As a software developer with about 10 years of experience, I wondered why roughly two-thirds of all projects in our industry are neither on schedule nor budget - even thought I have mostly worked with very smart people. I decided to broaden my almost pure technical background and dig into this product design course. Software development is so much more than solving a technical problem or stitching together some lines of code and services! Every problem to be solved starts with humans wanting to solve a problem they experience, being in a unique context, having unique abilities, unique preferences, unique constraints...
This course gives a good overview and gives very good reading recommendations. However, the most valuable aspect is the detailed feedback to your shared exercises! Each of your submissions will be a unique submission due to your unique background and talents - and you will not get a standard response, but individually tailored feedback on what is good and what can be improved.
I highly recommend the course to everyone, who wants to broaden and sharpen their problem-solving skills, regardless whether they have a software developer background, design background, product manager background, or something else. There are people with all kinds of different backgrounds in the course and such a diverse community is cool and valuable in itself.

In the beginning of the course, I was surprised by the amount of lessons about business thinking, UX research, and the preparation and thinking that comes before actually designing the user interface. This course helped me to understand the logical process and steps before designing and that design is nothing without UX research. Also I really enjoyed that every lesson has extra resources and information so that you can better understand the idea.

Just a big thumbs up to Elizabeth for integrating Mindfulness elements into this course. It came totally unex-pected, but as a meditation practitioner myself, was as a super pleasant surprise. In our difficult economic system and particularly the field of design with all aspects of the job and job market, I would say its crucial, necessary that we try to integrate mindful approach to our lives and careers, to be able to create mindfully as well as reduce stress and prevent burnout. I totally recommend not skipping those parts of the course, as not only you can learn useful skills here, but also get directed towards being a more compassionate and understanding per-son, qualities which are so desperately needed in today's world

The course is very easy to use, it is attractive/consistent in terms of the interface, and I found it more informative than the Google UX cert I have been taking.
Both are wonderfully helpful, but this one has been more clean cut and full of more external resources. I also appreciate that there is one major project. My other cert had 3, and while I may still do all 3- it was overwhelming alongside the amount of information, and. sometimes felt I had to do extra digging to complete a task. Overall, I haven't experienced that with DU.

The overall experience is good, and I really enjoy it. The community is active, so I appreciate receiving feedback on my assignments and enjoy giving feedback as well. The resources are useful, though I sometimes struggle to have everything in one place, like templates on Figma or certain templates on Notion.
The overall experience is good, and I really enjoy it. The community is active, so I appreciate receiving feedback on my assignments and enjoy giving feedback as well. The resources are useful, though I sometimes struggle to have everything in one place, like templates on Figma or certain templates on Notion.

This kind of way of delivering the message with color theory was super practical and super easy to come up with what kinds of themes we (designer) would want to. It was such a valuable sharing but i think we should also need to talk about accessibility with colors that we use. Isn't it our main task to focus on balance mix of a good UX and a beautiful, aesthetic UI delivery right? Anyway, this 20 mins was super useful and thank you so muchhh ️

It's an awesome course, the instructor is very good explaining the details of each lesson. I highly recommend it from beginner level designers to the most experienced ones.
