Wall of love for MedQbank
It was my first time taking the PLE, so I didn’t exactly know how to study and what are the most high-yield topics in PLE. Thank God I found Dr. Avillo’s twitter wherein I found out that he also made some qbanks for the PLE. I was hesitant at first kasi madami pa akong aaralin na topics and di pa ako tapos sa lahat ng handouts. But I really took the risk and tried studying his qbanks the way he advised on how to properly study it. I was really grateful that I was able to study it. It really helped me a lot in PLE. Nalaman ko kung anong mga high-yield topics at na review ko yun before PLE. I was also able to eliminate a lot of choices during PLE and eventually got the correct answer because I read it in his qbanks. That’s why I really recommend buying this book. The way the author made the questions and the format of the book wherein you can see the answer and rationale right away can really help you prepare for the boards. It can lessen your anxiety, and you will also learn some test taking skills while answering the qbanks. This book is really worth your money and time.

I highly recommend getting doc Avillo's QBank Reviewer. I took the boards 5 times before passing this March 2023. And I must say that the question bank really helped me boost my confidence and also strengthen some concepts. Before I learned about the QBank, I was hesitating to take the boards again as my grades on my review center is quite low to mid, and as a repeater, your confidence to take it again with below average grade is quite scary. Glad that I learned about it. :) The questions and answers are straight to the point and easy to understand so it'll be easy for those who needs their last minute brush up. Again, thank you, doc, for the Question Bank. This is highly recommended for everyone who wants to pass or excel the boards :)

Hello Doc!
First of all, thank you po for creating MedQbank. It greatly helped me strengthen concepts I wasn’t yet confident in.
Before using MedQbank, one of my biggest challenges was not knowing what to expect, how questions were structured, how difficult they would be, and how long the case scenarios might be.
What I appreciated the most were the detailed rationales, the helpful tables, and the accessibility of the platform. Even without my iPad or laptop, I could easily review and answer questions on my phone at my convenience.
What makes MedQbank truly stand out is how it includes questions from previous batches not just recent ones which allowed me to see patterns, understand how concepts are tested, and compare how topics are approached across different seasons.
Before MedQbank, I was just an intern unsure if I could make it through the PLE, lost, anxious, and overwhelmed by the pressure of what lay ahead.
But now, I can proudly say that I made it to the other side. I am now a licensed MD.
Thank you, MedQbank, for equipping us with knowledge and for serving as an excellent preparation tool for the actual boards.
Also, thank you, Doc Karl, for posting questions on Telegram. I always looked forward to answering them, and the mistakes I made helped me remember the concepts better and not forget them anymore and actually helped me during the medboards.

MedQbank was by far the most effective style of studying that I have tried, mainly because of its active learning concept.
A lot of times, especially for someone like me who has a very short attention span, Reading through chapters and attending lectures was not effective at all.
With MedQbank I was able to retain information much better, faster, and most of all it improved my test taking skills.
Overall I would recommend medqbank 10 over 10 either as a stand alone review source or as a complementary question bank along with your other review sources.

While MedQbank is an incredible resource, the absolute best part was the mentorship. No matter how many MCQs I worked through, having a mentor who never failed to offer guidance made the real difference.
I’ll never forget the first message I received: 'I believe you can make it this time.' That belief kept me going.
Of course, the platform itself is excellent—the direct rationales for every choice helped me truly understand the material rather than just memorizing answers.
Thank you so much Doc Karl, that one message stuck to my chord. God Bless You and the MedQbank Family.

Choosing MedQBank is one decision I will never regret.
It really helped me master my testmanship skills and gave me tons of helpful mnemonics that made studying so much easier. It guided me on what areas to focus on, especially when everything feels overwhelming.
I am so glad because, as someone who had little confidence in passing the board exam, this really motivated me to start answering test questions even before my formal review.
Nakaka-addict siya in a good way—you’ll keep pushing yourself to get higher scores until you achieve excellent results.
Because of this, my study became more efficient and focused.
Also, Doc Karl’s study advice was incredibly helpful—sobrang practical and motivating, and it really kept me on track throughout my review.
Thank you, Doc Karl and the whole team, for helping me pass the board exam in one take! Thank you talaga ng marami.
Highly recommended for anyone preparing for their exams!

The platform really made a big difference in how I study. The rationalization after each practice tests are helpful, it doesn’t just tell me the correct answer but explains why it’s correct and why the other choices are wrong. This really deepens my understanding and helps me retain concepts better.
I also appreciate how the questions are structured, which makes me feel more confident and prepared. It trains my test-taking skills, improves my critical thinking, and highlights my weak areas so I know what to focus on.
Because of MedQBank, studying feels more guided and efficient. It’s like having a mentor while reviewing. Super helpful especially during cramming season!
Thank you so much for creating such a valuable resource. God bless po and more power! 💖💕M.D. NA PO AKO 🥹🙏🏻

It took me two PLE attempts with MedQbank and I finally made it on the second one.
On my first attempt last Oct 2025, I subscribed to MQB in the middle of the 2-month review and I remember wishing I gave into it earlier.
I actually used MedQbank the way Doc Karl recommended on our 1-on-1 mentoring session on Zoom—answering a practice test first, then going through the rationales alongside my handouts and review books. BUT at the same time, I was trying to do everything with so little time.
I had MedQbank on top of watching lectures and going through handouts from two different review centers, so my focus was divided. I was stuck on the thought of trying to "complete" everything and the fear of missing out on a specific resource.
When I didn’t pass just by a few points, that’s when things became clearer. I COULD pass, it's not impossible.
For my March 2026 retake, I changed my approach completely. I stopped obsessing over finishing handouts and accepted that I didn’t have the luxury of time or perfect preparation. Instead, I focused almost entirely on what's left of my time with MedQbank. That's where my review revolves.
I made it a habit to answer questions daily—even on days when I felt so depressed.
Even if it's just 10 questions, as long as there are some. But more than just answering, I really spent time understanding the rationales. Even with just 10 questions a day, I tried to spend an hour studying everything I could connect to just one question's rationale by revisiting my old handouts and notes. That's when I realized that it's not enough to just know the “right answer”. You need to understand why that's right, why the others are wrong, and how he or she could possibly pass the exam.
What helped me the most was how the questions trained me to make an educated guess on stuff I am not well-versed with. Hindi siya puro recall. It forces you to compare choices, recognize patterns, and pick the best answer and that's exactly how the PLE has been evolving.
As I grew up, the way of questioning became familiar, even if the exact topic isn't necessarily the same.
There were days I felt like I was barely doing anything, especially compared to the “ideal” review plan. I failed to stick with my schedule. I wasn’t rewatching lectures, I wasn’t rereading handouts. But I trusted the process of answering, rationalizing, then repeat.
Come the actual exam, I felt it even if there was a shift to a 2 or 3-step way of questioning.. Ang daming questions na hindi ko man directly na-review, pero alam ko paano i-approach because of how I practiced with MedQbank, aside from the rigorous training in clerkship and internship. Hindi man exact recalls, pero the reasoning felt familiar.
The time I took for rationales was paying off while I was facing each question.
I wouldn’t say it was a perfect review season. It was really far from it. It took me so long to get back up and to try again. But MedQbank, along with a 2-week final coaching with a review center, somehow gave me structure when I couldn’t stick to one. It trained me in the exact skill that mattered most which was test-taking with understanding.
This March 2026, I passed. Praise be to God. I stopped trying to do everything, prioritized my well-being and relationship with God, then focused on doing practice tests well.
Thank you, Doc Karl! It was worth the penny!

That is why to all the future PLE takers, I highly recommend MedQBank and utilize most if not all of their questions as much as possible. Once again thank you so much Doc Karl and to the rest of the MedQBank Team! You played a huge part in this amazing achievement.

I would like to say maraming salamat po—MedQbank has been super helpful, as it provides well-constructed questions that are very useful during review.
I'm truly thankful that I enrolled in MedQbank, as many of the questions aligned with those from my review center—focusing on the must-knows.

When I was first took the boards I was clueless on what syle of studying would work for me. Im not the type that learns much from lenghty lectures and reading handouts. So in my first 4 takes of the boards I failed with scores below 60.
I was not a stellar student also durig my medical school days by the way. Studying harder seems not to be working for me. It was frustrating that I could not even get a passing score in any of the subjects in the boards.
Then I saw an ad for MedQBank and watch some of Doc Karl's videos, at first I was skeptical that answering questions would help one pass the boards, but I gave it a try and it was here that I found a study style that suits me and that I found out that I learn best from doing practice test.
MedQBank helped me as their style of questioning is based on board exam type topics and by doing practice test I was able to develop my critical thinking on how to direct and attack each board question.
So during the actual boards I would always remind myself that Im taking a practice test of MedQBank so I won't be so anxious and truly at my 6th take of the boards and doing MedQBank for a time I finally passed it.

Doc Karl Avillo's MedQBank reinforced my weaknesses by making the knowledge I knew tailor to the type of questioning the boards entail.
The website was user-friendly and it really simulated the boards condition by having an in-built timer. The rationale also contain references so I could easily check where to read from the source material books and understand the topics fully.
Thank you to MedQBank for providing a way to test my knowledge gaps! 10/10 Would recommend!
