We had a great moving experience with New City Moving. I got a quote from Rachel super quickly after messaging the business on Yelp. Appointments were really easy to make, although I would recommend having a more official way to confirm appointments and sending receipts (ours was just a composed email).In any case, the movers accommodated a 2-location moving service, and showed up right on time at 8AM. I appreciated how quickly they moved and that they seemed to care about my items. For fragile items and boxes that seemed like they weren't boxed properly, they took the time to wrap and pad items. It was raining pretty heavily on moving day, and we had a lot of stuff, so they understandably moved a bit slower as we finished up the move. In the end everything was moved, nothing was damaged, and they tried to help us put items & furniture in their desired places to minimize unpacking for us.The price was reasonable--$109/hr with a 3 hr minimum. We blew past that pretty easily, but it was still the most reasonably priced option that we got back from RaQ. There were no sneaky add-on charges, so we appreciated how straightforward payment was. No credit card, cash or check only. I don't want to move again, but if I did I'd happily rebook with New City Moving.

Had a great experience with this company. Best prices. I reached out to maybe about 10 moving companies lol. Also the two movers were fast and efficient. Didn't dilly dally at all. One guy moved most of the things out of my one bed room one bath apartment while the other guy was inside the truck fitting things inside.I even asked them to help move a couch from one room to the other and at another time asked them to switch a tv from one room to another as well and they were very nice about it. One of them spoke English decently while the other did not. Overall it took about 4.5 hours between an east bay to south bay move including travel time which is excellent!Would definitely use them again for another move!

Communication and scheduling was easy thru yelp messages. It's was raining the day of the move, 2 movers arrived on time. Both very friendly and efficient, however their English was a little limited so we had to be creative and keep it simple or write things on the phone when needed. I moved a 2-bedroom apt into a 3-bedroom home. They blanket and plastic wrapped my furniture and most of the items that were not in boxes. I was surprised my belongings did not really get wet with the rain. They set up the furniture at the new location and did a great job.Their price is fair and the service was great. I'm glad I used them and would definitely recommend.

So fast, efficient, communicative, trustworthy, and reliable. They showed up on time for my same day (1 hr prior oops) move request and got everything done 1 hour earlier than expected, with zero issues, even in tonight's stormy weather. i forgot to pack up some expensive electronics personally since I was couldn't make it to the pickup and was coordinating from drop off point; nothing was touched.They were also super helpful with overall logistics including a stuck lock I couldn't figure out myself. They went out of their way for details such as: helping me put down floor waterproofing before unpacking my things and moving them in, and rearranging already moved in large items so everything was on waterproofed flooring. I also appreciated that I felt 100% safe even as a single woman meeting them at a dark storage unit building at 7-8pm w no one around. Overall great experience, absolutely no stress for me. Planning on hiring them again for future apartment moves already!

AMAZING! I requested quotes from lots of company and this place had fair pricing beating all other places. Also, their location range is all over the Bay Area. Rachel is very responsive and helpful! She made the scheduling and coordination very easy.The movers spent 5 hours total picking up items from my bf's apartment, storage, and then finally to our house. They were fast and efficient, but ensured everything was safely delivered. We requested not to use the dolly when bringing up furniture upstairs due to our stairs being fragile and wooden and they happily accommodated us, although I know it wasn't the best for them. They charged us fairly and we're honest which was also a plus of course! All the workers were phenomenal and had a smile on their face. It means a lot as it made our move and experience better!

Let me start out by saying that I have moved quite a few times in my lifetime. By far, New City has been my best experience and for many reasons:1. They were a reasonable cost.2. They were reliable and showed RIGHT ON TIME.3. They worked quickly and were complete within the estimated time frame.4. They were very polite and had great attitudes.5. They treated my belongings with respect. 6. There were no hidden fees or costs. I highly recommend!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about New City Moving! I originally had booked my move with another company, only to have them cancel on me because I lived in the city and it is hard to find parking there. So I was scrambling to find a new company to help with my move and New City Moving not only responded quickly but they told me no issue with the parking. On the morning of the move, they came promptly and was 30 mins early. They were unable to find parking at my complex but was patient and didn't get frustrated at the situation. We quickly found a place to temporary stop and they were able to get my stuff into the truck rather quickly. Quick note is that there might be a language barrier since I don't think the movers are natural English speakers, but lucky for my, my dad was able to communicate with them.They do have a 3 hour minimum but we finished around the 3 hour mark anyways for a small studio.  They were able to move my furniture up the stairs with no problem. They even helped me assemble my bed straight from the box. I highly recommend them and I'm happy that I could help support small businesses like New City Moving!

New City Movers helped us move a 2br 2ba locally and I cannot understate how satisfied I am with their help. We were able to schedule them on a Saturday when I called that Thursday. Their rates are far lower than any other quote I could find in the area. The movers arrived on time. They were courteous of things I asked them not to move and stayed away from the room our pets were staying in. We got the move done in 5 hours and they worked dutifully the entirety of that time.I don't think our movers were very confident in their English, but their communication was amazing! They communicated through every step of the process and were very polite.I cannot recommend these movers enough to anyone who needs quick and affordable moving help in The Bay.

Fast and easy booking process. Everything was organized on Yelp and Rachel was so helpful,  responded to everything within 5min. Movers called when they were outside, on time. Movers are good and also wrap your items to prevent damage. We had a bunch of loose items that they boxed up for us as well. They moved our entire apartment down/up a floor in 4 hours. They disassemble and reassemble furniture as well. They speak English and Chinese but prefer Chinese (mandarin).Best price and great movers would recommend. And no hidden fees!

I thought this moving company was too good to be true. Our move was 2 weeks ago, and they are amazing and the best deal in town. They were professional, fast, and wonderful to work with. They charged $20-170 less PER HOUR than every other local mover and were very straight forward and easy to contact. They quickly responded to me with a quote, booked over the phone, and confirmed in advance. They didn't hassle me for an inventory of furniture, pictures, an inspection, etc., and when I tried to describe the heaviest pieces to the person on the phone she very kindly assured me they were familiar with moving and would have all the necessary equipment. The day of the move, they arrived on time, packaged everything wonderfully, and worked tirelessly with such positive attitudes on a stressful day. This moving company is a hidden gem. I look forward to using them again when I move back to the city.

Absolutely the best movers in my opinion.  I've used moving services 4 times before New City Moving...with 2 of the 4 previous move having major damages to my furniture, and the other 2 with subpar protecting the furniture and we simply got lucky with no issues.  These guys were incredibly careful and wrapped everything securely.  We had no issues at all.  Our move was a 2hr drive between cities and their guys worked from morning to late afternoon, with great care and were pleasant the entire way through.  We had to request for them to take a break at times. I will not go with any other moving service for as long as I'm in their service area!

We scheduled a move about 3 weeks ahead of the move date. The communication was extremely prompt at all times of the day and the price was HALF of the next lowest quote. When the move came. They where extremely friendly. Caring and communicative. They loaded all our stuff carefully and made sure to ask where things should go upon arrival of the new home. They added protective padding to the floor of my new place and carried a bunch of stuff upstrais with no gripe.If I ever move again. I will certainly use them without hesitation

Great job! I was super impressed by their speed and creativity while moving my large piano. There was a slight language barrier but they knew how to communicate with us.
