I just started using Palette and I think it's the best colorizer I've ever tried. It gives you great control of your image and the colors are lush and rich. Below, you'll see my digital collage of the great film villain Conrad Veidt. With the exception of the figure far left, all of the images of Veidt were black and white. I also used Motion 5 and PhotoScape X for this piece.

This app is a great way to give your picture a whole new palette, without the headache of colour-matching yourself in Photoshop. Highly recomended - especially for grayscale images

I'm the keeper of all the old family photos. I've been working on scanning and repairing. I thought it'd be fun to see them in color. I don't have the colorizing feature with my older Photoshop software so I tried some available online apps. They were either too complicated for my simple tech mind, or the color they rendered was really off, like people ending up with blue ears, or the app not being able to properly correct for fading in the photo. ie: a man has black pants, but some of the pants are faded, so the colorization app gives him black and red pants, because the fading is tripping the app up. And if the color was alright, then I could only save at a much smaller resolution, too small to print. I tried brands such as Corel Paint Shop, AKVIS, My Heritage, HOTPOTAI. I then tried Palette and was really amazed! The colors are accurate, and with a reasonable subscription price, I'm able to save at the higher resolution I need. I'm attaching a before and after. I know the colors are correct, because I have a newspaper clipping describing the color of the attire the groom and bride are wearing. The original was about 8 megapixels, and the new, colored version is about 13 megapixels. You are limited on the size, megapixel-wise, on the photo you upload to if you want to convert to hi-definition, but with the improvement in quality, I am still getting an end result that is high enough in resolution to print!

While no colorize tool is perfect, Palette is by far one of the best out there. It is superior to Photoshop's Neural Colorize filter in every way, as well as FOTOR's too. While FOTOR does an excelent job recovering faces from blurry photos, it's Colorize function is just not that good. I've found that by running several different presets in Palette, downloading them and combining them with masks, results in the best outcome. Before, I used to color images by hand with layers, which was quite time consuming. It's easy to get an old school-hand tint look doing this, but near impossible to get a REALISTIC look. Palette gets you as close to "reality" as possible in a very short time.

An absolutely fantastic application that everyone who works with old photos needs to be using. It's much faster and more impressive than whatever Adobe has with their Neural Filters. Praise God, and thank you.

Loving using this app. I’ve coloured some old family photos and get a much improved result over photoshops neural filter system.

I like looking at old pictures, and now that I saw Palette, I just said I have to have this. I'm already older, but the tools are simple, even for me. Everyone should have this in their computer, who has old albums. can refresh them Im happy man

I have been trying out different AI colorizer apps during the past few months, and was experimenting with a few more last night when I discovered Palette. It emerged as the winner compared to the others I was trying. Its colors were more plausible, there were no continuity problems, and it excelled in coloring human faces. It also handled large image files with ease. So far, Palette is the top candidate to be the AI colorizer that I will use the most from now on.

This service is a dream, easy to use and reasonably priced. The number of filter options available to alter the look of your photos is unparalleled. I had a black and white photo of a 100 year old house that I wanted to colorize and, using the Vintage Ambiance filter, I now have a photo that looks like it was hand colorized. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. Rick

Why are you looking to color your photos? I am doing research work with photos from the early 20th century of families of Italian settlers in Chile. Coloring them allows us to recover details and get closer to reality What is the experience of using Palette? It is a simple platform, easy to use, but very powerful What other tools did you try? Adobe Photoshop How would you explain Palette to your friend? A moderate cost platform, easy to use and with excellent results Any further tips for others looking to colorize their photos Sometimes you may need to pre-process photos a little to get better results, but Palette generally does a very good job.

This is by far the best colorizing software I've used. The separations are pretty accurate, and it's nice to have access to different color schemes. Here's an image of Mannie Maddern Fiske, a very famous American actress from the late 1800s. I expected to have to do some cleanup, but most of these results are excellent right out of the box. As noted, for even better results, it helps to upscale and cleanup dust and scratches before colorizing.

I am looking to colorize my photos because I want to enhance their aesthetic appeal, express my creativity, and restore the historical value of old or faded images.

The experience of using Palette is amazing. It is easy to use, fast to process, and accurate to colorize. I can adjust the color scheme, saturation, and contrast of the output to suit my preferences. I can also preview the results before saving them.

I have tried other tools such as Photoshop, HitPaw, Colorize Images, and MyHeritage. They are also good, but I find Palette to be more reliable, consistent, and customizable.

I would explain Palette to my friend as a powerful and user-friendly tool that can automatically colorize any photo using artificial intelligence. It can transform black-and-white or sepia images into vibrant and realistic colors.

Choose photos that have good contrast, sharp edges, and clear details. These will produce better results than blurry, dark, or noisy photos. Experiment with different color palettes and settings. You can create different moods and effects by changing the colors of the sky, the skin, the clothes, etc.

This is a brilliant service. It has brought to life loads of photos from a long time ago. The colourisation is also very subtle and it's almost as if the photos were taken recently and not in the 30's,40's & 50's. Would recommend this service to everyone.

Hi Emil, english isnt unfortunatly my first language. Your programm its the only app for very beautiful skin and leave/tree tones. since 20 years I scan old family photos or photos of my favorite movies and try to color themself with photoshop. its not possible to recreate naturall skin tones. my biggest compliment. The coloration bring them back to life and the differents can't be bigger. yes its true, its not cheap but the result are stunning. I wish palette would sometimes be more feisty. clothes stay often grey also darker areas but its also very cool and not a problem to give them a little retouch for the little details. again its the best I've ever seen. thanks a lot and best wishes, Ron

It's amazing that black and white pictures turn into color pictures with one click. First of all, the time was greatly reduced, making the work easier. Depending on the picture, there are some deficiencies, but I'm satisfied.

I've been colorizing my old family photos with Palette and I am tremendously pleased with the results. Photos look real, vivid and colorful. I like that I am given the option to choose the most faithful colours. I did try other AI-powered tools before Palette and found the colorization was off.

Thank you so much for this. I only have 1 photo of my grandparents together and it’s in black and white. Your software was able to breath colour into it - I sent the pic to my mom and she said she started to tear up seeing her parents ‘come alive’ like that.

This program is addictive! As quick as the templates work, it is easy to spend an hour or more with a single photo, trying them all out and adapting them until the result is similatr to what I have in mind. I am really thrilled how this photo turned out. It shows (from right to left) my 5-year old mother, my grandmother Wilhelmine (Minna), her younger sister Bernhardine (Tinchen) and two friends during a summer visit to the Belgian coast in 1928. I definitely think the summer vibes are back!

Bonjour.

I'm a local historian and have an Instagram channel comparing "then" and "now" photos. Most of the old photos I find are B&W, and colorizing them allows my audience relate to a time long past. The colorization by Palette adds a high degree of realism and increases my audience's engagement with their city's history.

Why are you looking to colorize your photos? I was born in 1944. I have many old black and white photos of my family. I would like to colorize these photos and remember the past.

It's very fast and has an overwhelming number of filters.

I tried Photoshop Elements Editor, Siggraph2016 colorization Using the Colorize Images Android app Algorithm Colorize Images etc.

There is no need to study difficult theories of colorization. There is no need to change colorization parameter aimlessly like in other apps. Beautiful HD images. With the logo attached, you can easily enjoy a large number of photos.

I recommend to learn a little about general image editing. This allows the image quality to be adjusted before colorization. If you adjust the tones after colorizing, you will be surprised at how wonderful the result will be.

I've been waiting years for a website like this to come out. I've used other photo colorization websites, but none even come close to comparing to the quality of Palette. I highly recommend using! I think the monthly price is reasonable for the value added to my photo editing. There's just something about colorizing a photo that brings out details you've never noticed before. I'm so thankful for this website.

First of all, I´m impressed about the fast response you get in case of support questions - a matter of minutes and questions are answered by the founder himself. I found this software, when it received a very positive test result from a German computer magazine (heise.de/ct). I´m using it mainly to color old photos from my family and the results are really outstanding. Transforming people`s old b/w-pictures in a realistic coloration is amazing and a guarantee for a wow-effect. Maybe for the future, the software functions could be extended by features to filter marks, scratches and noise by AI? This is a common problem with our old pictures.

I am a very enthusiastic genealogist and my great gran uncle left about 800 pictures on gelatin silver bromide emulsion from the beginning of the 20th century, I am so happy that I found your website, I'm amazed of the result !! there are some errors from time to time but overall it gives a great result ! It's very different to see those pictures in color even if the colors might not be the original ones, it feels so much more real and it's very touching to see those images in color, it's definitely a five star for your website !

Hot piss, good timing. I'm right in the middle of a 40 minute history documentary film and colorizing some of the portraits was something I was considering. Adobe's neural filter in PS does . . . not a great job. This is immediately apparently much better!

I am a photographer and visual artist, as part of my creations I use old black and white photos. I tried palette to colorize some documents and I was pleasantly surprised with the result. even if I still have to work on it again afterwards, it really gives a good working base, and for me saves time.

Out of all the AI Colorizers I've tried so far, Palette is the only one that tempted me to buy credits for. Not only does it feature an excellent default Colorizer that needs no settings-tweak to get it started, it also features a high number of alternate presets that can blow away even the first default. That's when I realized buying 1 credit simply wasn't enough. When 'Mrs Loud' Lorraine Crosby was singing "would you colorize my life, I'm so sick of black & white" in Meat Loaf's 1993 classic "I'd Do Anything For Love", it was really Palette she was addressing. Palette will even do "that"!

In 2003 I have taken some photos from Sarah (see photo enclosed) in black and white. Today I was not so happy with it, missing colors. I tried many tools, with Palette the result was astonishing: better will be difficult. I had only to reduce purple color a bit to receive a perfect result.

High-quality colorization of my black/white photos. Best that I've seen yet for a website that can add color to photos.

I am a hobbyist who enjoys restoring historical photographs. I do a lot of hand painting, but Palette is a huge boost to my workflow. It's super easy to use and I really love it. I use it on every piece.

I had some B&W photos from my event that I really wanted to colorize, after a couple of trials with multiple services, I decided to continue with Palette and I don't regret it!

Needed a quick and convenient way to colorize some old photos without paying for a pricey monthly subscription. Palette fit my needs perfectly. I pay for what I need when I need it, and I don't have to worry about a monthly fee.

This App is amazing. Coming from a Leica M10 Monochrom user, I never thought that a Monochrom sensor could see in color. Now with Palette my camera magical can output color photos too. What a magical App. I hope there’s a real App on App Store soon. Attached is a photo from the Monochrom sensor, which totally has no color information in it and Palette could render the color very close to the actual scene.

I work in a historical society with many roles including archivist. There are many thousands of photos from 100+ years ago, and several hundred which are unidentified. Colorising them helps us to identify things in the photos, to recognize landmarks, and more. We also keep record of house histories with pictures of local homes as they were in the 1800s. Homeowners often come in looking for history on their homes, and while the originals are great, seeing them in color is amazing for them. Sometimes they want to return them to their original color scheme! The picture I'm sharing is of our Harbor before it was filled in by US Route 1. The cooperage is the little building on the rocks, and the cooper's house next to it, which eventually because the first public library here before it all burned down. Palette perfectly captured the color of our local granite and shore rocks, and the rockweed. From the old pictures it looked like the bottom half of the house and roof of the cooper shop were black, but now we can see they were matching red, which makes much more sense.

This app was exactly what I was looking for! It gave me a greater ability to customize the colors of my old photos with the AI text descriptions. I’m now able to colorize old family photos for my family extremely fast with ease.

I can't tell you how wonderful this is. My dad is dying (brain cancer) and he has a handful of pictures from his youth. I had never even seen them until 2 weeks ago. I can't wait to show him the colorized versions. I would happily pay for this. It is going to bring him immense joy. Thank you so much.

With a lot of other colourizes I was not happy with how they worked. I like the simplicity of how to use the web site. Found information about Palette on youtube.

This photo is of my late mother-in-law, how could Palette have known that the sleeves were pink? The result brought tears of joy to my wife's eyes, because she remembered that her mother's dress was exactly that colour.

Colouring photo's for a biannual family meeting. I tried many applications but until now this is the best photo colouring tool I've found. Would love to see a bigger file upload, maybe a few hundred MB's?

I have given Palette four very tough images to colorize. They are late 1800 or very early 1900 farm images. Very complex to colorize. Compared to other colorizing (Photoshop for example) the results were far and away much better. Were they perfect no, but they were much better than I dreamed. Each image required just a small amount of work to create saleable results A real time saver as I could have colorized them manually. However I am guessing an hour each, a geat time saver. Sorry I can't post them as they are customer images. The pricing is very reasonable

I had a client reach out to me wanting a black & white photo that was over 75 years old colorized. I tried many different websites and editors to make this happen and Palatte was the best one. It was easy to use, neat, and clean with the colors. For one image to be colorized it was inexpensive and the results are truly lovely.

I discovered Palette when sorting through old family photos and looking for a way to colorize them without spending hours on it, but with satisfying results. Happy with the results so far! This is a photo of my grandfather as a boy, dressed as Columbus for Carnival (ca 1895)

Just tried using palette.fm to colourise some of my Dad's old photos from when he was a kid. I've seen a lot of colourisation tools in my time, but this is just insane. I might need to add a lesson in photograph colourisation to lifereel.co

Thank you so much Emil - I have some old photos B/W of my dad who is no longer with us and have wanted to colorize them somehow for years. The results from just dropping the photos on your page - no tweaking or whatnot - are incredible and have me in tears. Amazing work.
