The appeal is how quickly a plain wood blank becomes unmistakably personal. A crisp burn keeps the lettering connected to the material instead of sitting on top of it—and the fire portion adds just enough shop theater to keep things civilized.

It is the best thing that ever happened. It is a lot easier than trying to do wood burning.

I’ve been using Scorch Marker with custom stencils as an alternative to a branding iron for my sculptural furniture. I especially love that I can change the stencil depending on the piece — my logo, QR code, client names, dates, etc.

Here's my first real project with this paint. This is a pine state plaque I made. I've been practicing on pine for two reasons. Inexpensive, and I understand that pine is one of the most difficult wood to use this product on. My thinking is if I can get successful with pine, hardwoods should be a breeze. So, the first photo (with the single design) was sanded from 60 grit up thru 800 grit. Pre treated with the provided Pre Treatment. Used a vinyl stencil with a little repositionable adhesive and applied the paint with a small makeup sponge. Heated with a heat gun. No problems at all. Went exactly as the instructions promised 👍🏼 Very sharp crisp lines.I'm very happy with the results. It's a little bit deceiving in the photo because the stencil had built in "hair" which makes it look like bleeding, but it didn't bleed a bit. I'd give a 5-star rating, but can't figure out how to do that🤷♂️. As a little followup, since pine is boring (IMO), I thought I'd try to get some stain involved. Didn't quite work out as I'd hoped. The second photo shows the same original burn (on the right of the two)when I tried to apply oil-based stain over the top of the design. Stain seemed to dissolve the burn paint. Then I burned the same design OVER the stain once it dried. A little better but still a little funky. (I'd appreciate any advice on the stain issue)Again, the products worked 100 % as advertised. And is WAY easy when following directions and going slow and easy. ( I did discover I was using way too much paint). I'm gaining ground each time tho. So there's that 😊

We had so much fun and we are all happy for our new addiction. We enable each other all the time with new crafts to do.
I am using my boards for Christmas gifts, but I'm going to be making more things too!
Thanks for a wonderful product.

We made a Christmas ornament as a practice piece. We think it turned out pretty good! Now we have so many ideas for the upcoming holiday season! Thank you so much for taking the frustration out of wood burning!

I am making an epoxy cherry wood inlay table. The cherry wood is from a tree that has been in our family since before 1930, making the table to commemorate the history. I used scorch paint and a scorch marker with a stencil. I used the heat gun from Scorch Marker Co., and the drawing came to life. Using scorch paint, if you can draw it or stencil it the projects are limitless.

I made a cutting board for a house warming gift. I used my Cricut cutting machine to make the stencils and used Scorch Marker Pre Treatment and Scorch Marker Pen for the design. Then coated it with 2 coats of food grade mineral oil. After mineral oil was completely absorbed into the wood and dried I added a coat of beeswax for butcher block counters h cutting boards. My 1st attempt was bad. The Scorch Marker bled into the wood grain so I did my research and ordered the Scorch Marker Pre Treatment. Needless to say I am very pleased with the outcome.

I made a bamboo cutting board. I used the hand sanding kit, the pretreatment, Scorch Paint, and the finishing oil. It was my first project. I am hooked. I will make more cutting boards, and I am brainstorming for more projects.

I used a live edge piece of basswood and sublimated a picture of our past dogs and our current puppy. Once it was sublimated I used Scorch Marker to burn around the edges of the picture to give that rustic look. Of course I used my Scorch Marker heat gun to burn the wood quickly. Once I had all of it done I took a cloth and rubbed off some of the burn area to make it look more authentic. Then completed the piece with Scorch Marker finishing oil.
Thank you Scorch Marker for all of your products. I was able to make the image I imagined.

This is a sign for our house to hang outside by the front door. We’re very outdoorsy and live out in the country, where we often have visits from a resident Barred Owl and deer. I used Scorch Paint because it creates such amazing, crisp black detail in the picture.

I make decorative boards and charcuterie boards, and I was previously using wood burning paste. A friend sent me the link for this amazing Scorch Paint, and I’m so glad they did! My husband was travelling to the US and brought some home for me to try. The results are amazing. The designs come out a rich, bright black instead of the dull black I was getting before. It’s also so much easier to use. I’m really impressed with the quality and will definitely be using it for my projects!

I hand painted the flower with Scorch Paint on to a old piece of scrap wood. I then used a heat gun to activate the paint. The image burned beautifully, then using the heat gun i was able to add shading to the flower. I then let everything cool down before adding a Satin varnish over the hole piece. I really recommend this product. It allowed me the freedom of having sharper lines then I could achieve with other wood burning tools and techniques. This is only my first sample of trying the product. I can't wait to start on more technical images.

Hi Evan, I absolutely love your product! I have been making live edge tables, benches, bar tops, shelving, etc. Each piece is beautiful when completed.
I saw your product advertised on Facebook and a light bulb went off! I decided to try a stencil of the Adirondack Mountains on a coffee table I just finished. OMG….. it was outstanding! Went on to do several more including a black walnut table.
Thank you for your fantastic product.

I recently purchased your Maker’s Magic combo pack (gloss and matte). My neighbor and I started creating Easter eggs using napkins on wooden eggs. The dye on the blue and white napkins had a tendency to bleed however the other colorful napkins adhered very nicely. Ready to begin another project!

Made this serving tray as a gift. There is a bit of a learning curve to using scorch paint, like most other things. My first project did not turn out so well. But, that was on me and not really taking the time to properly learn how to use the product. After, a couple YouTube tutorials, next project came out beautifully. Previously would make a paste for this but would take so long to burn. Scorch paint makes the process go much faster. I am able to get through several projects in the time it would take to do one.

My name is Dave. I was working on a custom poker table and the customer wanted me to add his personal logo. I found scorch paint online from a ad and decided to try it. I was very impressed how easy it was to apply. This saved me so much time by not having to router it out. I had a question about what I could use to protect the logo and they were very responsive with very good options. Here is a pick of of the final project.

I initially tried a different scorch gel that I purchased from Amazon, but I wasn't impressed with the results. Then I discovered your product and decided to give it a try. I have to say, yours is absolutely the best! I won't use anything else. It's easy to apply, has no toxic smell, and my project turned out even better than I expected for my first attempt.

I used Scorch Paint for my project. I used a silk screen winter scene stencil. Look at all the intricate details with this stencil and with no bleeding under the stencil. I sanded the cutting board prior to placing the stencil. I added some bees wax and topped it off with a red bow. This cutting board is used as wall decor. I also make them as a cutting board as well with some bees wax. Thanks for creating Scorch Paint and I can't wait till your paste comes out!

As a fundraiser for our Parkinson’s support group, I used Scorch Markers to trace the sunflower stencil and antiquing wax to stain around them. Then we sprayed it with a lacquer to seal it. We raised about $4000!

I made a faux stained glass picture. I didn't like the fumes of Gallery Glass, so I have been looking for alternative products to use. I tried clear glue and alcohol ink, but got a lot of bubbles. When I used Makers Magic and alcohol ink, the result was great!! I'm loving the result. Makers Magic blenede with the alcohol ink and there no fumes. The result was a smooth glossy finish. I have attached an image of it using the photo setting and one on the portrait setting. Hot Chili Peppers

I am working on Spring/Easter gifts.
I like using Scorch Marker because of the streak free end result. Add to that there is no tacky feel to the project.
This year I combined different methods to my projects and Scorch Marker was easy to integrate with different mediums.

I am a mixed media artist and teacher who dabbles in a lot of areas. I'm a technique junkie so I use your Maker's Magic to seal things and adhere things to other things. I'm more partial to the gloss finish but I use the matte finish as well. I really like the "self-leveling" aspect of both formulas that keeps brush marks from happening. I'd never worked with wood slices before and I've been enjoying the wood burn look that I can easily achieve with the Scorch markers--really fun. My students really enjoy working with them as well. Thank you for your first-class customer service!

I am a professional crafter that's uses all types of materials to create with. My primary is cardstock/paper Crafting. Maker's Magic has replaced the need for that "other stuff". It works great as an adhesive, but through experimenting I've found many more uses. It's a sealant, it's waterproof, it adds texture, it works as a medium for pigmented detailing, bonding agent, and more. This is truly Magic in a bottle! Project Mage Approved 🧙🏾♂️🪄👍🏾

I painted a sea scene on a 10 X 10 in. wooden plack. I use Scorch Makers Magic Glossy because I like a glossy finish with out bubbles. Your product helps me have a shiny clean of bubbles finish. In my opinion the best thing about Scorch Makers Magic is when you heard about a problem you were right there on it to see about fixing the product.

I paint on most any "canvas". Lately on purses and small pieces of furniture. This product has made it so easy to seal either enamel or acrylic paint so my hard work is preserved. I also use this in place of mod podge when applying decoupage to furniture. Easy to layer, great soap and water clean up, excellent coverage and sealing product. So glad I found this!!

My son asked for help on his 1974 Chevy Nova. He had pulled the headliner out and it was so brittle that a piece broke off in 2 places. He asked me for help. My idea was to use fabric as a patch to secure the pieces back on and add stability. I’ve dried and cured add more fabric over the entire headliner to give it flexibility and stabilize it for when he reinstalled it. And I used Maker’s Magic to adhere everything on and together. Luckily I had purchased a 3 pack. I used every drop. To adhere the fabric patches and large pieces I dumped the Maker’s Magic into a paint pan and saturated the fabric first before adding it to the headliner. Worked like a charm. Even my son was impressed!!!

I made this cake topper for my brother turning 70. I used a vinyl over top of cardstock. When I checked on it the next day the vinyl was peeling off the paper background. I used Makers Magic to secure the vinyl to the paper and it saved my project. I recommend both the gloss and the new matt versions of Scorch Markers Makers Magic. They are game changers!

I used makers magic to both glue the 'stuff' to the picture and to cover the picture in total.

I wanted to share this to help put others at ease with their first attempts. I couldn't wait to try the scorchmarker pen and heat gun, but didn't have any 220 grit to sand my dollar store wood piece - so I decide to go for it anyway! I figured learning is never failure 😊 This project is on unsanded wood, using the bullet tip and then spreading the ink towards edges with the sponge tip. I'll make another one and then try sanding off my mistakes for a redo. 😊 I'm loving the pen and process so far! Heading out for sandpaper tomorrow.

I used Makers Magic to seal my painted acrylic sign and it was perfect. The gloss is amazing. I can’t wait to make more things using it.

I first heard about Maker's Magic from the Makers Gonna Learn team who raved about its versatility and ease of use. I tried my Maker's Magic as a sealant for a diamond art piece today. It turned out beautifully; I used far less than the much thicker sealant I have been using, application was much easier, and I was absolutely delighted with the results. Every drill ("diamond" bead) is sparkling! I emailed Scorch Marker customer service regarding this use and received an almost immediate response with an attached video, showing another crafter's use on diamond art. As indicated in the video, drying time was also much faster than with previous sealer. I want to commend Evan and Niki for a great product and superior customer service. I have contacted them several times and have received timely and appropriately helpful advice. I am excited about use of this product on so many more of my crafts. Thank you so much!

My first project was making a watercolor journal out of cardboard and paper. I sealed the cover so it will last longer. I love you product. So much better than the well known brand. It fried fast, is not sticky, and when I purposefully spilt water on it, it did not ruin my project. Great product. I will be buying more!

I used acrylic paint to stencil the parsley to the shell. Due to the curvature of the shell, it took a little "cajoling." I first used the Chives stencil, and when I sprayed it with acrylic gloss sealer, and it ran. With the parsley, I gave it 2 light coats of Maker’s Magic, and voila! - no runs. Gotta love Maker’s Magic!

Here is my 1st project. I have had huskies for 30 years...on our 7th. Which is the paw print in my design. I did an inked print of Sequoia's paw & added it to this design so it's very meaningful. Still learning but really happy with my 1st design. Learning & growing.
I have so many ideas & excited to get going on them.

Making some cute decoupage coasters with napkin and some unglazed coasters I found on Amazon. I am using Makers Magic because of its clarity and waterproof-ness. Super easy and fun gift idea - thank you for supporting us crafters with your amazing product!

Thank you!! I love your product!! I collages some valentines brooches for friends and some for my shop, and it was so fun! I used Scorch to glue the paper designs to the wooden hearts, it was a great thin adhesive! I was surprised it applied so thinly with a paintbrush. Then added more trim, rhinestones with a glue gun, then sealed and covered the designs with Scorch! The scratched vintage hearts buttons I dr orated with looked shiny and new covered in your product too! My friends and customers were very impressed.

I'm doing reverse decoupage using dollar store glass cutting boards. I'm using your product to waterproof the rice paper I've printed the image on. The "other guys " 28 day cure time is way too long to be practical as a vendor. 2 coats and 48 hours now my items are ready for sale!

I made a house called Witches Bungalow. Witches need a cauldron right? Makers Magic was the solution to my dilemma. I needed a glue that won't cloud the beads and ruin the light coming thru because then it won't look like a bubbling cauldron. Your product dried clear. You don't even know it's there!

I ordered makers magic from Amazon after finding a video about it. I craft and create a ton of diffrent things and to have a good all purpose glue/sealer is a game changer!
Here's my thoughts:
I don't really think the smell is a problem as others have said, to me it smells like windex.
It levels itself so nicely and dries super fast and sooooo clear. I do find that I like it a little thiner and make small amounts at about 50/50 with water and sealer. I am so thrilled with its waterproofness, and that it dries so shiny it's hard to even take photos of it!
Attached are just a few of the things i have sealed with Makers Magic so far!

I was working on some charcuterie boards, love how easy the process was, but the color did not come out as dark.

This is my first time using scorch marker. If you have any tips I would appreciate it.
