It is such a blessing to read the news in an unbiased presentation, then pray along with others all over the world for that very event. We all know how quickly we can see news on social media and begin to feel drawn to “our” side of the issues. The Pour Over helps me to read the facts and then pray over it, taking “every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ.” Thank you for being obedient to Christ and pouring into these world events, with a biblical perspective, for us!

I am frustrated by how the term “evangelical Christian” has evolved into a political group and how so many Christians think that believing God is sovereign means we need to support/endorse whoever our leaders are. I believe that God is sovereign but I don’t believe it is that simple .There is responsibility on our part to know the truth of what is happening and pray and vote accordingly. I appreciate your perspective in that quest. On another topic, I had to chuckle recently when you said your mascot is a squirrel. I couldn’t help noticing the resemblance between a squirrel and your coffee pot icon. Is that intentional, a coincidence or just my goofy perspective?

I purposely avoided discussions on current events, mostly because I was ignorant and didn’t want to engage in the discussions or conflict of “fake news” accusations. The Pour Over has changed that. And if or when I choose to discuss current events, it’s such a blessing to contribute a view reminding participants we need to live in Christ and acknowledge his Word to use as a constant point of view.
