Wall of love for Wamide's Wall of Love
Corporate Communications Manager, Rite Foods Ltd.
Before working with Wamide, I was drained. I had just left a toxic work environment that left me drained and my self esteem in tatters. I have engaged with Wamide's work off and on since 2022. Name it - Her LinkedIn articles, Twitter posts which is where we met, her newsletters which is great value, her AMA sessions and even her speaking sessions and I say this to say, I have gotten value from every of her work I have engaged with till date. So basically, I knew Wamide and I knew I needed to work with her more indepth for my next level.
After my 1st live session with her, she gave me some assignments and those tasks were deep soul work - not for the faint hearted. One of those tasks was a raw skill audit. You see, one of my fears was that with only 3 years work experience in PR, I wasn't experienced enough to reach for more senior roles even though I have 13+ years of total work experience. I spent a whole night working on that raw skills audit, and it was like a veil lifted off my mind.
`
Best believe, I went to bed with an imaginary shoulder pad that I haven't been able to put down.
The result of that audit including other frameworks we worked on has been a game changer for me.
When it came to my positioning, and Wamide said the word 'Integrated Communications' it was as if a light bulb moment went off in my head.. It felt so right - as if I had waited all my career to be called an integrated communications professional.
Another big win was how assertive and clear I was about my next place of work. From the interview to the negotiation process, especially during negotiation, I was confident because I knew the value I was bringing to the table.
I would recommend Wamide to any mid, senior level career woman who needs clarity or wants to transition.
