Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh - The first book I read in 2022 and one of the fastest ever reads. A refreshing read on a Saturday after a hectic week at work, which made my day :). This is something I had been looking for long, specially in initial years of product career. The analogies drawn by the author in the book are brilliant and apt. I personally use daily life activities to give analogies to explain the PM concepts / APIs to my juniors / colleagues. I wish I had found such a book much earlier in my PM career. A must read for all aspiring PMs, PMs and techies. This book is not only meant for PMs, it is also a must read for business folks who manage digital partnerships / alliances, strategy folks, analytics / data engineers and without doubt CEOs who are running internet based businesses. Thank you Deepak Singh for compiling your learnings and fundamentals into an easily understandable book / ready reckoner. Very few people in your professional journey will actually help explain the 'hows' and 'whys' of system design / tech concepts articulately. Why wait for such a person? or rather the right person or mentor at the right time. When you can read this book at the right time :). This book easily calls for being part of the orientation / welcome kit given to new joiners in tech companies :).

 And now Product Growth! Growth can often appear to be a very ambiguous and unstructured domain because there is no fixed answer to problems.

I recently finished reading Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh. This book was a delightful journey, rekindling my curiosity to delve deeper into various tech concepts I first encountered during my graduation. Here are my afterthoughts on the book: 1. While a lot of PMs focus on gaining deep technical skills, at most times basic “Logic” which can be implemented even in tech concepts is highly underrated. 2. It's common to lose interest in a topic due to uninspiring teaching or sources. However, it's important not to dismiss the topic itself based on initial impressions. Give it a second chance, starting with basic, relatable analogies. 3. Whatever you might have read on a topic years back might not be read much today. This doesn’t mean what you know is obsolete. This just means that people are not focusing on how the wheel was invented, instead they are focusing more on what could be done with the invented wheel.

To help with that, I came across the book Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh when I attended one of his product sense sessions. It is written in a simple language of an 8th grader and simplifies the new-age technology in use. A must-read if you wish to excel in your career and work with tech teams to design beautiful digital products!

I recently stumbled upon the Barometer Story while reading Tech Simplified by Deepak Singh, and it really got me thinking. In the story, a student is asked how to measure the height of a building with the aid of a barometer. Instead of giving the textbook answer, he comes up with a bunch of creative solutions—like measuring the building’s shadow or even using the barometer as a pendulum (Read the story yourself.. its fun). It made me realize how much we sometimes miss in our education system. We’re so focused on teaching students how to do things that we forget to help them understand the what and why. We box them into one way of thinking, when in reality, there are countless ways to solve a problem. What if we let people figure out the "how" on their own? What if we encouraged them to explore, to think critically, and to come up with their own solutions? Every problem is unique, and so are the ways to solve them. valuing the journey of discovery could be more fun if we just let them fail. After all, that’s where real innovation happens.
