Thank you for your email, and more importantly, for all the time, energy and professionalism you brought to the BSME x DAIGON Esports Competition. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you throughout.
I have been genuinely impressed with how seamlessly you managed the logistics, handled challenges, and kept communication clear and consistent across all schools.
You set the tone for a smooth, well-run competition and it really made a difference, both for the students and for us as staff.
I tried my best to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible from our side, and I appreciate the patience and support you showed throughout.
Thanks again for everything. We are already looking forward to the next one!

No better way to start a Monday morning than hearing the successes of a school’s esports journey!
This morning, I caught up with Stuart Pardoe from British School Muscat about his outlook on Year 2 of their esports program.
Last year was their very first venture into esports through the COBIS - Council of British International Schools x DAIGON Esports Competition … and they won 🏆 in both Rocket League and Minecraft 12+!
Here’s how that success has transformed their school ⬇️
“Thanks to the COBIS – Council of British International Schools Esports Competition, interest has skyrocketed in our school. What started as a competition quickly turned into a catalyst for real change -- we’re now creating a dedicated esports room with PCs, consoles, and lighting, and even exploring adding esports into our curriculum. It’s become one of the most exciting new areas of school life, engaging more students than ever.”
– Stuart, BSM
And on the power of esports for inclusion and confidence-building:
“It’s so good for kids that aren’t the sportiest but are very good at gaming — it’s really good for their confidence. I’ve got students from the football team who also enjoy esports, but also quite a few quieter kids, and this has become their thing. It’s really nice to see.”

Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill was buzzing with excitement as we hosted the Independent Schools Association (ISA) eSports finals, and what a day it was!
A huge shout out to our fantastic student volunteers, whose initiative and dedication was nothing short of inspiring.
A special thank you to the wonderful team of colleagues and student volunteers who baked all morning to raise money for 1001fontaines.
Kudos to ISA and DAIGON Esports for their trust. Together we have demonstrated the power of eSports to develop teamwork, resilience and strategic thinking in our students.
And finally, to our incredible eSports team who secured an epic 2nd place and made everyone proud.
Their journey doesn't end here; they will be carrying our school's colours to the Schools eSports World Championships in Malta in Autumn 2025 and we can't wait to cheer them on!
As coordinator, I had the privilege of bridging different worlds and witnessing first-hand the passion and dedication that eSports brings to our community.
The future of eSports is bright and we're thrilled to be a part of it. Let's keep the momentum going! 🇲🇹

Esports offers an incredible opportunity to engage students beyond the classroom, combining their love for gaming with valuable skills like teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving. I’ve experimented with various approaches and shared my experiences in this article, particularly with DAIGON Esports last term. Let’s work together to bring this exciting and productive educational tool to more students!

Beyond the Game: What Our First eSports Tournament Taught Us
Last weekend, students from The Aga Khan Academy Maputo stepped into a whole new arena—their very first eSports tournament, made possible through the support of ECIS, the Educational Collaborative for International Schools and DAIGON Esports.
Representing our school with pride, these 11 students weren’t just players—they were ambassadors of what it means to create space not just to fit in, but to truly belong. eSports became more than a game; it became a platform for diversity, courage, and connection.
Our U15 team performed incredibly well—guided and cheered on by their wonderful coaches who dove headfirst into the world of Minecraft competitions, learning and leading alongside the students.
But today, I want to shine a spotlight on our Under 12 team.
This young team, with no prior competitive experience and limited access to tech, were the true pioneers of this journey. They faced opponents with more practice, more tools, and more experience—and still, they showed up.
They were brave enough to step into the unknown.
They had the grit to keep going when things got tough.
They were humble enough to lose with grace, and resilient enough to grow through it.
In that moment, they grew in so many ways; they learned to handle big emotions, to persevere, to support one another, to accept their own need to grow, and to respect the skill of those already further along this path without feeling threatened by it.
From the outside, it may have looked like just a group of kids playing Minecraft. But for those of us who had the privilege to witness it—it was something far more powerful. We can't wait for their next matches to see how they will continue this journey.
Here’s to our students, our coaches, and to every educator making space for new kinds of learning.

What a fantastic way to cap off an incredible month! Yesterday, we hosted Arcadia British School's first-ever Esports Minecraft competition, and it was a massive success. It's something I've wanted to do for such a long time.
Over 500 of our students formed teams to compete for the coveted title of "Master Builder" in an exhilarating day of competition. We're so proud of their enthusiasm and teamwork.
A huge thank you to Elliot Mack from DAIGON Esports for his invaluable support in making this event a reality. He shared with me that this was the largest single-day student participation he's ever seen in one of his competitions, which is a testament to the incredible energy and excitement at our school.
If you're considering bringing esports to your school, I highly recommend reaching out to Elliot Mack. The support you receive is truly exceptional.
Of course, a day like this wouldn't be possible without a dedicated team. A big thank you to our amazing Games Masters of Bedwars: Amra Iuoop, Tom Gayler, Alice James, Liam Cain, Nicola Walker, Stella Linares, Paul Fisher, and Liam Walsh. Your hard work and dedication made the day a memorable one for all the students.
Time for some well-earned rest, and summer travel
