GED Testing Service is on a mission to empower people through education.
They are the official online resource to prepare for and earn your high school equivalency diploma - a milestone that separates many people from their best life.
But how can they impact as many people as possible if not through great marketing?
In this testimonial spotlight, Victoria Velez, the Director of Marketing at GED, will discuss their experience using Testimonial for their ongoing marketing efforts and special events.
She will also dive into the importance of using social proof and customer testimonials to reach more people ready to benefit from your offer.

Who are you, and what is GED?

I’m Victoria Velez, Director of Marketing at GED Testing Service (GED).
“GED” stands for General Educational Development Test and acts as a series of 4 subject tests that students take to indicate whether or not they have a high school level of education.
GED has helped tens of millions of students achieve their high school equivalency diploma and develop skills that lead to higher education and career growth. We strive to empower all students to improve their lives through education.

How is your company using Testimonial?

GED Testing Service puts on an event each year in May called “Grad Day” (previously also “Grad Week”).
During this event, we celebrate all the students who achieved their GED credentials throughout the year and encourage current and prospective students to work towards passing their GED exam.

While we cannot host an in-person ceremony for our hundreds of thousands of graduates each year, we still want to recognize each graduate’s accomplishment to the extent that it is possible.
As such, this year, we worked with Testimonial.to to create the Grad Day Wall of Love.
Not only did the Wall of Love act as a “digital yearbook” for this year’s GED class, but graduates and their loved ones could contribute personalized shout-outs, post-graduation pictures, and videos, share study tips, or announce their plans for the future.

How was your experience creating and integrating Testimonial?

Creating the Wall of Love was a pretty seamless process.
Many graduates self-submitted videos in the months leading up to Grad Day, and we were able to organize them through Testimonial.to.
Testimonial.to provided the Wall of Love web code, and our web team easily embedded it on our website, GED.com.
Then adding the submissions to the Wall of Love was very simple.
Damon and his team were very helpful with any questions we had and even made adjustments to the online tools so that we could modify the Wall of Love submission form to suit our purposes.

How does video help your business connect with your audience?

Overall, the Wall of Love allowed us to personally recognize GED graduates, which facilitated a stronger online community and allowed graduates a more fulfilled experience with GED.
We intend to create a new Wall of Love annually to recognize each new year of GED graduates, and may even continue to promote submissions on a rolling basis to make the “digital yearbook” more dynamic.
