Just finished Shreyas Doshi's course and have 0 regrets about spending 2 days of a long weekend learning. If you're looking to up-level yourself as a product leader and become a better thinker, take this course. Every topic is actionable, he goes deep into his thinking, curates thoughts from great PM leaders throughout, and teaches you to think at a level most people aren't. The unexpected part is I'm walking away with product-related learnings and several ways of thinking that are going to better my life in general. #productmanagement #betterthanyesterday

Getting up to speed in a Product Leadership position can be overwhelming and scary - especially in our ever more VUCA world. My go-to approach: shadow people with more experience. Those who have weathered the storm(s) in the past and "came out whistling". What impressed me most last year was Shreyas Doshi "Managing your PM career in 2023 & beyond" class - which I warmly recommend. He is a world-class product leader with truly distinct triple-A content. The resulting connections (new neural (brain) connections, and personal connections) are invaluable for anyone working on empowering product teams to do their best work!

Before holidays, I took Shreyas Doshi's 'Managing your PM career' course over a weekend, and it is the best 8 hours I spent on any course. It is filled with guidance on career planning, frameworks & templates to take charge of the career and how to land your dream job at your dream company.   Highly recommend this course to everyone, even if you are not looking for an immediate job/career switch. January's course is already full but recommend to get on the waitlist for the next one.  Link - lnkd.in/dz5-DUQ2 While you are at it, also subscribe to his twitter @shreyas as his tweets are filled with nuggets of wisdom and insights. 😊 #careerplanning #productmanagement

Its a wrap-up on the Maven course lnkd.in/gvsGeiPk by Shreyas Doshi on managing your product career. Thoughtful and candid, Shreyas throws truth bombs (so different from cliched advice available today) about the reality of PM career and how to invest in yourself sensibly. As I went over the materials of the course once more, I found so many interesting nuggets that I would like all my PM colleagues to know. Highly recommend this Maven course for those who are serious about their PM career. Some insights that I will definitely carry with me are: a) Future of product management career - especially considering the recession). Yup, good PMs will be in high demand in the future as well.   b) Investing in oneself and up-skilling strategically - Having a goal, Eliminating weaknesses and creating superpowers c) Managing trade-offs such as being an IC vs. Product leader or selecting the right offer etc. d) Having the right thought process and right words to grow in your existing company e) Countless more ideas including how to balance life goals to gain more happiness and time optionality:)  The class itself was designed meticulously to create a safe space for accelerated learning. Shreyas's communication skills, analytical rigour and extensive experience made it a pleasure to attend.

Be a student of the game. You can be shaped, or you can be broken. There is not much in between. How promising you are as a student of the game is a function of what you can pay attention to without running away. - David Foster Wallace.  Had a chance to attend a 2-day Product Career workshop from Shreyas Doshi this weekend. Shreyas Doshi's weekend seminar for experienced PMs is probably the best investment I've made this year. "Manage your career like you manage your products". We know this, but few of us actually do it, and we fool ourselves in many ways. Sharing more takeaways while keeping them concise will risk sounding like fortune cookie wisdom, and fail to reflect the depth and nuance that Shreyas added. What I can say is that I'll go back to the course content the next time I'm thinking about: - How to define success at different stages in life (and create time optionality for what matters most) - How to think about your career path (ladder vs. map) and about the generalist vs. specialist puzzle - How to balance product work across impact, execution, and optics - How to evaluate PM performance in a way that doesn't suck - How to compare different offers, company stages, and the type of PM hat they require, taking into account Founder-PM fit Many of us develop an intuitive sense for how to navigate these questions, but Shreyas does something that feels like magic: he gives you the right words to talk about them. Thanks a lot Shreyas! (Course link in the comments)

I attended the "Managing PM Career by Shreyas Doshi" seminar over the weekend, and it is most likely the best way to end 2022. It is a course for Senior PMs, not early-stage PMs. I have been following Shreyas on Twitter for a while now, and his threads are excellent brain simulators. I wish to achieve his clarity of thought and the depth to which he has drilled to achieve that.   The two-day seminar was beautifully crafted by him, and as he says, it's his labor of love, and it truly is. He passed on so many wisdom bombs that even if the course was for 5ish hours on two days, it kept me thinking about some of the items for a long time, and that's the kind of lasting impact this has. It should have been a month-long :D   He gave out many nuggets of wisdom and debunked so many myths. Mentioning a few of those here so everyone gets a gist a.    Competence is the key. You can't work around that. b.    Identify your learning style and work on it. c.    Communication, cognitive empathy, and editing are the skills one must develop d.    Start with SFDs for anything to get the momentum going e.    How getting a new job is not just about interviewing, prep should start a year in advance f.     Success is time optionality, and everyone has their own stack rank And much more.   You can read some of these items and his tweets online, but hearing from him, his examples, and his life experiences is not the same as reading them online.     Reserve your seat here: lnkd.in/d5bYM__t

Shreyas' Managing Your PM Career seminar was insightful and thought provoking. He shared useful frameworks and tactics so that we can be intentional when managing our careers. I especially appreciated the way Shreyas openly shared how he applied these frameworks and tactics in his own career moves - it felt like a 1:1 conversation. There's so much to reflect on. I highly recommend this course!

Are you looking for a highly valuable investment in your product management career? Then take Shreyas Doshi's course: Managing your PM career in 2023 and beyond: lnkd.in/dCsnPQ87. This 2-day seminar really differentiates itself from what I have seen or taken so far. One of Shreyas's main calls to action for growing one's career is in fact finding ways to differentiate from other PMs and PM Leaders. Some of the examples he used and deep-dived into (with very applicable examples!), based on his own and his team's experience are: 1. setting an ambitious, but realistic 3-year lighthouse goal to leverage the Pygmalion effect, which states that higher expectations lead to improved performance 2. techniques and methodologies to manage your manager (and manage up generally) and make them an ally 3. frameworks to plan and manage your career growth with intent, continuously prioritizing and taking well informed decisions (*although his advice was still to trust your gut with the final decision you need to make, after of course you've eliminated options based on objective reasons - assuming other needs are checked, joy still matters the most in your job!) After these 2 days, I admire Shreyas Doshi even more. He seemed like a very grounded, authentic, smart individual and extremely passionate about product management. Talking about valuable investments in your career, we are hiring at HelloFresh: lnkd.in/dYANCYZY. #productmanagement #pmcareer #ShreyasDoshi #hellofresh

It was such a blessing to get coached by one of the best [Shreyas Doshi] on thinking through my career in product as a product and so much more. If you're looking for both principles and practices in managing your product future, IMO his cohort-based course on Maven is the best solution! Also, one of the major value adds is the community you get connected to. I loved doing breakouts with a couple new friends, Prince Gupta & Dante Alvarado-Leon. I learned even more being able to process with them and action on what Shreyas was teaching us through in our breakouts. I'm excited to continue to be a part of Shreyas' community going forward!

I was fortunate to attend Shreyas "Managing your PM career in 2023 & beyond" this weekend and I want to share - every single minute was worth my time. It is rare these days that I am able to listen for 5 hours straight for two days - I was glued to my chair. The value that Shreyas created for all the participants is going to help us for decades to come. I am not even kidding. Among many, three key actionable takeaways that can help anyone reading this post: 1. Shitty First Draft: The first draft of anything is going to be shitty, and it is okay for it to be shitty. Just start. Just do it. Continuous improvement/polishing is the key. 2. Competence > Confidence: To deal with imposter syndrome (lack of confidence), focus on building competence of your craft. There is no alternative to hard work. Confidence will follow. 3. 3-5 year career lighthouse goal: Manage your career as a product. Define the end-state and work backwards from it. The course covers a wide range of topics, including how to develop a career plan, network with industry professionals, stand out in the job market, how to select the winning offer, and negotiating tactics. Highly highly highly recommend for Sr. PM and above who want to level up and learn from the top 1%. The course has TONS of material, tactics, actionable insights, crazy networking opportunities, and a few goodies :) #career #advanced #productmanagement #networking

Many learnings from Shreyas Doshi's workshop on managing your PM career. Things I plan to think of over the next few months: 1. Setting up a 3-year lighthouse goal to anchor on 2. Pymaglion effect: high expectations lead to improved performance in a given area 3. Superpower/Liability framework: Focus on identifying and building on your superpowers as well as on bringing your liabilities to median/average
