⚙️ Powering Precision Lifting – Mitsubishi FR-A800 Inverter in Hoist Automation
In automation, motion control isn’t just about speed — it’s about stability, safety, and precision.
Recently, I’ve been working hands-on with the Mitsubishi Electric FR-A800 Series Inverter (VFD), used to control hoist motors in the Cargo Terminal Conveyor Management System HSIA - ICT Site.
This inverter delivers exceptional torque performance, smooth speed variation, and advanced safety features — essential for hoist operations where every lift and drop must be accurate and controlled.
By integrating it with Mitsubishi R16 PLC and Weintek HMI, I explored:
🔹 Advanced speed and torque control for hoist mechanisms
🔹 Smooth start-stop profiles for load safety
🔹 Auto/manual mode switching via PLC logic
🔹 Real-time monitoring through HMI and SCADA
Working on this setup reminded me how precision and reliability define automation. Every well-tuned inverter parameter transforms a heavy mechanical system into a smart, efficient, and safe operation.

This HMI provides:

In modern industrial automation, HMI (Human Machine Interface) plays a vital role in bridging operators and PLC systems.
Recently, I’ve been working with the Weintek MT8121XE HMI — a 12.1” high-performance touch panel that offers fast response, clear visualization, and smooth integration with Mitsubishi PLC (R16 series) using EasyBuilder Pro software.
This HMI provides:
🔹 Real-time monitoring of conveyor operations
🔹 Alarm management and event tracking
🔹 Data logging and trend visualization
🔹 User-friendly interface for manual and auto control
Currently applying this system in Cargo Terminal Conveyor Management at Export Cargo Terminal (Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport). where visualization and reliability are key to continuous operations.

We successfully automated a Flexo Printing Machine by synchronizing its rollers and integrating all I/O signals. Both analog signals (such as speed) and sensor-based counting were connected and displayed on the HMI.
The project was implemented using a Mitsubishi PLC and a Weintek HMI, ensuring smooth operation and real-time monitoring.

🚀 Automation Project – HMI Translation & Enhancement
This month I had the opportunity to participate in a very interesting project related to the modification of the different HMIs of an entertainment system production line at HONDA.
🔧 Project Description:
The work consisted of translating the Weintek brand HMIs into the EasyBuilder Pro software, moving from Chinese-English to Spanish.
The main objective was to facilitate the understanding of the concepts shown in the HMI, so that operators and technicians have clarity about what they are pressing and how these actions impact the process.

More intuitive and operator-friendly 👨 🏭 interface
Reduction in fault ⚡ diagnosis times
Better communication between the system and plant personnel
📚 What this project left me:
It was a very enriching experience that allowed me to strengthen my skills in PLC and HMI programming, as well as to continue learning about the integration of automated systems.

I’ve had very good experiences with Weintek, must just be what you’re used to. From the budget HMI perspective I (personally) have yet to use something better. Their software is really robust and easy to use, multiple times a week they push updates to it fixing bugs and adding new features, I’ve never experienced support like that from Mitsubishi or Rockwell.

I have around a dozen in use, with Mitsubishi and AB PLCs. Love em. I 100% recommend them, I’ve yet to have one fail and they’ve been in use for 5ish years, 24/7 364.

I use the MT8xxxie series all the time and communicate with multiple PLCs over Ethernet at the same time. I have one 15” HMI pulling from AB and Mitsubishi at the same time so I can check on machines. I also have another that acts like a go between for a modbus power monitor and an AB PLC. Edit to add: I was very sceptical about Weintek when I first used one - a guy I know that runs another plant told me about them. I’ve had one of their HMIs running for about 4 years now, no problems at all. I now have several running 24/7 364 and I can’t say I’ve ever really had an issue with them. They are easier to work on than our PanelView HMIs (far better software IMO), so as our panel views get damaged I replace them with Weintek.
