The talk was great! It was really well received. A couple of people commented that it was the best talk of the conference. Someone also said it was like a TEDx talk. 

The only downside was, I couldn't help but see all of the issues in the other presentations. People reading, bad slides, random narratives and too much information. 

Thanks again Emily! It was totally worth all the hard work.

Before I lacked confidence and I had prepared lengthy presentations that had no point. Also my presentations did not have the impact on the audience that I wanted. 

I can say that after doing TPP I am much more confident. My mindset is different and I know how to structure my presentations.

I am usually guilty of multi-tasking during a webinar or a Zoom session, organising my emails. The entire session was so captivating and engaging that I did not think about my phone or anything for that matter. 

The tips and the examples you shared were so relatable. It changed my perspective of how I would deliver my talk and how I could make it impactful for the audience. 

It is always about the audience at the end of the day as they are investing their time for the duration of the talk.

It made me think out of the box, and show how to present my ideas from a different and more appealing angle. I didn't realise it would be so valuable to get feedback from peers! 

Now I realise that I can present my talk in a way that I never imagined was possible.

Emily equiped me with a tried and trusted toolkit to deliver presentations confidently and with impact. I wouldn’t have expected that I would be able to present to Board audiences but i have now caught myself actually enjoying it!

I have been taking your advice from the free session you provided and my confidence has improved a lot. So much that I agreed to be on a panel at Cybercon next week. 

On Monday there is a session on journey into the cyber security awareness space. There will be 4 of us talking about where we’ve transitioned from. I

’m quite excited about the opportunity and little anxious but that’s ok 😃. It’s a small step before doing formal presentations. I just wanted to let you know.

Before The Captivating Storyteller I was definitely more of a facts and figures kind of presenter, then during these three months I have learned the tools and techniques to create engaging stories. 

So I feel that I am now able to bring to life any topics and create a real connection with the audience by making the stories relevant to them. 

When I present now the audience feels like they are part of the story and so they will remember the key messages better that could even lead to lasting behavioural change or achieve whatever the ‘point’ and the end goal of the story meant to be. 

I will use it in my work settings for sure to make business and cultural change interventions more relevant, relatable and engaging for people and I would like to integrate it into my day to day life and interactions with people so that my stories are interesting and joy to listen to. 

What I'd say to others is definitely do it! You will learn new skills that will not only benefit you in your work environment but in all interactions throughout your life. 

There are stories everywhere and there is always an opportunity to make conversations and presentations better, more interesting and engaging by just applying some of the key elements of the storyteller technique…. 

So just imagine how you could transform your future stories if you put all that you will learn into practice!

I knew I wanted to do more public speaking, and that I had valuable insights and advice to share, I just didn't know how to actually do that. 

Now I feel like I have the strategies/tools to get from ideas/value content to crafting a session or even a keynote! I am already identifying opportunities to use stories in meetings to influence and gain buy-in; on a larger scale I am motivated to create sessions, keynotes and linkedin posts to get my message out there and help people. 

If you're wondering if The Captivating Storyteller is for you - I'd say go for it. Even if speaking in front of others, showcases etc. seems daunting - you will be surprised at the effect it has on your wider confidence and skills.

I used to be super nervous, I worried how I spoke and I simply provided facts. 

Now I've learnt how to be more engaging. This will help me get more buy-in, boost my influence, build my personal brand and be able to speak in front of various tech and non-tech with confidence. 

The best part about TPP was the feedback process. You do not get the level of feedback when you do presentations in your daily life.

That lightbulb moment you had with Simon Sinek. I had the same with your talk. So much resonated.

Before TPP I was very factual and heavily dependant on powerpoint slides. After doing TPP I'm definitely more confident and have a list of tools and ideas to make a more engaging presentation. 

This will now help improve my sales pitches to clients.
