Friday Goals... Inbox Zero In order to really focus you always need to clean out the backlog Whenever you have a huge inbox of things to reply to it's hard to focus on everything else. There's always that nagging reminder that you have 135 things that require some attention. It's a mental weight. For me it's been an important habit to clear my inbox. I try daily but many times when I have crazy days I fail. But, I do try to end the week (which sometimes may be Sunday) with Inbox Zero so I have real clarity on the week ahead. P.S. I did snooze a few things that require some extra thought to tomorrow morning. It's not cheating, I swear :) P.S.S I do love Superhuman

Easy keyboard shortcuts. I was skeptical at first because I'm not really a keyboard shortcut user, but they really do save time when you're reviewing your inbox. Intelligent filtering. In Gmail, it feels like I'm constantly building new folders and filters to try to remove all the noise. I do very little of that now. If an email makes it into the main inbox and I don't want it there, I can tell superhuman to move it to "other" going forward with 2 clicks, or can unsubscribe in 1 click. Easy user interface on desktop. It's sleek and not cluttered and that's what my brain needs when reading email. Great onboarding that teaches you how to be better at email and use the product so you get the most out of it. Their customer support has so far been really helpful too. I got a very useful response to an email question quickly.

Their premise is it's faster to deal with an email inbox when you use keyboard shortcuts, so today they sent me a game to play to learn their shortcuts. And it was perfectly 80s arcade themed. I love when B2B marketing isn't boring. (I have zero affiliation with Superhuman. I just like good products.)

Although I was most intrigued by the AI features when I signed up, it is actually the shortcuts and the ability to have emails disappear until I wanted to see them that I found the most useful. Previously I would miss a lot of important emails because they got buried in my inbox due to a high volume of incoming mail. Now, I can use a simple keyboard shortcut to make emails reappear at a time that is more convientient for me. I also like the snippets feature to quickly type repeated phrases. I have finally stopped categorizing my emails into folders! It is such a time saver.

This is incredibly time saving. Intelligent autocorrect takes care of all your typos as your type your email instead of just showing you something is wrong. It even capitlizes names and adds punctuation where necessary. Seems small but makes your email look so much better.
