End-of-the-year reflection time.
2022 was a big year of growth.
Here's what I did this year to better serve my clients (and a bit about the classes that helped me get there):
This year, I built:
-Processes and systems to manage clients effectively
-Packaged services to meet clients' needs
-A solid network of copywriters to grow my knowledge and professional base
I accomplished a lot of this through The Copywriter Accelerator, a flagship program of The Copywriter Club. This program is for copywriters looking to expand their business and better serve their clients. I got so much out of this program-as both a writer and a business owner-it's worth the initial cost and then some.
This year, to hone my copy skills, I:
-Studied how to write good website copy
-Peer reviewed lots of website copy (including my own)
-Published my own website
-Successfully completed six different website copy projects
To meet these goals, I took Erin Pennings' class Taking Your Website from Whomp Whomp to Wow.
Erin's class teaches how to write audience-centric, persuasive website copy. And, she gives tons of examples and feedback. Take her class if you're looking to write better copy or if you're looking to get the push you need to finally finish your own website copy.
She also provides tons of value for her own clients, beyond the course itself. Her copy deck presentation gave me a great template for the project overview document that I now use to manage client projects.
This year, to better market my business, I:
-Studied a strategic approach for social media engagement, specifically on LinkedIn
-Dedicated regular time to posting content on LI
-Grew my network of copywriters and ideal clients on LI
For me, marketing myself on social media is the hardest part of being a business owner. I'm so lucky to have found Esai Arasi. She is the person for marketing your business on social media. Her class, Social Konnection, gave me a plan that works.
I've built my network (and have landed some premium clients) by adopting her methods. If you're looking for the same, join the Social Konnection community.
In 2023, I'm looking to continue to build my network and hone my business skills. Check out the comments below to see what I'm doing in 2023 to meet those goals.

This year is fiiinally the year where I’m making the jump to LinkedIn (at least, I will try 😅) but everything you said is so true!! Social Konnection’s templates alone have given me 50+ saves of content in the past on other platforms and can’t wait to implement it here 😊

You know what has been the most impactful and game-changing in my business so far? Not the amazing books I've read (and I've read some good ones). Not the awesome courses I took. Not the interesting industry events I attended.
It's the communities I belong to and the people in those communities. They are helping me uplevel my business, grow personally and professionally, and show up confidently.
Here're a few communities and people I'm particularly grateful for:
🌟Kira Hug and Rob Marsh's Think Tank - an incredible place for business owners that are ready for bigger, better, and more
🌟Belinda Weaver's Confident Copywriter - the most supportive and generous community for copywriters ever
🌟Esai Arasi's Social Konnection - the group that simplifies and redefines how to use social strategically
Who are you grateful for? Tag people and groups that have helped you in one way or another.
