Wall of love for SpotOn

I know this thing is a bit expensive. I have wasted money on cheaper GPS collars, and after too many bad experiences with a lost puppy and a failing GPS tracker I decided I must get the best available collar for this one dog, Billie, who is not satisfied with just the 20 acres of land she has to play in. After many hours watching youtube reviews on collars, i settled on the SpotOn. After several months using it, i am 100% satisfied. Setup wasn't too difficult. I think watching youtube videos prior to getting the device helped my understand what to expect with the setup and training. Highly recommend investing some time with that for anyone getting this collar. Especially when accounting for GPS drift, which is a limitation of GPS technology not the collar itself. I tested the collar on myself before starting to train Billie to it. The GPS is more accurate than I've observed on other collars. The audio notifications are immediate, and the app notifications are very fast. Within a couple seconds or less. The app also keeps track of any time the collar crossed the boundary and give you status on the event like time out, time back in, how far they traveled, and tracking information on a map. The app provides a training program for teaching your dog to the fence boundary. My daughter is a professional dog trainer and confirmed the program is good. So I went with it. Billie picked up on the fence boundary so quick that I never went through to the end of the program. Billie quickly figured out that the virtual boundaries are aligned to our farm's perimeter fence, and she doesn't go near the fence line, or gates any more. I didn't even bother with the electric static correction either. I saw how effective it is this morning when all four of my dogs were chasing after a deer. Three of the dogs went through an open back gate and after the deer onto a neighbors farm (these three always come home). Billie on the other hand, stopped about 20 feet from the gate, then turned around and layed down. I couldn't believe that her training to the virtual fence would overcome a prey drive, and I never specifically trained her to that back gate! Love that the fence boundaries are downloaded into the collar so even when cellular signal is out the GPS will still correct her if she starts to wander. But, despite cell signal being spotty in my rural area, the universal cell service on the collar has not failed yet. Big plus on both over cheaper GPS collars. The collar is stout! I am not worried about it breaking off like my last collar did. Although a bit bulky, my large dog doesn't mind it at all. The way that it's designed, the larger components are on the opposite end of the GPS and Cell receiver, so that are always pointed up towards the sky when the collar is on. And the GPS works great under heavy tree cover. I've seen some negative reviews about people's dogs being corrected when inside the house. I made the home zone much larger than my house so the collar turns off once Billie reaches the yard. Who needs to track their dog in the front yard anyway? I've also seen complaints about location update frequency, which i think is people misunderstanding functionality. When the dog is inside the virtual fence the tracking status updates every 5-10 minutes, which I guess is to save on battery life. But as soon as they cross the fence boundaries, it immediately switches to real-time tracking. While inside the boundary, the app allows you to refresh location any time, and you can turn on real-time tracking at any time, which also shows your location on the map as well. Yes. 100% satisfied with this GPS collar. Would recommend to anyone without any reservations.

Spot on has added so much joy to Ginger’s life and ours. In our walks, she can safely run and wade and sniff like a hound. Funnily, she will only enter the “farm fence” through one magical gate from her “yard” gate. All walks start there!

After years of raising livestock and employing dogs to protect them, specifically sheep and goats, I’ve had to select and breed bigger, stronger and more assertive and independently motivated dogs to deal with the intense predator pressure of my environment. What comes with that is greater potential for liability if these dogs overlap with people and their pet dogs. Ranging onto other properties, public roads or Trails can lead To potentially dangerous consequences for everyone involved, including these vulnerable working dogs This is the reason many ranchers don’t get into sheep production even if it would benefit their operation and their land, simply because of the potential liability that big free roaming dogs presents. I believe this technology solves that issue entirely! I think this is the single biggest advance ever in modern day shepherding on range grazing, targeted grazing operations , as well as simply keeping farm and ranch/home guardians safely contained where are they supposed to be doing their jobs. The off grid mode is particularly useful for range applications like mine where there is no cell service and I can definitively say that this technology has literally taken what was the biggest hassle and potential for liability, and turned it into one of the most simple things on the farm, which is simply recharging the collars. On that note. It was really trying to find a complaint, it would just be the battery life. Especially on these very large dogs like mine, I wonder if the collar could hold the larger battery that lasted longer. But overall, I’m super happy with how the SpotOn fence is working for me! It takes years of work to make a good working sheepdog, and a terrible loss and massive setback if something happens to them. Now I know that These beautiful dogs, which are the culmination of years of selection and breeding are safe, while they’re keeping my flocks safe.

This product absolutely changed the life of both me and my dog. I have a Shiba Inu and they are notoriously stubborn and always run away. Once I finally moved to a property with some room for her to run, she still wasn’t able to utilize it until we got the spot on collar. Since we did, she has calmed down and become a totally different dog. With the new E collar feature I’ve been able to use it to train her a bit more and she has started to listen even away from the Homestead. The customer service has been absolutely amazing and I love that they are from my sister state of New Hampshire! This is clearly accompany, run by people who love dogs and designed a product to solve a problem and not to make money. I’ve tried the other ones out there and nothing compares. They are constantly changing and evolving the product and all of their changes are software-based so existing customers are able to utilize new features without having to buy new hardware. Do the proper training with your dog and once they understand the tones you can set fences anywhere. I’m a contractor and my dog comes with me to work and I have fences set up at different job sites all over the county. I’ve shown this to other contractors and now there’s multiple dogs running around on spot on collars!

My neighbor introduced me to Spot On. Our Corgi, Jules, keeps up with the horses , rides in the golf cart and on the carriage. She runs miles everyday. We recommended Spot On to another friend with acres of woods. Now their dog has safety and freedom too.

Such a game changer! We created multiple fences depending on the occasion, like a backyard only fence, or entire property fence. We've also created fences for people who dog sit at their house for us. I like that I can keep my dog out of our pond too and our guesthouse, without an ugly physical fence around it.

We have such peace of mind with our Sadie wearing the SpotOn collar. She's an English Coonhound and loves a good sniff which can lead her off the property. SpotOn has meant that she always stays in our 2.5 acres with no worries!

We love our SpotOn collars for our livestock guardian dogs!!! We do rotational grazing for goats and horses so the pasture fencing needs change every week - SpotOn has been the only collar that fits our needs. I love that I can walk the land and set fence boundaries as I go.i tried a different brand before i discovered SpotOn but other brands seem too limited in how the fence set up can function. SpotOn is easier to set up a fence and more reliable to use. I’ve already bought two collars and highly recommend.

SpotOn is saving us countless hours of worry spent calling and looking for our pup. What a wonderful feeling knowing he is safe.

I wasted my money on that other collar that starts with an H….don’t go that way. SpotOn is well worth the extra investment…IT WORKS!

The largest benefit of the system is the peace of mind. We see SpotOn as the best investment we've made for the quality of life for Oakley and ourselves.

Our wired invisible fence was ineffective because our squirrel-chasing machine would blow through the boundary before she could be corrected. SpotOn is just what we needed. Setup was easy, and training was quick.

We have 140 acres. I researched PetSafe, Halo Collar, and Spoton was very reluctant to pay what the Spoton cost, so I went with Petsafe and it didn't work so I returned Petsafe and got Spoton. It has worked great!
