Your book, "Tech Simplified," has been nothing short of a guiding light in my quest to conquer the tech world from a non-tech background. I was midway between the confusing Level 1 and the exciting Level 2 of tech understanding when I first came across your book, in 2021. Little did I know that your book would become the bridge that connected these two worlds for me. Here are the invaluable lessons I've gleaned from your wisdom:

During my graduation, one of my favourite professors mentioned something that really stayed with me โ€œContinuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any fieldโ€. This is something that I have tried to live by, lately I was looking for a structured class to upskill myself and well, happy to inform that I took one of the best decisions, to join the pmcurve - Product Led Growth Cohort. ๐ŸŒŸ

After four months and more than 100 hours of intense learning, I'm thrilled to share that I've successfully completed an incredible PM Curve - Advanced Growth Program! Shameless Plug-in: I managed to secure an A+ Grade ๐ŸŽŠ

Throughout the program, I've delved into fascinating concepts that have completely reshaped my approach to product led growth strategies. From growth modelling to creating seamless habit forming customer experiences, every lesson was packed with actionable insights.

A special shoutout to the amazing Deepak Singh and team for their guidance and expertise, and to my Shasleen Islam for recommending this transformative course. ๐ŸŽ‰

"Seek shelter in the knowledge of those who have gone before you, for in their lessons lies the path to wisdom." These words from the Bhagavad Gita remind us of the importance of having wise mentors in our lives.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a mentor like Deepak Singh. His deep knowledge and passion for teaching are truly inspiring, and being in his presence is a gift in itself.

I had the pleasure of joining the first batch of Deepak's pmcurve course on Product Led Growth, and I was impressed by how he made the course practical and applicable to real-world scenarios.

From end to end, Deepak covered everything related to PLG, and the topics had actionable insights that I could apply in my work as a product manager. What I appreciated the most about Deepak's mentorship is that he helps you find your own path. He didn't just provide answers, but instead challenged us to think critically and have a deeper understanding of each topic.

I have been following Deepak's work since he started writing his Growth Catalyst newsletters, and I can say without a doubt that he is a true guru when it comes to Product Led Growth.

His mentorship has been invaluable to me, and I highly recommend the pmcurve course with Deepak Singh to anyone looking to deepen their Product understanding and learn from a wise mentor who genuinely cares about your success.

Thank you, Deepak, for sharing your knowledge and helping us so much! Immensely grateful :)

I was in the 2nd cohort of pmcurve and Deepak Singh is probably the only PM in India who doesn't get swayed by the hype and speaks to the fundamentals of frameworks and keeps PMs grounded in metrics that matter. It's also a reasonably priced course. This is a big deal because it's more accessible than your popular courses.

I recently completed pmcurve Growth Playground - A self paced course built by Deepak Singh on applications of growth concepts for PMs - AND with a decent score! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

This is BIG because it feels like a surreal culmination of the learning journey Iโ€™ve been on for the last couple of years with Deepak. A few years back, I was not even remotely close to any growth centric role. I found myself in a Growth role as a consequence of paradigm shifts that were happening post Covid19. In this grilling period of transition, Growth Catalyst (Deepakโ€™s newsletter) became one of my go to resources to seek answers to every pedestrian growth questions I had at the time.

Cut to 2023, I was learning under the man himself, in his Advanced Growth course, along with a community of smart folks. My thinking and approach to problems I work on at Beatoven.ai have largely been shaped by the newsletter, the course and the playground.

Thank you Deepak for everything you do! Your advice on โ€˜doing boring things because no one else willโ€™ has been life changing. Made me read a couple of tech research papers related to my domain. Canโ€™t say I understand everything, but at least now I am more aware than ever before, and slightly less intimidated.

After 3 years of college, and exploring different job responsibilities, I chose product. Maybe this time, the kid in me wanted to tinker her curiosity back. Realised, the only way to not feel stuck and grow in this domain and life in general is to feed my curiosity. Today, I took a step. I applied for Deepak Singhโ€™s pmcurve course and I got through the application. Checked my finances and finally enrolled for the course :)

Excited to share that our team has emerged victorious in the Capstone competition for the "Product Led Growth" course by Deepak Singh! ๐ŸŽ– The challenge was to find ways to double the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) for Zomato in the upcoming financial year. This course has been unlike any other I've taken in the past. It was all about pure, real learning with no show-shah. When I initially started working on the project, my goal was to consolidate my learnings. But as we delved deeper into the project, it felt like we were truly leading Zomato's growth charter. Special thanks to Deepak Singh for his incredible mentorship and guidance throughout the course. I've gained immense inspiration from his journey and his expertise in tackling tricky topics. I'm eagerly looking forward to taking more courses with Deepak in the future. Once again, thank you to my team, our judges, and Deepak Singh for this incredible learning experience.

The PM Curve - AI Assisted Prototyping course is a masterclass in AI-assisted product development. Itโ€™s incredibly refreshing to focus on practical, rapid prototyping learning how to transform a simple UI concept into a functional, end-to-end full-stack app. I especially loved the hands-on demos using tools like Bolt, Replit, lovable, and LangChain, seeing how to integrate databases and build actual agentic systems was empowering. As a bonus, diving into LLMs and learning techniques to minimize hallucinations really sharpened my technical perspective. If you want to build smarter, faster, and bridge the gap between design and a functional product, this course is an absolute must.

Growth Assessment (Free) by Deepak Singh was one of the exciting thing that I tried today (link in comment). The assessment takes you through 25 questions about Product growth. Here is why I loved it 1. Nobody else that I know has approached product management concepts with such an objectivity. 2. Management is a subjective field and product management being a new field is much more subjective. You will see many subjective point-in-time insights shared on LinkedIn, Twitter. There is a very high chance of failure if you apply these insights without the knowledge of context (Business model, Year, Goal, Customer Segment). That's where such exercise helps. 3. The application of theoretical frameworks changes as per the time and industry. And there are trick questions on this in the assessment. PS: Score-wise I did well, but I enjoyed diversity of the questions.

Sharing key takeaways which anyone working on a new feature/product can learn from๐Ÿ“:

There are 4 key areas for getting to PMF: Classify products: A product can fall into multiple categories based on North Star of Company and PMF changes on this basis.

โœ”๏ธTransaction-based products: Amazon will focus on several transactions happening
โœ”๏ธAttention-grabbing products: YouTube on the other hand works by grabbing users' attention, so DAU becomes an important metric

The last 10 weeks have been different. Signing up for Deepak's pmcurve Growth course & dedicating some hours every week has to easily be one of the best decisions I took to elevate my skills as a Product Manager.

I could not imagine that all the basic stuff we hear about when talking about Product Growth - Acquisition Channels, CAC & LTV, Metrics, Monetisation etc. have so much depth than what gets usually covered.

The course was designed with a lot of thought on how an active form of learning can be deployed into a "byte" type program with exercises, followed by recorded sessions - all to contribute towards a more logical way of retaining what we learn better.

To add to that, the WhatsApp & Slack communities that come with the course are gems with at least 2-3 great discussions every week.

If you are someone who is looking to add some valuable arsenal to your kit, I cannot recommend pmcurve by Deepak Singh & Priya Singh enough!

"A fan moment from last week's meet-up! " During my early days in product management, Deepak Singh's "The Growth Catalyst" newsletter and insightful posts were my guiding light. Deepak's willingness to engage and mentor, even via chat, was truly remarkable. Fast forward to last week, where I finally had the pleasure of meeting him in person and getting my copy of "Tech Simplified for PMs" signed. During this, I also got a chance to interact with some amazing Product managers working in different problem spaces and organisations like Gameskraft, Decathlon , dailyhunt, BOX8 and many more. It was a good freewheeling discussion - where I learnt a lot from their challenges, approach and thought process. Deepak's humility, candid nature and mentoring skills are truly inspiring. Thank you, Deepak, for your ongoing dedication to empowering the PM community! Thank you for organising the meetup, and good luck for your initiatives.

Structuring the Unstructured!

First thing in my to-do list for Saturday was to attend โ€˜Cracking the Product Sense MasterClassโ€™ by Deepak Singh and Shrikant Rane! I sat down with my notes and a cup of coffee โ˜•๏ธ because I was sure I would have a lot of insights as takeaways from Deepak!

Thanking Deepak for simplifying every complex topics and making it an easy pill to digest! A huge fan of your book and all your work! ๐Ÿš€ What is your way of dealing with an unstructured problem?

Among the many things discussed, a standout insight was: Mastering the art of โ€œStructuring the Unstructuredโ€ ๐Ÿ’ก Here are my key learnings:

 1. Navigating Structured and Wicked Domains:

What are the complexities of decision-making in domains where structure is absent, and decisions may shift due to external factors like market changes or competition. How do you navigate through such situations?

2. Defining Product Sense:

Product sense is defined as the ability to make well-informed decisions, especially in unstructured scenarios. It involves providing structure, identifying core problems, inspiring confidence, and quantifying success or failure.

They beautifully explained this through the Airbnb Example - Decoding Covid-19 Challenges

How does one build trust with the teams you collaborate with? Not by showing off your knowledge but by understanding the problems and challenges of other teams and applying that knowledge. One of the biggest hurdles is that when one doesnโ€™t understand the domain of the cross-functional team, one comes up with unrealistic expectations with no curiosity to learn, leading to poor collaboration and outcomes. It is always a good feeling when someone gets you. One such domain is tech, we might not have learned code in our past education but we can always get our basics right. To help with that, I came across the book Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh when I attended one of his product sense sessions. It is written in a simple language of an 8th grader and simplifies the new-age technology in use. A must-read if you wish to excel in your career and work with tech teams to design beautiful digital products!

"A little late but had the opportunity to attend a wonderful case discussion of upGrad conducted by Deepak Singh over the weekend ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ One of the greatest joys of being part of a learning community such pmcurve is that there is continued learning even after the 'course' is over. As Deepak puts it, Product Management is an ill-structured domain but such case studies really help unspool the threads of this craft. Can't say I can speak confidently about the nuances of EdTech now, but this has definitely helped with understanding how to break down product-led companies and pattern-match in ambiguous situations :) PS - Not the most flattering screenshot of Deepak, but the slide was appropriate. I assure you Deepak looks much better outside of screenshots."

๐Ÿค” Ever wondered, how much tech should you know as a PM? Many aspiring and early PMs frequently ask me questions like:

1. How much tech should one grasp before stepping into PM? 2. Which programming language is crucial for a PM role?
3. Should I prioritize PM skills or coding proficiency?
4. Can I transition into PM from a non-tech background? ๐Ÿ’ก

The good news? You can absolutely become a PM without having a technical background. Many fantastic PMs come from diverse fields.

You donโ€™t have to learn coding at all to get into product domain. But, letโ€™s take an example; You're the product owner, the captain of your product ship. To navigate effectively, you don't need to be a mechanic, but understanding the engine (the tech behind your product) is crucial.

For PMs eager to build their tech fluency, "Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh" is a fantastic starting point.

I had joined pmcurve-growth to benchmark myself against other seasoned PMs. I was also looking for a mentor who has excelled in his career and who may help to accelerate my product leadership journey. I am glad that I came across and joined this cohort, because I believe it has given me tools to navigate through growth phase products much more confidently. There are lots of resources available online, but bringing them together with relevant context is where I found most value. Deepak has been able to curate pertinent case studies and an intelligent and experienced group to discuss and debate these out with. By far, the best use of my weekends. Highly recommended if you want to build a great product sense and do what PMs behind successful products do.

I recently finished reading Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh. This book was a delightful journey, rekindling my curiosity to delve deeper into various tech concepts I first encountered during my graduation. Here are my afterthoughts on the book: 1. While a lot of PMs focus on gaining deep technical skills, at most times basic โ€œLogicโ€ which can be implemented even in tech concepts is highly underrated. 2. It's common to lose interest in a topic due to uninspiring teaching or sources. However, it's important not to dismiss the topic itself based on initial impressions. Give it a second chance, starting with basic, relatable analogies. 3. Whatever you might have read on a topic years back might not be read much today. This doesnโ€™t mean what you know is obsolete. This just means that people are not focusing on how the wheel was invented, instead they are focusing more on what could be done with the invented wheel.

I recently stumbled upon the Barometer Story while reading Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh, and it really got me thinking. In the story, a student is asked how to measure the height of a building with the aid of a barometer. Instead of giving the textbook answer, he comes up with a bunch of creative solutionsโ€”like measuring the buildingโ€™s shadow or even using the barometer as a pendulum (Read the story yourself.. its fun). It made me realize how much we sometimes miss in our education system. Weโ€™re so focused on teaching students how to do things that we forget to help them understand the what and why. We box them into one way of thinking, when in reality, there are countless ways to solve a problem. What if we let people figure out the "how" on their own? What if we encouraged them to explore, to think critically, and to come up with their own solutions? Every problem is unique, and so are the ways to solve them. valuing the journey of discovery could be more fun if we just let them fail. After all, thatโ€™s where real innovation happens.

This course has helped me immensely in understanding the various aspects of product growth.

Earlier my knowledge of product growth was not very deep but this course provided me with a much deeper understanding of the strategies, tactics, and tools needed to grow products.

I learned about everything from customer acquisition, attribution models, activation, and retention to product-market fit (and much more). One of the best things about this course is its practicality. The course is filled with real-world examples, case studies, and exercises that allow you to apply what you've learned.

Finally, I must say that my mindset has changed significantly after completing the course. It truly was transformative (as promised). The course has helped me identify the key metrics that matter, set clear goals, and develop effective strategies to achieve them. It has helped me connect with and learn from a lot of great PMs in the cohort.

Grateful to Deepak for the course.

I just finished reading the book 'Tech Simplified for PMs and Entrepreneurs' by Deepak Singh. If youโ€™re a non-techie, donโ€™t have a background in coding, and work with tech stakeholders such as software engineers, this book is a great starting point to understand their tech world in a simplified way and speak their language. As Deepak writes โ€œMost of the tech literature is written by techies for techies, and someone without a computer science background would find it hard to understand.โ€

I am already applying the frameworks I learnt in this cohort in my organisation. Deepak broke down complex concepts in a simple manner that I have become more confident in approaching a problem. My relationship with data has improved. The best part about the course was Deepak himself who went over and above to talk about concepts outside product management too. We had a discussion on AI, Podcasts, case studies and many other things. Even the people in the cohort were really smart and i benefited alot from others questions.

Deepak Singh explains in his book "Tech Simplified" (with a readability score targeting 8th graders, as promised), the level of technical knowledge needed depends on your role and career stage. He outlines five levels: L1: Beginner: You have little to no understanding of technical terms or concepts used by engineers. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ L2: Novice: You grasp the general gist of technical discussions but not the specifics. ๐Ÿ˜ L3: Proficient: You understand what's being said, what's important, and the implications for your product. ๐Ÿ˜Ž L4: Expert: You comprehend every technical decision in detail. ๐Ÿ˜‘ L5: Coder: You can write code yourself. ๐Ÿ˜œ

The last 2 months have helped me to structure my thought process around product growth.

Some of the key learning for me have been

a) Growth model and Concept of counter metrics

b) Product-Market-Pricing-Channel fit and why one should continuously monitor and evaluate these

c) Importance of Core Action, the natural frequency of action by the user for Retention

d) Understanding of retention curves and strategies to improve churn.

Apart from the core content of the course, there has been so much to learn from Deepak. His dedication to experimenting with new ways to engage members, sharing useful resources to continuously enhance learning, and his ability to connect data with insights has been truly motivational. Thank you Deepak for all your support.

Although I did this course a little late but the material was still relevant and useful specially with clarifying the agents and workflow part and how designing a good workflow can lead to create good agents in the future . finally how to identify good use cases internally for agent implementation and set the real guardrail metrics . Overall its a 10/10 for anyone who wants to learn and grow in the current space .

This program helped me understand how product thinking and AI tools can come together to quickly turn ideas into working prototypes.

During the program, I explored how to use AI prompting with no-code tools like Lovable to build simple websites and product prototypes. I also learned how these prototypes can be connected with a backend using Supabase, which helped me understand the basics of how frontend and backend systems work together.

Another interesting part was getting a basic understanding of n8n, where I experimented with creating simple AI agent workflows and automations.

As someone exploring product and AI-driven building, this experience gave me a practical look at how quickly ideas can move from concept โ†’ prototype using modern tools.

Grateful to the amazing team at pmcurve, and instructor Deepak Singh, for creating such a hands-on learning experience.

This course gave me a great hands-on understanding of how fast AI prototyping is evolvingโ€”from idea to working product in no time. I explored tools like Bolt, v0, and Lovable, and even built my first GitHub repository, which was a big milestone for me. The journey from frontend to backend to agentic AI, along with a strong focus on real-world constraints, made it extremely practical. Thanks to Deepak sir for such a valuable learning experience.

I am thrilled to share this testimonial for Deepak Singh, based on my experience being part of the first cohort of the PLG course with him.

Deepak's dedication to teaching and creating a positive impact was evident not only in his words but also in his actions. He frequently encouraged us to capture, evaluate our learnings and share feedback with the cohort, which enabled great peer learnings as well.

Another aspect of Deepak's teaching that resonated with me was his ability to bring structure to the often chaotic world of product management. His approach is the best out there, and I found it incredibly valuable to learn from his years of experience and wisdom.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Deepak for consolidating his expertise and making it accessible to us. I am confident that the skills and knowledge I have gained through his course will serve me well in my future endeavours.

Thank you, Deepak, for your commitment to teaching and making a positive impact on your students' lives.

I recently had taken Deepak Singh's cohort course on product growth, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best investments I have made in my professional development.

Deepak's approach to teaching is both engaging and insightful. He has an incredible depth of knowledge and experience in the field of product growth, and he is able to distill complex concepts into easily.

He covers both the quantitative & the qualitative frameworks for the growth which I felt is critical to understand to build successful products.

Overall, I would highly recommend Deepak Singh's cohort course on product growth to anyone looking to enhance their skills and knowledge in this area. The combination of Deepak's expertise and the collaborative learning environment created by the cohort made for an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience.

I have been reading this book called Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh. This is the book recommended by one of my friends to read. Since I come from a biology background, I don't have an in-depth understanding of overall tech concepts, but I have a strong passion for technology. There came a game-change in my learning journey.

This book helped me to get a bigger picture of all the necessary tech concepts in a simple and easy way which made my life very simple at my workplace, especially in communicating with the team and personally, in improving my knowledge and skills ๐Ÿ’ก The most beautiful thing about this book is that tech is simplified to our real life examples. If you are someone coming from a non-tech background, this book is really recommended.

I had a great learning experience with you. As an experienced Project Manager and founder, you bring a strong understanding of both client and end-user expectations. What stood out to me was your practical knowledge of various AI tools, along with clear explanation of their pros and cons based on real-world usage. I especially appreciated the way you explains concepts and answers questions using relatable examples and analogies, which makes even complex topics easy to understand. Your sessions are insightful, practical, and highly engaging. I would definitely recommend you to professionals looking for industry-oriented learning and guidance.

Found the course incredibly practical and accessible. What stood out most was Deepak's simplicity of the language and the structured, hands-on approach, which made complex AI prototyping concepts easy to understand and apply. I would highly recommend this course to any Product Manager looking to quickly turn ideas into working prototypes using AI.
