Weintek Love in the Wild
I've been using them for quite some time. The graphics are pretty good. The drivers are the big plus. Modbus is straight forward for CoDeSys (Wago & stuff). They also offer their own CoDeSys I/O and such (you need to pick the right unit for it though). I even used them for some old SLC replacements serial & Ethernet, beats PV!! And yes, Maple has a great support team if you need it. Weintek as well as Maple have their own YouTube channels. You'll find pretty much everything on there as far as setting up a unit.

I’ve had very good experiences with Weintek, must just be what you’re used to. From the budget HMI perspective I (personally) have yet to use something better. Their software is really robust and easy to use, multiple times a week they push updates to it fixing bugs and adding new features, I’ve never experienced support like that from Mitsubishi or Rockwell.

Service?
Yeah, they do it on another level too.
So the pretty Weintek screen I posted earlier made it all the way to Alabama without the little green terminal block in it because I do stupid stuff sometimes...
Guys, at 4pm Central, I reached out to Keith Moyer for a lifeline, and he responded in minutes and dropped everything he was doing to overnight me that little terminal block.
There is service, and then their is absolutely being a life saver for your client.
This machine has to run Monday, and obviously it wouldn't run without an HMI.
This is why I champion the product, and the company. Simple as that.

I've been enjoying getting familiar with Weintek USA, Inc. Easy Builder Pro HMI software. This is just about finished with design and simulating the sequencer code (customer logo redacted in the top left).
Below is the HMI for an inspection system with a robot to sort good/bad parts after inspection. I also wrote all the PLC code for this and did the electrical design. Can't wait to see it all in action.
Creating what most of us would refer to as parameterized popups in Easy Builder Pro is quite different from what I'm used to with other platforms. After a short call with tech support to explain what I was after, we reached a solution.
For automation systems with a limited budget, Weintek is quite a value compared to other platforms. In addition to the hardware cost being very competitive, the software is free to download, free to use, and tech support is free. No extra costs for your controls techs to view/troubleshoot code.
Not to mention these units can also run Codesys for PLC programming!
If you are in need of a more budget friendly solution to your automation problems, let's talk!

One thing I want to do with my business is get more familiar with cost friendly platforms for your automation solutions.
Hey if you want (won't mention names), I've programmed more of those than anything else over my career and I'm happy to do it more. However, not every automation project has the budget, or the justification, for those costs.
Over the years I've seen several automation projects die at the budgetary discussion phase because of the cost of hardware and software.
I want to be able to offer solutions that fit those budgets and Weintek USA, Inc. is a great solution for that.
Thanks Brendon Schultz for great tech support when I had questions along the learning curve. Especially the parameterized popups!

The cMT series is what I’ve been using for years. Very powerful devices! And… FREE SOFTWARE! Not to mention wientek has created YouTube videos on how to use their devices in tons of different applications. So that’s support at your fingertips!

My first experience with Weintek HMI's was with exactly Maple Systems and Steven Engineering ~15 years ago. There was an older gentleman at STEVEN that walked me through the process of migrating a Mitsubishi HMI to the Weintek HMI5070TH and even helped me write some complex macros. That level of support hooked me on Weintek's HMI's ever since, where now we're using the advanced networking features of the cMT line as an edge device to connect to our cloud servers for near-real-time data logging, analysis & visualization.
So getting back to your question, I prefer contacting the manufacturer directly, or a distributor that is highly technical. In this case, both Steven and Maple are very capable sources of support. Sure, I could spend a few hours researching myself, but you just can't beat years of experience and knowledge to kick-start your path. I find that the newer grads have a strong resistance to using this channel, so I let them struggle a bit on their own, then suggest this approach. Manufacturers spend a lot of resources training and grooming their techs, so why not take advantage of them?

I’ve used Weintek products since 2009, and have always been impressed with the quality and reliability of their products and software. As a distributor, Weintek USA has always provided excellent support both pre and post sale, and everyone I’ve dealt with there has always been very friendly, very professional and very knowledgeable. They've more than earned my 5 stars!

Agreed: High quality reliable products at great prices, but equally important is GREAT support, especially with those obscure "head-scratcher" issues that come up occasionally in complex projects. I'm sticking with Weintek!
