Weintek Love in the Wild

The Weintek HMI/Scada units are awesome. The Weintek units out of the box out perform and out "Feature" all others. The EBPro software is free. SQL, OPC-UA, MQTT are built in with Internal scripting, and JavaScript. The HMIs can be linked to each other to allow updates as well as programmatic recipe/SQL/DB updates across all units on the network. Plus Weintek has moved on from the 1980's graphic images everyone else is using. There is much, much, more. Give them a try you will be happy you did.

I really like Weintek's products, cost benefit, high technology and secrets that I have unraveled that not even the tutorials explain that it is possible. CMT Line: Remote Access, Web Page, with native MQTT talking directly to AWS, AZURE, serves as supervisory. G01 this gateway is fantastic: it serves for any integrated modbus server PLC, native MQTT and OPC UA with 15 thousand tags without licensing, very easy integration with SCADA, talks with SQL server database, and My SQL, and the best thing is that it creates the tables without you having to configure anything, just the communication, it can simulate OFF LINE that EBPRO simulates as a physical hmi interface. FHDX 820: serves as mini SCADA without the use of an industrial PC, perhaps the only difference is that it does not have a Java script, but it has a macro that solves a lot, animations, alarms, events, recipes, it even triggers the PLC of different machines and without paying a license. EASYACCESS 2.0: remote access works miracles, it is possible to access the entire network and not just the HMI in question, firewall does not exist for it. WEINCLOUD.NET: Low-cost web SCADA creation per tag And the possibility of the entire CMT line becoming PLC codesys by activating license, very low cost.

🚀 First phase completed: Full integration of the Intelligent Generation Monitoring Center The first key stage of one of the most challenging and transformative projects I have worked on is officially concluded: the real-time integration of all the generation plants of Empresa Eléctrica Quito towards a unified, scalable and digitally supervised Smart Monitoring Center. This phase included the centralised connection and monitoring of: ⚡ Gualberto Hernández Thermal Power Plant 💧 CH Cumbayá 💧 CH Nayón 💧 CH Paschoa 💧 CH Guangopolo 🔌 (Coming soon) Hidrovictoria Power Plant 🧠 Technical Approach to the Project The system is built on a modern automation architecture that integrates: 🔹 Advanced HMI Weintek cMT-FHDX-820 — Programmed with macros, used for the calculation, treatment, consolidation and optimization of critical variables. — Interfaces designed in EasyBuilder Pro for intuitive, responsive, and operator-oriented visualization. 🔹 Data acquisition from Schneider Quantum PLC — Direct consumption of data on power, flow, levels, MWh, generation curves and mission-critical electrical parameters. — Standardization of protocols and optimization of data structures for reliable WAN performance. 🔹 WAN Communications Infrastructure and Central Broker — Each exchange sends its data in real time to a single node, with optimized telemetry and packet management. — Low latency, redundancy, security and full traceability are ensured. 🔹 WeinCloud Cloud Platform – Executive Dashboards — 24/7 remote monitoring, with just a link to the Weincloud web platform. — Advanced graphs of power, accumulated energy, fuel, efficiencies, transformer states and dynamic behavior. — Daily reports automatically generated in the cloud. 💡 Phase 1 Results ✔️ 100% operational integration of all the plants. ✔️ Real-time visualization of thermal and hydraulic energy production. ✔️ Unified dashboards that allow instant analysis of the energy balance. ✔️ Optimization of supervision for operators, maintenance and management. 🌐 Ultimate Goal Build a platform that takes energy management towards a modern scheme of: Smart Grid, centralized operation, intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making This project marks a before and after in the digitalisation of operational supervision and represents a firm step towards more resilient, efficient and sustainable energy management.

A PROJECT I’M PROUD OF A couple of years ago, I implemented an automation system for a sugar production facility — the chamber press filter station used for suspension filtration. During this project, I created a 3D model of the collector piping and actuator layout, developed the control algorithm from scratch on a VIPA 300s PLC, and fully built the interfaces for a Weintek HMI panel and a WinCC Professional SCADA system. This was my first PLC, SCADA, and HMI project that I completed entirely on my own. The most rewarding part was seeing the 3D model come to life and watching the mechanisms operate exactly as I had defined in the logic.

⚙️ Powering Precision Lifting – Mitsubishi FR-A800 Inverter in Hoist Automation In automation, motion control isn’t just about speed — it’s about stability, safety, and precision. Recently, I’ve been working hands-on with the Mitsubishi Electric FR-A800 Series Inverter (VFD), used to control hoist motors in the Cargo Terminal Conveyor Management System HSIA - ICT Site. This inverter delivers exceptional torque performance, smooth speed variation, and advanced safety features — essential for hoist operations where every lift and drop must be accurate and controlled. By integrating it with Mitsubishi R16 PLC and Weintek HMI, I explored: 🔹 Advanced speed and torque control for hoist mechanisms 🔹 Smooth start-stop profiles for load safety 🔹 Auto/manual mode switching via PLC logic 🔹 Real-time monitoring through HMI and SCADA Working on this setup reminded me how precision and reliability define automation. Every well-tuned inverter parameter transforms a heavy mechanical system into a smart, efficient, and safe operation.

Water Cooled Chiller System by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Omron and operated via HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Weintek The objective of this project is the design and implementation of a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for a Water-Cooled Chiller System through the integration of industrial-grade hardware and software. The system models the air cooling process via water circulation, managed by an Omron PLC and operated through a Weintek HMI. Real-time monitoring is facilitated by an OPC UA server and client framework, with supporting software including CX-Programmer, KEPServerEX, and EasyBuilder. The developed system has been successfully realized with features of automated control, real-time monitoring, and dependable fault management. The seamless integration of PLC, HMI, and OPC UA illustrates the efficiency of SCADA technology in industrial cooling applications. The project underscores the critical role of integrated system design in enhancing energy performance and ensuring operational reliability.

Honestly they are all pretty good, under 10inch and standalone machine i go with the IE/iP series, simply because of the price, nothing comes close. Anything bigger or part of the PLC network I go with CMT X series, you can set them up to access all the CMT HMIs from any other CMT HMI, obviously all password protected but I have a headless CMT HMI in my office connected to a big monitor showing me every HMI on the plant, it's no replacement for a good scada system but it still allows me to make adjustments and monitor data at a glance without loading up or running extra applications on my laptop. But any of them will work, and that's the biggest benefit to me, 1 version of 1 application will do them all

I have used Weintek products for over 14 years and I have only one word to describe this company, FANTASTIC. The Weintek range of industrial products provide Allen Bradley quality, with a feature set that can match some large-scale SCADA packages, all for a very low cost.
