Proud to share a recent project delivered by our team in an animal feed production facility (poultry, cattle, and goat nutrition lines). The objective was clear: Replace an unstable and faulty control system with a reliable, precise, and fully automated solution. The existing process was running in semi-automatic mode with recurring dosing inaccuracies from multiple silos and limited diagnostic visibility. This was directly impacting efficiency and maintenance response time. CMT Line: Remote Access, Web Page, with native MQTT talking directly to AWS, AZURE, serves as supervisory.
G01 this gateway is fantastic: it serves for any integrated modbus server PLC, native MQTT and OPC UA with 15 thousand tags without licensing, very easy integration with SCADA, talks with SQL server database, and My SQL, and the best thing is that it creates the tables without you having to configure anything, just the communication, it can simulate OFF LINE that EBPRO simulates as a physical hmi interface.
FHDX 820: serves as mini SCADA without the use of an industrial PC, perhaps the only difference is that it does not have a Java script, but it has a macro that solves a lot, animations, alarms, events, recipes, it even triggers the PLC of different machines and without paying a license.
EASYACCESS 2.0: remote access works miracles, it is possible to access the entire network and not just the HMI in question, firewall does not exist for it.
WEINCLOUD.NET: Low-cost web SCADA creation per tag
And the possibility of the entire CMT line becoming PLC codesys by activating license, very low cost.

So we've decided to extend our topology using Weintek instead.

I have written a HMI program and connected to a PLC with online simulation where my laptop acts like a HMI and then controlled all functions as normal. Then I purchased the HMI and installed. They offer screen less HMIs as well, I recommend you take a look at their products. Well worth the money and they have hundreds of drivers.

Rumor mill from other plants and customers I have talked to about this setup is a TV is designed to be installed in our living room so the industrial environment gives a TV about a 1 year life span is the feedback I received from others…not really designed to be hung in a hot warehouse showing off your OEE scores…but the TV cost $300 and the cMT-FHDX-820 is $765…. Not bad.
Did I mention that from power “ON” to updating tags is a mind blowing 9 seconds?

Key advance in the project: Intelligent Monitoring Center, designed to integrate and supervise in real time the Cumbayá, Nayón, Pasochoa, Guangopolo, Gualberto Hernández Thermal Power Plant (broker) and soon the Hidrovictoria Power Plant.
The system is based on advanced Weintek model cMT-FHDX-820 HMI devices, programmed with macros in C language for the calculation and processing of production and consumption data. In addition, the graphical interface was developed in Easy Builder Pro and the information was taken from a Quantum Shcneider PLC in each plant. Each central is connected through a WAN network, sending its critical variables to a central node, and all the information is stored and visualized on the WeinCloud web platform, through executive dashboards.

Weintek stuff , i don't use It as a HMI i always use the cmt line as a Bridge betwenr diferent PLC and comunication protocols , it's a no brainer easy to use and cheap

Honestly they are all pretty good, under 10inch and standalone machine i go with the IE/iP series, simply because of the price, nothing comes close. Anything bigger or part of the PLC network I go with CMT X series, you can set them up to access all the CMT HMIs from any other CMT HMI, obviously all password protected but I have a headless CMT HMI in my office connected to a big monitor showing me every HMI on the plant, it's no replacement for a good scada system but it still allows me to make adjustments and monitor data at a glance without loading up or running extra applications on my laptop. But any of them will work, and that's the biggest benefit to me, 1 version of 1 application will do them all

There are some quality of life stuff lacking in setting them up but generally they are quite excellent. For a facless one they start at 120 GBP and a 15" one will run you about 1,000-1,100. They communicate with just about anything so I have been using them to communicate with GE products, modbus (TCP & RTS RS485), Allen Bradley & ASCII over TCP. The HMI programming software is free so you can download it and set up an HMI, run a simulation on your PC and see if you like it. They have a lot of YouTube videos on how to set everything up. Allen Bradley products generally communicate using Ethernet/IP protocols and not Modbus. We also use a lot of FactoryTalk products but generally you get about 1/4 as much and have limited functionality. If all you want to do is communicate with AB than it's a good option. Programming them between multiple is a pain as the files are stored on your computer and challenging to transfer so you need to create a backup and transfer it that way..

Used 100's of Weinteks. Really like them a lot. Only a couple of times with Rockell, but that went fine. Import all tags directly to Weintek from Rockwell file is big time saver. Sometimes requires a little manual intervention, but always allows a way to use newer products. They have a headless unit for use with external hdmi touchscreens (Hope Industrial or Elo). I use that with systems going into harsh environments. Easier to replace a dumb screen than the entire HMI

Ops asked for 2 more… this system was easily expandable by using mini pc’s with VESA mounting to the monitor. Installed the cMT viewer application on the remote PC’s. Launched the apps and pointed it to the Headless HMI’s cMT server. Easy low cost solution. No proprietary licensing needed.
