It took me a long time to write this... And by the end of this, you'll understand why.
About a year ago, I had the privilege of becoming the first Latin American veterinarian to join Dr. Morten Hinge's Coaching Program. He gave me the opportunity to bring his way of teaching and understanding veterinary dentistry to this side of the world. Looking back now, I can honestly say that decision changed the course of my career and my life.
At that time, I was already working as a GPVet, but I didn't fully believe in myself as a vet dentist. I had the knowledge, yet I lacked the confidence to truly embrace this path. Every challenging case came with uncertainty, and I often questioned whether I was capable enough.
Morten's Coaching Program changed that.
It wasn't just about learning surgical techniques, because Morten taught me how to think through cases, understand the reasoning behind every decision, and, above all, trust my own clinical judgment. That confidence became the foundation for everything that came next.
Because of that experience, I found the courage to build my own path in veterinary dentistry in my city and in my country. Today, I have the privilege of dedicating my career to a specialty I truly love, improving the quality of life of my patients every single day, and helping fellow veterinarians manage complex dental cases with greater confidence.
That journey also encouraged me to keep learning from other incredible professionals around the world, to continue refining my skills, and to dream even bigger.
Today, I'm working toward something that, a year ago, felt like a dream waiting for the right moment to be dreamed: opening a private center dedicated exclusively to veterinary dentistry. And somehow, that dream doesn't feel so distant anymore.
When I look back, I realize that none of this started with a building, a piece of equipment, or even a title. It started with someone who chose to share his knowledge and believed in the potential of a Peruvian veterinarian who simply wanted to help more animals and contribute to the growth of veterinary dentistry in Latin America.
Thank you, Dr. Morten, for your trust, your generosity, and your passion for teaching. Your Coaching Program didn't just make me a better veterinary dentist—it gave me the confidence to become the professional I had always hoped I could be.
