Wall of love for Quimbee Bar Review

For all you studiers, I sincerely hope you're managing your emotional/mental health ABOVE ALL ELSE. I have studied for and taken some version of the bar 3 times now. The first two in CA (first time with one of the big name prep brands and the second with a tutor) and this last time in the Virgin Islands with Quimbee. The hardest part is believing in yourself. If you can get that drilled into your brain (even if you don't all the way believe it, make it your mantra) you will pass. And take every practice test you can, including essays, multiple choice, and a handful of MPTs. All of that said, with the big name brand and the private tutor, my most pleasant study experience was with Quimbee. And I was working full time while studying, which I did not have to do the first 2 times. Quimbee's content is diverse (videos and outlines and practice MCs, essays, etc), the schedule is manageable, and the user experience is seamless. It was so easy to cross between the web and the app version without losing where you left off. If I could be the reason anyone chose Quimbee - which I believe is a lot cheaper than the alternatives - I would be happy. Sending you all positive energy and a reminder that you've got this!

Currently using Quimbee and I’m a pretty big fan. Good diagnostics, good amount of graded essays (6 MEEs, 1 MPT), and like 2500ish questions to go over. I mean, it’s bar prep, so it’s not like it’s fun, but I can’t complain.

I’m a New Hampshire test taker and I took almost 3 weeks off from studying for the bar (wedding & honeymoon) and I passed with Quimbee! I found Quimbee made bar prep so simple. Because of this, I was less stressed for the bar and it made me more prepared. I’m someone who over stresses to the point of loss of functioning so if that sounds like you— use Quimbee! I was able to finish more tasks than assigned each day and so even with a long break (and several distractions along the way, tw: I had an early miscarriage) I was still able to complete over 70% of coursework and feel prepared enough that I was confident walking in on exam day. Side note: if you want the chillest environment for the exam, come to NH Quimbee gave me the tools to self evaluate and self grade so I almost knew (see curve 🥸) that I had passed when I left the building that day. I had confidence and knowledge (the entirety of security transactions lessons memorized) to feel like I mastered the test. Note to 1L: start using Quimbee now and I mean now (don’t make the same mistakes I did and think you can do it all on your own)

Tl;dr Quimbee is worth giving a chance if you're looking for a more inexpensive option. I was hesitant to consider Quimbee because I don't hear about it much in the bar prep world and it's cheaper price tag made me wonder if I'd be getting less. I chose to use the 6-month, part-time study schedule because I had an easy 3L spring and because the idea of 8 hour days over the summer was miserable. While this worked for me, I don't think it would work well for everyone. I mention it because it's nice to have as an option. Be warned that if you start out on the part-time schedule, you can't change to the full-time schedule without starting over. As far as materials go, I found Quimbee's materials to be surprisingly thorough. The outlines in particular are very comprehensive and well-written. I wish the "quicklines" had examples in them like the outlines do. They send paper books of the multiple choice and essay questions, which honestly felt unnecessary and more of a pain to dispose of later. The videos feel rapid-fire at times and you will probably suspect that you aren't absorbing as much as you'd like to be. Personally, I never slowed them down or took notes because I think where Quimbee really shines is its library of multiple choice questions and explanations. For me, these filled in any gaps that came from the videos. There are some technical quirks you'll have to familiarize yourself with early on, but they aren't that bad. Quimbee by far feels the most modern and sleek out of other programs, and the mobile app is okay when you are tired of studying in the same place and want to change things up. I think the worst thing I encountered with it was that if you do a diagnostic and start a retake on it -- whether intentionally or unintentionally -- you will be locked out of your previous attempts. I once did a 100 question diagnostic and lost the whole thing because of this, and support was unhelpful. I passed J23 and was happy with my score. My MBE score mostly tracked my percentages in Quimbee's diagnostics. I'm glad I saved the money because the experience was no more painful than any competitor. There isn't a lot of good guidance out there on Quimbee's viability so I thought I'd share my experiences. Happy to answer any questions about it for anybody considering it.

While all of my friends were deciding between Barbri and Themis I took a chance and used Quimbee. I am really happy I did. If you are someone who needs room to create your own study schedule I high recommend Quimbee. The outlines are also MASSIVE in comparison to other study programs. This is a positive and a negative. They can be overwhelming and I ended up supplementing my program with the Studicata MEE Attack Outline. However, for video lectures I was really happy with Quimbee. Everyone else was listening to lecturers, but having the little animated videos really helped with memory retention. I ended up passing the bar with a score high enough to practice in any UBE jurisdiction. So I highly recommend Quimbee.

Full disclosure that I'm partially doing this for the $25 they offer, but I also jumped on the extra incentives to share my experience and hopefully help others in the future. Short answer is yes, Quimbee Bar Prep+ is highly reliable and does its job well in a time-efficient manner. I didn't do that well in law school and didn't study as hard as I wanted (was working and had some unexpected family situations) but I passed the bar in the 300s. I picked Quimbee for economical reasons: with ABA discount and having used Quimbee study guides all throuhgout law school, it ended up being a little over $400 out of pocket for me. Having paid that price for my main bar prep, I comfortably splurged on Adaptibar (another $400) which supplemented my studying very nicely. To be fair, Quimbee probably has nearly as many NCBE-licensed questions in its bank, but I much preferred Adaptibar's format. Pro: Great videos that are short, clear, and to the point, and beautifully animated to grab your attention. Many examples in the videos are taken from the fact pattern of actual past bar exams questions (I recognized them when they appeared in Adaptibar) so you are getting a taste of real exam questions as well. Transcripts to the videos are also provided, which were VERY helpful for me in making my own outlines (I found that making my own charts and outlines helped me memorize things) Organized study schedule that is time-efficient and never too overwhelming, with Sundays off. I was working 20+ hours a week during the 10 weeks of studying for the bar with the exception of the very last week. In the first 8 weeks, I never really had to do an 8-hour day. In the last two weeks, I studied 8-9 hours a day. I still passed. Quimbee does a really good job cutting out all the fluffs and just get straight to the bare-bone black letter law. Honestly, that's all you ever need to do well on either the MBE or MEE portions. Super nice, friendly, and very responsive support staff. I can come to them at any time with either questions about the substantive law or technical issues. MPTs and MEEs practices that were graded by actual humans were nice, with a ton of flexibility to submit them. I didn't do them until 2 weeks before the bar exam itself. Feedbacks were helpful and encouraging. Wish there were more practices and more detailed feedback though. Con: I really hope they add more materials to the Civil Procedure section. There were so many questions on Adaptibar on topics that Quimbee just never covered for me. Perhaps I didn't really need to know that much because I still passed with rooms to spare, but it would have been mainly for confidence. In contrast, there was way too much unnecessary materials in Wills, Trusts, and Estate. It was clear to me that the team that was responsible for the content got to Wills, Trusts, and Estate last and just gave up and scrambled to publish the bar prep program. The latter half was just a bunch of law with no examples, and was clearly materials that would never get tested because they are just too obscure (Advance Directives, really???). I'm sure this has to do with them being a new bar prep program and they will continue to improve in this aspect though.

Passed NY Bar with a 286 I used Quimbee prep which was cheaper than most bar preps and definitely helped me more than self studying would have. The videos are great and the practice exams were super useful. Didn’t do as well in the MBE (133) so the MEE definitely saved me. Good luck to all in February. 1 Comment Share

I thought Quimbee was solid and scored north of 300 on the July bar exam. If you’ve used it and enjoyed Quimbee during law school, I think it’s worth it.

As the title says, full disclosure is that my main motivation for writing this review is the $25 Amazon gift card. I'm cheap and I'm not going to turn down $25. However, that is not a secret to anyone on this subreddit who sees all the Quimbee reviews. Here is my honest review: I used Quimbee throughout law school. I used a variety of their products, ranging from flashcards to outlines, but I mostly used them to save me time on briefing my cases. I loved the product, and I felt grateful to Quimbee for getting me through law school, so when bar prep rolled around, I decided that I was not going to turn my back on them. I also had $250 in bar prep credit from being a subscriber, on top of their bar prep being significantly cheaper than the other big names in bar prep. I did the 6 month course, starting in January of my 3L year, because I had to work full time during bar prep. I found the schedule very reasonable. For the first half of the program, it is mostly lectures, with MBE and essay practice scattered throughout. If you used Quimbee during law school, you will appreciate their short videos. For me, I am someone who has a hard time sitting down and listening to a long lecture, so the short video format seemed tailormade for me. During law school, I hardly ever learned anything from attending class, because I have attention problems. Most of what I learned came from reading the materials and asking professors individualized questions. I don't think hour long lectures would work for me, so Quimbee hit the sweet spot for me. Plus, the cartoons are engaging and often entertaining. I would find myself laughing out loud at some of the depictions. After awhile, Quimbee incorporates more MBE and essay practice. I paid for the bar review +. They have more than enough NCBE questions and compare to any other bar company in that regard. Quimbee's questions are also very similar to what you will find on the actual bar exam. The proof is in my bar results. I scored very high on the MBE (161.4). You get an opportunity to perform a full practice MBE and 4 100 Q diagnostics. My final two diagnostics were very close to how I actually performed on the bar. As far as essays go, they do prepare you well. You practice essays multiple times a week, including, on average, about 1 MPT a week (sometimes more). You have the opportunity to submit 5 graded MEEs and 1 graded MPT. In my personal feedback to Quimbee after I passed the bar, I did state that in the future I think it would be helpful to have more graded feedback than this. That said, the feedback I did get back was very productive, and the grades I received eerily reflected how I actually scored on the bar. I think there could be more instruction on completing MPTs successfully, but I did fine on the actual bar. That's just a suggestion for Quimbee in the future. Using this program and working full time, I never felt like I was truly overwhelmed. Doing the 6 month program really helped with that. It was very manageable timewise and workload-wise. Like any bar prep program, it's not enough just to passively do the assignments and check boxes. You have to go back and review your work and identify why you got questions wrong, why you got questions right, and why you got questions right for the wrong reason. Quimbee breaks down how you perform by subject, so after I identified my weaknesses (Evidence and Con Law), I was able to go back and rewatch those lecture videos and read the outlines until those subjects became a strength of mine. I did order the physical books, and they are beautifully bounded. I do appreciate reading a physical outline over a computer screen. However, it is mostly just stuff that you already have access to on their website, so I don't know that the physical books are truly necessary except as a personal preference. I would encourage Quimbee to add more content with their physical books. Anyways, what ultimately matters is that I used Quimbee and passed the bar with a high enough score to transfer to any UBE jurisdiction: Ohio Overall: 301 Written: 139.3 (average MEE: 3.5; average MPT: 3.0) MBE: 161.4 Take that for what you will. Ultimately how you study and what works for you is what should guide your decision when it comes to bar prep, but feel free to use this review as a resource in making that decision. Just got CA bar results back last week and passed. The only prep I paid for was Quimbee bar review and clearly it was enough. I don't know by what margin I passed because CA does not tell you, but I feel the prep course was totally manageable and was on par with what my friends had to say about Themis or Barbri. Quimbee offers great discounts if you sign up early and I highly recommend using them if you enjoy their case brief videos and explanations. All in all I truly have no complaints and would use Quimbee again, thankfully I don't have to.

Hi everyone! Good luck to everyone getting results. I hope you’re fighting off the pre-results anxiety as much as possible. Quick plug for Quimbee (I want that $25 gift card). If you are going to a firm that is paying for your bar prep, Quimbee offered a $750 gift Amazon card if the firm is direct billed. I think other services offered this but it’s worth noting. I’m sure they will continue offering this incentive in order to keep expanding into the bar prep world. Admittedly, I was a little nervous about Quimbee. Everyone seems to go with the big names in bar prep, so I felt nervous about going against the grain. But I decided to go with Quimbee because they helped me succeed in law school (finished in the top 10 percent). I figured they could get me through the bar as well. I was right. I ended up passing in the 300s almost exclusively using Quimbee. I also had critical pass flash cards but felt they had no impact on my recall ability on test day. I believe you can pass just using Quimbee because their written materials are solid & easy to memorize. The written materials, particularly the quick-lines (condensed outlines) provided for easy review when you can’t take the massive outline readings. The course was rigorous as it includes 4-6 hours of active learning followed by about 2-4 hours of reading. But I don’t think that’s an anomaly in the bar world. The multiple choice practice was solid with a decent amount of licenses, but the quimbee curated questions seemed to be a little off the mark compared to MBE questions. It really helps with its massive bank of unscheduled and scheduled MPTs & MEEs. I wish they had more graded MPTs though; there was just one. They also provide simple strategy tips for each area of the test. I liked how they didn’t overcomplicate strategy. Also, worth mentioning that I could fit quimbee’s course into a summer that consisted of traveling between states, moving apartments, and getting married. Overall, I’d recommend Quimbee for anyone who liked it during law school and is familiar with its style.

The essay parts are good but you see almost exclusively model answers, instead of actual answers and my grades for the graded essays varied really widely. I supplemented it with the Bar MD final forecast because I was nervous about the essay portion, but honestly, it was necessary for anything other than a confidence boost. I finished 84% of quimbee bar review. It was was cheaper than all of the other bar review courses (I bought it early in the fall and applied my quimbee discount and ABA discount and it was about a grand, definitely buy it early if it is accessible for you!). I am not a quimbee rep, just really happy with my bar review course :)

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to Quimbee in helping me pass the bar on the first try! I used it for CA bar prep and passed and was obviously ecstatic. I used them over Barbri or Themis and am now sure it was the right choice. The videos were all short and as interesting as possible given the material. The books were super helpful and not just a printed version of what is online. The mbe questions and graded essays were well-paced and the explanations were all pretty clear. 10/10 for Quimbee Bar Review +

Just putting it out there for anybody who’s looking at Bar review courses, I took the PA bar after using Quimbee bar review + and scored a 297 on my first try. I spent about 6 to 8 hours, studying every day for the recommended period of time and had a few extra days left over at the end of the course to go over outlines. The videos were great. They had a lot of practice multiple choice questions which was very helpful, and the feedback on the written assignments was clutch. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a Bar review course at a more affordable price without sacrificing results.
