If you're not regularly asking your customers for reviews and testimonials, you're missing out on a valuable opportunity to build social proof for your business. Luckily, it's easy to get started. In this blog post, we'll give you fifteen email templates that you can use to ask your customers for a review or testimonial. Just copy, paste, and fill in the blanks with your own information.
Before we get started, there are a few things to keep in mind when asking for customer reviews and testimonials.
First, make sure that you only reach out to customers who had a positive experience with your product or service. There's no sense in asking for a review from someone who wasn't happy with what they received—it will only result in an angry customer and a negative review. If you have a course, you can contact students that completed the course.
Second, be specific in what you're asking for. Don't just say "can I get a testimonial?" or "would you be willing to write a review?" Instead, say something like "would you be willing to record a quick video testimonial about your experience working with me?" or "would you be willing to write a review of my ebook on Amazon?". By being specific, you'll increase the likelihood that the customer will agree to write the review or record the testimonial.
And finally, make it easy for them by providing links to where they can leave the review or record the testimonial. For example, if you want them to leave a review on Amazon, send them a link directly to your book's Amazon page. If you want them to record a video testimonial for your Wall of Love, send them a link to your Testimonial.to page. The easier you make it for them, the more likely they are to actually do it.
Okay, let's get started!
To help you get some inspiration, here are 10 Subject Lines you could use when requesting a Testimonial:
- We would love to hear your thoughts!
- Thank you for being a loyal customer!
- Would you mind giving us your honest opinion?
- Can we brag about you? (Testimonial request)
- Your opinion = $$$ (paid survey inside)
- Your honest feedback would mean the world to us
- Your review <> Our Website
- Get featured in our Wall of Love :)
- We'd love to hear your feedback!
- Can we brag about you for a sec?
Now check out these email templates that will make it easy for you to gather feedback from your customers. You can use these templates to request a review on popular review sites like Yelp or Google, or to ask for a testimonial that you can add to your website or marketing materials.
