The donuts are super awesome. Doesn't matter what you buy. They are all good. But I did have the apple fritter and it was so good. Depending on when you arrive, there may be a line but it moves fast. And sometimes there isn't anyone but you and your appetite!

Definitely worth the short line - get a sampler and definitely try the crumb donut, the cronut and the blueberry cake donut!

Amazing donuts. A large selection, baked fresh daily. Some of the more popular kinds sell out quickly (boston creme, apple fritters, etc.) so go in the morning!

Delicious and cheap. The crumb donut is awesome!! All four of our choices were bomb - super sweet yes perfectly baked. Soft and crunchy in all the right bites. Best baked donuts ever. I've had delicious toppings and fun flavors but not with this quality bake job!

Ive been buying donuts from this place since the 80s. (24 hours open means when you're on the way home late, they'll be there when you need a quick bit of sugar) My office is near there, and I sometimes pop in for an Apple Fritter and coffee.

Legend has it that Bob's donuts has been here forever and it probably will be forever here stacks and stacks of boxes accompanied by stacks and stacks of fresh donuts stop stop sugar overdose!!!

What do I say about this place? It’s simply awesome place to get donuts. It’s fresh, crispy and tastes great. I am pleased to come here again

I'm a donut fanatic. I look for them wherever I travel and I was already looking forward to trying these before flying to the U.S.. We woke up at 3am because of jet lag and decided to walk the mile to Bob's Donuts for an early breakfast and it was worth it. We got 2 glazed, a maple glazed, a maple cake, an apple fritter and a pecan roll. We ate the fritter on the walk back to the hotel...absolutely amazing. The texture of these donuts are perfect--just the right amount of chewiness and so fresh. The maple glaze is something I can't stop craving. Great experience!

We were only in SF for a few days and just had to try the big 9” donut! Loved it but it took more then a day for the 4 of us to eat it! Also tried the apple fritter which was amazing! Next time I want to try the other flavors like key lime and cotton candy (would’ve tried this time but we ordered for pick up and they weren’t an option).

I’ve never got to see a big donut in real life so I’m glad I finally laid my eyes on one from here. Plus the place & service & place was dope 💯

Oh yeah! Now that's a donut! Not much selection but who needs it. When you bite into one of these donuts it's like time stops, the heavens open up, and just for a moment you can hear the angels sing. You chew a little bit more, swallow, swish with some coffee and you slowly come back to reality. Quick, take another bite for another feeling of heaven. Sooo good.

Just had one of the best, melt in your mouth, sour dough maple donuts I have ever had. Great selection and pretty good pricing. The coffee is not bad either. Will be coming back on my next trip!

(The coco pebbles are for scale) when I came back the my apartment building I was holding it up like a proud fishermen photos were taken babies were laughing it's just a crime to have to eat just a modern marvel. They make there donuts so delicious that you take a bite of the none frosted side first just drink that in for a moment.

Best Pastry Shop in Sam Francisco!!! Went here several times during our stay in SF.You need to try the Apple fritter! Everything else we ate here was good too.

One of the best donuts I have ever tried in my life! The dough itself is very fluffy and the glazing is not too sweet which I love! A must try if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

Loved visiting this place each morning for coffee and one of their specialty bagels. They always offer a free shot of an iced latte and a mini doughnut. They also gave out free samples of mini doughnuts, which were awesome! We'll definitely be back each day for the rest of our stay.

Bought one of the giant donuts and it was everything I dreamed it would be !! It was nice and fresh tasting, and well cooked. There was no line up when I went. The employee was friendly as well :)

Just wow! My wife loves to find a good donut place so we walked over a mile from Union Square just because she found this place on Yelp. I was complaining all about the walk and the sweat and life... Until I ate this Donut! This place is amazing! Everything is good but their Crumble Donuts are out of this world! It is a small little place so it mostly a grab your food and go type place but their are great little coffee shops all around that you can sit down and enjoy your food. Definitely worth a stop!

I have been dying to try their donuts out and they were amazing! I just had a glazed donut but it was delicious and worth every calorie! There's was a line when I was there at 10:30pm but I'm told that's uncommon.

Grabbed 6 donuts as breakfast for two, but could have made do with 4 (or maybe split a 5th) since they were hefty boys. All the variations were really good, but my favorite was the glaze since it allowed the donut itself to stand out most. Hard to improve perfection. 😁👌 If you need caffeine, drip coffee here ain't too bad either.

Best Donuts and Pastries around. It does get lots of business, so there is a line usually have to wait 5mins on a busy day.

We just love Bobs Donuts! I mean, who doesn’t love the greatest apple fritter of all time! Everything we eat there, we end up loving it! It’s close to our beloved Giants baseball and so much more! This pink box brings all the happy particles!

Such a delicious treat! I'm not much of a donut person but whenever I'm in the neighborhood I like to grab a snack. No matter what time I go, whether it's 2am or 6pm there's always fresh donuts or pastries coming out of the fryer. There's typically a line but that goes by fast, and everyone that works there are really friendly. If you ever go you must try their apple fritter. They're these large mounds of dough and small pieces of apple deep fried and glazed to perfection. Also there's these massive round donuts that are crazy to see cause they're so big. Keep up the good work guys... 5⭐!

Easily 5 stars. The donuts are great and of very high quality. The dough is soft and you can tell they are made fresh. At the same time, the donuts are surprisingly cheap (as of December, 2021). They could definitely charge more for these donuts because they are just that good. Definitely would recommend coming here if you love donuts, even if it might be a little out of the way. This feels like San Francisco’s version of Voodoo Donuts.

Don’t mind driving from San Mateo to San Francisco to get these donuts. They are open 24 hours so what are you waiting for? I definitely recommend crumb donut and classic donut.

What an experience! One of the top places I wanted to stop by during my time at San Francisco. 24hr Donut joint offering a large variety of donuts and some of the biggest cake sized donuts I've ever seen. Ordered the apple fritter (by popular demand in the reviews) and I think the name was the crumble donut? Basically a monster donut topped with crumbling of left over donuts. Both were amazing although I preferred the apple fritter. Portion size was huge and relatively cheap eat. Can easily split one donut between two people. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic donuts!! Stopped here after having breakfast around the corner but still managed to get 3 donuts because I couldn’t resist how good they were. Super friendly and great customer service. There’s a challenge for a huge donut, if competed they’ll refund your purchase and you’ll get a shirt and on their wall of fame.

Can't say anything new that hasn't already been said. There Apple fritter is the best fried dough thing ever made. It's so good. I could eat them until I pass out forever.

Had to come and try out the famous donut! They are as good as everyone's reviews. Even got to enjoy fresh out of the oven...oh so yummy! Wanted an apple fritter but sold out early, would have to wait 2 more hrs for next batch so settled for the loaded apple bread...awesome!

Very very good donuts. They feel so genuine and authentic, unlike other artificial sludge balls served at mainstream outlets. I pray such establishments always keep doing well and exciting the many patrons that visit it. The cashier/server was very helpful and forthcoming too.

I dont live in San Fransisco but each time i visit i always come to Bob's. Their selection is generous and the taste is amazing. One of the reasons i got hooked was because of their colossal dought! It is at least 8 inches in diameter! Also there is always a line of at least 10 people on the weekend so be patient! I hight recommend this doughnut shop. You will not be disappointed.

Loved the local vibe of this place. The staff were funny and knowlegeable and the classic counter seating I loved. I attempted the "Challenge" and failed massively but had a hell of a good time. Weirdly after an hour of leaving I wanted to go back for another donut it was that good. Make sure you visit this place and it is 24hrs so no excuses.

The queue out the door for told of something special, and the aroma driving out of the shop seemed like we were on to a good thing - but O.Em.Gee the donuts were outstanding. Please try the crumbed one in particular - it was delightful!!!

Whether trying to soak up the last couple of shots from a hard drinking night on Polk street, or grabbing one of their famous crumb donuts with a cup of coffee to start the day, Bob's should not be missed. I went there to pick up one of their giant donuts to bring home to train for their donut challenge...

Hands down! The best fluffy doughnut i’ve ever tried in my life!!!! I visited to this shop in 2019 and until today I’m craving the Maple doughnut! And I regretted that i only hot one piece! HIGHLY recommended!!

Best Apple fritter I’ve ever had — like that it doesn’t have the gushy jam filling. Loved the cronut too - super light and yummy!!

Stopped by at 6:30am. There were 3-4 people ahead of me. But didn't take very long. Ended up getting chocolate cake glazed and raspberry filled. Both were good. They had more than just donuts. Saw crossaints and muffins as well. Lady at register was very friendly.

The giant donut is a novelty, it's what attracts you to this donut shop. It was good, but their crumb donut is better (sadly, we ate them before I could take a picture). We stopped by around 9:30 and although there was a line out the door we didn't have to wait too long.

Tall fluffy chewy apple fritters crispy exterior, not too sweet, still warm. I don't usually get these anywhere but I would def get these again here. Crumb donut hands down the best. Soft yeast dough, maybe a hint of Earl Gray tea in crumbs make it so yummy? What is that secret ingredient? Cream filled chocolate bar yummy choco and refrig so cream doesn't go bad. Thaaank you. Yummo!!

A short line but donuts (glazed) were put into the fryer and some plain old-fashioned had just come out. The apple fritters are thick and like a cinnamon roll with apples.

GET THE CHEESE PASTRY. I am so freaking impressed with the quality of these pastries being it is a 24hr spot. I mean: flaky, sweet, creamy, flavorful. Can a person ask for more?? Bob's is a SF must when in need of a sweet bite to eat. I want to take them all home with me.. but I'll just eat them everyday until I leave ;)

You can't go wrong with a donut from Bob's. It is a beloved institution, and a staple for delicious donuts in the neighborhood. Heck, I've walked a mile to get a donut from there. They are famous for their crumb donuts, so if you haven't been, be sure to get one. I ordered a dozen, and the gentleman asked if whether he could choose. I left it up to his expertise, and he did not disappoint. A couple of crumb donuts, some glazed, a bear claw. And the total came to less than $30 after tax and tip, which is what I expected. You can also buy online, but I suggest buying in person so you can see exactly what they have. Right now, it's only open for takeout. And they do not accept cash. And be ready for a line because it's popular.

Mostly just takeout, it's a really small location but best doughnuts in the area for sure. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the jelly doughnuts, they're more like a doughnut sandwich with jelly in the middle rather than the traditional filled doughnut, but if you like a lot of filling you'd probably love them. But even the plain doughnuts are great here, usually warm too because they're always busy. Price is reasonable, $14 for a ½ dozen but I think that 2 of those may have been specialty (maple bacon). Also in a city where everything is closing earlier and earlier, Bob's really is open 24/7!

Happened to see a queue outside the store, so we decided to check out what's going on. Spotted that the doughnuts looked authentic and they taste just as great! Definitely recommend if you are craving for s snack.

Bob's donuts is a fun nostalgic place to visit in San Fran. The giant donut is only $12, you will finish it by end of day. It's almost like eating 12 donuts lol

Donuts are delicious! Many to pick from. We bought the hugh chocolate sprinkle donut it waa soft and full of flavor. Fast friendly service.

Soo many selections of fresh donuts made all day and night. The coffee is smooth and perfect brew. As for all the donuts, There is only one thing left to do. Buy one, and you will be a forever fan. You definitely cannot go wrong with Bob’s there’s so much sugar in these donuts I’m sure at some point in time in life I’m gonna have to stop eating these but until that day I will continue to enjoy these donuts. They are delectable soft and especially when you add in a glass/box of milk it just turns into an amazing day. The line usually isn’t too long and it moves fairly quickly I am so that’s a plus I’m at is in somewhat of a sketchy part of Polk Street we can get harassed a little bit by the local homeless guy but outside of that I am super cool staff large array of donuts so you really can kind of get in and get out with your donut fix.

If you can only go to one donut place in san Francisco this is the one. It's cheap it's good and the area seems safe. One donut will run you about a buck fifty. Parking is typical for the city. I recommend you get a donut then check out the vibrator museum across the road.

Super friendly worker. Really prioritize sanitation and social distance. Only allowed 1 customer to go in to order at a time. The donuts looks so fresh and yummy! Had the best recommendations by Google maps 👌

A San Francisco staple for years. When there’s a line in front of the place throughout the whole day, you know it’s good. A classic confectionery location with a couple of twits thrown in for good measure. A doughnut is a doughnut until it’s made perfectly. That’s what you get at Bob’s and that’s what expected at Bob’s. I made sure to get the giant doughnut when it just got out of the oven. The locals here are very aware of baking times, hence the lines. Now that’s true commitment. Paired with a cardboard whole milk and your living the high life. No frills just straight up excellent pastries. Dos doughnuts up 🍩🍩

Some of the best if not the best apple fritters in the city. Warm when fresh, crispy, a tad fluffy and chewy at the same time with enough squish and flavor. Well glazed and seasoned!

Cheap amazing donuts, what more can I say? I just love this place. Every time we visit our family, we find ourselves at Bobs donuts at least every other morning. People are always very friendly and hot fresh donuts smell greets us. They have variety of donuts but crumbs and glazed are just must haves! How can you also not grab a hot cup of coffee for a dollar?! Goes perfect with your donut! If you are visiting, grab one (or three) hot donuts before you get in line for some oysters down the street.

Donuts are a very special for me so finding the perfect donut is an incessant journey in my life. Texture, rise, flavor, toppings... It's a world in itself. Having said that you can imagine I've been to many donut places - I have, and this one has won a special place in the top of my list. We ordered a variety of donuts which aren't all in the pictures: old fashioned chocolate galzed, normal chocolate glazed, an almond ring, cinnamon and sugar donut and a simple glazed donut. None left me down , all were devoured and enjoyed. The flavors were spot-on, the cooking prices and the softness of the donut was amazing. I'll be honest with you, the place isn't pretty but the taste of the donut will make you forget everything. They have a few seats inside with a bar in which you can see the magical process of cooking and glazing by hand in which I hypnotized me for about 15 minutes. The price is cheap for the quality of donuts and everyone is aware of that fact, so be prepared to make a line for your donut. Also, be prepared trying to decide beforehand in the window display and peeking inside to show some consideration with the rest of the customers. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves donuts .

They accept credit cards and phone payment methods. Cash needs to be exact change and no bills larger than $20. No area to sit down. No bathroom. But great donuts. 🍩

We went here at midnight, but the line was long. Got to the hotel and instantly regretted it. Stop by at 5:30am on our way to the airport. I wanted an old fashion donut and wasn't disappointed, but they had a buttermilk donut that blew my shoes off. I was at the airport bare footed. Got our donuts, had some laughs with the bakers and some memories. 10 out of 10 for me.

A very small and cute spot in SF. The donuts are always fresh and some more sweet than others (there is something for everyone). The maple donut is absolutely wonderful as a classic donut and the raspberry filled one reminds me of an old English classic donut. Definitely the best donuts in SF. They even have huge donuts that look like cakes, perfect for a donut lover’s birthday cake option. Would definitely recommend checking them out as they are open 24/7. P.S. you may find small line ups on weekends at night. If you’re a tourist you might meet some locals and I recommend asking what they’re favourite flavours are because those are some of the best!

They have some of the largest donuts ive ever seen. A fair selection of different donuts the special donut of the day was a creme brulee glazed. If you like sugar then this os a must stop!

Bob's is my type of place. You can get a donut anytime you want. What makes it special is when they make a fresh batch at 11pm. Night owls like me appreciate a warm donut middle of the night... Doesn't matter the flavor, just get a fresh one. Also, these aren't fancy gourmet donuts... Not expensive like the way they should be. Sometimes a line at night but it moves fast. There's seating for maybe a dozen people at most. The best is to sit at the bar so you can watch them make the donuts. Not for the healthy or faint of heart but... It's a donut! Staff has always been friendly. I love Bob's.

4.5 is more accurate but 4 was too harsh! Donuts are good! When you’re dealing with 24 hour places, can’t hate on “freshness” but obv some are going to seem fresher than others. We asked and maple yeast was straight out of the oven. All their yeast are great. We are fatties that like extravagant flavors, but gotta appreciate a well cooked yeast and cake donut every now and then. Whatever the cinnamon log cheese thing in the pic is... you need it! Amazing
