We signed our young reader up for 12 months of these stories in November. He is 8 but is struggling with reading. My husband and I read them electronically when they are mailed to him. He visits us twice a month and eagerly discusses these stories with us. He likes Max and the Chef. We really think the paper mailed version is awesome. No electronics, no screen time. His father sits and reads these with him when they arrive, so it has also become a special time for them. I would recommend these to anyone who appreciates quality stories, and no screen time!! We are hoping his reading improves so we can order a novel for him next. 5 stars all the way. This is a true win win gift.

Really, I thought my grandson would lose interest in the twice-a-month letter to him. But not at all! He looks forward to the missives. And I share the reading with his mom. Occasionally his father will dramatize what we are reading! It has been a joy for all of us.

We love these letters! It has given my great nephew and I time to develop a relationship. We don’t see each other very often, so these FaceTime meetings where we read the stories together and talk about them is wonderful. Walker, his mother and I love these letters. For a generation bombarded with all things electronic and noisy, The Max Letters has given my rambunctious nephews a reason to slow down, get calm, and step into a magical world of imagination one only finds in a captivating tale. They eagerly watch the mailbox for the next installment and are becoming avid readers. I hoped for but did not expect them to have so fully enjoyed their letters. I was given an opportunity to experience their thrill when I received a Max Letters postcard, from the boys, telling me all about Gaspaar and their own stone soup. The boys and quite honestly the whole family have enjoyed The Max Letters, Folktales of Gaspaar. I'm excited because I've already planned to order more so they'll get two more years of magic delivered. Thanks to Robin and all the wonderful people at The Max Letters - my title of Most Awesome Aunt is secure and will be for some time to come.

My grandson loves going to the mailbox to see if he has mail (Max Letters). I ordered these knowing he is younger than the age group these were created for. They are a little long for a 3.5 year old, but he is able to save them in the tin for later when his attention span and comprehension is greater.

The Gaspaar Letters have been a delightful way to keep in touch with a niece and introduce her to storytelling and wonder. I was looking for a gift that might last longer than a season and I think this is it! Hello - I ordered The Max Letters for my 8yr old grandson. We live in two different states and so this gives us something to discuss when we talk on the phone. He absolutely LOVES the stories and he loves showing off his reading skills....we take turns reading the stories to each other. I will continue to subscribe as long as he is interested!! Wish I had a photo to share. I purchased this for a x-mas gift 2024 for my 7 yr old granddaughter - she lives on the east coast and I live in the mid west. I also paid the extra to receive an email copy for myself each time she received her chapter in the mail (SO worth it!).  It started out as a FaceTime bedtime ritual every two weeks - reading out loud to each other every other paragraph. We would laugh and talk about the lessons learned. Eventually she started saving them up for my east coast visits so we could read them each night. When we caught up with all of the chapters, I gave her a choice of reading another book (she's an avid reader), and she chose to begin from letter #1 all over again. We both love the special bond we have thru these stories . So much so that I ordered another series for x-mas 2025 gift.

My grand-daughter really loves receiving mail. She is 9 years old and she is now officially the post girl. She goes to the post regularly to see if there is a letter for her. Occasionally, when she receives one, she facetimes me and reads it to me. I'm very happy to have given her this opportunity to know what it's like to get personal mail. May I say, she also likes the stories very much.

My grandbabies are enjoying their parents reading the stories to them. I bought both the Folktales for one set of kids and the Max adventures for the other set of kids. We were all together for Memorial Day and I got to read to all of them. It was hard explaining about the castle children that came to the cooks kitchen to here the tales. My grandsons are 6&7 years old and sometimes enjoy listening to the stories. Their focus time is not long enough for the length of the stories although sometimes they make it to the end.
