It’s refreshing to read an unbiased article about current events. When reporters have an agenda they can’t report accurately and this corrupts the message. Thank you for reporting the facts and let the reader decide for themselves.

What a treat to have news you can look forward to. No drama, no hidden agenda, no political “slant”, just news sprinkled with God’s word.

Thank you for giving us just the current events and news and not telling us how to think about it. Very refreshing and so much less stressful. You all are doing a great job!

I’m enjoying the Pourover more than watching the news. It gives important news in a nutshell without repeating every story every day. I appreciate the scriptures from God’s word, that are included in the reading. I appreciate being informed in a civil way. Thank you Pourover!

For the first time ever (in 57 years) I am not yelling at or turning off news. And I didn't even put quotes around news! I was exclusive a news radio listener to the most neutral station I can find and then a second station of a totally different persuasion so I could hear a balance. Sometimes close to similar reporting but mostly polar opposites 🤦🏻‍♀️I hated it. I can't thank you enough for unbiased reporting, and then a scriptural encouragement to think differently filtered through God's Words rather than my own emotions and/or others reactions. Please keep up the sanity! You are also peacemakers in a violent wilderness of information, I'm sure God is pleased😉🤗

The Pour Over gives me enough information to be informed and to hold conversations with others about current events. I can go dig deeper into a topic if I want to but don’t feel overwhelmed! My favorite part is how the biblical perspective calms my emotions and brings it all back to God after reading a news article!

I appreciate the stated goal of The Pour Over to remain politically neutral and provide a Biblical perspective to the news. In recent times, I’m noticing subtle anti Trump reporting through the posts. I hope this does not continue.

The Pourover to me has been a wonderful answer to prayer. Someone who curates the news and brings the words of Scripture for us to pray over what is happening in our world, rather than just letting hard things depress us, for to call upon God to bring His presence to bear and for people to know Him through these hard things.

Thank you so much for providing a non-biased news source with scripture in-between, and quotes from various inspirational people. It makes reading the news light and encouraging instead of heavy and depressing. Keep it coming,!

The Pour Over is has served as a Christ-centered antidote to the polarization and weaponization of the MSM. When reading unbiased news through a Biblical lens, we are filled not with hate and fear from this world, but with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

I am encouraged by being able to catch up on the major news stories and then immediately being led in prayer for the event. So good to keep my eyes on God as the solution instead of stewing over the problem.

The Pour Over was recommended to me by my therapist because I was having intense and debilitating anxiety over world events, and was looking for tangible ways to lean on my faith. TPO has had a positive impact on my mental health by keeping me informed about world events without sensationalizing them, and by offering a Christ-first approach for each story reported. The whipped cream videos are always lovely too. Thank you, TPO!!

I am so thankful for The Pour Over giving us the information that we need about the world. AND after doing so we are reminded of the truth in God Word but the scriptures. New stations and papers so often make us more fearful and unproductive. Thank you for doing an excellent job and reminding us of the One who is in control and loves us much. Also, thank you for pointing us toward reputable resources as well. Keep up the great work for His Kingdom. God bless.

Most headline news has a negative spin and is heavily biased by the media. The "Pour Over" is refreshingly neutral, providing the facts in a concise delivery. The best part: Articles are followed by a biblical perspective or prayer, and a supported scripture from the Bible. This keeps the heart and mind of the reader in a healthy place.

The Pour Over helps me refocus on the heart of God while reading news. The verses and prayers at the bottom of each section call for the Christian to do more than just worry, stress, or get angry. Our God holds all things together and I am grateful for a news source that encourages me to live out my faith.

I have really enjoyed using The Pour Over. In the past, I felt pressured to "stay in the know" as a Christian, but I didn't want to get involved in all the angry, fear-inducing media networks that exist today. I am so blessed to have been referred to The Pour Over. Now I can get all my news, and only so much news, that I need.

The Pour Over has literally been game changing for me. It has become a healthy part of my morning routine. I feel empowered to know of current topics without feeling the need to turn to swayed or discouraging platforms to remain aware of current events. I love that advice, prayers, and scripture are shared at the end of each update.

I used to avoid reading the news, and when I did, it was always difficult to sort fact from fiction. I appreciate the politically unbiased, Christ-centered, realistic email blast from the Pour Over. I feel informed and ready to pray about world events instead of giving into fear and anxiety. Thank you to the team at the Pour Over!!!

I started reading the Pour Over over 2 years ago after hearing Tara Leigh Cobbles mention it on the Bible Recap. I had recently signed off of social media and was needing a break from the constant scrolling of fake news and discouraging news. I have grown so much in being disciplined with how much news I consume and from where. Having the scripture after each main news story truly puts the current events into an eternal perspective and reminds me to look at things above and not on earthy things. God’s word gives hope and encouragement and seeing His word after a news story does just that. I have been convicted, humbled, encouraged and grateful after reading so many of the Pour Over’s emails. Thanks for encouraging others to look to Christ in this divisive world!

I appreciate the scripture following each story. While other newscasts increasingly ramp up the hype leaving me anxious and then try to ease my anxiety with a good news story, you guys give me enough of the new and then the best Good News.

I’ve been relying on TPO for nearly a year to give me important news without a left-leaning (or right-leaning for that matter) filter. When school starts this Fall I will add The Decaf as my upper elementary classroom’s current events content. I love the Christian Family perspective, and I trust TPO to be straightforward while keeping the content of Decaf student friendly.

The pour over has changed the way I see the news. The media has grown to be very corrupt and bias and so I stopped paying attention. What the pour over has done for me, is it has simplified things and the most important part, put a Christian perspective on the news and so some of the most devastating news that I’m seeing is refreshed by scripture and that is so life-changing and I’m so grateful for that!!

Before I discovered The Pour Over (and Decaf edition), I had virtually stopped reading news altogether. I was not able to handle the emotional drama of the political climate. But The Pour Over gave me the exact perspective I needed and reminded me that regardless of what happens today or tomorrow, God is always in control, and He will work all things for good. Thank you for that reminder! And thank you for the humor and light-hearted tone that is incorporated wherever possible. The Pour Over truly allowed me to reengage with current topics in a way that keeps me from getting too crazy. Thank you!

We’re so glad our journalist daughter referred us to TPO. I like to stay involved with things politically and pray often for our nation, but I was burning out and finding myself worrying., fretting about the future— I kept failing to remember the Lord is ultimately in charge and has a plan and has already won the victory. Your Bible verses and helps after articles is a good way to help me remember that. Thank you for doing what you do. Phil C from south carolina

Im a homeschooling mama of 7 so as yoi can imagine, my life is pretty busy. I love opening my email and getting to read The Pour Over to hear the important bits of news. I also share the news with my older kids as part of our learning from the day because I belive its important for them to be aware of the world they are growing up in. But I dont want all the junk from regular news media so The Pour Over is perfect for not only me but for my family. And of course they are always excited for the whipped cream at the end!

I used to watch the news, but I had to stop because everything is just so doom and gloom when you watch it on regular media television shows. I then always felt out of the loop and I didn’t like not knowing what was going on in the world, but I also felt like I was never getting correct or unbiased information. Then a friend of mine introduced me to the pour over and it has changed the way I view things in the world. Having an opportunity to turn everything towards scripture and prayer rather than frustration has been a wonderful stepping point in my relationship with Christ. I’m so thankful for the pour over staff for being willing to go into the trenches and bring out truth in a God honoring way!

The Pour Over has turned my focus from the chaos and craziness of this world, which brought anxiety, back to the promises in His Word which brings hope and peace. I like to know what is going on in our world, but above all else, I need to keep God’s sovereignty at the forefront no matter what. That is what the Pour Over does for me. I thank God for you!

I used to consider myself in the know about news. I was raised it was the responsible thing to do and couldn’t even allow myself to go to bed until after the 10 o’clock, local news! Way back in 2008, I was thrilled when Obama was elected President. I had not voted for him because I was a Republican, but I saw it as great progress for America to elect a black man… I had no idea how things would change so drastically afterward. At the time, we lived in Texas and were still raising our children, then ages 16 and nearly 12. Fast forward to 2016, the kids were both finished with school and Obama was about to be finished in office. We bought a toy store in Colorado and moved north into a whole different culture. Internet tv was starting to really take off, and besides that, local news wasn’t appealing to me up in Colorado. My husband watched quite a bit of Fox News, but I had been LONG over it myself… Obama’s two terms had ruined Fox News for me and I refused to even tolerate HIM watching it if I was home… I worked in the store 7 days a week, so he had plenty of time to get all he wanted while I was gone! Fast forward again to a couple of years ago… I don’t even remember how I found The Pour Over, but I was going on nearly a decade without any news at all other than maybe social media or an occasional rant from one of my friends/family members. It has been WONDERFUL to be able to wade back into the water again!! Thank you for providing an option I could live with!!!
The Pour Over is a wonderful alternative to most opinion driven news sources. The Bible verses at the end of each segment remind me that God is in control and that He will never abandon us.The world can be a bit scary, but God's truth stands in all circumstances! Have recommended The PourOverto many people!

As a pastor, I need to stay informed about the news, but I also need to stay rooted in a deeper truth. I've loved how TPO has helped me shepherd my people well through national and international events both big and small.

I feel much better reading the news from you. It’s not as dramatic, it’s factual. And then, regardless of what has happened, you’ll follow it with something about God and it is hopeful.

I appreciate that when there is difficult news to hear, that the TPO reminds us of God's ultimate truth. I also LOVE how the TPO community comes together to support solutions to some of the world's problems. It is a good testimony and a reminder that we can do something to help in the midst of bad news.

When I heard about The Pour Over, I was both intrigued and cautious. I was doubtful that I could actually feel less anxiety, fear, or anger after reading the news. But you know what? I have found that what TPO says is totally accurate. It really is unbiased and they really do keep Christ as the main focus. Being pointed back to Scripture, the Gospel, Jesus, and our eternal home at the end of each news article really helped keep my anxieties at bay and remind me that God is in control and He is faithful, and I can put all my hope eggs in His basket. I am so grateful for The Pour Over!

I’ve been getting the pour over for a couple of years now and I’ve really enjoyed getting a Biblically based newsletter that is unbiased and includes not just the doom and gloom of most world news but also something to brighten your day in the “Whipped Cream on Top”. I also enjoy the coffee terms used as headings throughout. I get one other newsletter but I always compare it to the Pour Over.

I know this might not be exactly what you are looking for but I was going through a very difficult time spiritually during covid and you guys helped pull me out of the dark. In one of your posts, you put a "what are we listening to" link and it was a sermon by Tim Keller called "Abraham and the torch." I had never heard of him or anything like that before. I listened and I wept. It was exactly what I needed and it literally changed the trajectory of my spiritual life. I'm so grateful for God's providence and I always tell people about this when I tell my story!

As someone who struggles to pay attention to things that are difficult for me I have found the pourover to be a perfect source of news for me! You get to the point and explain enough to help me stay engaged with this world. Politics in particular is not a topic I feel well versed in. I’ve come to feel more informed which I long for but previously didn’t have the tools to navigate. Your short snippets and witty writing help this ADHD girl get through an otherwise insurmountable task. Also the podcast is helpful as well and sometimes I understand more when listening then reading. And as a believer I appreciate bringing scripture into your writing. I find myself praying for the world more and longing for Jesus’ goodness to push back the darkness.

Before subscribing to The Pour Over, I completely avoided all news because there were too many conflicting messages and unsafe stories for my heart. With The Pour Over, I feel empowered to stay informed about important global topics while still being protected by the peace of Christ.

The Pour Over has helped me slow down and actually read the news, not just skim headlines and move on. With most other newsletters or articles, I often avoid them because I know they’ll either frustrate me, feel biased, or not even match what the headline promised. But with The Pour Over, I know it’s fair, trustworthy, and written through a Christian lens that helps me see current events with clarity and hope. I appreciate that it’s concise, to the point, and sent straight to my inbox. Nick Warren from Michigan

Prior to getting the Pour Over, I was burned out on traditional news sourced. While boasting unbiased news, it was obvious that the news was led by hitting numbers. Hitting numbers was always led by drama. Drama led to extremes and extreme ways of viewing current events. Clarity & moderation had become almost entirely absent. Enter The Pour Over. I was able to keep up with the times without bias. Truly without bias. Writing news in a way that says, "this groups says this & that group says something else," is so refreshing. I'm not sure how you hold back your opinions on which you think is right, but I appreciate that you do! The Pour Over is just enough news for the week while keeping Gospel truth front and center in the middle of it all. I recommend you guys all the time. Keep up the great work!

I wish I could remember how I found TPO so they could get some credit, but for now I’ll just thank God I did. I am an anxious person by nature, and news coverage did not help. That said, I’m also an intellect and like to stay current on world events. I felt like there was no balance. Until TPO entered the scene! I now feel that I am informed but not inundated. If a topic is intriguing, or I feel it needs more digging, I’ll look into that specific issue, rather than getting snippets on a news station in the middle of apocalyptic news coverage. I find I’m much more compassionate of those on the other side of the aisle from me, as well. Because I love TPO so much, I’ve also subscribed to Jason’s News Health and Mike’s Friday Update, both of which have enriched my news consuming life. I shout about TPO from the rooftops! (Although, I still haven’t earned that darn t-shirt from referrals because too many of my friends are already subscribed. Shameless plug? Maybe). Thank you for all you do for the Kingdom!

The biggest impact the TPO has given me, is the smile I get upon the hope and promises of our Dear Lord from the scriptures you quote. Otherwise, the constant exposure to the darkness from the worldly news could leave one hopeless. Thankyou for your bringing balance. Without which, it would be difficult to walk in this crazy, lopsided world! Christ is the only reason I am able to navigate through all this mire, one step at a time!!

As I took a break from social media for my own mental wellbeing, having The Pour Over has helped me receive the necessary world news without prejudice. And best of all, it’s Christ-centered. I look forward to checking my email!

I’m so excited that I found The Pour Over to keep me up-to-date and in the loop to connect with my youngest daughter… It’s just she and I because my husband passed away eight years ago,and she’s entering into her third year at Michigan State University going to medical school afterward. She’s a wonderfully competent student excelling in the sciences, so I feel like I need to keep up on things and keep a good perspective of our world events and The Pour Over is certainly is a very great help!😇

This is what I'd shared on Social Media and with co-workers: (feel free to use whatever portion you'd like). Thank you very much for this resource. Hello all. I have admittedly avoided the news for years and years as I was so burned out on negative content. With my former role in the medical home health world, I was so saddened at how many people sit in their homes, curtains closed, consuming news on television all day long. I've often witnessed a negative impact and attitude in individuals who over-consume news whether on tv or online. I also feel that often times the one delivering the news has the ability to somewhat shift the message and its influence however they so choose. Recently a friend told me about a news source called the Pour Over. Being in the role I am now as a pastor, I figured it best to keep up on the top news stories so I checked the Pour Over out. I've been very pleased with it. There is an email option and a Podcast option. Neither typically take any more than 5-10 minutes and they come out 3 days a week (M,W,F). In the words of the team at the Pour Over, they present themselves as your politically neutral, Christian news source. A way to keep up on the headlines without all the anxiety and political noise and division that the news often delivers. Just the facts. There is even a section on the website called Decaf where you can sign up for a separate email which picks a top news story with talking points in a family friendly format to talk over with kids. I realize this may not be for everyone but I’ve found it very worthwhile and helpful so thought I’d share. If interested, check out the link to sign up and check it out for yourself and feel free to pass it on:

Before the Pour Over I did not have anything to do with the news. I had settled to burying my head in the preverbal sand and wait for Jesus to come again. However, when i read the Pour Over with scripture quotes, insightful inspiration and hope- things changed. Yes, there is still tragedy and loss, uncertainty and confusion, but i am reminded i can pray and put my hope in an everlasting King. With a different outlook the Pour Over has reminded me who i belong to and where i can find strength. To God be all glory.

I used to listen to a news podcast on my way to work every day. My level of fear and anxiety would reflect the day's news. Now, I listen to worship music or sermons on my way to work instead. I read the Pour Over loaded with scripture and my fear has dramatically decreased. After every story, I am reminded to trust the God who made me! I am so thankful!

I am loving the quick news articles with links to information that allows me to draw focus on my own feelings towards an event. Coupled with the redirection towards God's word and authority is helping me actually stay updated without so much fear and sadness crippling the rest of my day or week! I've recommended The Pour Over to a handful of friends and family.

The Pour Over has helped me in so many ways. I no longer avoid painful news stories because TPO helps me put it in context with God’s plan. I know this world is not my home and I will have trouble. TPO presents factual reporting and also reminds me how God will rectify all wrongs. Thank you! Also I love the bits of comical pictures/stories that make me smile and laugh! Lastly, I love the products you highlight.

The two most significant ways The Pour Over has impacted me are: 1. It is much easier to absorb "bad" news when it is presented in context of a sovereign God, than when it is presented each night as if the world as we know it is coming to an end, as it seems network nightly news takes delight in giving the audience a heart-racing,adrenaline rush. Thank you! 2. I love the humor y'all inject into your telling of the news, and the Scripture you include that puts things into perspective. Also, you give more details. Thank You!

I especially like the many scripture references that you cite for us to consider when you report news stories! You have a firm grasp on the meaning and application of Bible passages and how we can glorify our Great God, Savior, Creator and just Judge. You truly give a refreshing view of the attitude we should have in prayer for those around us in local and world news! Thank you for your efforts to help us maintain a proper perspective toward God's Word and to mankind!
