I've used them quite a bit as Maple systems screens. I like that they can talk to a ton of different PLC types. I mainly use it for Allen-bradley cause the weintek is a lot cheaper than the panelviews. Heck, there was one project on a dredge in Savannah that used a 4" weintek just to switch screens on a factorytalk SE Application.

In 2023, we commissioned a 12-Stand Continuous Rolling Line with the following specifications: • Commissioned using Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View SCADA. • Ethernet IP communication Siemens AC Drives for Relay Lines, Cassette, Comb, Chains, Aramakas, and Profibus communication Sprint DC Drives for Rolling Stands and Reel. • Monitoring and control provided with FactoryTalk View SCADA and Weintek HMI. • Ethernet switches for short-distance RIO and drive communications, and fiber optic switches for distances of 50 meters and above. • A Recipe application was prepared using VisualBasic Script via SCADA for storing parameters related to pulled products. • A Reporting system was prepared using SQL-supported Weintek HMI and MSSQL for remote access and statistics.

I used my first brand new Weintek (Maple) cMT3072XH2v2 HMI earlier this year on a job that had a tight budget for a customer's in house/internal R & D project. I had been really wanting to try one anyway and this was the perfect opportunity. The application was very basic, so I did not get a chance to use any of it's more advanced features..... Next Time..... I believe that if you are an OEM and you use different platforms, (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron....) but basically you produce the same/similar equipment, then this HMI is going to save you engineering hours and $$$$..... My 2 cents.

These replace obsolete units that were only available on eBay and were costing the customer upwards of $5k/each! The entire install was performed on three stations for less than the cost of two meters, and the controllers were a whole other story! These are on a AL1341 modbus IO master, connected to Rockwell Automation Micro850 controllers and Weintek USA, Inc. cMT displays.

I’ve had very good experiences with Weintek, must just be what you’re used to. From the budget HMI perspective I (personally) have yet to use something better. Their software is really robust and easy to use, multiple times a week they push updates to it fixing bugs and adding new features, I’ve never experienced support like that from Mitsubishi or Rockwell.

Only experience I have with them are Weintek HMI’s. We have a couple paired with AB PLC’s. They were super simple to share the tag database and get going communicating.

Used their cMTx series several times with AB PLCs and have never had any issues. I actually prefer them over AB HMIs. They have a lot of functionality and are pretty easy to set up. Just export your tags from Studio 5000 and import them as a csv into EasyBuilder Pro.

I absolutely love them. They work better with AB PLCs than Panelviews do. Easybuilder Pro can read tags from an L5x file, and even read tags directly from a connected PLC.

I use a lot of Weintek HMIs. They can like the automation direct C communicate with almost anything. They are relatively inexpensive and come with a lot of features. There are some quality of life stuff lacking in setting them up but generally they are quite excellent. For a facless one they start at 120 GBP and a 15" one will run you about 1,000-1,100. They communicate with just about anything so I have been using them to communicate with GE products, modbus (TCP & RTS RS485), Allen Bradley & ASCII over TCP. The HMI programming software is free so you can download it and set up an HMI, run a simulation on your PC and see if you like it. They have a lot of YouTube videos on how to set everything up. Allen Bradley products generally communicate using Ethernet/IP protocols and not Modbus. We also use a lot of FactoryTalk products but generally you get about 1/4 as much and have limited functionality. If all you want to do is communicate with AB than it's a good option. Programming them between multiple is a pain as the files are stored on your computer and challenging to transfer so you need to create a backup and transfer it that way..

Used 100's of Weinteks. Really like them a lot. Only a couple of times with Rockell, but that went fine. Import all tags directly to Weintek from Rockwell file is big time saver. A few points about weintek- all units I have put out there since 2005 have had a forward migration path. Sometimes requires a little manual intervention, but always allows a way to use newer products. They have a headless unit for use with external hdmi touchscreens (Hope Industrial or Elo). I use that with systems going into harsh environments. Easier to replace a dumb screen than the entire HMI

I have around a dozen in use, with Mitsubishi and AB PLCs. Love em. I 100% recommend them, I’ve yet to have one fail and they’ve been in use for 5ish years, 24/7 364.

Pro-Face was my go to until someone recommended Weintek systems to me, I'm now fully converted. I would absolutely never replace or purchase a new PanelView HMI even tho my sites are 100% Allan bradley, i find it completely absurd that they cost 2-3x as much as any other HMI, can only communicate with specific ranges of their own branded PLCs, and the amount of versions and software packages you need is pure insanity. Panelbuilder32, CCW, FTView, and versions all the way from the latest back to v5.00 to be able to upload to the oldest models. If one dies it immediately gets replaced with Weintek without question.

I have one 15” HMI pulling from AB and Mitsubishi at the same time so I can check on machines. I also have another that acts like a go between for a modbus power monitor and an AB PLC. Edit to add: I was very sceptical about Weintek when I first used one - a guy I know that runs another plant told me about them. I’ve had one of their HMIs running for about 4 years now, no problems at all. I now have several running 24/7 364 and I can’t say I’ve ever really had an issue with them. They are easier to work on than our PanelView HMIs (far better software IMO), so as our panel views get damaged I replace them with Weintek.

I totally understand the getting away from AB pricing. But, I can get a 12" Weintek for less than $900 and I can talk to any PLC I want. But, the AB integration is so simple hence the reason we switch (with customer approval). BTW the OnLogic screens look sleek. That is actually what we are using for this project. Not Edge though. Maybe I need to look more into that I haven't really looked at all.

What the... we currently are using weintek with Siemens s7-1500 Easy builder pro 6.10.01.217 and up imports everything automatically with one click also we also use it to pass info from Siemens to Allen Bradley PLC PS as you can suggest we usually use only Allen Bradley with weintek combo it's waaaaaaaaay better then anything with the label Siemens on it

Some action shots from a 3 panel build for a customer in Iowa. These three control panels will control the temperature in soup kettles. The customer is currently running an open loop system with manual temperature recording. Dynamic Motion Industries LLC is providing them a closed loop solution with real time monitoring and emailed reports to their quality team. These panels are slotted for install and commissioning the end of this week. This system uses a Rockwell Automation Micro 850 with a Real Time Clock module and an RTD expansion module. We are using ifm PT100 Stainless Steel 24” sensors and displaying it all on a Weintek USA, Inc. HMI.

I would go mits with the weintek. I would prefer rockwell myself for the PLC. Mitsubishi is not like rockwell meaning you will need to get used to it but I would prefer it over siemens. The software should be cheaper. The whole suite of mitsubishi software PLC and HMI Is like $500. If you have a distributor near you they should support you. You should require the software to be open to you after buyoff.

Have an interesting job recently reviving a old AB 1500 LRP PLC (16 bit) and programming it to a Weintek HMI (32 bit). PLC was 25 years old and you will see from the pictures had to put everything back together. Original HMI was dead LED light came on but screen was blank and casing for HMI was broke. Few problems - Since original HMI was dead hade to start from scratch programming new one - PLC was faulted when powered up. Faulty cards, had to get new. - Was hoping to get original program from eeprom but was locked out, or chip has failed. Luckily PLC battery was good and program still in PLC. - Challenge converting 32 bit technology to 16 bit so New HMI would communicate with PLC.

After graduating, I started full time in May 2023 as a Controls Engineer in Software. In this role, I program and debug machines from power on through final shipment. I work with Allen Bradley PLCs, ROS2 systems in Ubuntu, HMIs (Allen Bradley and Weintek), Machine Vision Systems (Cognex and Keyence), and more. Even early on, my time at HAHN was filled with learning and hands-on experience. Now, full time, it continues to be a rewarding journey with plenty of variety. What I appreciate most is that every day brings something new. I am constantly expanding my technical knowledge, improving my communication skills, and stepping into leadership opportunities through customer interaction and group coordination. A standout moment was programming a show machine with Mecademic robots in my first year and traveling to the ATX Trade Show in California. It opened my eyes to the scale of the automation industry and gave me the chance to meet other integrators and vendors. Another proud achievement has been seeing a project through from start to finish and watching a machine ship out successfully. My best experience at HAHN has been taking on a customer's new end of line functional tester. It is a significant departure from our typical project at HAHN, which made it especially fulfilling. Through this project, I gained valuable technical skills like Ubuntu, ROS2, EtherCAT, Python, MQTT, and Weintek HMI. I also formed connections with the customer's software team and have become HAHN’s go-to person for this technology which is great for my career growth and something I’m proud of.

Every year, to get through the rough Wisconsin winters, I try to do a "me" project. Not something needed, or asked for, just something that I think would be fun. One of the hardest things about my job is that we have made some pretty cool machinery here from scratch. Just a group of guys with our ideas, some very late nights, and just total grit & determination to bring it to life. But we cannot show too much as we are under NDA (and 100% respect confidentially). Well here is a much smaller (and completely unnecessary 😂) version of that. So cheers to all of us dreamers, chasers, and people that want to live life to the max! Another HMI Replacement. I recently did another AB Panel View replacement. I tried to replace the internal battery like the error suggested but did not work. This HMI had been greatly modified from the original so it was not in my data base. Using another press program and buying some software was able to extract the tag information needed. Diversified can now replace any older HMI's like the one in the picture or any other outdate ones no longer supported by Allen Bradley. This has the potential for us to grow into almost any industry using Allen Bradley products. Got lucky on this one but if I have the original file can extract tag information for the new Weintek HMI Diversified uses.
