Wall of love for Infinite Fighting Concepts
I have been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu at IFC since January 2016. The environment at IFC strikes a balance of being serious and driven about training, but also friendly and supportive to meet everyone's needs. It is a fun place to be. I feel like part of a community, and not just another warm body paying membership dues. The students who train at IFC are friendly, down-to-earth people who care about helping each other improve. I felt comfortable right away from my very first class. The training curriculum is highly structured and carefully planned out. Jeff, the owner and one of the black belt instructors, sets the tone. He leads classes with a lot of drive and energy, and knows how to create an atmosphere that is really enjoyable to come and train in. The school has another black belt instructor, Tony Passos, who teaches the advanced jiu jitsu classes. Tony is very positive, upbeat and passionate, and it is obvious he cares deeply about being a good coach. His approach to teaching is so well thought-out it is almost scientific, and he breaks things down into practical concepts that really make a lot of sense. Since I have been training at IFC, I feel my jiu jitsu has improved leaps and bounds in a very short time. I have not yet tried judo, boxing or Muay Thai, but often watch those classes in progress, and I am impressed with the level of fitness and skill the students demonstrate, as well as the knowledge and dedication of the instructors. I don't have any kids, but from what I have seen of the kids' classes, I'd say Jeff and the other instructors offer solid structure and discipline to the kids, but also teach with a lot of humor and encouragement. It is so great to see the kids have so much fun learning and I am amazed at their jiu jitsu skills! I would definitely recommend this school, whatever your goals are - whether you want to compete, learn self-defense, or just want to get fit and have fun doing it, I think you will find that IFC has something for you.

I have been training here doing BJJ for about 4 months... I wish that I had found this place sooner. Coach Jeff is great, teaches fundamentals and body mechanics. I am in my early 30's and a mother of 4 so I needed the exercise... I train twice a week and after about a month I felt thinner, healthier, and now four months later I feel super strong. My muscle tone is up and I am not in pain or as stressed as I was before I started training. Everyone is easy to get along with and we learn something new every class.

I’ve been going to Infinite for almost about a year now and I can’t say anything but good about them. I’ve lost over 50 pounds by going the the Muay Thai classes they offer and working out on my own. Every coach I’ve experienced are excellent teachers and have a passion for what they’re teaching. The community there is supportive and are all a bunch of badasses! This is my first time experiencing any sort of Martial Arts in my life and I’m glad infinite is where I got to experience that. I highly recommend Infinite if you have the will to learn and want to enter into a great community.

Ive been training at Infinite for 3 months or so, and have found a family of people who really care about teaching, learning, and growing skill. And its sincere and authentic. Coach Jeff is absolutely awesome and cares about giving newbies to BJJ like me a very good foundation of critical basic knowledge, so that we can build on our successes and failures on the mat. All the higher belts are awesome too and super nice and helpful. I only wish I had come to Infinite A LOT sooner! Thank you Coach Jeff and the Infinite Family!

I trained at IFC while visiting the area for a business trip and was immediately struck by how welcoming the staff and students were. I attended two intermediate BJJ classes and continued to be impressed. I travel a lot for work and visit different gyms when I'm on the road. A lot of times, the professor/coach is nice but they aren't very attentive to me during the class - focusing instead on their regular students. I understand that approach, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't IFC's philosophy. I felt like I got just as much coaching and instruction as the regular students (maybe even more since we were working techniques that were new to me, but that they'd been drilling for a few weeks). I'll definitely visit again when I'm in town and highly recommend the gym for business travelers looking to keep up their skills while getting in a good workout.

I started training at IFC in July of 2015 and have just made a year of training. I have trained primarily Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also Muay Thai and have always had a wonderful experience here. The instructors are fantastic, regardless of which discipline you are studying. The balance between being serious about your goals and being friendly and supportive to meet everyone's needs is astounding. I have made lifelong friends and teammates and truly feel that the folks I train with care about welcoming you as a part of their community and push you to train hard. The instructors are second to none and set the tone for the classes to be full of energy and drive and it's an enjoyable place to come and train. Jeff and Tony, as well as the other instructors are not only passionate about jiu jitsu, but about helping students learn and I couldn't ask for a better environment. I love my time spent at IFC and I recommend it to anyone looking to break into mixed martial arts. The welcoming and sense of community at this gym is unlikely to be found anywhere else. Whether you are looking for self defence, fitness or actual fighting concepts, I would recommend IFC. I have a whole new family that I love dearly and the skills I have learned, and continue to learn are top notch.

I joined Infinite Fighting Concepts a few months ago and have had a really great experience! I was looking for something more interesting than the classes at a regular gym, and I wanted to lose weight and learn some self defense. I've been doing Muay Thai, and it's great for both women and men. The coaches are excellent and I get near-constant one-on-one help from them during the classes (which I like, personally). I really like the combination of technical instruction (how to strike, kick, etc) and fitness (to build strength). The school has a great atmosphere too - it's a real community of supportive people dedicated to training and helping each other meet goals. I'd highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a fun, supportive environment in which to learn martial arts.

I started taking the Muay Thai fundamentals class about 2 and a half months ago and let's just say there's a reason I keep coming back. Not only is IFC a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The gym is accompanied with respectable instructors well equipped not just to teach you but also to push you to reach your best form. This constructive attitude all starts from the top down in Coach Jeff and seeps it's way into each and every person who enters the gym. If you've never taken a martial art, and are interested, or you're an experienced martial artist looking to expand your knowledge or stay in shape, there is no better place that I could recommend.

On the fence about joining and trying Jiu Jitsu? Just do it! I am a young female that was interested in self-defense. At first, I thought that meant Krav Maga. I reached out to a couple different places and Infinite Fighting Concepts was the only place that got back to me -- and quickly. They follow up without being too pushy either. Right from the start, it is clear that Coach Jeff and his staff care about who you are and why you are there. Coach Jeff is certified and highly trained in several martial arts and, after inviting me to one of his beginner classes, explained why Jiu Jitsu was a better fit for me and my goals. I watched the beginner class and was hooked. Here is what I love about this community: (1) I'm not sure how busy the beginner classes were before COVID but the class sizes are perfect right now. Between 10 and 15 people show up for the weekly evening classes allowing for more personalized training. (2) People with varying skill levels show up for the beginner classes and the more experienced students are very helpful. (3) The classes are supposed to be ~45 minutes (it goes by way too fast!) but if we haven't finished curriculum entirely by the end of the class, Coach Jeff and his staff don't cut the class short. They make sure that the material is taught and that everyone gets a chance to practice. (4) The membership cost is extremely reasonable, especially given the rigor of the training and the skill of the people teaching the classes. (5) Most importantly, the community is tight, respectful, and supportive. I just moved to MD and this has been a nice way to make friends! Huge thanks, IFC MMA!

Great Academy ! My Juijitsu has improved since moving to IFC. The instruction is strategic and we learn in concepts not just technique. All of the instructors are top quality and it is a heathy and safe environment, with a strong sense of community. So glad I made the decision to join IFC and would like to encourage other women to join.

I moved from these guys to a different gym, because the commute is shorter, but I have to say that the high level of jujitsu and talent here is amazing. By far one of the better places to train in Maryland. The coaches here train you to pay attention to the small details that will eventually put your game at a higher level than your competition. Especially if you're a smaller fighter like me.

I have been a student at Infinite Fighting Concepts for over 4 years. Training at IFC has been a really interesting and rewarding experience. Like most new students, I was nervous walking through the door for the first time, not sure what I had signed up for and not sure how/if I would fit in. Coach Gordon and the other instructors immediately made me feel welcome. Coach Gordon and his instructors all have a unique combination of knowledge, teaching ability, and humor. They do a fantastic job helping you learn both specific techniques and general principles that enable you to continually progress. You will work hard, learn a lot, and you’ll also laugh. I would also like to say a word about your fellow students. They’re a really fantastic and diverse group. Every student I’ve worked with, from beginner to the most advanced, is always looking to help you out, explaining solutions to problems you may be experiencing, or just helping you to improve generally. If you’re seriously interested in competition or want to challenge yourself and improve your overall fitness I urge you to stop by and speak to one of the staff here at infinite Fighting Concepts. You will never regret your decision!

This is a great place to learn self-defense, build confidence and get a great workout. I started attending classes here at the age of 37 with zero martial arts experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I’ve never been the athletic type. The professors coaches and here were extremely welcoming and encouraging. Two years later, I’m 20 lbs lighter and in the best shape of my life; coupled with also eating better and some additional exercise outside of classes. The coaching staff here is great with training adults and kids at all levels. Professor Jeff Gordon and Evgeny have been encouraging and created an extremely positive and fun training environment for all. Fellow students have been very welcoming and have been great training partners. I look forward to attending every class. Thank you Infinite Fighting Concepts for changing my life!

Coming from someone that played different sports growing up, I’d say Coach Jeff and Evgeny are two of the best instructors I’ve ever had in any field of teaching. The way they can break down concepts and situations for you to not only understand, but apply the information is amazing. The infrastructure is great, the energy is always amazing and everyone is there to “pull as they climb”. Love the staff and being apart of the family!

Expert instructors and an enriching environment. At Infinite, you will find a welcoming spirit for students of all skill levels. There is an excellent childrens' program and adult classes are divided into either beginners or advanced students. Personally, I've realized huge health benefits and weight loss. You will definitely get in better shape and learn correct technique, but the instructors emphasize safety and pacing. Having tried other schools in the area, I can attest that Infinite is one of the best BJJ centers in the DMV.

Moved to the DMV area a couple years ago tried many BJJ schools. I consider the instruction from the coaches like no other. They will teach a technique then build upon it each week. Everyone was friendly and helpful would have kept training here but I live too far away

Awesome place. People are down to practice and help each other. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the best part is, there is no drama. The gym is very clean and spacious. I have only attended class under instructor Jeff but he is very well knowledged and a straight tactician on the floor. I am glad I found this place and can't wait to get better. First steps to an enjoyable adventure and in the right place to do it.

I have served in the US military for over 23 years and have had the opportunity to train in several martial art styles and --- I can honestly attest that this academy is amongst the best martial art schools that I have ever trained at in my life. I began training here after a long hiatus from martial arts and I was graciously welcomed back by the instructors, staff, and students alike. The instructors take time to demonstrate all the technicalities of the different techniques- while at the same time making sure all sparring is conducted in a safe and professional manner. whether you are new to jiu jitsu or returning to the art- this is the perfect place for you. You will love this gym!
