks - and I already see a few familiar faces from Exit Five's Drive conference last Fall.
P.S. There's something about a 5 hour flight with great WiFi... I get my best hunker down work done with no distractions. Ready to put the laptop away and focus on learning for a few days.

Super excited to head to Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza in March! Especially after finding out my good pals đĽ Tom Slocum and Alexis Rivera Scott will be there đĽ°
The lineup is amazing with executives at Reddit, G2, Gong and so many more.
I'll be joining the round tables about AI Agents for 10x efficiency in sales and marketing, Sales fundamentals in a sea of AI generated bots, ABM at scale, Outbound led marketing and community growth.
Know any cool marketers? Tell them to come learn with us (and hang out by the pool đ)

Your vibe attracts your tribe.
I am very introverted. Small talk is my kryptonite.
So going to an event where I know no one can be pretty awkward (okay, a lotta awkward).
But last night, I was adopted by Lindsay O'Brien and had the best time talking with her, Korina Edwards, Claudia Ring, Regina (Magaril) Baumgartner, and Trinity Nguyenđ.
Turns out, when you create an event that is about the experience and meaningful connections, you really don't have to make much small talk.
Instead, we jumped right into discovering our similarities (3 of us are Pittsburghers originally, 3 of us vegetarians, most of us working moms), but also about our careers and the challenges we face.
It's not hard to connect when you're in good company.
Thank you Lindsay O'Brien for having all the vibes to bring us together, and to the Chili Piper events team for creating a space for us all to feel comfortable and share our experiences.

Feel very thankful to be at Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza this week where the theme is all about taking some time to recharge (and that I got to see Kyle Lacy here)
So felt very appropriate to share this clip about burnout from my chat with Kyle on Revenue Diaries.
My biggest "hack" is really just exercise and sleep
Some other things we chatted about:
- How to help not just yourself but your team avoid burnout
- How I learned these skills from both of my parents (a business leader and a teacher)
- Why I'm drawn to the stress and uncertainty of startups (but also why it's ok if that's not your thing)
Listen to the whole talk on the latest episode of the Revenue Diaries.

My expectations and ideas for future events have completely changed thanks to the magic ⨠that Chili Piper created at
#Chilipalooza.
- No keynotes
- No booths
- Only 3 breakout sessions for a 3 day event, and they were curated groups to enable connection and great conversation
- Time to relax, get energized and be active, as well as get fueled by amazing and healthy food
You could feel the intentional and well thought out decisions made by the Chili Piper team throughout the entire event.
Thank you for upping the bar.
Thank you for including me.
And thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet and connect with so many amazing people (including my high school friend, Emily Kramer!) đđť

24 hours in and itâs already been incredible hearing and learning from so many of the brightest GTM leaders.
Thereâs certainly no shortage of new friends and connections so far. A testament to my guy Hamish Stephenson đŚ who is always driving so many meaningful relationships.

When you run a business, itâs easy to deprioritize your own growth.
Thereâs always a prospect email to answer.
Always a client request that needs immediate attention.
Always another marketing play to execute.
Thereâs essentially no immediate consequence if I donât sharpen my skills, rethink my strategy, or invest in learning from the best.
I said yes to ChiliPalooza for myself, not Lujic Group LLC. And WOW- this has been the most energizing and satisfying conference experience Iâve ever had.
â
Sessions that actually translate into action. (Not just a flood of "good ideas" with no clear next steps.)
â
A community that feels like a room full of friends, not just "networking opportunities."
â
An experience designed to fuel, not drain, attendees. (Props to Chelsea and the Chili Piper team- you nailed it.)
Iâm walking away with three clear action items that will immediately impact my agencyâs clients and new connections that will challenge me.
If youâre a founder or consultant constantly prioritizing client work over your own development- this is your sign to change that.
đ Now, excuse me while I go meet some new friends at the on-site spa.

Thatâs me.
And those people? Theyâre SaaS giants.
This week, I made a wild decision: traveling solo to an event in the middle of the Arizona desert.
Chilipalooza brought together 150+ GTM leaders to share high-level strategies, and I wanted to get in.
At first, I felt like an outsider.
Then something shifted.
When I spoke, people took notes.
They asked for my workflows.
They DMâd me for strategies.
Thatâs when I realized: the only thing separating âthemâ from âmeâ was experience, and Iâm building mine every day.
So hereâs my next move.
Iâll be writing weekly about Product-Led Growth: acquisition, retention, monetization.
0% fluff, 100% value.
If thatâs your focus, stick around.
PS: thanks Roxana Irimia for the opportunity, it was huge đď¸đŤś

Team let's go! đ¤ Beats, lasers and 1 question:
'Are you a software engineer?'
4 weeks ago; I was attending an Eric Prydz concert and wasn't expecting this question when I was in line to enter the dance area.
'Nah mate, I am in sales, how about you?'.
This guy: 'Me too, where do you work and what do you do?'
'Leapsome, Chief of Staff'
'I'll find you...' Beats became loud and we entered the floor.
Great concert, I didn't think of this 30-second conversation anymore.
3 weeks ago; Hamish Stephenson đŚ, pops up in my DM. Talking about committing to your promises. Hats off!đ And some nice reversed psychology there đ
6 days ago; we went for a drink. Great conversation about everything and he introduced me to Chili Palooza hosted by Chili Piper đśď¸
Right now; I am boarding my plane to Phoenix, Arizona. Excited for the coming 3 days, getting inspired, meeting new people and some dessert đľ

I had the privilege of joining other top voices in the industry at Chili Piper 's last week event.
While many have shared their experiences, I wanted to highlight something that truly resonated with me on a personal level: the thoughtful approach to food.
For the first time at a conference, I didn't feel bloated throughout the day,
thanks to the carefully curated options that were both delicious and mindful of dietary needs. As someone who is very intentional about their well-being, being able to stay fully present in complex conversations is crucial for me.
It's not just about the words we exchange; it's about the energy and focus we bring to those discussions. And this can only happen when we nourish our bodies properly.
I think what struck me most was how this attention to detail reflected a deeper understanding of what it means to truly care for the attendees. It wasn't just about providing food; it was about creating an environment where everyone could thrive. I believe it's no coincidence that the discussions I was part of were more engaging than usual.
There was a sense of clarity and connection that I've rarely experienced at events. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ Daniel Cmejla and Nicolas Vandenberghe for truly taking care of both the minds and bodies of the attendees. It was a refreshing experience, and it's a testament to the power of thoughtful planning in creating meaningful connections. Thank you again for an unforgettable experience!

People, most of your events leave me feeling drained, with no gain other than a few handshakes and a cold, which I then pass on to my kids.
And they are boring.
Booths with boring designs and ineffective messaging.
Happy hours where I'm pitched by the same person from the boring booth.
Panels with the same content from 2004.
Keynotes delivered with the energy of a sloth.
This is not the way.
I was pleasantly surprised when Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ and Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ asked me to hang out at Chili Piper's ChiliPalooza.
No surprise that they are flipping the script on the B2B event.
No sloth-y keynotes, just real conversations with peers.
AND activities (spa, hiking, tennis) to make connections beyond this wonderful site.
AND itâs all happening at CIVANA, a luxury wellness resort in the Sonoran Desert.
But let's be honest... I'm really going to hang with my friends.. Adam Robinson, Marino Fresch, Kathleen Booth, Peep Laja, Kevin "KD" Dorsey, Daniel J. Murphy, Madhav Bhandari, Alex Olley, Tara Robertson, đą Allison Munro, Natalie Marcotullio

Just got back from Chilipalooza (by Chili Piper) in Arizona, and Iâm reminded of something we all know but sometimes forget: in-person events matter.
Meeting people Iâve only seen on Zoom, talking with practitioners, and spending time with peers... thereâs no damn substitute. You can build relationships online, but real conversations happen in person.
Problems are solved. Therapy sessions are had. And above all, we have fun.
Thank you to Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ and Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ for inviting me and for putting together a great event.
Also, thanks to Daniel J. Murphy for hosting a workout and brunch the day before for the Exit Five. It was great fun.
If youâre debating whether to attend something in person this year, go. Itâs worth it.
Best of all, I had the opportunity to meet a good friend, Robin Daniels, for the first time after knowing each other for over FIVE years.
That's worth it's weight in time and gold.

Well, FOMO got the best of me. Next week, I'm not going to one but TWO conferences!
#Chilipalooza looks so cool I couldn't resist. Cannot wait to see what Chili Piper has pulled off this time.
And of course, I couldn't miss a chance to say hi to my Salesforce family so, heading to
#TDX on Wednesday!
đŁ Roll call - Who's going?

I am a full believer that experiences cement relationships.
Conferences where you shuffle from session to session, rush to a happy hour and the dinner isnât really a⌠bonding experience.
And if you know me, you know I stand by - people do business with people. So, it has always been baffling to me that we fly all over the country to âdo businessâ and the human element has been stripped from our events.
This week I was one of the lucky 150 that got to experience
#Chilipalooza.
Hereâs what made it great:
đśď¸The intention. We started the week with a toast from Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ with her wishes for the week which included intentional networking, the goal of leaving with friends and, of course learning. Everyone embodied this and went forward.
đśď¸The conversations. There were no keynotes. There was peer to peer discussions on relevant topics where everyone had a seat at the table and was able to workshop or ask questions. Not be spoken at.
đśď¸Play. We all spent the afternoon hiking, playing pickleball or even getting a massage. I had the pleasure of getting to know Dave Schools Allyson Havener and John Johansen - and guess what - âremember the time we hiked in the desert?â Has a lot better ring than remember that time we saw a keynoteâŚ
đśď¸Location. Of course Iâd be remiss not to mention the beautiful resort in the desert â¨
The future of events is human and Chili Piper did a wonderful job. Hats off to the whole team! Im grateful for each new friend made (LinkedIn wonât let me tag 150 people. Rude.)

Let the record show that my first night away from my 3-month-old baby was at
#ChiliPalooza.
Why did I go? (Besides the chance for some uninterrupted sleep.)
- format: small, curated, peer-to-peer conversations and lots of opportunities for networking
- content: GTM focused with an AI lens
- experience: desert wellness resort, lots of breaks, and options for massage/pickleball/yoga/hikes
- and the people.
To wit:
đ¤ hugging the ones I already know and love: Palmer Houchins, Sam Yarborough, âď¸ Cliff Simon, Erin Stanwood Bates, Jess Rowe, and Cory Snyder
đ¤ talking about stuff I care about with people who care just as much: events with Kathleen Booth, Steph Pennell, Sarah Reece đĽ, and Madeline Mack; and partnerships with James Kaikis, Nick V., Andy Markle and more people than LinkedIn will let me tag
đŻââď¸ and meeting new ones I can call on for advice, insight, or a little inspiration: Brandon Sizemore, Alexis Rivera Scott, Ben Smith đ, Lauren Bailey, Angela (Scanlan) Salazar, Morgan J Ingram, and Pete Vomocil đ¸
Thank you Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸, Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ, and the whole Chili Piper team for having me as a moderator and creating such a memorable time among the cacti. đľ

I took advantage of my manager's misfortune.
Kelly Cheng was supposed to attend Chili Piper's Chilipalooza this week, but when she got sick, I was fortunately able to step in. (p.s. thanks to Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ for handling the logistics đ)
This event was designed around small breakout sessions, and I got to take part in 3 wonderful conversations about AI, brand, and demand.
A clear theme emerged from each conversation.
Product marketing isn't just a function. It's the foundation.
And as a product marketer, I'm not surprised by this, although I was surprised that most conversations led back to this in a room full of demand and revenue marketers.
It wasn't always specifically referred to as "product marketing", but the signs were all there.
Every conversation circled around:
âĄď¸ Target market (TAM)
âĄď¸ ICP
âĄď¸ Competitive insight
âĄď¸ Relevant, targeted messaging
âĄď¸ Differentiation
âĄď¸ Buyer behavior
It was obvious â demand generation, brand campaigns, and AI implementation all fall short without foundational customer and market understanding.
Aka, shitty input drives shitty output.
Here's the truth most marketers don't want to hear: As AI expands and mindshare becomes the most competitive currency, product marketing isn't just important.
It's survival.
Most companies treat product marketing like a disposable function. Big mistake.
Good marketing isn't about tools or tactics. It's about deep, fundamental understanding of your market, your customer, and your story.
At its core, there is no good marketing without good product marketing.
The elements might not always be labeled as "product marketing," but they're always present when marketing works.
---
Shoutout to just a few of the great people I was able to meet and connect with: Claudia Ring Mandy Schnirel Dave Schools Trinity Nguyenđ Eli Hattersley Marino Fresch Guy Yalif

Thatâs a wrap in Arizona.
Quick recap:
⢠Ai is great but slow down, and donât use it to speed up processes that have not been functional already.
⢠Personalization is paramount and always will be. Be cautious in using Ai tools to communicate with your prospects. Ask your Ai tools is to check themselves a bit to not hallucinate or sound too much like Ai.
⢠Deep Research can be leveraged very effectively to understand your customers and their partner networks. (James Kaikis has this nailed at TestBox)
⢠One of the best forms of intent will come directly from your prospects and customers. Ask them directly what they want out of your tool. They will tell you. (David Walker is perfecting this using Ai at Spara)
Thank you to Chili Piper for hosting and providing a great venue to make genuine connections.
Go sign up at FullEnrich to get the data you need to make genuine connections of your own.
Hereâs a picture of my sunburned face with Benjamin Douablin. (Sunburn credit goes to the awesome tennis match with Bradford Jordan)

Events are the pattern disruption your audience is craving.
But not just any event, obviously. Something new and different.
Here's why people wanted to be Chili Piper's Chilipalooza:
The peopleâsure, you could connect over Zoom about what's working for your GTM teams today, but there's nothing like the intimacy of chatting with your peers around a firepit in the desert. đľ
The flowâa day and a half, 3 1-hour sessions. This was honestly the appropriate amount of time before I/others needed to completely recharge our battery and get back to work. đ
The vibeâthe venue is somewhere I think anyone would want to go to, not another stuffy conference hall or just another restaurant or beer garden takeover; it was a resort centered around wellness, nature, and phenomenal views. â¨
My hats off to the entire team, but I especially tip my hat to Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ + Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ, + Daniel Cmejla...well done!!

ChiliPalooza: what a ride!
Had an awesome few days.
From playing pickleball from the first time with Guy Yalif to checking out Waymos for the first time with Jordan Crawford. The GTM sessions with Roxana Irimia and Brianna Doe were spot on, and partying with Nick V. and Stefan Kotevski was a blast. Finally met B2B influencer experts Vin Matano đ, Morgan J Ingram and Alexis Rivera Scott in person, and hung out with the French crew, Benjamin Douablin and Geoffroy d'Halluin.
Felt like a whole month packed into a few days! So intense that I forgot to take pictures đ
Heading back to France with tons of souvenirs and, even better, a ton of new ideas to take Favikon to the next level.
Big thanks to Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ and Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ for making it all happen. Really appreciate it!

đď¸A rare solo ski tour while Jack was in lessons.
đď¸Sunshine, cactus and great GTM chats in AZ!
đSalesforce family, big ideas, and
#agentforce in San Francisco.
Grateful for the people I got to meet, the friends I got to reconnect with, and the places I got to see.
This year is already shaping up to be a big one!
And it was a wrap for
#ChiliPalooza!
Two weeks ago Nicolas Vandenberghe and Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ asked us whether our research team should go to ChiliPalooza to discuss some of the ideas we had for the future of Chili Piper.
When building products, what's best than collaborating with people you're designing for? Do it in person! So of course we say YES!
During the event we had individual and group sessions to discuss in depth our vision with leaders in marketing and operations and got invaluable feedback and ideas, but most importantly, we were able to get to know in person people that use our products.
This research effort couldn't be possible without Taylor Jennings and AndrĂŠ Schatz 𧥠and the event without Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ Daniel Cmejla, Alexis Petrichos and all the pipers that help throughout the event!
P.D.: Never being to Arizona and wow... it's landscape is breathtaking!

Just returned from an incredible few days in the Arizona desert.
First time ever that I feel rested coming home from a conference.
I went to the spa. Twice!
The whole thing really exceeded expectations which is hard to do after so much hype. Congrats to the Chili Piper team that pulled it off!
Iâm loving seeing everyoneâs takeaway posts. I agree with everything Iâve seen.
Yes, we talked a lot about AI. Yes, most of us are still figuring it all out.
I made a lot of new friends. Super smart ones. The best kind.
Grateful for the connections made and the insights gained. Feeling incredibly fortunate to have been a part of it.
Forcing myself to implement at least one of the items on my list from the event.
Will report back.

Somehow magically (tnx Chelsea), we just managed to get tix for ChiliPalooza!
Stefan Kotevski and I will be in Arizona, March 3rd to 5th.
Would love to meet some GTM folks there.
If you are going - hit me up, we are always down for some margs! đš
PS: love that the ChiliPalooza font is the same as HeyReach's logo :P

Chilipalooza is wrapping up. Hereâs a video with my 3 (actually 4) main takeaways from the conference before heading to the airport.
If your not familiar with Chilipalooza, hereâs a 1-sentence description:
B2b marketing and RevOps leaders from all-sized companies came together at a wellness oasis in the Arizona dessert and shared food, drinks, and conversations around whatâs happening in B2b marketing.
The 3 main takeaways for me:
1. Ai is everything and everywhere and nobody has figured it out yet. But everyone knows itâs very promising and everyone is extremely eager to learn how best to implement it at their company.
2. With the explosion of AI tools, RevOps and Mops are scrambling to keep up and constantly learning new tools that unlock new strategies and efficiencies. Lots of tech stack change happening right now.
3. There was a beautifully balanced mix of larger companies, agencies, and startups â and the unconference-style sessions were orchestrated in a way that let us meet each other and learn from each other.
Bonus: Conferences should do more hikes and sports. I did a 3.5 mile hike with about 100 other marketers. Beautiful weather. Jutting mountains. Surrounded by cactuses đľ Thereâs a shared freedom in nature where work can dissolve and friendships can emerge.
Huge thank you to Chili Piper and Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ for creating this unique experience. Events are hard. You did great.
Those were my takeaways, what were yours?
Will skip the tag cloud but amazing to meet up with longtime friends and make new friends! Looking forward to continuing the conversations and staying in touch.

Amazing day so far at Chilipalooza.
My favorite things thus far:
1. Small breakout sessions
It is so much easier to meet people and listen to them and connect when itâs not giant keynotes or presentations.
Everything has been round tables and Iâve engaged with so many awesome GTM leaders today!
2. The food.
If ya like fruits and veg this resort is incredible.
Theyâre feeding us healthy but also delicious so I donât feel like crap and itâs not chips and candy and heavy stuff.
As my former colleague said: On a scale of 1-Alexis how is it?
It receives 5 stars!!! So yummy.
3. The vibe.
Iâm writing this post from the pool. (64 Sunny degrees feels downright tropical tbh)
Some sessions were outside, some inside.
I feel relaxed and energized at the same time which is so weird but also so amazing.
So yeah - just a happy, grateful, appreciative post.
This is an experience Iâll never have again - and Iâm so glad that I got to be here.
Looking forward to tonight and whatâs in store!

Woke up this morning very grateful.
Working alone is lonely.
Yes, I have clients that I love.
But itâs not the same as being part of a team.
Itâs not the same as:
â chatting freely
â brainstorming
â laughing
â having support
Thatâs what attending events does for me.
They give me a chance to engage. In real life.
Which sounds kind of ridiculous- âin real lifeâ⌠even the interweb is technically real.
But
â giving people hugs
â listening to them speak
â being in their actual physical presenceâŚ
Thereâs a lot to be said for it.
And for the time I have, it makes me feel like I do have a team of people I can learn from.
So anyway: if you have the opportunity to attend any conference or event:
Do it. âşď¸
Take the opportunity and meet people IRL.
Those connections and memories are priceless.
Excited for day 2 to begin!
Whatâs the most memorable business event youâve attended???

Here are 4 questions to ask yourself after an event:
(To gauge if it was worth attending)
â Did you meet new people that you could potentially do business with in the future?
â Did you enjoy the sessions? And did you learn anything?
â Did you have fun and/or get to experience something you might otherwise never get to do?
And last but very not least:
â Was the food good???? đ
Chilipalooza checked all of the boxes for me.
â
Yes - so many amazing connections!
â
Yes - All kinds of AI discussions.
â
Yes - Spa services included are a hard yes!
â
Yes - best food Iâve ever had at a conference.
Back home now and feeling a bit like falling out of the rabbit hole, but just so incredibly grateful for the time this week to surround myself with brilliant minds.
đĽWhatâs the coolest thing youâve seen at a conference?? Or coolest experience youâve had?

Just wrapped up an incredible experience at Chilipalooza by Chili Piper, and I have to sayâit was unlike any other event.
No keynotes. No presentations. Just real conversations with 150 of the top GTM minds, tucked away in Arizona, focused on the topics that actually matter to us. It was intimate, intentional, and exactly what events should be about.
One insight that stuck with me came from Chili Piperâs co-founder and CEO Nicolas Vandenberghe:
âThis event was about meeting as the people we are and then the work we do.â
Such a simple yet powerful truth. People first, then business. When companies create spaces where relationships come first, the impact follows.
Kudos to the Chili Piper team for curating something truly special. More companies should take noteâthis is how you build meaningful, impactful experiences.

For better or worse, I'm obsessed with B2B go-to-market stuff. My friends are equally nerdy. If you listen to one of our random chats over drinks & dinners, you'll hear stuff like:
â "Should AI agents be priced based on inputs or outputs?"
â "How do you scale your team's capacity without losing the human touch?"
â "Pros and cons of sales dev under Marketing vs Sales umbrella, and how to minimize the cons?"
So you can imagine I was like a fish in water at Chili Piper's Chilipalooza anti-conference conference this week. (Thanks for having us!)
While the Linkedin feed loves click baits like "[outbound/email/everything] is dead" or endless negativity and cynicism about AI....
The reality is so so different:
đ 30% of people I talked to said outbound is 50%-80% of their pipeline
đ¤ Many have started thoughtful AI implementation to drive pipeline and scale up their team
đ¤ General optimism about AI & how it'll benefit humans
FYI - many of these were from companies over $100M, not just AI startups
I also wrote down many creative ideas from revenue leaders to develop their teams and scale their impacts:
- SDR enablement cadence led by the exec leadership
- Support AI so effective that the support team becomes sellers
- SPIFF to eat
- Carrier pigeon
And lots of serendipitous shared experiences, bonding, tea đľ (lol) & conflicting opinions about posting on Linkedin (ha!)
So, I'm not worried about AI. Human connections can never be replaced by any technology.
We're also the most resilient thing Mother Nature has ever created. If anything, since the beginning of time, we've always used technology to move our kind forward.
UserGems đ AI agent, Gem-E, is built precisely with this "human-first" point of view. We're building AI sales agents so effective you'll want to HIRE MORE HUMANS. đŞ đŤ

150 GTM execs in one place without any pitches? đ¤
I could hardly believe it either. Chilipalooza was an unparalleled event at a luxury resort in the Arizona desert, and one of the best I've attended in years (alongside Branch events đ). Instead of transactional networking, we're leaving with real relationships, actionable strategies, and a refreshed mindset for tackling modern GTM challenges.
My key takeaways:
đ§ We're at the dawn of the AI revolution
Despite the hype, most leaders are still navigating the vast potential of AI. This was a chance to connect with others who are actually executing, not just theorizing. The ideas for how AI can change the landscape of my team's work plus tactically how to implement has been invaluable.
đ¤ Human connections matter
AI can replace a lot of things, but it can't replace our innate need for human connection. The undeniable value of sharing stories and ideas, bonding over hiking, breakfast, or dancing, this type of shared experience builds deep and lasting personal and professional connections.
đ Attribution is not simple
Every leader wants the perfect model that points to the one touchpoint that closes all big deals. Truth is, a buyer's journey is incredibly complex and it's never one thing, or even one team, that flips the switch. The conversations with other marketing and ops execs reinforce there's no one way to solve it today (until Mada Seghete and Upside figure it out for us all).
Thank you Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ and Chili Piper for offering a unique opportunity to break away from the routine, broaden our connections, and deepen our understanding.

Despite a cancelled flight home (oh Toronto Pearson Airport..) Chili Piperâs ChiliPalooza was a blast. Unlike your normal âdrink until it gets less weird to socializeâ conferences - this was unfiltered conversations with likeminded and inspiring peers. No keynotes - just curated breakouts for safe space strategic chats where you actually leave with takeaways for your business.
Thanks again to Chili Piper for the hospitality. Left feeling rejuvenated from the power sauna and cold plunges.
Cheers to new friends and connections made!

This past week, I had the absolute pleasure of helping to represent UserGems at Chilipalooza with Trinity Nguyenđâright in the heart of the Arizona desertâwith 150 of the smartest Marketing, Sales, and RevOps leaders Iâve ever met. Huge shoutout to Chili Piper for being incredible hosts! The conversations? đĽ The people? Even better.
And, of course, the hottest topic aside from the Coyotes hockey team moving from Phoenix to Utah? (Sorry, Iâm a hockey guy, bad joke that only two people here probably got) Of course it was AI.
We spent many super engaging roundtable sessions, and even networking time, diving into how weâre all using and developing AI to make us better, faster, and more efficient. But one thing really stood out: Outbound AI needs to be much more human. Not just because it drives better conversions (which it does), but because treating prospects and customers like real people is just the right thing to do.
Now, one of the best things about Chilipalooza? No product pitches. But I hate to say it, a few times I couldnât help myself. (what do you expect from a wannabe sales person) Because Iâm genuinely fired up about what UserGems is building with their Outbound AI agent, Gem-E.
Unlike most AI, Gem-E isnât just blasting generic spray and pray outreach into the void. Itâs actually built on real professional and human relationshipsâtracking job changes, new hires, promotions, referral opportunities, and other human signals, so you can keep those critical relationships alive and even forge new ones.
Thatâs what Outbound AI should be about. Not just more automation to make our lives easier, but building real human connectionâat scale. And to me, it doesnât get more human than that. Okay, "No pitch" zone, I forgot again...

Iâve been to a lot of events. Some good. Some bad. Lots just ok. Chilipalooza was great.
Well done Chelsea Lassen, MBA đłď¸âđ and Alina Vandenberghe đśď¸ and the entire Chili Piper team.
The location was perfection.
But more importantly, the people you assembled were absolutely top notch.
Itâs rare to have both great business conversations AND great real life conversations at the same time. This was one of those rare spaces.
You donât typically get home from a âconferenceâ feeling energized and refreshed, but thatâs how I felt this morning.
Maybe it was the sound bath to close it out before my flight yesterday?
Thanks for daring to âconference differentlyâ. So glad I could join!

đ¨ Feels like a bit of a paradox to be headed on a work trip to a town called Carefree.
đśď¸ Nonetheless, I'm excited to be repping G2 at Chili Piper's upcoming Chilipalooza event. And, more importantly, I'm going to see once and for all if Carefree, Arizona can actually live up to its name...

No boring keynotes. No vendor halls. Just an unforgettable experience.
Chili Piperâs Chilipalooza was everything a GTM event should be - tactical, energizing, and packed with conversations that matter.
But what was it that really set this event apart?
It was the people who attended and the environment we created together.
Conversations didnât just happen in breakouts - they unfolded on hikes, over incredible meals, and carried on late into the night. And speaking of nightsâŚ(as a totally unqualified aspiring DJ - kidding, of course!), the DJs were next-level. They created the perfect way to close out two days of learning and networking with a community that knows how to work hard and have a great time.
Huge shoutout to the Chili Piper crew for creating something truly special. Iâm walking away with pages full of notes and insights to bring back to KlariVis. Canât wait for the next one!

Chilipalooza was a masterclass on how to put on an incredible event.
I left inspired by all of my conversations, things I learned, and people I got to connect with.
I was especially hyped by Kyle Lacyâs session, bringing Jordan Crawford to build an agent workflow live in front of our small group that left me feeling a very nerdy excitement to build new things that I havenât had in a while⌠so much so that I couldnât stop thinking about it at lunch, just ask Drew Giovannoli đ đ
The connections were unique, just ask Amit Gupta who was volunforced by me to participate in the cold plunge!
The food was amazing and the company was even better, so thankful for the many new connections and wonderful people I met Rachel Zerilla Lindsay O'Brien Claudia Ring Mandy Schnirel Dave Schools Morgan J Ingram Taylor Wilson Regina (Magaril) Baumgartner Trinity Nguyenđ Kathleen Booth â thank you Chili Piper!

Spending time alone on business trips makes you appreciate real conversations even more. But what if AI could help bridge that gap - not just with chatbots, but with voices that actually feel human?
I recently tried Sesame's AI voice demo, and it's impressive. Unlike the robotic AI voices we're used to, this one sounds natural, expressive, and even comforting.
For people who travel a lot, live alone, or just need someone to talk to, this kind of technology could be a game changer.
Imagine:
-AI by companions that feel more human
-More natural virtual assistants for daily interactions
-A future where technology helps ease loneliness
Of course, nothing replaces real human connection (

But as AI voices get better, they could provide meaningful support for those moments when we just need to hear a familiar, warm voice.
What do you think?!!
Could AI help with loneliness, or does it feel too uncanny?
