I've been following Justin's tutorials on YouTube for a long time. Even though I’ve learned SketchUp through various online courses, I was curious to see if I could still level up my skills. And honestly? Kitchen modeling was never my thing… until now! 😄 The Cabinet Essentials completely changed that. The quality of lessons in the SketchUp Essentials Course is even better than what you get on YouTube. I picked up so many useful tricks - even in the basics - and finally got a solid grasp on organizing models in SketchUp and LayOut. This course has been so beneficial for learning sketchup, but so much more. The landscape/ civil part of the course is outstanding, helping with terrain modeling, different methods of bringing the model into the terrain. I mean, the whole course is great and I have to say, Justin is always available to answer questions, to share videos with students to answer questions, truly amazing. I began this course to teach myself, with help, how to incorporate 3D modeling and rendering into our client package, I own a garden design/ build company in Atlanta. This course would be worth it at 3 times the cost for all of the tutorials you get, along with the references. Amazing.

I've been using Sketchup for about 2 years, but very inefficiently. I didn't understand all the Sketchup terminology and options. Someone recommended Justin's channel to me and I found his videos really helpful and easy to follow so I enrolled in his course. I got sketchup because every time I have a house project I've been making the house/yard with foam boards to visualize it. I knew if I could learn Sketchup, I wouldn't have to. I was very frustrated trying to learn it, then I found Justin's course. I started doing his course 2 weeks ago, just a little a day. Now I have drawn the yard, made a patio and pergola, an outdoor kitchen, a wall, a swing and our house. I printed out my sketchup drawing and told the contractor who came and gave us a bid today, "This is what want". He said "I need to learn how to do that". I told him that I couldn't do any of it 2 weeks ago, and about Justin's course. Justin has gone above and beyond in helping me. He isn't just phoning it in. When you get his course you get access to a community forum where he actually helps people and has live feeds you can sign up for. He even made me a video showing me how to do something I was struggling with.

After uploading SketchUp and taking a few hours to learn on my own along with some video trainings available to all, I realized to get to the final results that I wanted versus the learning curve were not aligned. Justin has created a set of lessons that are helping me learn to use the tools in a manner that compliments my learning style. I can pause, repeat, and return to the lesson later to develop my skills after gaining the knowledge of what is possible. After being involved in this course for two weeks, I highly recommend this course as someone that is new to creating drawings and designs. Cheers!

I have used 3d model software before & took this course to give myself a better understanding of its abilities & the way that it works. Having done this course I realise now that so much of the functionality would have been overlooked because I didn't realise it existed so that straight away is such a big bonus. Over the years I've struggled, sometimes successfully, often not, with using SketchUp to flesh out my designs and prepare construction documents. But in the few weeks since deciding to bite the bullet and sign up for Justin's SketchUpEssentials course, I've already vastly improved my modeling skills and habits. I strongly recommend non-expert users of Sketchup take these courses. I started by just listening to a some videos and winging it. I have now spent more time repairing my work than I spent creating in the first place. Learning how to do it right will save a lot of time and will result in models that you can modify with out falling down a rabbit hole caused by invisible or unconnected lines, un-grouped or incorrectly grouped items, etc.

I have wanted to learn to model my projects in 3D using SketchUp for some time now, but I have run into roadblocks utilizing the program that takes too much time to figure out on my own. This course has already answered some significant questions about organizing the workflow with Outliner, using groups and components effectively, and leveraging tools such as the Follow Me tool, which have opened up numerous possibilities. I am still early on in the course and have found it extremely helpful. I have questioned how to edit textures, for instance, and have not been able to figure it out correctly with what I have found online. I am a Mac user, which presents its own set of problems with SketchUp. However, by watching the course module on the subject, I have gained some insight into how to address these issues. I reviewed the posts of others in the community on this subject and found this to be helpful. I have also attended two of the Zoom sessions that I found interesting, although I was unable to participate in them. The community within the course is an excellent source of information. Many of the participants are highly skilled and experienced in their professions. I am very excited to continue in the course. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone serious about learning skills in SketchUp.

I was struggling to understand the program in the 3d environment. After a week of trying to create a landscape I purchased the course. In just 4 hours of the program instructed by Justin I was able to create a landscape and beyond. After 2 weeks I can create a professional architectural drawing and use layout. When I started this program, I had a very basic knowledge of SketchUp and zero understanding of LayOut. I have been studying the materials for a few weeks now and was able to build a two-story house and a kitchen. See the Attached Images. At this point, LayOut is still a mystery, but I plan to conquer it with Justin's help. An unexpected surprise was that Justin makes himself available to all his students through email and video conferencing.

In my past I worked extensively in AutoCAD and 3D Studio MAX, and after a long time I wanted to get back to 3D modelling (architecture and interiors) for a personal project. I came across Sketchup but found the learning curve steep until I came across the SketchUp Essentials Course. 


This is a fantastic, well rounded training course which really accelerated my knowledge and confidence in SketchUp. 


There are so many tips and tricks here that the author shares that will save me hours and hours of stumbling around. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to ramp up quickly in Sketchup.

Justin's SketchUp Essentials Course is very detailed and clearly explained. The content is relatively complex but he has broken it down into manageable videos which are easy to refer back to. I have created a crib sheet as the tool itself is not similar to other tools I have used, and this anchors the steps in my mind and saves going back to the videos repeatedly. I intend to use SketchUp for garden design and I am looking forward to Justin's course tailored to this profession as well as the Shoot plug-in which will allow garden designers to design the planting schemes. This course is providing me with the skills that I will be able to transfer to garden design in the spring, and at a pace that fits in with my other activities.

After a few hours of watching courses, I was modeling much more complex structures than I ever had. This course is well worth the investment for the thorough training and explanations, and Justin's involvement is icing on the cake. I bought the Essentials course and the Architecture course after using SketchUp for years on my own and still found them both to a game changer. Justin’s course was immense in learning more basics but also elevating them into many more design advantages and much quicker results. 


Tags and components have been huge for me as I design mostly LED fittings and use a lot of the same materials in my designs. 


The videos he also spends a lot of time producing are invaluable even if you are not designing houses etc.

It was fantastic - took me through the basics, one step at a time. I was able to learn skills and concepts sequentially that had me doing very useful drawings in no time. Justin's training and guidance materials have helped no end in getting me up to speed with Sketchup and to a point where I'm now pretty handy. A lot of knowledge from other CAD and modeling software doesn't necessarily translate well over to SketchUp, and it can be frustrating learning a new tool that is so different.
