1. I have been a Christian my whole life. I grew up in church and was raised by amazing parents who taught me who Christ is and I was very comfortable within the Christian lifestyle. Growing up, I was taught scripture, went to church, and did all the “right” things. But something I’ve always struggled with was consistency when it comes to having my quiet time. 2. This year one of my friends suggested this app and all I could think was “greaaaat ANOTHER app…” but man was I wrong! I really didn’t know where to start, so I started with Journey 7 - Promises Kept. And I cannot begin to say how much I have grown! Starting in Matthew I was like “oh yeah I got this.” Then I saw I’d be in Deuteronomy and I was not having that! But the Holy Spirit challenged me and WOW God spoke to me so clearly in that part of scripture. I was challenged and encouraged to continue on. This season of life within my serving ministry has also been hard - with work, life and friends - serving had become like a chore. Then digging deeper in 2 Corinthians had really helped me see that it is not about what I can do for the Kingdom, but what God can do through my weaknesses. 3. I share this app often when I meet someone and they are going through the same challenges. Challeneges like “I’m new to the faith and where do I start” or even “I’m just struggling to make God a consistent part of my life.” My go to explanation of this app is: “I like how it’s honest heartfelt commentary on scripture that you may or may not know. But my favorite part is that it always pushes me back to God’s Word. ‘Faith comes from hearing and hearing through the Word.’” In this day and age, I feel like we can easily become lazy Christians. We listen to a message on a Sunday and then take what a preacher said as truth without challenging it with the true truth. Digging deeper in God’s word. But I love how Through The Word does that automatically. You finish listening to a commentary and then *BAM* here’s the scripture 🔥! I have so much more to say about this - but I do want to finish with saying thank you! Thank you to your team for being obedient and listening to the call on your life. You never know what’s on the other side of your obedience. So keep going. What you’re doing is not in vain. Through your obedience, God is using you as a vessel to change the world. TTW has been our habit for the past 2092 days! Years ago, I discovered TTW on a plan through the Bible app. It was Kris Langham, and I LOVED the way he explained the chapter in just 10 minutes - totally relevant, meaningful and even funny at times! I shared TTW with my best friend who lives 5 hours away in a different state. Every morning, we listen to the same chapter, journal, and then send a snap of our journal reflection. Since then we have almost made our way through the entire Bible! Previously daunting books like Revelation and many from the OT, we now consider fascinating and relevant! It has been the source of so much meaningful discussion, reflection and connection between us! Thank you TTW!

TTW has been such a blessing to my life. I work night shift that includes every other weekend, so I am not able to make it to church as much as I would like. TTW fills that gap with excellent plans by excellent teachers. I have learned so much from these plans. My goal is to go through the entire Bible, and I recently finished the Jeremiah plan by Sandy Adams. I have listened to several of Adams’ plans so far, and he has become one of my favorite teachers. This Jeremiah plan was great in that I could see God’s promises at work. It’s great to see historical examples provided by Sandy that proves the word of God is true and can be proven by historical evidence. This just further strengthens my faith in God, and I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with TTW!

My sister, Tina and I embarked on this journey together and made it through! Not only did it strengthen our relationships with Jesus, but our relationship as well. Walking alongside another believer, even though we’re miles apart was a blessing I didn’t expect but am SO grateful for. God truly cares about every single one of us and every little thing that we care about. Thank you, TTW for being an instrument for God’s word! Looking forward to what’s next!

Dear Pastor Kris & Ministry Team: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! TTW plans have given me so much insight into understanding the Books of the Bible exponentially over the last several years! In four more days, I'll complete the NT in 1 YR plan which has been AH-MAZING! I became a Christian seven years ago, and TTW gave me the knowledge and confidence to not only start a faith-based FB Group with over 1,700 members, but to also publish a Bible Reading Plan & Journal on "Healing"... to God be the Glory! I'm very excited about the new "share" feature and have invited my group's members to join me in Genesis beginning on January 1st! TTW's easy-to-use and understand audio plans have changed the trajectory of my faith walk and I'm excited to see where it will continue to take me (and the members of my group!) in 2024 and beyond! TTW has helped me understand what I'm reading. It's turned the words into more than just words. It's brought them alive. The Restoration plan really touched me. My family is going through a difficult season, a storm. Learning about God's true plans for marriage helped stand tall, trust God, and wait for Him to do His work. I strengthened my hope for restoration. I have shared TTW with friends, family, and church members; mostly through conversations, but also through personal invite and social media.

This year has been the hardest of my life. I chose the read through the New Testament plan. Through the teaching and scripture passages, my faith has been strengthened. Over and over I have been reminded of God’s love, goodness, and faithfulness. While life is hard we have hope and nothing can touch that. Thank you for putting this app together and being willing to share it for free. I pray God’s blessings over you and this ministry and that you all stay faithful to HIM.

It’s not just the plans but the entire app has touched my life. I like the introduction and explanation to each chapter prior to going into the Bible scriptures. I can visualize what is transpiring which deepens my understanding of the messages in each book of the Bible. This concept is truly a help for me to hear the Word no matter what I am doing. I just finished the New Teatament in a year plan and feel that I know my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ better than ever before. I love how they take a chapter at a time and dive into it. There are days when a certain part really hit home for me and I would share it with anyone that came to my mind that I felt needed it like I did. I feel God’s presence daily now and I have learned when I ran hearing from him.

TTW has helped me to be consistent with my daily devotions. The content is amazing. Today I finished the NT in a year plan. I have gotten closer to my Lord and Savior by being in the Word everyday. Thank you One last thing, please consider donating to TTW.

I started the New Testament in a year as it is my son’s first year in high school. I have written notes throughout the Bible that I bought specifically for this. I plan to continue to listen to guides and journeys until he graduates and I will give him this Bible as a graduation present with notes and prayers written throughout his Bible. Historically, the study of Genesis has laid out God’s plan. It helps me more clearly see what God is doing in the world, and more importantly in my life as His child. Specifically Genesis has taught me about God’s forgiveness in my life, and how I need to forgive myself. Because when He saved me He covered my sin on the cross through Jesus life, death, and resurrection. I also learned in spite of all the characters, in Genesis, faults and failures God used their lives to fulfill His plan which help me to see that in spite of all my faults and failures God is using it to fulfill His purpose in my life. To know the Creator of all things, the Sovereign God who is in control of all things, cares about my life and His purpose in it is both humbling, and exciting! I’ve shared TTW mainly through word of mouth. I pray that God’s blessing will be greatly on you always. You’re making a difference not just in lives, but in the relationship between God and His children.

Can’t believe it has been a year! Thank you so much for this app and in particular this plan. It became a treasured part of a new morning routine. Often sitting in the dark with a coffee and my ttw app breathing in His creation and the word. I loved the context it provided to stick with it and see and understand the entire New Testament (not just a verse or book at a time). I also loved the discipline my commitment to the plan provided. I took the experience everywhere - work trips, travel, ski trips you name it I made space for the Word which was new for me. And I loved the consistency it provided in my life through a tumultuous year that was tough at work and where I lost my job and yet this plan helped me stay focused on the big picture, stay calm and keep my faith in God. And he has delivered as we close out the year. Thanks to all the TTW teachers - you have a gift for making the Word approachable informative and a joy to explore. TTW is an amazing project. You all have helped me to get into a beautiful habit. Thank you. There was a time when I would not read much of anything because one day I looked at my headboard and next to my Bible was a best selling novel. I went to pick up the novel and was convicted. How can I pick this book up if I’m not even willing to pick up my Bible? So I didn’t pick up any reading material for several years! Sad but true. Fast forward-I meet and marry my husband. We would argue over Christ, church and the Bible and I know in my heart that I need to find the answers to his questions of “ how I know” but I don’t know. Most of all, I need to know because I’m not sure where to find the right answers for myself but I know I need Christ. Eventually we started going to an amazing church and they introduced us to you version (another amazing app). This is where I found TTW. This is also where we started to grow again in Christ. I have shared this with my small groups, brothers, sister, mom, strangers in the airport and others that I meet along the way. I feel like my family has grown exponentially and I can not express my love and gratitude enough. You all are able to express and explain Gods word in a beautiful manner that reaches me and countless others. May you all continue to be the hands and feet of our Mighty God.

I discovered TTW when I was searching for Bible Prophecy plans on the YouVersion Bible App back in 2016. Your study on Revelation was one of the best studies on the complex book that I’ve ever used — and I’ve done many. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to understand Bible Prophecy. I was so impressed that I downloaded your app and have been a faithful user ever since. I truly enjoyed the New Testament in a Year plan. I’m starting a plan on YouVersion to go through the Bible Chronologically. I plan on using TTW book by book along with the YouVersion plan. You should do a chronological series for the OT in a year. That’ll be a challenge! Thank you for your hard work on the app. I’m recommending it to my new Bible study group.

I just finished Habbakuk. Powerful! Relevant for TODAY! Encouragement to wait for the vision though it tarries! Reminder to praise and keep my focus on the ONE who is still trustworthy even though it feels like the world is getting worse each day!!!

My husband and I did this plan this year. We have learned so much. It helped us study the word every day. We loved the book of Revelation. We were so excited to complete this plan together. Thank you all for the time you took to do each book and chapter. Personally when I use to read the Bible it sometimes was confusing or I didn't understand what somethings meant. Going through each chapter with you all helped me understand what I was reading. I teach Children's church and children's Wednesday night class. This helped so much. You all are a blessing. I started the 19 Journeys over a year ago, as a way to get a full ingestion of the entire Bible. I am closing out Journey 10 this week. I like the fact that you can stick to a plan, or accelerate a Journey if you decide. I don't remember everything I am reading, but this process made me realize that this is a lifetime pursuit. And I love the teachers, who keep every step engaging, and remove the intimidation factor. Anyone can start a Bible habit. Thank you TTW!

I struggle with depression and every once in awhile suicidal thoughts cross my mind. The verse I have learned to revisit every time that happens is Jeremiah 29:11, and that reminder from God that He has plans for me always seems to snap me out of those toxic thought ppatterns. Because of the plan about the book of Jeremiah I have a better understanding of the whole story that surrounds that verse.

I love what this TTW app is doing to me. I have been greatly encouraged to read the Bible more than before.i have the goal of reading through the whole Bible this year from Gensis to Revelation. I am sharing this with all my close friends to join.

I have been walking through the Journey Series for 3 years now.. just completing Journey 13. It has been enlightening and helped me learn more about my own beliefs and where they align and don't align with God. I appreciate the many teachers whom you have gathered as part of your efforts to share God's message of Hope and Salvation, each brings a unique perspective and allows for multiple views /interpretations that remind me to always lean in to God if I am confused or don't concur with the view offered. Ultimately He is the one whom holds the answers to the riddles of prophecy and how it will all play out. We all know the end of the story and seek to reach eternity in heaven (at least, I believe those whom are diving in one chapter at a time are in agreement with that). Still, until Christ returns and the new heaven and earth are revealed, we have a mission to complete. Each of us are directed differently by the Creator, and all are part of the plan. How we choose to live it out, help each other along the way, be good stewards of our gifts, talents and caretakers of the earth and our charges, is the key. Will we listen to God, or try to do it selfishly and continue the spin into chaos that surrounds us in all parts of the world. Thank you Kris and company for all you do. I am doing the journeys as an individual but am now doing various books with others. Through The Word is a part of my daily life and continues to make my life better as I walk this journey of life and do my part in the great commission as God leads. Agape'

This journey has been absolutely beautiful! I’ve read Exodus before, however reading and studying with Kris and Johnathan opened up new ways of seeing Scripture. God used them to reveal and connect Christ to me throughout the book of Exodus. It was a lovely journey and I look forward to Leviticus!

The book of Mark has shown the importance of faith and understanding and how signs and wonders are pointers and not actually the destination,The Gospel is,so far it's amazingly shining light on my spiritual journey for this year,I needed to study 10chapters of bible daily and with this App I'm able to,glory to God,thanks TTW

I love hearing Kris Langham teach the books of the bible! He makes it easy to understand and usually adds something humorous or interesting relating to his own personal experiences. He certainly is a gifted teacher. I've been a Christian for a long time now and am always looking for extra biblical teachings to help me along my path "through the word". I just finished Revelation with pastor Kris, so I have a message for him. "My husband and I will meet you on the 1st Thursday at the tree of life at 2:00!"

Listened to the entire Holy Week journey in one day. As an elder of a local church, I was looking for a possible Easter study that might be used as part of an upcoming sermon series on the Crucification and Resurrection. This is quite possibly the best teaching I have ever heard!

My first group on the, is there a way to text as opposed to just recording ? So glad it instantly connected this group of mothers at my church!

I have just completed the Gospel of Luke followed by Ruth. Thank you Kris, for allowing me to hear afresh the voice of my Saviour and Redeemer. My heart has been softened and greatly encouraged. God bless you all richly!

Learning about job helps understand that God is good even I think my life is going bad. That should seek his strength to endure a difficult life rather than an easy one

The book of Hosea helped me to understand how to implement forgiveness correctly. In Chapter 3, Hosea forgives Gomer, but sits her "apart" from him until he is assured she has truly repented and is commited to him alone. Just as God is doing now, and one day soon, with Israel. It's a great lesson in the wisdom of true love.

The teaching gives me context and perspective. I look forward to hearing from/learning from pastors. Ezra’s leadership and faith moves and inspires me. Moving on to Nehemiah.

This has been a wonderful journey learning and studying God’s word. Some of the books I did together with my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed and grew from that. It drew us closer to God and to each other. I felt that I got a revelation of who Jesus is- the awesome splendour of His majesty- and firsthand experienced His life transforming power. Needless to say, I’ve been encouraging as many people as I can to experience Through The Word and plan to invite some young men from my church to join me in a bible plan. Thanks so much team. Best bible app I have had. Have read acts so far and now going through John. Each days reading is only about 10 minutes which makes it really accessible. I'm interested in the whole Bible journeys which I may check out this year.

I have been using TTW for 5 years now. I discovered it on YouVersion. I am constantly reading through the Bible using different plans I find on line or in books. So at some point in the summer of 2023 I decided to go through the whole Bible using TTW for every chapter. I love the Old Testament especially. I loving reading Isaiah in the month of December. I loved visiting with Sandy, thank him for his insight. Today I just finished Esther all I can say wow! I have read it so many times and heard many sermons but never have I understood the bigger picture of the narrative until now. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and insight. I love how much the Bible is like a spiderweb perhaps Ukrainian people have it right when the add a spider to their Christmas tree. Again thank you so much. I tell friends about TTW . I share what I’m reading with my family. I show the app to the kids at my youth group.

Thanks for helping understand each chapter as you give clarity by understanding the people the chapter is being written to. Their world was very different than ours and you bring the teaching more clarity as we understand that God's word is for us all to understand.

Hello Through the Word, thank you SO MUCH for the ministry you provide to those of us seeking to learn more about the Bible and its important message for all of us. I have recently retired, and am just now beginning to seriously study the Word. I'm an engineer, so I'm used to calculating and studying things, but I felt a little lost in front of the Bible, quite often not really understanding what was written, and at a loss for how to learn more about it. One of the men in the 'Kingdom Men's Group' that I recently joined recommended your Through the Word App and the audio guides. I checked out several, and was immediately hooked! Start a Habit: so, in 2023 I wanted to follow a plan to read the Bible in a year (only the second time for me at age 61) along with my wife. She uses a reading plan from the NLT Bible in our church which has OT, NT, Psalm & Proverb readings every day. So I joined the same plan - BUT added the TTW Audio Guide for each chapeter as I read along, every day for the past year. I was learning so much more with this approach than I did when just reading the word on my own, that I grabbed a journal and began taking notes as I went. I made it through the whole Bible this past year, and found myself excited to see what the Audio Guide had to say each day, and who the teacher would be. Share a Habit: I was so excited about what a difference this experience made for me that I shared it in our Kingdom Men's group. Timing was coincident with your launch of the TTW Store, so I ordered up 18 journals, and gave one to each member of our mens group, and encouraged them to keep a journal with their Bible study this year, if they do not already have that practice, and use the TTW audio guides if they want to get a little bit more out of it. The 1st study I listened to was Luke. That was a couple years ago and I found it through the Bible app. I enjoyed it so much, I told my husband to try a study... he is now a huge 'fan'/ regular listener... he went on to use your Revelation study to guide him in co-leading a revelation study with some of his friends in 2020. Some time ago, I decided to listen with my kids (I believe it was when I was going through a journey with my husband and a friend and I actually enjoyed Leviticus and Numbers!). So, now my kids and I listen to a chapter every day together over breakfast. It's all kinds of great! We started in Genesis and just finished Ezra... on to Nehemiah! I have to admit, if we ran into Kris or Payton somewhere, we'd be more 'starstruck' than if we ran into a movie star! We appreciate your team!

The book of Revelation can be confusing, but reading it on TTW can be so revealing, its revelations anyway. It’s been exciting getting to know what it’s all about and I’m happy I chose Revelation to be my first book this year, now I know a bit of symbolism and how it refrences Daniel and other books.

Through The Word has helped me understand the context and imagery behind stories and lessons in the Bible. The New Testament in A Year Plan helped me grow in my love for and knowledge of Jesus Christ. I just started TTW. I have been looking for a Bible app that explains the word and I have. I feel this Bible App will help me grow spiritually. I attached my testimony about where I was and now where I am through Jesus Christ. I work with Global Teen challenge here in Ensenada Mexico. God has found purpose for me. My duties will be as co-facilitator through Global Teen challenge ministry. We work with men and women with life controlling problems that are anything that masters our lives and blocks out our spiritual growth. My focus will be with men only. I'm excited about serving God. Have a blessed day. My name is Louie Cortez. This story starts at the age of 8 years old. I remember when everything turned upside down in my young life. I found out that my grandparents weren’t my parents and my father abandoned my family so my sister, and I were sent to live with our grandparents. I remember asking my biological mother…”are you my mother?” and “why don’t we live with you and your new family?” Her answer did not make sense to me. It was at this time that anger entered my life. I was angry at God, asking…”why did this happen to me?” and I was also angry at my mother. I started suffering from abandonment issues, low self-esteem, co-dependency, rejection and felt I wasn’t worthy of love. My heart was filled with resentment and bitterness, I was broken hearted and felt hopeless. At that young age, Satan had his claws in me and I turned to drugs and alcohol in order to deaden the pain. I began acting out in rebellion so as to receive attention since it was better than no attention. My family told me I was going to either end up in jail or dead if I continued on this path. I heard this over and over, and eventually, I believed in what they were saying about me and my life. During my high school years, I used drugs and abuse alcohol, and I also sold drugs. I got in trouble with the law, however, I was never punished since I was a juvenile. When I turned 18, I got arrested for a DUI and went to jail. My family bailed me out but if I got in trouble again, they threatened to leave me in jail. My grandparents then sent me to be with my aunt and uncle for the summer and my anger worsen. I was jealous of my cousins because they were able to live with their mother and father. I wanted parents so desperately to fill this emptiness within me. I didn’t know how to love or what love was like. When I appeared in court, the judge gave me a way out of a jail sentence by joining the armed forces. I enlisted in the navy and my abuse with alcohol and drugs continued. I got married to the mother of my 2 daughters, though, since I didn’t know how to love, she divorced me 7 years later. I was a great provider, bought them a nice home, but my family needed more. I remarried, and the marriage was all about sex and drugs and my second wife disapproved of my daughters from my previous marriage. This marriage ended in divorce 10 years later. I still was able to maintain a good job, had all the material things I wanted but felt empty and at times, suicidal. It was only when I began to struggle in my job as a supervisor that I sought help. I took medical leave, met with a psychologist who prescribed anti-depressants. In 2016, I retired at 58 and decided to move to Ensenada in 2017 and that was when my addictions escalated to daily use and I had multiple sex partners. I started to distant myself from my daughters who were witnessing my downward spiral. They confronted me with my problem, I refused to believe them and got angry when my daughters began to detach themselves from my life. On August 16th, 2019, I received a call from my ex-girlfriend that a friend of mine was dying. When I to drove to the hospital in San Diego, I was high on Methamphetamine and took Xanax to bring me down. When I drove home to Ensenada, all I could think of was my next high. I fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a truck carry propane gas. When I recovered, the driver asked if I was drinking, I replied no and paid him off to not report the incident. When I woke the next day, I contacted my daughters and asked for help…I had hit rock bottom. During my daughters’ visit, we ended up sharing and I said I was tired of this stronghold of addiction. I apologized for not being a good father and grandfather, for failing them emotionally. My daughters poured out their hearts to me and said if I didn’t go to a rehabilitation center, they would no longer see me, nor would I be able to see my grandchildren. In October 2019, I entered a Christian rehabilitation center called Victory Outreach. At first, I didn’t feel I belonged there but after much prayer and study of God’s word, I began to establish friendships with the other brothers in the center. I realized God put me there to teach me humility and through His love and grace, I began to feel a change. The “before” picture is of me in the hospital after rolling my truck. Witnesses say I rolled 5 times and when they pulled me out, they thought I was dead. It was a miracle that I survived. I have since dealt with heart failure, pneumonia, heart surgery yet God was faithful and guided me through every “bump in the road”. It has been 4 years since this last accident and 4 years sober…you see God had plans for me. Amen to that!!

At this point having only been about a week in through the new testament, I like the explanation that comes with each chapter which clarifies what I'm going to hear. I have long time liked listening to God's word but more often than not, the understanding was not there. Only time will tell, because the ultimate goal for me is to draw closer to God. Maybe I'm missing something I don't know I'm reading through the Bible in a year with the world outreach Church is there a way to set up the app so that it will read the book we are reading currently to just keep on reading that book whether it be Matthew Mark Luke John Zachariah Genesis whatever?

A very good revelation about how God works through his people. My biblical knowledge is increasing exponentially since I started listening to TTW. I have been using some of the examples in the bible in my conversations with friends.

This definitely help me understand the grace we have received from GOD so many opinions out there about law and Jesus! This plan made me understand what Jesus truly did for us! Thank you

I first heard of Pastor Kris on the YouVersión app then quickly downloaded Through the Word. I have started an Old Testament reading plan this year, and am supplementing my reading with the TTW audio teaching from each chapter. I absolutely love it! Thank you for all the work you do to grow us in our knowledge of God’s Word.

To the word has really blessed my heart. I have been able to drive and listen, clean and listen, and sometimes you sit down and follow through and journal. I have shared this plan with my sisters who have been actually listening to through the work. I love the information The annotation and the pre discussion prior to reading the Bible. I love through the word and it truly has blessed my journey in the Lord.

I started reading the Bible from front to back and chronologically when Covid started. I hate to admit that this was the first time reading it. My neighbor invited me to give TTW a try. There are 4 of us doing this journey together!! Finally the Bible is making more sense to me. You explain and reference back to the Old Testament to show how it predicts Jesus’s coming!! I try to tell everyone about this app!! It has truly enriched my walk with God and now we have found an expository church, which is an answer to my husband and my prayers. I found TTW from YouVersion. I decided to start in the beginning at Genesis. I have never understood Genesis as I do now. Thank you TTW especially, pastor Chris...🙏

The one thing that I needed to hear was God forgives me, it’s not my place it’s Gods, I needed to hear that and I read it daily, I’ve never been able to forgive myself but God can. I also needed help to understand what I was reading, TTW has done just that. Everything so far gives me understanding along with Gods help. I’m grateful more then I can say about your reading and teaching of the Bible. Also surprised you’re in Calif. talking freely.

I've read the whole Bible 8 times. And through the Word has helped me get a fresh, biblical perspective. Especially with Revelations. I've stayed away from that book for years bc I always end up panicked and confused. But, with reading the book alongside TTW, I had no fear, stress and saw the beauty of Revelations. I will not shy away from the book ever again

The journey through the book of Luke amongst the synoptic gospels,is a step deeper into solidifying my understanding about the gospel of Jesus,I know there's more and I'm in for a journey this year 2024.

Although “raised in the church”, I truly put my trust and hope in Christ Jesus at the age of 53, 12 years ago. Better late than never! Over my life I have read the Bible many times, but never before has it grabbed me with such conviction and clarity. Thank you for sharing your gifts, Pastor Kris.
