I have long admired the strategy and creative mind of Claire and have been impressed with her ability to convene and engage smart women. She no doubt will bring a valuable set of skills and capabilities that will only grow and provide more impact over time.

I was recently the fortunate recipient of Claire's free summer coaching sessions. What makes Claire effective as a coach is her quick, yet thoughtful diagnosis of a situation. We spoke for 45 minutes, and at the end of the session, I had three solid action items to start immediately. I also felt more inspired and alive after our time together then I had in a quite a while. My conversation with Claire highlighted ways in which I could better manage interviews. By taking the pressure of "telling my stories" just so and moving the interview into a more "conversational" state, as the interviewee, I can 1) understand what problems the team/hiring manager might be trying to solve and 2) showcase in the interview how I might try to address them. At the end of the day, people want to understand what it would be like to work with someone, and what better way to show that than through a conversational working session?!? You should work with Claire if you want someone who is both direct and encouraging - she'll tell you what you can do better (e.g. in terms of interviewing) while simultaneously reminding you are a rockstar.

Claire gave actionable steps during and after the course that help provide direction for my business. She has great energy and she is so relatable. I would highly recommend taking any of her offerings!

A little about me: I moved to LA for the summer to work a low-paying but dream gig, and when I got back to NYC, I was sort of at a loss. What should I do? What did I want to do? How would I pay the bills prior to transitioning back full-time to LA in the winter? In steps LGP. Without LGP, I wouldn’t have acquired all the great remote work I’ve gotten and, essentially, wouldn’t be able to move back to LA. Therefore, one of my big goals when I get to LA is to become more involved with LGP IRL. I can’t thank you enough for this incredible community you’ve built. LGP has truly transformed my life as I transition careers and I can’t stop talking about it. You’ve created a great space online and in real life for women to connect and network.

I am 49 years old, a mom of 3 stepchildren and 2 biological children. I have been taking care of kids, pets, houses, volunteer causes, you name it, since age 24.My youngest is about to graduate from high school and go to college; this is an important transition time for me. I have taken time off from work, gone back to work, taken time off again...etc over the past 25 years and my career has proceeded very slowly. This is in spite of the fact I have an MBA in finance and statistics from a top 3 university. I have always been afraid of the business world in spite of my elite education, and I have always felt like a small underachiever even though my earlier life groomed me for the top.I heard about Ladies Get Paid from a podcast while walking my dog. The minute I got home I found the LGP website and signed up. I also signed up for the LGP salary negotiation webinar. I have since listened to the webinar twice and am working through it a third time, taking notes in my career journal.This came at just the right time, as I had 3 interviews this week.I have had better interviews than ever before in my life! I am confident and presenting myself as a top performer. I am marketing myself as someone who is worth top dollar. I am not letting my checkered work experience get me down, in fact I am finally starting to be proud of how much I have done during my limited career, and how much I have done as pro bono work.Thank you so much for founding Ladies Get Paid and putting together the salary negotiation webinar. I met Claire Wasserman, Founder of Ladies Get Paid at a time when I was feeling uneasy about my own negotiation. I can't even begin to explain the amount of advice, assurance, and compassion she showed me. Safe to say, she's a force to be reckoned with and is empowering women across this nation to get what they're owed. I had an opportunity to sit down with her for a Her Agenda #PowerAgenda interview to discuss her work and motivation behind Ladies Get Paid, the importance of following our curiosity, and being our own cheerleader!

This week, I'm going to pass those insights along to my students and brainstorm ways I can continue to facilitate change so we can all get paid.

On a personal level, I appreciated the acknowledgement that women frequently feel lucky to get a job and that the onus is always placed on women to prove ourselves. Seeing other people nod along in agreement helped me realize that these feelings are not weird or unique but that I don't have to accept them as status quo.

I have to admit when I remembered that it was an 8.30am start on Saturday after a hectic week of work I did a mini internal groan, but fool that I was in order to fit in that jam-packed day we genuinely needed to be there at that time.

I wanted to thank you all for putting together such an incredible and informative event. I learned a lot, and felt honored to be able to volunteer and help out. The LGP conference was life changing to me- I had already negotiated my new dream position, and was set to start salary negotiations for the week after the conference- very lucky timing. In the 'how to ask for a raise' session I realized I was about to ask for less that I deserved based on how I was hired, not my current output i.e. I realized I was going to let my history decide the next step. That session was the difference of a 15k increase to me.

Thank you for bringing the Ladies Get Paid conference to Seattle last week. I thought it was excellent and I got a lot out of the experience. I will be looking for other opportunities to connect with the Ladies Get Paid network. I learned something from each panel, and your keynote really hit home. I wish Ladies Get Paid all the success in the world.

Thank you for putting on an incredible day last weekend. I was nervous and hesitant as to what to expect but I left feeling empowered and inspired. I can’t wait to participate in future LGP events and invite all of my girlfriends with me as I believe we all need to be immersed into this force field you’ve created.

I attended the Get Money Get Paid conference in Seattle yesterday, and I just wanted so say a big thank you to you and the team. I attended with a friend, and both of us have been saying "we're going to start applying for new jobs soon" for the past 3 months. Unsurprisingly, we've made zero progress with our "soon" mentality. We both left the conference fired up and not only ready to get after new positions that will pay us what we're worth, but also inspired to find new ways to smash the fucking patriarchy.

Because I went to the salary negotiation training and the conference in Seattle, and did some solid self care the last few months, I feel like I have successfully found my voice again after leaving my toxic team at Amazon last year.

Overall, I expected to enjoy the talk, but not to the extent that I did. I left feeling empowered and unstoppable. I felt as if I had a room full of strangers that supported and rooted for my success. I now feel more prepared for any discrimination I may face as I enter the workforce as a woman, as well as being more informed on how to handle those situations. I would highly recommend this talk to any of my peers and have followed the Ladies Get Paid ILM Instagram so I can be informed of additional activities I can attend. I wholeheartedly cannot thank you for covering my ticket, I obtained knowledge tonight that I will carry for the rest of my career life.

By attending this talk, I was able to learn from other women who have experienced the hardships and unfairness in the business world first-hand. It became evident from stories of unfair pay, sexual harassment, and derogatory comments that being a woman in a position of power is not easy. Not only were these stories told from the members in the audience, the panel of intelligent and experienced women were able to give advice on how to handle the situation. I am a firm believer that women were raised to compete with one another, which is why women can be so backstabbing and mean. Despite this belief, these women supported one another unconditionally, even those whom they had never even met prior. They were friendly and supportive of one another, a setting that I have rarely seen but was so proud to be a part of.

On November 8, 2017 at 6:30 pm, I had the honor of attending the Ladies Get Paid discussion. There was a panel of six business women who gathered at the front of the room who were questioned by the founder, Claire Wasserman. Although Wasserman began asking questions to form discussions from those on the panel, the eager and active audience began revealing their questions and heartfelt stories. From the audience I was able to see all these strong women clap, laugh, and shed tears together. Although I had not spoken to majority of the women gathered in the small Beam Room above Front St. Brewery, I felt an unspoken bond and friendship with them all by the end of this 2.5-hour discussion.

I loved the intimacy of the event: the size was perfect. I also really loved that it was an open conversation of shared experiences and that audience members were also welcomed to share. I also loved that there were a ton of different industries represented. What I think was perfect: having an panel of many ages, backgrounds, and industries.

Thank you so much for hosting us tonight for the navigating relationships town hall. I was moved and bolstered and I felt the powerful energy of the female collective in that room tonight in my bones. We are powerful together and I needed a reminder of that today.

The panel was truly excellent. I appreciated not only the diversity of background and experience of the ladies but also, the vulnerability and willingness everyone displayed in sharing their stories and advice.

I wanted to let you all know that, thanks to my workshop with you last month, I was approached by 2 Market Media (a media partnership company) and officially signed with them today! They reached out after seeing me on LGP's social channels, and we're now going to be working together to launch my podcast, get a book proposal going, re-launch my online course, get me higher-paying speaking gigs, and (hopefully) get me to the next level with my personal brand.

While, there is still some work that needs to be done on my end with regards to feeling comfortable with the process of negotiating and feeling comfortable and confident in doing so, I feel much prepared than I ever have been. It went so well and I know for sure that I felt equipped because of all the amazing tools and resources you sent me. I hope you get a million emails like this a day. You did a Webinar at Team One a few months ago. It was timely because I was interviewing and I used every inch of your presentation and many articles from the Slack channel to negotiate. I did what you said: talk about salary. I found out I was making less than other employees at my level here (don't worry, I'm paid less than both men and women. I would have burned this place to the ground if it was gender-based). I used that and everything else you shared to negotiate and am happy with where I landed. (I did second guess myself and thought maybe I could have gotten a little more since I was so successful - now I know for next time). I've shared so much of what I learned to other women and hope to LITERALLY pay it forward.

The part where you talked about getting anxiety and accepting it, and then thanking your body for trying to keep you safe and protected, that made me tear up a bit. I always punish myself for getting so nervous and never thought it was an option to just be kind to myself and let it pass.

I'm SO glad I went to the workshop. It motivated me to speak with a friend in the office who started as an intern making $21 an hour! If I had asked for $20 I would have still been making less than an intern straight out of college. My recruiter pushed back and thought asking for $25 might insult them, again bringing up the percent increase. I went back to her saying I was confident in my numbers- I was paid less than 96% of people in my position. I did my research and that helped me feel more at ease with my request- I was simply asking to be paid fairly.

Just wanted to share with you that today I had a preliminary phone interview for a job cthat I've been cworried I can't too coz of the scary job description, but I kept all your words of wisdom in mind and I made it through to the next round which is the big in person meeting.

Let me tell you also that I had been job searching for over a year, with at least 14 first-round interviews under my belt (yeah I know, insane). It just so happens that LGP was the magic I needed.

Within my first month of joining LGP, I applied for a position at a company that neither I, nor my network, had any connections. So I posted an ask on the LGP Slack and of course heard back at once from amazing women who were willing to help by passing my resume along - whether it was a personal connection or a friend of a friend. And of course, them passing along my info was what got me in for interviews! Am so pleased to say that I just put my 2 weeks in yesterday and am moving on to this new opportunity!

I'm slowly transitioning out of a position I've held since the beginning beginning of 2007, pre-Great Recession. So essentially I've been out of the job market for ten years, and the webinar helped dissipate some of the "fear of the unknown" that I have been struggling with as I move forward and apply to jobs. It was helpful to review the importance of a cover letter, what kind of outreach or follow up is appropriate, salary negotiation, and what you have a right to ask in the interview. I feel more prepped to get out there and get paid!

I absolutely loved this talk, I learned so much from these amazing and powerful women. I enjoyed their stories and hearing about their experiences. This talk made me feel proud to be a woman. I cannot thank you enough for providing me with this opportunity.

Ladies Get Paid has been a transformative part of this year for me personally and professionally, and I thank you for all you do! The conference was definitely one of the highlights of my fall.

A year ago I joined LGP because I was desperate for advice/help/solidarity after a stressful and unsuccessful salary negotiation. Apart from that, I truly love my job, so I stuck it out until my next year review to see if I could turn the situation around. I learned SO much from all of you here, on and off slack, over the year and went into my negotiations this time around with confidence and just pulled off an 11k raise! Thanks LGP for being such an incredible resource

I brought a few lady colleagues of mine to the event last week at Knotel and we met some great people there - we all agreed it was one of the least awkward networking events we've been too and we've been to MANY!

I have to remind her that, sure, I may be out there by myself, fighting for myself alone, but I couldn't do this without the constant support of strong women like my mother, and men, like my father and husband, in the background. They have encouraged me and reminded me that I am capable of great things, and that hard work and persistence pays off and respect is earned. I feel that Ladies Get Paid is exactly the structure we need, a network of strong and smart women and men who encourage us to push ahead and never back down. We are in this together and we could not do this without the support of people around us, both men and women.

I recently started a new job and negotiated a pay raise for myself (a very proud moment for me). I have done this before in my career, twice with the same employer (also two more proud moments). My mom was a stay at home mom who came to the US at 20 to marry my dad. The only paycheck she earned was the value of raising her own kids and keeping a clean home and a meal on the table for us. Yesterday her and I got to talking about life and she said to me in a heavy Italian accent "my husband always worked two jobs, and I was young and I hated that he had to work two jobs, but I couldn't earn much money and I had you kids to raise. So I would say to myself, my kids are never going to work two jobs. And now I see you breaking down doors, speaking up for yourself and asking for a raise, all by yourself, it really touches me and makes me feel proud."

I wanted to send a note to thank you for starting Ladies Get Paid and for hosting the event last week. It was truly an inspiring and empowering event! I was shocked to hear some of the stories shared by the panelists were so similar to my own experiences. I joined Ladies Get Paid about a year ago to become apart of the movement for women’s equal pay. Though I feel I am fairly compensated it is important to me to represented equally among my male peers, to understand women's behavior, how we are different than men in work settings, and to work together to change the worlds perception of women. To be a part of Ladies Get Paid to me means not only equal pay, but equal treatment and equal respect.

I've been obsessed with LGP, you and your mission since I saw you speak at a NYWICI event a few years ago! It's been amazing to watch LGP grow and is such a fun community (and slack channel) to be a part of!

Ladies Get Paid has made such a huge difference to my business since I decide to work for myself full-time. I've become a better negotiator, have made major progress with my imposter syndrome, and have met some really incredible women.

I love LGP. I have learned so much, built so much confidence, and have been seeing improvements in my cash flow. They attacked us because they feel threatened, because they should. We are making waves and creating change, all through this awesome thing that you built to lift others up and not tear them down.

Because of LGP, I have met many inspirational people, and have uncovered so many invaluable resources, all of which have been helping me through a rough transitional/group period. I don't know what I (and others!) would do if LGP didn't exist.

So- this has been a long stressful process to first deconstruct my inferiority complex, make a strong case for myself for a merit based raise, and then to raise the issue of compliance with DOL regulations- and Ladies Get Paid has been with me every step of the way. In the short time since I started this process- I’ve gone from being scared shitless to even think about asking for a raise (read: literally tearing up at the thought of having my performance review) to being able to fearlessly advocate for myself and others in front of the most powerful people in my company. The platforms and tools you have built have made a huge difference to me, to the two other women in my company who will benefit from this process, and to all the other women I will share this knowledge with.

My boss got back to me and said based on the case I made for myself for a merit based raise, I could get a little bit more of an increase. I presented her the DOL memos and articles that the lawyer had sent me and showed my boss where in the law it stated that the salary offer was out of compliance with DOL regulations. She showed them to the executive director, the legal director, the finance director and a week later they all got back “with their tails between their legs” saying that I was right, that they were not aware of the new changes in the regulations and that the salary they offered me was below the threshold. They offered me a higher number, the salary I originally asked for, while keeping my overtime protections for an additional $2,000-$3,000. I accepted and then pointed out that they were also out of regulation with two other women’s salaries.

I went home, watched the ladies get paid webinar on how to negotiate your salary and made another case for myself on why I should get a higher merit based raise than what they offered. I also started researching NY labor laws to show them that the salary offered was below the legal threshold to lose overtime protections. I posted about my situation in the LGP slack group and connected with a lawyer who practices labor rights law. She sent me a ton of articles and DOL memos that validated that my analysis of the law.
