Groove has been amazing for creating structure and productivity in my unstructured time. The support from the community as a whole has been amazing and I’ve always enjoyed cheering others on in whatever they have been doing. My favourite memories have been when I’ve been working on big projects and not feeling lonely when finishing them! I’ve met some really beautiful people through the app. I’ve loved coworking with the Groove team too - Sruli and Tova are incredibly hardworking, inspirational people and I wish them the best for their next adventures.

I just discovered groove a few weeks ago and wrapped up my free trial last week. I wasn’t able to financially afford the app at the moment (momentary financial setbacks, no discretionary spending money at this time) but I really hoped to get back to it in the next couple months. It was the most productive I’ve been at work for a long time, I felt like I cracked the code to my executive dysfunction/ADHD tendencies. Sad it won’t be around for me to subscribe to in the future! Everyone was lovely and inclusive.

I had a lot of fun with Groove. Thanks to my friend Allie who invited me!! Had so much fun meeting Kimmie from NYC and another friend whose name escapes me now but I wish it didn't because she was the funniest person on planet earth. I would be CRYING LAUGHING in Groove because of her and I am so sorry that I cannot recollect your name. Special thanks to Elysha who was the person whose name I was most excited to see. Just a ray of sunshine. Thank you friends!!!

After changing continents and life path, Groove gave me a really nice sprint towards building a new identity and career path while meeting new, like-minded people with the same interests. I'd praise Magdalena and Ineke for their time and motivation while working together.

I have been using [Groove] to help me tackle specific individual tasks that otherwise I would put off. So far, I’ve done 25 Grooves in the last two weeks. I’ve taken care of projects that include registering an LCC, obtaining an EIN, having an uncomfortable conversation, and writing numerous Linkedin posts.

I’m so grateful for all the amazing humans that I’ve met on Groove. Being a solo entrepreneur can be tough and isolating, but having my ā€œcoworkersā€ in my pocket has made a huge difference for me.

Groove app has been a *total* game-changer for me, and I want to shout about it from the rooftops a bit. It’s so simple and a bit addictive — and genuinely helpful. It’s the perfect tool for keeping me accountable. And I’m an introvert, so you know this app is a big deal if I’m loving the chance to talk to strangers! šŸ˜‚ But that’s the beautiful thing, too: the people you meet on Groove aren’t strangers for long. You start to form little communities and connections. You lift each other up and celebrate each others victories. You all know I love a sacred little community, and that’s exactly what Groove is to me.

Groove is, without a doubt, my favorite coworking community. Many think of Groove as a productivity app, and it is, but for me, it's a heart-centered community of creators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. The photo shows my Groove corner with my phone on the "Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy the Groove" stand, Groove merchandise, and I'M GRATEFUL FOR YOU cards. Earlier today, I introduced Amy Clanin to Groove when she mentioned hashtag#coworking. She didn't know about Groove, but now she does. NO RISK...and all kinds of rewards. Who knows, maybe you'll meet your favorite Groovers!

I often tell people I didn’t look for a coworking community like Groove; it found me. It found me when I wasn’t looking, but I stayed because there’s something magical about joining a community where you feel seen. Groove celebrated my third, fifth, tenth, twenty-fifth, and fiftieth Grooves. When I hit the lucky 100, these sweet goodies arrived in my mailbox. I eagerly ripped open the package and said, ā€œA community that notices its people and ensures they feel acknowledged and appreciated is the right place for me.ā€ There's a lot to love about Groove (including all the incredible people you will meet!)

2021: Started virtually co-working w/ Dr. Michael Tatonetti. Over 900 grooves together and 500 miles later, we FINALLY met IRL in ATL🄰 Thanks Groove🪩 What started as a way to get more done has turned into an incredible way to build meaningful relationships. We have cheered for each other, prayed for each other and have shown up for each other when we needed it most. Work got done but more importantly we learned we are not worth more by doing more or less for doing less. I can truly work a 20 Hr Work Week because I have a support network holding me accountable and I am so grateful. If you’re working remote or you feel like you still haven’t found your people, I would encourage you to try Groove.

I’m a big fan of Groove - Taylor Harrington 🪩 described it as ā€œvirtual coworking for people who work alone but don’t want toā€ As a member of 3 months now I’ve found: - accountability, productivity and focus <- what I was hoping for - small moments of companionship - occasional idle chit-chat: water cooler stuff from the olden days One of the groovers lives 5 blocks away from me and we have a shared intent, if not a plan, to go swimming at China Beach. Another lives in Washington DC and *insists* that I turn my camera on to Potter 🐶 whenever we groove together (to be fair, he’s a bit hairier and a whole lot more photogenic than I am). One of my favorite people lives in Chicago: she is very much an aunty to an ever broadening group of people, in the same way that I approach mentoring with an avuncular mindset. I think of us as ā€œUncle Dave and Aunty Sheritaā€ So. Groove. It’s unusual. It’s what WeWork should have been.

Their app and brand make it so easy to connect with others. It's everything! From how they host virtual events to their use of emojis, silly prompts to spark conversations, and small gestures like the handwritten note and swag I received after 50 "Grooves," they make me feel valued and part of something bigger.

Just dropped a freshly baked landing page: samdubeau.com I have been working on this personal brand refresh and homepage for nearly half a year—or at least it’s occupied space in my mind for that long. When it came down to the actual buildout, it only spanned a few weeks, but the biggest challenge was getting to the point of prioritizing this huge project for myself. I finally put the same care and creative energy I dedicate to client work towards myself. šŸ’œ Shoutout to all the Groove friends who pushed me through this process and cheered me on. It was fitting that the Accountability Crew emoji this week was a celebratory one. 🄳

Groove is the place I go for virtual co-working, but it's also the place I go to meet amazing people, get an off the cuff pep talk from a friend or for a reminder that I'm not alone in this super cool but sometimes hard thing called entrepreneurship. If you're somewhere in between "I love working remotely" but "I feel kinda lonely" sometimes, Groove is the answer. And they also sent the sweetest happy mail!

Granted I’m only a few days in, but I’m finding that this online, on-demand co-working space (Groove) that I joined is helping me immensely in overcoming my procrastination on certain tasks. I know sometimes I get caught in this loop where tasks with no defined limit unless I give them one (like engaging on social media) can be a crutch for me in avoiding other things I have to do, but this space has been keeping me focused on moving onto other important things.

Groove came into my life at a time where isolation was at an all-time high. I found it incredibly difficult to stay motivated and focus while working from home and I knew something needed to change. I began beta testing Groove in August 2021 and when I received the first piece of physical mail from this app, I knew I found my people.

Don't you love when you're connected with people in the virtual world who turn out to be just as warm and down to earth in person? A few days ago I had a fab time experiencing just that. Meeting up with these lovely Groovers for the first time was amazing! Since the summer of 2021, I've been using a social networking platform called Groove it hosts a global community of Groovers that simply want to get things done; anything from daily workouts, prepping for a meeting, housework, your taxes or that other thing you keep putting off! No pressure. No competitiveness. No judgement. I used Groove before I even knew about my wonderful adhd brain - Fab tool for accountability and virtual body-doubling. Helped me a ton! But the best thing, of course, are the people I've met along the way.

I joined Groove because I was looking for a coworking app that would keep me motivated and on top of my tasks. I had tried one other similar service that I really liked and personally, I loved that I didn’t have to get on video and interact with people (LOL?). After my trial for that one was over, I decided to try Groove because a friend is on the platform.

At first, I was a little afraid of the whole video chat thing. Every Groove is 5 minutes or so on video, 50 minutes off video working on your tasks, and 5 minutes back on video to share how it went. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel having to get on video with strangers and actually speak. Well, the first few times were a tad hard for me but it got me out of my comfort zone!

I continued Grooving for a whole week, always thinking, ā€œwhich platform will I go with?ā€ because my intention was to choose Groove or the other platform as my permanent ā€œcoworking homeā€. I’ve made the decision to stick with Groove and here’s why:

 1. After getting on video a few times, it’s not so scary anymore! I feel like it keeps me more accountable and motivated when I actually have to speak and share.

 2. I really wanted an app for coworking, with a to-do list built in that I could easily add to if I thought of something I needed to do at a random moment in my day. Well, Groove gives me just that! The other platform I tried was not mobile-friendly (and neither were a few other coworking sites out there) and adding to my to-do list is so easy.

 3. THE COMMUNITY. This is the biggest thing for me. While I tried out Groove, I still kept thinking about the things I had liked about the other platform and I thought my decision would be hard (to choose between the two). But the more I Grooved, the easier it became to choose Groove. Every time I did a Groove session, you could tell these people know and care about each other. They ask about upcoming trips, pets, how the task they were working on the other day is going.

As you Groove day after day, you start to see many familiar faces. That sealed it for me.

On my first Groove, I met Joshua Greene who looked familiar. He asked how I found my way to Groove. I said Taylor invited me. He responded, "I work with Taylor, she's amazing!" Only later did I discover he's a co-founder and CEO. He's become a friend. I appreciate the way he leads with heart and humility. Much love and gratitude to and for Groove and the Groove Community...

Business is better done in community. It's one of my core beliefs. A few months ago I stumbled across this awesome little community called Groove - I saw it as a productivity tool but it became way more than that. Essentially this app allows you to log in any time of the day and find three other humans across the planet to grooooove with. You state your focus for the next hour, you have some lovely chitchat then a timer hits and off you go to do your do. After 50 minutes you regroup and share where you got to. Accountability + High Vibes + Social Injections. Daily. I've used it as an epic way to leverage my AuDHD as a cool body-doubling technique and to date have chalked up 177 hours of productive time in just a few months. Productivity šŸš€ Work Mojo šŸš€ LOLs šŸš€ But it's the community that has really lit me up. This screenshot is taken from one of the grooves with some of my faves Patty Woods Heather Olson and Bill Irvine - I get to hang and work with 3 epic humans in 3 separate countries DAILY. I know it may sound like I'm gushing (let's be honest that is my first language) but there is something really magic about the privilege of meeting epic humans and sharing your day with them.

It's an elegant solution to getting enough social accountability and connection in the WFH era, whilst also preserving flexibility. It's also a great example of building something users genuinely need. Personally, Groove has also been an absolute productivity gift since I left my full time role and went out on my own.

Special shoutout to Taylor Harrington 🪩 who invited me to this magical community, forever changing my WFH routine and allowing me to find a stride that feels sustainable and supportive. 5 reflections after my first 10 Grooves on the Groove app šŸ”„ 1. Accountability can be as simple as stating your task list out loud to strangers (you would be surprised by how motivating this is!) 2. It’s easy to show up for and encourage others to accomplish their tasks, even if you don’t fully understand their line of work, how they work, or what they do in their role. 3. The Groove team undeniably crushes the new user experience. They’ve got it figured out! I’ve received multiple encouraging graphics from co-founder Tova Safra highlighting my participation in the community and many helpful and warm emails from the Head of Community, Taylor Harrington 🪩. 4. Many people have ā€œdecide what to eat for dinner tonightā€ as a task on their daily to-do list šŸ˜‚ I’m amazed by how many Groovers have shared this because I’ve always felt an unreasonable pressure to plan my meals for the week. 5. The kindest and most wonderful humans gravitate to the same spaces; Groove is no exception. I asked one of the co-founders, Joshua Greene, how they’ve attracted so many cool people to join the Groove community. He said, ā€œTrying to wear our heart on our sleeve with the brand and what we are building.ā€ Spoiler alert: it’s working!

Come for the productivity, stay for the people! Groove has helped me stay more focused, learn how to single task, and be more mindful and realistic about how long things take. Even better than all that are the people and relationships! Everybody is so welcoming and genuinely cares about how you’re doing. It is so fun to do several back-to-back Grooves with the same people. At the end of the day, it’s nice to have shared something with other people, and to feel a sense of accomplishment and support for each other.

Cheers to us. Whatever the week has in store! For me, it’s *packed.* Packed with good stuff, but still. I sat down last night and thought, ā€œshoot, I’m behind already.ā€ But then I rewrote my list. I spent a couple of hours checking things off (thanks, Groove). I tamed some of the chaos. And this morning, my little guy came in and said, ā€œIt’s time to get up, mama! There’s coffee! And you’re the best!ā€ I think it’s fair to claim it as a good week, even if we’re just getting started. I hope it’s a great one for you. And I hope nobody steals your coffee cup. 🤣

A virtual co-working space on your phone where you get to work with an amazing crew and make the best of your time! It does wonders for all of us working alone or from home.

I've made real, genuine connections on this app!

Sometimes I have to befriend the resistance. If I'm procrastinating it's often because there's a part of me who isn't fully sold on the idea or who questions the outcome. Not to bring everything back to Groove, lol, but the monthly goal-setting sessions really are incredibly valuable for setting priorities — and setting other things aside! That time to stop and reflect *in community* really helps!

Over the past few weeks, I've been using Groove to remotely co-work with random awesome folks around the world and it's been so fun! I've met a ton of folks from all walks of life, and in each groove, we get to share a snippet of our days together, which has been a huge boost for helping me combat the general loneliness I get working from home all the time and no longer having colleagues to work with. But another benefit I've found is that because we set session-specific goals, I've been way more focused on getting things done in a set time frame, which has improved my overall time management as a bonus. Just want to say thanks to the team at Groove Joshua Greene, Tova Safra, and Sruli Rapps for making such a great product! And of course Taylor Harrington 🪩 for introducing me to it (indirectly through posting about it).

When you hear a fellow "Groover" is traveling to London you need to make sure you make the time to meet up IRL. It was a huge pleasure, as a result, to meet the amazing founder of Reluctant Marketers, Debbie Benstein outside of my mobile phone screen yesterday to chat all things entrepreneurial, marketing and how to craft a killer message. Here's to the power of connection (yet again!) that Groove gives. šŸ’Ŗ I don't think I am exaggerating when I say, Debbie and I would never have met had it not been for that nifty little app you have all built Taylor Harrington 🪩, Sruli Rapps, Joshua Greene and Tova Safra so thank you again šŸ‘

I love waiting to see who's going to show up for the next groove. Working alone from home, those 50 minute bursts with other Groovers give me real, accountable structure so I can focus on specific tasks and not be overwhelmed by the big picture. I've met some amazing people doing the strangest things!

I wanna give a shout out to the team at Groove aka Joshua Greene and Taylor Harrington 🪩 who are building one of my fav apps rn. As much as I love working remotely and working from home, I sometimes miss those water cooler moments IRL by being in an office. I've been using Groove in the past few weeks and what I realized is that it's not just a productivity app where you work in increments of 50 min. There's a built-in curated community of other creative entrepreneurs who work on these sprints with you and it's been so nice to casually chat with them before and after each sprint. I've also noticed that everyone that I've met on Groove is consistently on the app so it's kinda like seeing the same co-workers around in the cafeteria. As much as it's cool to be a part of diff Slack groups, there's just something diff about meeting people face-to-face and even co-working together. Groove really does such a great job creating that experience for folks. I'm also v grateful for Groove to be #5to9pod's first sponsor!! When I met Joshua Greene via Nikita Walia a few months ago, we were legit so on the same page about our views on future of work and collaboration that it felt like a no-brainer to do something together šŸ’• Soooo if you're looking for community + co-working buddies, you gotta try Groove :) After you download the app, use the code SPACETOGROW for a 30-day pass!!! See you on there :D PS. This post was written during a Groove session with Chantelle Attarian Wolfe 😁 #coworking #remotework #collaboration #futureofwork #solopreneurship

I've been freelancing since 2015, if anyone is new to the freelance scene and wants to chat about what systems and tools have been helpful for me in this journey in detail, send me a connection request! Happy to chat. Mental health for me is so directly tied to my feelings of overwhelm and helplessness. These can happen when you are freelancing at any stage, but I have strong systems in place now to help keep me within my boundaries and working in a way that is supportive of positive mental health. Some of my fave tools are like R. Katharine C. Nisson said, Groove for time management and focus. HoneyBook for invoicing, contracts, and project management. Notion for content calendar development and sharing. Later for social media scheduling and Constant Contact for emails.

I make PR fun. Telling medtech and life sciences stories better to increase influence, build and protect reputation.

Thank goodness for Groove!! I also love the idea of ā€œsensory boundariesā€ for my work: a beautiful home office space filled with art I love, intentional soundtracks, gorgeous candles. Add in purposeful time AWAY from that space to hydrate and get fresh air, and I’m (almost) unstoppable! ā¤ļø

I’ve found that I need to be intentional about how I create accountability and where I incorporate ā€œweak tieā€ conversations into my day (without letting those take over my energy and focus). Groove, a virtual coworking platform, is one way I’ve tapped into the best of both worlds—brief, structured check-ins with a community of increasingly familiar faces, plus dedicated blocks of time—with the accountability factor of checking in at the end. For extroverts who lean less structured, a platform like this is a game-changer to build in that ā€œjust rightā€ level of support for a remote workday.

I just started Grooving yesterday, and I'm in love. The interface was super fun and intuitive. I felt empowered to jump into my 1st Groove and was welcomed with pure glee. Beyond the community, Groove is helping me get unstuck on some projects I've been dragging my feet on for months! If I think of any other feedback I will definitely share it. For now, these are my thoughts. Thanks again, Joshua! …see more

Worldbuilding for the Third Reconstruction

I've been using Groove since December as part of my 2024 resolution to take my ADHD more seriously. It's wild how much more I get done with just a little sip of social validation on a regular basis, and nothing is a dopamine loader like getting some surprise appreciation from someone else. This morning Kevin asked me for more detail about how I start my work week, and I told him about my giant running to-do document (every week gets a list that's built off the copied-and-pasted list of undone to-dos from the week before, and by the end of the year it's usually about 100 pages long). It's evolved over the years to include space for reflecting on my priorities for the week and big blocks I'm running into. It's helped me right-size my expectations of myself, and I've found that I'm getting better at load-balancing my weeks as a result. I'm also glad he asked me, because I don't usually do a lot of talking about my process -- most of what I share on here is product, and so much of my work happens alone in my apartment because my team is highly flexible and remote. Many of you may appreciate the fact that running a small, startup-stage organization means doing a wide variety of tasks, from finance to web design to copyediting and everything in between. In some ways, I think ADHD makes it so that I can context switch between lots of different streams and modalities of work, but making time to think about what I'm doing and why makes it so my hyperfocus doesn't run away with me.

šŸ’…šŸ» So glad you all believed in me. Five things I've learned from 50 sessions on Groove: 1. Fifty minutes is a lot longer than you think. There are more small, annoying, petty tasks you can handle in an hour than you may imagine. I cannot tell you how many times I felt like I stacked my to do list for the session and just blasted through everything. While I definitely had roll over tasks in about 40% of my Grooves, those other 60% felt so pure. 2. Fifty minutes is a lot shorter than you think. I committed to doing some pretty dreaded tasks during some Grooves, with the disclaimer to myself that "it's just 50 min." And guess what? I convinced myself to commit to a single awful task for a Groove with the reminder that I get to be "done" after that 50 no matter if the task was done or not. 3. Despite the fact that time is a construct of our own minds as demonstrated in points 1 & 2, I was still unable to do a complete set of Morning Pages if I was doing anything else during a Groove. Apparently morning pages for me need their own session. 4. People are working on the COOLEST THINGS. I've grooved with artists, musicians, marketers, coders, community builders, and so much more. A highlight was Kimyung Kim dropping freestyle bars after one of our sessions. šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ 5. Thirty six hours of highly focused work over the past two weeks has changed the trajectory of my year. I've dug deeper into data, cleaned up my paperwork act, re-adopted healthy journaling habits, set up huge Notion dashboards for a variety of projects, and tackled many of the things that have felt really daunting as I stepped into this year. Sometimes all it takes is telling yourself you are going to do something in the next fifty minutes to actually give yourself the support and clarity you want.

Joined the Groove community and as a 'Founding Member 🪩', I'm so happy this app exists! I also love the email nudge to add this to our LinkedIn experience to help find others who are also using the app. So cute! Today is my first day using Groove. I've already joined/started 5 Grooves (currently in one with a gentleman named Stuart who is working his ass off! lol) and already my productivity is much higher than it has been literally in weeks. This is an app I've lowkey been waiting for someone to develop bc my ADHD brain LOVES body doubling but it's not always easy to find folks to co-work with. Groove makes it SO easy. Shoutout to their team for coming up with such a great product and to Carolyn Zick for the invite. I also see this as a great opportunity to make some lovely connections with like-minded folks. Yay for community, I love it here! 😊

Ideator. Connector. Facilitator. Synthesizer. Ideator. Connector. Facilitator. Synthesizer.

As a community builder who is much better at saying "yes" than "no" to interesting projects, I often find myself juggling a lot and dancing with Overwhelm. Can you relate? Here's what I've tried to channel my productivity and clarity: •  Reading lots of smart books (Getting Things Done. What's Best Next. Atomic Habits. Essentialism. Traction...) • Drinking lots of coffee. • About 15 different planners (and counting) • Trello. Notion. Tasksboard. Asana. Google tasks. • Practicing saying "No" in front of the mirror. • To do lists. • Done lists. • Post-It notes everywhere. Here's the thing. All these processes have potential. But the missing piece for me is a hashtag #community element. If I have to do it alone, I get tired/bored/irritable after awhile. Which is why I love Groove. 50-minute blocks of focused work time sandwiched with focused, supportive convos with 2-3 other Groovers. We share to-do lists, get to work, then circle back to share how things went. Rinse and repeat as our schedules allow. Here is the best part (for me and my community-loving soul): connecting with people from around the world. People I wouldn't normally meet. People sharing productive energy, good vibes, and well wishes. Groovers are amazing! Day brighteners. Smart workers. Generous folks. So if you are looking for some extra energy, a quick and meaningful connection, and a jolt of productivity, check out Groove. Message me here and I'll send you an invite for special access. See you on a Groove soon!
