Overall, working with Stella has been a really positive experience for me! Before coaching, I thought of myself as someone who was content with their job/expected career trajectory and fairly advanced along the path of personal development. After some impactful sessions with Stella, I was able to access some suppressed feelings about myself and what I value for myself and for my career. I learned that my current career path isn't satisfying my need for creativity and impact, and I learned that I have some suppressed emotions around self-esteem and various saboteurs. I have found Stella's use of Internal Family Systems theory particularly helpful because it helps me stay focused on specific feelings or parts of myself that I often don't take the time to explore. Her guiding questions help me uncover the roots of painful feelings to understand them and make make peace. One specific example of how these sessions have helped me is a noticeable curbing of over-volunteering for things I'm not passionate about at work. After a session with Stella on the instinct to always say yes, especially for women, I was able to talk through why I felt that obligation and whether or not it was aligned with my values and goals. Another helpful piece was a reflection session we did together at the end of 2023 to set intentions for 2024. After completing my first round of sessions with Stella, I had opened up more new trail heads than I thought I would and decided to continue with a second term of coaching. After realizing that I want to consider some changes in my career earlier than I thought, I wanted more guidance because that realization is still scary to me. I have started to look more seriously at what next steps would be for me to transition my career. I would definitely recommend sessions with Stella to others, especially women, looking for guidance when exploring hard feelings around careers and personal development. Stella is patient and kind, and is always working to develop sessions and workshops to help me understand myself better.
