I’m really glad I attended the Python course taught by Octavian. It offers a perfect combination of theory and plenty of practical exercises, which help in understanding the language. I was struggling with some of the more advanced concepts of C++. The theme of good best practices in C++ attracted me to this program. The interesting exercises were the most valuable part of the program. This program increased my confidence in making useful C++ programs. Octavian is always engaged with his students, and his exercises were exceptional.

I liked his C++ course, it helped me to refresh my memory related to concepts of the C++ language. His patience was the thing that stands out, and it was really helpful to beginners attending his course.

I was considering possibly changing careers from nursing to something related to health analytics, however, many positions I looked at preferred candidates with experience with Python and SQL. Some of my professors also suggested learning these languages. I had zero experience. When I tried searching the internet for resources to learn these on my own, I became overwhelmed and felt that I needed someone to guide me. That was when I came across one of Octavian's posts on LinkedIn where he mentioned this mentorship program. After expressing interest, he contacted me and helped set this up. He was very patient with me throughout the mentorship and provided constructive criticism and positive feedback that helped me learn. I am starting to see connections between what I have learned in this mentorship and the health informatics concepts I have learned in my Master's in Health Informatics program. At this point in time, I still have the final project left, however, I am hopeful that this project will help showcase my knowledge when I apply to a health analytics or nursing informatics role.
