I work with a small financial literacy nonprofit that uses a ruby/rails website for our program. I love what Railsdevs does for the community and can appreciate Joe’s deliberate efforts towards inclusivity. Having an open source codebase is great for a number of reasons but what I love about it the most is that it gives junior engineers (and experienced engineers!) a lens into a non-trivial app’s innards. As someone building out an engineering team, I’ve been able to find a talented senior engineer who was able to make contributions to our team immediately. I’m excited to see how the project evolves over time!
