I have just graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, and my school RMCAD allowed me access to Make the Dot for creating mood and concept boards. My favorite thing about the software is the ability to save images at a high resolution from any website. It makes creating a beautiful concept board incredibly easy and fun.

As fashion designers, we have tightly packed calendars with overlapping seasons, so it helps when there are tools that allow us to easily create our vision for the next season. I must say Make the Dot is an amazing tool for creating concept boards. I produced this concept deck quickly and easily, and the resources for the fabric libraries and Pantone color-matching tools were very useful and convenient. My favorite feature is the Chrome extension, which allows you to add images you find in your internet searches. The best part is that the images come with links embedded in the details tab. I see this tool being easily adopted in the fashion industry.

The best part of Make the Dot was how easy it was to use overall and how quickly I could add content. Honestly, I loved all the features, but the extension was my favorite. I've been using it a lot for research on my Portfolio projects.

I personally love the material libraries. Having easy access to materials really helps students like me be more productive during our hectic term time.

One of my favourite things about Make the Dot is definitely the fabric library. It is so important for students to use accurate fabric swatches in their projects, rather than searching on Google or Pinterest, which can often give you a generic image that does not match with the type you're looking for.

I'd normally never visit the fabric suppliers' websites directly, but now that it's embedded within Make the Dot, I love looking up the fabrics before visiting the store because it gives me inspiration and helps conjure up new ideas while I'm designing. I also use it to show the visualization to my teacher before buying the fabric.

After using Make the Dot, I noticed that I started experimenting with more fabric options and novelty fabrics in my design. The experience of browsing and searching digitally is so much easier than going aisle by aisle in the physical shop.

I love Make the Dot because it is so specific to my workflow as a fashion marketing student. I love that I can search for fabrics from all different suppliers and it's so easy to use the Eydropper to match the exact color on the fabric I'm looking for.

Fashion product development encompasses the intricate journey from concept to consumer, requiring meticulous planning, trend analysis, and supply chain management. Meanwhile, fashion design fuels this process with creativity, vision, and a deep understanding of consumer desires. Mastering both disciplines is essential for navigating the dynamic landscape of the fashion industry, ensuring that our designs not only captivate aesthetically but also resonate commercially. Let's continue to embrace the synergy between product development and design as we drive innovation and excellence in the fashion world. Concept board created with Make the Dot

I love the ability to digtize my bag of physical fabrics, and also search for new fabrics in the fabric library. It's like I'm building my own personal fabric collection.

Just love how the "save" button makes my workflow a breeeeze! The ability to save images to any board I am working with as I browse, as well as the ability to move the widget as needed without a break to my concentration is simply perfect.

I always recommend my students to bridge their online to offline fabric research and experiment with different textures before finalizing on a purchase. Even when I'm designing myself, I often use Make the Dot's fabric library to find specific print patterns to complement my concept. It is so convenient!

I really love the fabric libary on Make the Dot not only because you can search specific types of fabric, but it also tells you the source. Previously I used Illustrator to do my concept development but Make the Dot makes it much more streamlined as it's fashion specific.

No other moodboarding tool allows you to take images directly from the website, no matter the source. This is super handy for designers.

Using Make the Dot has made it so much easier for me to keep track of the color palettes that I'm using in my design projects! The details like Hex code and RGB are captured in one place - so when I have to make edits or create modified versions, it is easier for me to find all my design specs in one mood board! #designprocess #moodboard #digitaldesign

Can't rave enough about how Make the Dot is the perfect solution for fashion teams looking to streamline their creative process!! The platform allows me to easily create amazing-looking mood boards that incorporate colors and images, and easily share that inspiration with my clients (who can add their own ideas) and get their feedback. I also love using it as an ideating tool where I can easily collect all my random images and clippings and organize them just as quickly without having to jump between different types of software. :) lnkd.in/g5r3NHsm …see more

This Make the Dot extension is going to keep my workflow much more effective and organized. I am creating a lot of content now. This extension makes it so easy to save and organize my screenshots instead of having them all over the place in different sizes and formats. It's a super cool tool, and I'm glad I found it!

I love building colour palettes on Make the Dot! Arranging the colour palette next to my inspirations gives me a clear idea of where I took the photo and where I got inspiration from. This allows me to connect the dots very easily.

The color palette is really good and something that isn't available in other tools. That's the best feature. Just the ability to have all my colors and codes displayed right in front of me saves a lot of time.

This is just what I needed in terms of simplicity and really helping me organise and be more efficient. Too often I'll see inspiration items and promise to go back to them as I go deeper into a research hole, only to forget or close tabs. This plugin makes it so useful to save and organise into separate boards and making life so much simpler.

I initially compared Make the Dot to Pinterest, which was a mistake because it’s very different. With Make the Dot, I can create clean-looking boards quickly and easily, without being limited by the rigid folder options on Pinterest.
