Our journey with through the word started 2 years ago. I received a diagnosis of stage 4 renal carcinoma in December 2023. 4 days later my right kidney was removed and 2 months later part of my bowel was removed. I started immune therapy in January, and the sessions were very painful on my lower back (at this time I have toxic neuropathy which makes it necessary to walk with a cane). We made a trip to M.D Anderson in Houston and was informed that what I had was fatal and we were sent home to make plans. My wife was put in the care giver role and now is experiencing anxiety and depression after watching me go through the surgeries not knowing if I would survive. My wife's sister told us about TTW and we started listening and, even though we were going to Church on a regular basis, we were not fully committed to Jesus. Listening to TTW and learning more of the Bible, our relationship with Jesus is growing by the day. We realize how blessed our lives have been and because of what TTW has taught us we are giving thanks to the Lord for the many blessings we have been taking for granted. TTW has truly strengthened our faith and has led us on the spiritual journey that has shown us the power of love for Jesus and the power of forgiveness.

This program is way much better to understand about the meaning of the bible. First listen to the meaning from a man and read the actual story afterwards is so wonderful than trying to understand it the hard way alone. Thank you very much I'm ready to hear the whole book

I started through the word during Covid. I was reading my Bible with a reading plan. My neighbor texted me and asked if I'd like to try another way to read the Bible I listened to Kris's invite to TTW, I've been a listener ever since! WOW is all I can say for how you opened Gods word up! Things I missed reading on my own, things I didn't understand, I'm now grasping. My husband and I also during this time have joined a Bible teaching church, praise God! & an answered prayer!! Sometimes I think Kris and our pastor have talked, as your messages work together. I just wanted to say "thank you". Had it not been for my neighbor sharing, I may not have found TTW. And yes I do also share TTW!!

Connecting the dots between the Old and New Testaments. Explaining customs of the times for greater understanding. With Through The Word as our teacher, we have created a small group study that meets weekly in person and also connects through the “Group” feature. One of my favorite parts is the open discussions we have that lead to asking questions which leads to digging deeper into His Word.

I have been a Christian for a number of years. I found this plan incredibly useful. It’s helped me see links between the Old and New Testament that I hadn’t seen before and the importance of the Old Testament today. The plan is so well put together. The daily section are of a digestible length and really encourage a healthy Bible reading habit. I have forwarded some parts to friends who I know that section would help and guide. I would recommend this to both believer, seeker and those who don’t know what to believe. Thank you I look forward to the next plan.

TTW has changed the way I study the bible and is giving me a far better understanding of the Old and New Testament as it's coming together chronologically for me, as I get it explained verse by verse, referencing other verses old and new, just a great app. I got introduced to TTW by a friend, and it's been something that I needed to help me gain understanding as I journey through the bible and I have been a Christian along time, it's a great vessel a great new tool for me, it's reignited my need and desire to be deeper in God's word and understand it- I am going at it slowly and it's a learning in a way that I feel my soul is being fed again. Then, I started thinking about rules I should follow to observe the Sabbath. Your study of Galatians in Journey 4 showed me how wrong I was to worry about following the rules. I was becoming like a Pharisee. Thank you for your teachings.

I have always avoided Revelations because I didn’t understand it and there are so many different teachings on it. Finally I invited a group of men to join with in studying Revelations using TTW. We have be using TTW studying different books of the Bible and I have loved every one. I can’t tell you how the study of revelations has changed my life. I actually didn’t want it to end. I have drawn closer to Christ and it has helped me grow stronger in my desire to stay pure in my heart and mind, because I want to spend eternity with my Father and the Lamb. Last year, my family wanted to read through the Bible in a year. I picked a plan through YouVersion, but it went too fast and some did not finish. I saw Kris on some of the Guided Scriptures through YouVersion and decided to try Through the Word Journeys this year. All but my son joined us. Please pray for him. I also offered the plan to all of my siblings and their children as well. My nephew-in-law decided to join us. They are loving the pace, detail, and humor in Journey 1 and are actually unhappy when you do not cover all parts of a chapter. Journey 2 begins on Tuesday and I will extend the offer to everyone again. Thanks for offering I great learning tool. I have studied the Bible for a while now and even I learned new things.

I use to be scared of the end times, not understanding its meaning. Even as a child I dreamed of the nightmare. Church would touch on it, just enough to feed my fear of it. I never really understood the meaning. It was always doom is coming! The older I got my intense fear turned into doubt, just not knowing what I was going to endure if I lived long enough and the end times came in my lifetime. Why do the churches not teach from Revelation more? I am going through your study and it has given me a whole new outlook and understanding. God loves his children so much and has already provided his protection but he also has no tolerance for those who have chosen and serve the evil enemy. It really brings new meaning to God’s power. Your study has answered so many questions and helped me understand the symbolism in Revelation. It is so good I will go through this study again! I don’t fear it anymore ! I am in awe of Gods power! Thank You!

I always get something more out of Genesis and this plan was no exception. Thank you for all your work on this. I especially like the side B episodes. The insight about the deeper meaning of the prophecy in chapter 49 was something I hadn't heard before. I also liked the emphasis on forgiveness at the end. It helped me understand me more and life, living. And when I fail, turn left instead of right, where to-look(UP) and to know God is there. I’ve been taught stories from the Old Testament however am new to reading them for myself. Pastor Kris’ teaching through Esther opened my eyes to the character of God in a new way. Seeing how God is always working in our obedience and trust in Him. How He loves us truly in the Romans 8:28 way. My cousin invited me (and other cousins in other states) to join her and it has truly been a blessing. I normally read through the Bible (in chronological order) every year. It's always fun and I find something "new" each year. This year I wanted to try something different that would still "force" me to open the Bible. TTW was it! The commentaries made me look up some things and it was fun to read along as the scripture was narrated. The 10 minutes a day was amazing, although I always took longer because of my "side" research.😊 I was able to not only enjoy this but include it along with Sunday sermons, Wednesday night Bible study, my other Christian reading ( and of course prayer) and did not feel stretched or stressed. An extra special bonus was being able to listen to my cousins comments on the lessons! I'm now trying to decide where to start next as this is for sure my Bible study for the year. The main thing that through the word has helped me do is establish a solid Bible study plan that’s easy to follow and become a solid habit. It has helped my sister and I grow closer to each other and more importantly, closer to the Lord. Before I started through the word, I only remember certain parts in stories from Sunday school class. We are now starting to be able to quote scripture, retain what we’re learning, and put it to use and practice in our daily lives. even if we’ve already done a chapter in a new plan has the same chapter, we just get to deep dive into that and we always find something we missed and something we can take away from each lesson.
