I found Through the Word through the Church Planters podcast actually. I had previously listened to the anxiety study that is on the Youversion bible app but didn't realize where it came from until I heard Peyton Jones talk about Kris Langham and his ministry. This caught my attention and immediatly searched for the app. 3 years ago during covid I started listening to the journeys on Through the Word. And have now finished the last one! I loved taking the time to think about each chapter so in depth and I color coded the entire bible in doing so. These studies have lead me to an understanding of the bible i never had before. Particularly the history and the traditions of the Jewish people that I would not have thought to research I found fascinating. I have now moved home and am a young adults leader in our community in northern Manitoba and we have been using Through the Word for some of our bible studies. Our whole group really enjoys hearing the lesson and discussing it afterword. I have also told my sister about it and she has started using it too! Thank you so much to everyone who has put so much time and effort into this project. I have really enjoyed and appreciated it and plan to tell everyone I know about it!

Today November 11, I have completed plan nine also several of the books individually I thank God every morning for you guys. You’ve changed my life. I hope to someday meet you in person this side of heaven, but there for sure along with Jesus. Have a blessed day and thank you again.

I have to share with you that the anxiety plan #2 has helped me a lot. I went to the hospital for really bad anxiety. I know now that I cannot conquer it on my own. Without therapy, medication, or most of all, GOD. Until I can get to a dr, I have listened to this whole plan every night before I go to sleep. And sometimes I fall asleep to it. THANK YOU, for all you do! The way you explain things after every reading is amazing. Thank you for this app!

TTW helped me be on track with daily devotions. The easy exposition has been amazing. Going through Leviticus with Chris has made me marvel at the work of Christ which is highly foreshadowed in the book. I bless the Lord for his nature that has been brought forward quite greatly. I have shared with my girlfriend the app and the plans we are doing together. It's amazing hearing her great questions on the bible, faith and salvation. It has been an instrumental part in our spiritual growth as lovers.

I really appreciate how Pastor Kris helps. You understand the ins and outs and intricacies of Revelation. Such a in-depth book and so many parallels and picture metaphors. It can be hard to understand without direction.

I love this app. I use it every day to supplement my personal goal to read the entire Bible. It helps me glean insights from the scripture that I didn’t notice or think about when reading it on my own.

In July I was going through Isaiah when Immanuel, The Mighty Warrior, was taught. Immediately I knew Christmas for me would never be the same. I celebrated Immanuel, God with us, in the nativity. Seeing Jesus as the One fighting for us as a vulnerable infant really demonstrated to me how God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. I shared my learnings with our Advent planning team and we felt God leading us to follow the theme of Immanuel, The Mighty Warrior. We have since, all become increasingly aware of times where He has fought for us. Our hearts are experiencing more gratitude as we recognize Jesus in life’s details.

Opened my eyes to God's mercy and plan for us!!! Lord is soooo good so faithful!! Jesus is in this book...ok every book of the Bible PRAISE GOD!!!

I really love the explanations of the theme and what is going on in each book of the Bible I have studied the Bible for many years but still gain from this. I have also recommended it to several other people I know who are just starting out studying as it can be confusing until you finally get to that aha moment where it all lines up. I feel there is always something new to gain from the Bible and it is just good to be in his word. As I said I feel this is a great app no matter where you are in your relationship with Christ. It has made the Bible more alive! It helps give insight into the Word and the people of the Word, especially through the pairing of a commentary with the Word. My bible reading session is now the highlight of my day. I can't wait to hear what's next. Almost like following a series🤭. I'm very excited to enter the next book and I am looking forward to, one day, having read through the entire Bible ( for the very first time!)

I first learned about through the word through the you Vision app in the winter of 2024. From the get-go, I knew I had found a site that wood inspire me to listen with a daily commitment. At 73 I wish that I could have heard someone in the church or in my life speak the truth the way these teachers do. I honestly believe it would’ve prevented me from making a lot of wrong choices when I was younger. I was a Christian in name only until I was 33 years old. Unfortunately, even at that point in my life, very few people spoke this kind of truth into me. Many thanks to all of you who have given me a better understanding of how I can use my testimony to help others. I share this app with anyone who is open-minded enough to listen

I started a Bible study with my niece, who has never read the Bible. Using this app I am able to help her learn God's Word. As a result, she looks forward to her Bible reading and is sharing it with others. This is an answer to prayers for her.

I became a Christian at a young age but one thing I always struggled with was Bible reading. My physical therapist introduced me to Through the Word. I started listening to the guides and now I've completely finished the Old Testament and a large portion of the New Testament. I'm almost finished with the book of James now. Am looking forward to being able to say I actually made it through the whole Bible for the first time. Thank you Through the Word!

One specific way that Through The Word has been a blessing in our lives is that after my daughter had went away to college, we could continue to speak into each other‘s lives and hear each other‘s voices in comments of encouragement and learning through daily Bible study. I raised my daughter, going to church her entire youth, but she really started to grow in her faith late in her senior year in high school and through the summer leading up to college. It was exciting for her to go off to school, but I still really wanted to be part of her growth and have opportunities to speak into her life. There’s something beautiful about hearing the voice of your loved one, not just reading a text, and the app has been an amazing platform for that to happen. Thank you Through The Word for supporting continued connection on a regular basis with our family, even at a distance. I have found this to be very relatable to everyday life. I believe going through a journey once isn't enough. I look forward to repeating this. I'm still early in my faith journey and have truly loved TTW.

Reading the book of Isaiah TTW Gaga Ve me insight into the nature of God, the need for repentance and the hope for salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The message is not for Israel and Judah alone. It’s for the whole world.

Through the word has really held me accountable to seek God daily. I still have struggles but I'm fighting a little more. It has definitely refreshed my memory and I'm thankful for that. I have referred friends and family member so it has not only blessed me but others as well. Hello, I just finished the book of Acts. Several days ago The Lord kept giving me the word AUTHORITY. Over and over again. I prayed to God that he reveal what he meant. Then, one day I opened up the app and the book of Acts was on my chosen book to be read. Even though I didn't select it. The Book of Acts speaks alot about God given Spiritual Authority. Then I understand what God was telling me. We need to start using our God given Spiritual Authority. I have been searching for books written about Spiritual Authority, but I don't know which authors are trustworthy on the subject. I've asked a few pastors and non given me an answer yet. I was wondering if you, could recommend some good trustworthy authors and then I could see if they've written any books on it. I thank you all for everything you do. I am still making baby steps in my walk with God. I have some wonderful support around me. But the one thing I was really struggling with was actually reading the Bible. Even now and then I would pick it up and try to connect. But I couldn't. I then God lead me to TTW. It has changed my life. It's like going to church every day. Dream about alligators eating children I had a dream that alligators invading our neighborhood. I remember they were eating all the kids. We were still running away and evading them by jumping out of our bedroom windows and then running back in the house. The next morning I told my husband about my dream and he mentioned that it sounded like the story of Moses when the pharaoh ordered that all the kids be killed to manage population of Egypt. I took this as a sign to start a specific Bible plan of Exodus. 🙏❤️🕊️ This dream came about the time that I returned with my faith in Jesus. I had never seen the movie Prince of Egypt, and since I was reading Exodus I decided to finally watch this movie with my husband who loves this movie. In the movie, there is a scene that depicts a mural of alligators eating children in the river. I KNOW God had me dream this dream because He knew I would tell my husband and he would recognize this as the story of Moses based on how I described it. This journey has allowed me to crave God’s word, grow closer to God, recognize a lot of foreshadowing of Jesus’ first coming, and most importantly, see the world and all the things in my life through a biblical lens. It is the beginning of having an ability to know from good and evil, and discern what is of God and what is not. As I was approaching the last of Exodus part 3, I was wondering what plan I should do next. I want to stick with TTW. I keep getting notifications about Advent with Luke, and it just so happens that the last daily of Exodus part 3 podcast started with recommending this plan in time for Christmas. I could have been listening to this any time of the year, yet here we are a week before Thanksgiving. I think I’ll take this as a guide to go to that plan next as I am EXCITED to celebrate the first coming of Jesus. TTW helped me grow in wanting to read the Word, and my life is now changed. Praise God for the work that TTW is doing for us!

I never really seemed to understand the book of Revelation, and every time I tried to read it, I'd get fearful. But I really tried to understand it. After doing this study with Through the Word I feel like I'm getting a better understanding. I've learned a lot through this study, and now I want to study it even more. Pastor Kris Langham is an awesome teacher, and I want to thank him for doing this. Any time I chat with people about Bible study and apps I mention Through the Word. It's that awesome!!! God speaks to us in so many ways for me it’s through people… I remember wanting to build a relationship with God but in my own time… pushing him to the side and trying to do things with my own strength and noticing nothing was ever working… Got myself into a situation n now I’m desperate for him to speak to me, but I wasn’t hearing nothing back until I’m told I need to read the bible. I would come up with excuses like when I read the bible I don’t understand anything or I’m easily distracted or the last book I read was of mice and men in English literature many years ago how can I read and understand the bible? God then spoke to me through a YouTube ad and it was TTW literally told me this app will help you with each chapter but I didn’t know where to start from. Desperate and no where to turn to I ask my pastor how do I build my relationship with Jesus I wanna get closer he tells me start with the gospel… I didn’t wanna ask too many questions so I just held on to that. Later on that week I was walking past a stranger he was on the phone and said “read the chapter where he washes their feet” later I got home that day and googled where does Jesus wash feet? And I was told this happens in John. This was my final confirmation that I should start reading John. I didn’t know Jesus, and who is best to describe Jesus to you? No one better than his best friend John “To whom Jesus loved” reading John allowed me to fully comprehend the gospel and TTW helped teach this in the best way possible thank u 🙏🏾

TTW has helped me with the journey through the Bible,it has been awesome, started reading my Bible and I planned to finish it at the of 2024 but a long the way I couldn't achieve and felt discouraged and towards the end of the year I saw this Bible app I knew this could help me with my plan Even if it didn't go the way I planned at the beginning... at least TTW has helped me in plan of reading the bible ...plus the awesome guide it's been everything inspiring thanks to my tutor kris on the bible guide ,more grace sir. Yeah just finished journey 1 And it been everything about Jesus It's has been an eyeopener to me about Jesus,his desires for us and how we are to live one other Thanks to the TTW .

I have been using TTW for almost 10 years now. Last year I read through the New Testament using the App and I just finished reading through the Old Testament today. I can’t really put into words how this journey has enriched and blessed my walk. I do need to give a shout out to Pastor Kris for his commentary on Haggai & Zechariah. Yes, it’s early Pastor Kris, but he has nailed it, you can hear and feel him as he speaks from his heart as he leads you through it. I know you could probably spend a year unpacking these two books, but I think that would just confirm the heartfelt message that Kris shares. (Please don’t ever update your message, I really don’t think you can improve it!) Then after those two books, Kris just adds the right amount of whipped cream when you listen to Malachi! I have completed my first study with TTW, "Romans". I am enjoying Pastor Kris joy, excitement and balance as he shares about each chapter. It is refreshing for me. I spent a little extra time in Romans 12. This chapter has come alongside what I've been going with the Lord over the past few years. The Lord has been pressing hard on me and helping me to stay in my own lane at work. I'll be at a Christian environment, we have differences. However, I am not the boss, I do not see the whole picture, and am only concerned/responsible for what's going on in my classroom. I am a rule follower, and spent some time with the idea of "weak faith" being related to that aspect of who I am. I quickly was able to separate; I come from a generation that does what the boss tells you to do, and that I don't need rules to be sure that I'm keeping my salvation. But I loved the prick, I loved the "let's check this out from the Holy Spirit". The approach taken in this particular chapter has been a challenge and an encouragement all at the same time. Very thankful I found this app, and looking forward to my next study.

If you want to create a daily bible habit, this is your app! I've been using TTW for over 4 years now and this has been the most successful single thing I've done to bring God further into my daily life. The Journeys have a curated structure to show you all of God's message. They're the perfect length for the morning commute or just before bed. I felt like the app was such a blessing that I HAD to become a giver. If I pay for Spotify or Netflix, I could surely pay a few bucks for this.

Like pieces of a puzzle they fill the in and create a clear picture, I love to listen and often read along in my Bible highlighting & adding side notes! TTW is a gift to me!! Thank you 🙏🏼

I found TTW on the bible app in 2017 when I was a student and wanting to get closer to God. Even back then, when the app was different, I was immensely touched by how detailed and magnificent the bible is and it was all because of Pastor Kris. Knowing that he's a scientist and listening to him approach the bible in a scientific manner really helps! I remember immediately reaching out and writing an email to the TTW team to express my gratitude. I lost touch with God in the following years; I was being lukewarm. But this year I decided to get back into the word and I have been going through the Journeys Plan. I think in Journey 3, we go through the story of Abraham and Jacob and Isaac and it touched my heart to see how God is so considerate to his creation and how dysfunctional families doesn't stop His will or His providence 😭. It's really comforting to know that my mistakes, my shortcomings, my fears, my lies, flaws etc. are all factored into his plan and He will take me to where He wants to plant me. I cannot stop raving about this app. The lessons I learn from here, I use in my Sunday school classes and I use it to talk to my teenage cousins. Just yesterday, one of my cousins was asking me about abstinence and I immediately remembered what Pastor Kris said about marital advice in reference to Jacob. Men have to show the women that they're willing to wait for them and women to allow the men to prove their love to them. While I cannot support you financially , you are all in my prayers. I love you all so much and I cannot wait to meet you at the tree of knowledge at noon God willing! P.s. Pastor Kris's outros are the best 😆

I absolutely love the Bible teaching! Pastor Langham is so gifted by God to really bring the Bible alive. I have been listening daily and am so very thankful for a completely new and better understanding of the great themes in the Bible. My truly born again experience where the Spirit opened my eyes to the scriptures was 9 years ago. Though I believed that Jesus was who He said that He was many years before when God brought me out of Mormonism , it was literally years before God told me to be in the Word every day. It can take many years to undo early life indoctrination especially when it included not believing that the Bible really is God’s revelation to man. So thank you. I praise God for you and tell my friends and family about this app.

With my wife, we've now finished the 3rd book on this app. We've read the Bible before but this is a completely different experience. We're learning so much from Pastor Langham and seeing details that we've overlooked in previous readings. What an incredible power comes from reading and understanding Scripture and this app has made a huge difference.

WMy Sharee and I hand been married 40 years and some change. Even an old dog lille me can still learn. It's like Sharee says marriage can take work. TTW has been a wonderful tour guide journeying through the book of Genesis. Very thorough, in depth teaching, easy to understand. I have shared it with friends & i also recommend it to everyone who wants to understand the Word of God better and also grow in faith.

My 2 young lady lodgers and I have just discovered and loved listening to Kris Langham going through Numbers, a chapter a day after our evening meal. Then I learnt about Through The Bible and find Kris and other speakers there most interesting and spiritually helpful (more interesting than the automated voice used in some books on YouVersion). Today I spent time praising the Lord after reading and hearing the introduction commentary on Ezekiel. It brought that book to life and I look forward to reading and hearing more. Love Kris Langham, his explanations are excellent (and funny!) This is a great tool to use for understanding the bible. Kris's explanation is followed by David Suchet (Poirot) reading the scripture - excellent! This app is soo helpful in many ways. It helps me diver deeper into studying different Chapters by providing chapter audio and text and speaking to us an analytical view of the Chapter. They also just changed the Bible reading audio to a different voice that isn’t that familiar, boring, robotic man voice that is easy to fall asleep to. The new voice has emphasis on certain words and talks more live-like! Thank you all, Chris and the other creators/speakers for putting your hearts into creating a great app for us as siblings in Christ! I 100% recommend to anyone

I just finished Ephesians with my young adult son. We are South Africans, doing church planting under an unreached people group in Mozambique. Our son is studying with a grant in the US, and the distance and lack of means to visit has been a huge challenge. How do we still have a voice, especially spiritually over such a distance? We find the Through the Word app an immensely helpful tool in this. Our TTW discussions often spills over into in depth phone conversations. Thank you for this unique format and means to continue to have input into our young adult son's life!

I love meditating on the Psalms. I appreciate Kris & Peyton and their delivery of what they have learned and what God has revealed to them through their studies.

TTW has helped in so many ways. It has kept me on a daily plan to read/hear the message. All the plans have touched me in someway, am I doing enough? Is GOD pleased with what I do or is he frowning at me. I know I am not perfect but I am better than when I started to attend Church but still have a ways to go. Will I ever get there? I share with people in my congregation and let then know for me at least listening to the commentary I pick up and understand more, Through The Word is truly sent by GOD through your commentary. Today I have finished an almost three year journey. I have completed the Old Testament journey one chapter at a time. I have read through the Bible several times but nearly 3 years ago I wanted to go deeper than surface reading. I started this journey and quickly found it was like a mini Sunday school lesson in podcast form. It brought the events of the Bible into clearer focus for me and gave me a more concise picture Jesus in every book of the Old Testament. I even started journaling. My alone time with God has improved and I am serving in my church from a position of overflow rather than from a sense of duty. It is not longer “I have to” but rather “I get to”! Through the Word has helped bolster my spiritual walk with the Lord and for that I am eternally grateful. Please know that anyone I may influence for the Lord, you have had a hand in that influencing. Thank you doesn’t seem adequate enough but thank you and God bless you and your ministry.

I startedTTW in Revelation cuz I felt so confused about it! Pastor Chris you took the veil away + showed me Gods words were not meant to confuse! Walking thru ea chapter is so exciting to me! God’s promise ful filled + we have So much to look forward to! How are we worthy?! My 31yo son passed 5 yrs ago, then my sweet hubby Sept this year. But God! Revelation is the light in the times of darkness for me! I’ve shared TTW with many people + would listen with my Tom when he was so sick. It brought hope + a smile to us both! You are real, honest, hilarious + bring the Bible to life! I did a road trip to Yellowstone last year with 4 women (took 3 weeks) while Tom held down the fort + was so happy that I go. Little did we realize how much I would need that when he got his DX + to stand beside him all year thru 5 surgeries, radiation + chemo. God is good! I know where he is! He is not lost! Jesus welcomed him + our son was waiting for him. Praise God
