Wall of love for Product League

A couple of months ago I started the mentorship program of Product League and I got Ben Wang as a mentor. It was the first time that I found myself on the mentee side and I must say that it was a refreshing experience -> to my PM friends, you should try it at least once in your career 🌈 My weekly meeting with Ben helped me gain a new perspective on my product leadership skills. In our discussion, we identified the areas that could help my PM group become more independent and empowered. We also discussed best practices and methodologies for creating new products and advancing mature products. The seeds we planted will also grow into something meaningful in the future 🌳 The program ended and I will miss our meetings - I would like to use this platform to say thank you to Ben - I appreciate your ability to listen, your direct opinions, and your suggestions on how I can improve as a PM and manager. My best wishes go out to you, and I'm sure that all future mentees you work with will succeed!

Product League's Summer 2022 batch ended a few weeks ago, and now that I’ve had some time to reflect, I wanted to share some of the valuable insights I learned during my time with my mentor: ✨ At the end of the day, every single thing we do as product managers comes down to people and understanding what drives them, what worries them, and what they need. ✨ Practice empathy not only for your users, but also for your stakeholders and your dev team. ✨ Don't focus on the data you have; focus on the data you need. Start with understanding what are your most important business/product questions, then work on a plan to achieve the relevant data. ✨ Be proactive about communicating the rationale behind your decision-making, it will make any discussion better. ✨ Treat your own time as you would your product - create focus by clearly stating to yourself and others what's out of scope and you aren't planning to do. I'm probably a little bit late from a calendar perspective👀, but you can never be late when saying a couple of honest and friendly words about valuable people and communities. Last November, I completed the Product League Summer Batch 2022, which is the Product Management program intended for Product Managers from different industries, countries, and levels to improve their knowledge through personalized work with assigned mentors. We all know that the best expertise transfer happens when there is a great match between mentee and mentor in terms of expectations, energy, tempo, dedication, and carrier path(and many more). That's exactly what I experienced with my mentor. Thank you, mentor Viktor Nagy, for all the patience and flexibility, knowledge, practical tips&tricks, guidance, advice, tricky tasks, simplifications of my challenges, and a lot of instructive stories during those 4.5 months! Hope that you are still fine after the huge mountain of my questions! 🙋‍♀️ Even though this was an online journey and we were miles away, I am really glad that we managed to have one offline PM coffee in Budapest! Besides the work with a mentor, there were also joint sessions, lectures, and tasks with other hungry-for-knowledge Product Managers that were in the same PM sauce as I was. All of the previously mentioned couldn't be done without the great organization of the whole program and the support of the orange crew, so thank you, Moriya Kassis, Diana, Amit, and others! Proud to be a part of this community, grateful for meeting all of these people, and looking forward to new collaborations, constructive discussions, and opportunities! ✔

Being a part of the Product League community as a mentor has been an amazingly enriching experience for me. I have recently concluded my mentorship of Jennifer Noa Bellahsen ג'ניפר נעה בלחסן through Product League. Jennifer is a talented Product Manager who has recently started a new journey as a freelancer. During our mentorship, we focused on building her skills and confidence in this new role. I've been mentoring Prabhu Konchada for a couple of months now through Product League, and I just finally got their awesome swag to show off with 🦄 This makes for a great opportunity to tell you how awesome Prabhu is as a mentee and as a product manager! He's super diligent, smart and practical and it's a privilege to witness his growth as a product leader, week after week. I'm mostly helping Prabhu apply the same product principles that he already knows, in new ways that he never considered - to improve his overall performance in work and in life, and the results of his hard work is pretty astounding.
