Wall of love for EEDA Autumn School on AI (14-18 Dec. 2023)

EEDA was an incredible, wonderful and one of a kind experience. The program and lectures were very beneficial. I learned and acquired many things and new concepts and acquired new skills. The speakers and Tutors were very friendly, professional in their job. The most exciting part about EEDA autumn school is that we’ve learn how to merge AI and Healthcare together to come up with an amazing outcome. Meeting new people and making connections , going out for the Christmas market, visiting the Deutsche Museum made the experience much more amazing and let me discover more germany.

I’m Alice and I am a computer Science Major from AUB. The program was amazing ! I liked how Shady was able to prepare and organize this event so professionally . He explained the most important ML concepts in such an easy way that it was beginner friendly. The speakers were also very clear in their explanation, interacting with the audience and asking many questions to keep us engaged ( one of them also created a Kahoot which was very entertaining ) . The social events were really amusing like Xmas market since it is very different from the ones in Lebanon and I liked how I was able to learn more about German History through the Deutsche Museum. I would describe EEDA as incredible and very informative !

This autumn school was beyond expectations. Despite having a background in nutrition and food science, I very much enjoyed learning about ML. I didn’t expect that I would be interested in that field, yet now I reached the point that I would like to integrate what we learned and more into my thesis. I want to thank Dr. Nada and Dr. Shadi for their immense efforts day and night. Truly was an unforgettable experience.

As a computer engineering student at Beirut Arab University, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the truly well-organized and beneficial program at the EEDA AI School. The most exciting aspect was the opportunity to engage with AI topics and models through interactive sessions and practical exercises. In addition, the social events that we had together added a wonderful dimension to our interactions and created lasting memories. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Dr. Nada and Prof. Shadi for providing us with such an educational experience that has left a lasting impact on me. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to fostering a vibrant learning environment. The EEDA AI School was indeed an enriching experience.

Diving into the EEDA Autumn School on AI was an eye-opener for me. The whole setup was amazing – the lectures were super engaging, and the speakers really interesting. The tutors were so down-to-earth, making even the trickiest AI concepts seem like a breeze. The best part? Definitely the hands-on sessions. It was like watching all the theories come to life, right in front of us. And it wasn't all work and no play – we had a blast outside the classroom too. The restaurants we hit up had some good food, and wandering through the Christmas market was like stepping into a winter wonderland. The Deutsche Museum was a nice experience – so much to see and learn! If I had to sum up the EEDA experience in a couple of words, I'd say it was 'Absolutely Unforgettable.' It was more than just a school; it was a journey that mixed learning with fun and new friendships.

This was an enchanting experience filled with intellectual growth and warm connections. The school provided a platform for learning, where we absorbed a wealth of knowledge and had the privilege of meeting exceptional individuals. All the doctors were remarkably helpful and caring creating an atmosphere conducive to learning and fun at the same time. They were so supportive and they absolutely made the trip better by engaging with us and encouraging us all the time. Beyond the academic aspects, the Christmas market and the museum added delightful layers to our visit. The market made us feel the holiday cheer, enjoying Christmas vibes. It was magical and we had lots of fun there. The museum showcased the rich cultural tapestry of Bonn even though it was long and tiring but stuff inside were cool and worth seeing! I want to thank our doctors in Bau. Dr. Nada Darra, Dr. Rajaa Fakhoury, Dr. Dima Kreidieh, Dr. Mariam Zeidan, and Dr. Ali Zaart in addition to Dr. Haidar Safa. You didn’t make us feel alone.. We are proud you are a part of our university. A heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Shadi Albarqouni, whose meticulous organization and warm hospitality played a pivotal role in making the event perfect. The hospitality extended during our stay was exceptional, leaving us with memories of a trip that blended education, cultural exploration, and genuine human connections. Personally, I miss everyone already including mornings in Bonn and walking to the university! We have truly become one big family and I love each and every single one of this team!

As a BAU student majoring in Computer Science, the program exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I am very grateful for the incredible experience I had during my time at EEDA Autumn School. The speakers, and tutors, were incredibly engaging, providing valuable insights that have significantly enriched my academic journey. The most exciting and interesting part of the school for me was the practical experience, where we applied what we learned in the lectures. Additionally, the social events organized, including visits to local restaurants, the enchanting Christmas market, and the enlightening trip to the Deutsche Museum, added a delightful cultural dimension to my stay. These experiences allowed me to connect with fellow participants, creating long-lasting memories. The EEDA is a hub for artificial intelligence, and can be described in one word as Inspirational, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Nada and Dr. Shadi, who made this a memorable moment in time. I was one of the members who attened the AI school from the American University of Beirut. EEDA Autumn school was truly an unforgettable and remarkable event. The well-organized sessions (lectures and practical trainings) showcased cutting-edge advancements in the field of AI. I was particulary impressed by the diverse topics that were covered in such small time. Not to mention, I met people who showed productivity during the sessions, but also a lot of fun. EEDA Autumn School was an unforgettable unique experience. It was a pleasure discovering the world of Ai and learning a whole new concept. After this experience, i now have the curiosity to navigate more into this topic. I am Salma Khazaal, a Ph.D. student in biochemistry within the Faculty of Sciences at Beirut Arab University. The EEDA program has been incredibly beneficial and intellectually stimulating for me. Despite my diverse background, I found the lectures, speakers, and tutors exceptionally helpful in facilitating my learning. The most exciting aspect of the program was the practical application of coding various machine learning models. The hands-on experience enriched my understanding and provided valuable insights into the field.
