# Changing the default avatar for text testimonials

> Upload a default avatar for text testimonials that have no photo.

Text testimonials without a photo use a lettered avatar. You can upload your own default avatar instead.

## Before you start

-   Avatars on testimonials submitted before this change stay the same.
    
-   To change the avatar on an existing testimonial, see [Change your user's avatar](https://help.testimonial.to/en/articles/8303975-change-your-user-s-avatar).

## Upload a default avatar

1.  Open your hosted Wall of Love.
    
2.  Click the settings icon on the right.
    
3.  Open **Advanced**, then **Components**.
    
4.  Click **Upload Default Avatar** and choose an image.
    
5.  Click **Save**.
