It's a good product. Relatively affordable, powerful, and easy to use. We prefer them over Omron or AB screens because of cost and availability

Used their cMTx series several times with AB PLCs and have never had any issues. I actually prefer them over AB HMIs. They have a lot of functionality and are pretty easy to set up. Just export your tags from Studio 5000 and import them as a csv into EasyBuilder Pro.

I particularly like the headless HMI server. Pretty slick product, and plays nicely in a distributed Siemens environment.

The world of controls has no shortage of headaches. Cool tools and some key tips can help alleviate some of the common ones. Today I was playing with using config files for Weintek USA, Inc. HMIs for a standardized product we have. In the project I also disabled the start button to access the HMI system screen. I added a hidden button to activate it but dyslexia caught up with me and I didn't notice the address was incorrect before downloading. Once rebooted, attempted logins via CODESYS North America were unsuccessful. LAN1 is controlled by the Codesys runtime when installed and I had forgotten the check box to have Codesys update the adapter IP as I wasn't talking with remote IO yet anyway. LAN2 was set to use DHCP, but a quick scan did not show it on the network. Uh oh... I looked down and saw my IP-Explorer from TW Controls. Plugged it in and within seconds had the IP address needed to connect to the HMI and fix my errors. But now I'd have to adjust my adapter settings. Where did windows move them with the latest update? Doesn't matter, after the training from Traceroute, "run>ncpa.cpl" is engrained into my daily life. A small tidbit that over a lifetime will save humanity hours of wasted time. Small wins add up.

I use a lot of Weintek HMIs. They can like the automation direct C communicate with almost anything. They are relatively inexpensive and come with a lot of features. There are some quality of life stuff lacking in setting them up but generally they are quite excellent. For a facless one they start at 120 GBP and a 15" one will run you about 1,000-1,100. They communicate with just about anything so I have been using them to communicate with GE products, modbus (TCP & RTS RS485), Allen Bradley & ASCII over TCP. The HMI programming software is free so you can download it and set up an HMI, run a simulation on your PC and see if you like it. They have a lot of YouTube videos on how to set everything up. Allen Bradley products generally communicate using Ethernet/IP protocols and not Modbus. We also use a lot of FactoryTalk products but generally you get about 1/4 as much and have limited functionality. If all you want to do is communicate with AB than it's a good option. Programming them between multiple is a pain as the files are stored on your computer and challenging to transfer so you need to create a backup and transfer it that way..

I have used Weintek for at least 10 years now. Hundreds of HMI deployments over many industries and in some harsh conditions. Recently I’ve been doing some building automation stuff using the more advanced versions of the HMIs with Codesys. and the iR IO modules. Also, lately I’ve been working at things like remote connections with the headless SVRX HMIs and EasyAccess2.0. I really enjoy using the Weintek equipment and hope to have many more opportunities with it.

Technical debt can sneak up on you and flexibility is key when combating it. Our original simple level monitoring panel was written in a simple cost-effective PLC with fixed memory programming. This was fine for minimal features and only four sensors. When it needed to be expanded to accommodate more sensors and features, dev time and potential errors shot up exponentially and compromises would have to be made. We use Codesys almost exclusively for our bigger projects and initially I felt it was overkill for this. Fortunately, we had already upgraded to using a Weintek HMI and that opened the door for easy Codesys integration. The cost-effective PLC was converted to remote IO, Codesys license added to the HMI and the program was rewritten in 1/10th of the time with no compromises made. Future requests will also be easy to accommodate due to the power of Codesys.

Been up north commissioning a Couple of Weintek cMTX 10" HMI for a Sick Flexi-Soft safety system at a timber mill, as part of the sites machinery safety upgrades. I designed the HMI's with some basic site layouts for each safety zone and device locations to make it easier on production staff in the event of a fault or safety device activation. As well as some bus error diagnostics and fault logs for the maintenance team. Weintek HMI's can connect directly to the Sick safety controller with their flexi-Soft driver and with the tags exported from the safety logic makes connection between them a breeze.

Excited to share the details of a recent project I worked on! Designed and implemented a complete monitoring and control system. Here’s what we accomplished: - Used sensors for temperature, humidity, and differential pressure in each tank. - Two valves for each tank —one for gas purging and the other for exhaust. - Designed a pressure-controlled system where the upper and lower pressure limits (set via a Weintek HMI) controlled the system operations. - Added user-defined upper and lower limits for temperature, pressure, and humidity, with alarms for all these parameters. - Configured digital feedback for valve statuses (open, closed, or intermediate), displayed on the HMI system monitor for real-time tracking. - Implemented datalogging to record valve operations (open/close) and high/low alarms for pressure, temperature, and humidity. -Developed real-time graphs for pressure, temperature, and humidity on the HMI to monitor trends and system behavior visually. - Also added feature for remote monitoring and control using Easy access 2.0. This project was an incredible experience, combining automation, real-time monitoring, and data management into a robust and user-friendly system!

I've been enjoying getting familiar with Weintek USA, Inc. Easy Builder Pro HMI software. This is just about finished with design and simulating the sequencer code (customer logo redacted in the top left). Below is the HMI for an inspection system with a robot to sort good/bad parts after inspection. I also wrote all the PLC code for this and did the electrical design. Can't wait to see it all in action. Creating what most of us would refer to as parameterized popups in Easy Builder Pro is quite different from what I'm used to with other platforms. After a short call with tech support to explain what I was after, we reached a solution. For automation systems with a limited budget, Weintek is quite a value compared to other platforms. In addition to the hardware cost being very competitive, the software is free to download, free to use, and tech support is free. No extra costs for your controls techs to view/troubleshoot code. Not to mention these units can also run Codesys for PLC programming! If you are in need of a more budget friendly solution to your automation problems, let's talk!

"Revolutionizing Denim Pants Production with Automation: A Success Story" HSA (Pvt.) Ltd. (Leather Division) Introduction As an automation expert, I'm thrilled to share a recent success story where I designed and implemented a comprehensive automation solution for a spray booth machine used in denim pants production. This project showcases the power of automation in transforming manufacturing processes. The Challenge: The client's existing spray booth machine was manually operated, resulting in inconsistent product quality, reduced efficiency, and increased labor costs. The goal was to automate the process to improve product quality, reduce production time, and minimize waste. The Solution: To address the challenge, I designed and built a custom control panel, developed a Fatek PLC program, and created a user-friendly HMI (Human-Machine Interface) for the spray booth machine. The automation solution featured: - Automated Pressure control - Spray nozzle control - Alarm and notification system - Real-time monitoring and data analysis through the HMI Results: The implementation of the automation solution resulted in significant improvements in production efficiency, product quality, and reduced labor costs. The client reported: - 30% increase in production efficiency - 20% reduction in labor costs - Improved product quality and consistency Conclusion: This project demonstrates the transformative power of automation in manufacturing. By designing and implementing a comprehensive automation solution, we were able to streamline the denim pants production process, resulting in significant cost savings and improved product quality.

In this stage, we commissioned the functionality of four Centronik valves equipped with electronic positioners, utilizing Profibus DP as the communication protocol between our Siemens CPU 1200 series and the associated equipment. The project also involved integrating temperature and pressure sensors and developing a user-friendly HMI interface for the end user. Our team was actively involved in every stage of the project, starting from electrical work, cable pulling and marking, and lighting system setup, to PLC software development. Additionally, we provided comprehensive training to the beneficiary's personnel to ensure the proper operation and efficient utilization of the installation. For the HMI development, we leveraged Weintek technology, a versatile solution offering advanced features, including the ability to import user-defined symbols to enhance the interface's functionality and customization.

One thing I want to do with my business is get more familiar with cost friendly platforms for your automation solutions. Hey if you want (won't mention names), I've programmed more of those than anything else over my career and I'm happy to do it more. However, not every automation project has the budget, or the justification, for those costs. Over the years I've seen several automation projects die at the budgetary discussion phase because of the cost of hardware and software. I want to be able to offer solutions that fit those budgets and Weintek USA, Inc. is a great solution for that. Thanks Brendon Schultz for great tech support when I had questions along the learning curve. Especially the parameterized popups!

What would you do if you needed to measure high frequency inputs in a PLC-based application? In my experience, I always prefer to relieve the PLC of this burden and utilize a separate module for high-frequency measurements. For example, I recently investigated the capabilities of the new Weintek iR-PU01-P module, which can receive pulse input at up to 2MHz, and the findings were extremely positive. Despite the fact that the PU01-P is a 1-axis module designed for motion control, it has proven to be an extremely useful solution for measuring simple high frequency pulses from our TCS product flow meters in our fuel additive injection calibration loop, improving performance, reducing PLC load, and increasing accuracy and scalability.

Ease of use is a key feature in #agautomation. Coupling a VEGA Americas, Inc. radar with a Weintek USA, Inc. HMI and WERMA stacklights provides simple, reliable and easy to use level monitoring for any grain system. VEGA's intuitive VEGA Tools app allows customers to configure radars on their own with ease over bluetooth. Weintek's flexibility in design makes it easy to hide away rarely used settings in pop-ups, making field configuration easy on a less cluttered HMI with hierarchical design. WERMA's new RST56 provides a sharp contrast vs traditional stacklights with colored lenses, making it easier to distinguish which light segments are illuminated.

Great things come in small packages. These compact panels are headed out to various sites for monitoring grain bin levels with VEGA Americas, Inc. radar levels sensors and Weintek USA, Inc. HMIs. A few have some simple extra logic that was requested such as stacklight operation, auto swap between bins based on level and auto shutdown based on amperage. Custom routed enclosures from Polycase, Inc. keeps things neat and professional.

Existing customer called with a problem, their project was being delayed by control panel lead times. A basic lead/lag pump panel based on level. The spec called for relay logic, indicator lights and mercury switches. With customer approval we updated this to modern times with a VEGA Americas, Inc. radar level sensor, PLC control and Weintek USA, Inc. HMI for easy user adjustments and remote operation. Designed, assembled and programmed in 10% of the originally quoted timeframe. Can't always knock them out this quick, but when the timing allows and the programs are straightforward, things move quick. #plcprogramming #automation #freshproduce #systemsintegrator

The Weintek line is fantastic for the dough. Price point is comparable to automation direct, but it's connectivity and software set it miles ahead of Cmore in my opinion. FYI, I'm not a salesman, just like their stuff.

Weintek hardware is great, mostly just use the web browser feature to display Codesys WebVisu, but use EBPro for a few simple projects and it's decent. The cMTX series looks like something actually from this decade unlike many HMIs. Sex appeal isn't everything, doesn't hurt though.

Update on the animation projects for the machine system we are fabbing now. this project is about a month out from finished. we are building the pusher in the bottom shop now and and I an working on the HMI and code. this should be clean and as always, Weintek and Keith Moyer has knocked it out of the park with this product!

Technical breakdown of the Ideal Manufacturing LLC Cope Machine: This two station cope machine is demonstrated here being fed by a UR 20. This robot is a bit overkill for the application but accomplishes the job with its impressive 68in reach. The control system for this machine is based on a Beckhoff Automation CX series processor which enabled easy to implement multi-axis motion control and logic control. We also rely on the TwinSAFE platform to seamlessly manage the safety logic for this machine. Phoenix Contact supplies safe zero speed monitoring for the 2 high speed 9kw spindles powered by Lenze i500 series VFDs over EtherCAT. These spindles have quick change HSK tool holders and are capable of 12000 RPM in this configuration. Compact motion control keeps the cabinet size low with the EL72xx series drives which drive the Beckhoff AM8000 servo motors to provide reliable, precise motion for cutting and positioning of the spindles in 3 dimensional space in combination with Apex gearboxes and Metal Work's linear actuators. The spindle gantry is built of 3/4in steel to reduce vibration and improve cut quality. This results in a gantry with estimated weight of 300lbs. Pneumatics are controlled using Metal Works EB80 IO-Link valve bank with an interrupted power section for safe state operation. Weintek offers this clean, quality HMI from the CMTX series and easy communication to the PLC over ADS. For more information on the woodworking features and specs of operation on this machine go to idealmanufacturingllc.com

I designed and implemented a straightforward yet highly effective Live Cloud Monitoring System for my organization. Leveraging the CMT Series of Weintek HMI, with the Easy Access function activated, I established seamless remote access to our Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for monitoring and troubleshooting, eliminating the necessity for additional VPN and server configurations. Furthermore, I utilized the Weincloud Dashboard to incorporate 20 PLC Tags into a Web-Based HMI, as depicted below. Finally, I authored a PHP script to seamlessly embed the Weincloud HMI within our private domain. In Malaysia, the adoption of IoT tools remains relatively limited compared to their widespread utilization in Western industrial contexts. However, I firmly believe that these tools exhibit considerable stability and prevalence in Western industries. It behooves us to embrace this technology and venture beyond conventional frameworks rather than expending resources on foundational development. By doing so, we can expedite our development processes and mitigate operational downtime. Is there any harm in exploring new avenues? 😉

Some action shots from a 3 panel build for a customer in Iowa. These three control panels will control the temperature in soup kettles. The customer is currently running an open loop system with manual temperature recording. Dynamic Motion Industries LLC is providing them a closed loop solution with real time monitoring and emailed reports to their quality team. These panels are slotted for install and commissioning the end of this week. This system uses a Rockwell Automation Micro 850 with a Real Time Clock module and an RTD expansion module. We are using ifm PT100 Stainless Steel 24” sensors and displaying it all on a Weintek USA, Inc. HMI.

There's several alternatives to radar for bin level sensing. 🪨 Throw stones at the side of the bin. 🪜 Climb the ladder constantly. 🪟 Mechanical indicators that fill w/water. 🎡 Rotary switches combined with a stopwatch for how long to fill after the light turns on and a notepad to remember to tell grandpa there's already 2 loads past the switch. 📷 Cameras... That magically see through dust and debris. ➕ Math, grain in - grain out. EzPz. Or just add radar and remove the guesswork.

Weintek HMIs have some really powerful features - I've used the macro functionality before but I just started messing around with the Java Script Object. It's designed for completely custom graphics which I love since most HMIs built in objects aren't the best... Here is a link to the SDK if curious: lnkd.in/gWDxQU7M I need to spend some more time testing its functionality and limitations but currently it seems pretty sweet!

Service? Yeah, they do it on another level too. So the pretty Weintek screen I posted earlier made it all the way to Alabama without the little green terminal block in it because I do stupid stuff sometimes... Guys, at 4pm Central, I reached out to Keith Moyer for a lifeline, and he responded in minutes and dropped everything he was doing to overnight me that little terminal block. There is service, and then their is absolutely being a life saver for your client. This machine has to run Monday, and obviously it wouldn't run without an HMI. This is why I champion the product, and the company. Simple as that.

Pro-Face was my go to until someone recommended Weintek systems to me, I'm now fully converted. I would absolutely never replace or purchase a new PanelView HMI even tho my sites are 100% Allan bradley, i find it completely absurd that they cost 2-3x as much as any other HMI, can only communicate with specific ranges of their own branded PLCs, and the amount of versions and software packages you need is pure insanity. Panelbuilder32, CCW, FTView, and versions all the way from the latest back to v5.00 to be able to upload to the oldest models. If one dies it immediately gets replaced with Weintek without question.

I haven't used this one yet, BUT I have yet to touch a piece of Weintek hardware that wasn't fantastic. We use their HMIs exclusively now. The Cmt3162X is simply the finest HMI you can get. We use it and the built in Codesys on all kinds of projects. (And this is free praise. No one is giving me any benefit to promote this. It's just good stuff!) Give Keith a shout and find out for yourself.

Some pictures of the first weeks of the year… Nice panel building, final commissioning of a foundry project and received a great new toy to play with from Weintek Especially the wifi module is an awesome feature. It’s possible to connect the HMI in your local wifi or you can use it as a hotspot to connect with your smartphone or laptop to control it remotely. With an EasyAccess license it’s working as your connection for remote support. Also #codesys license are available for HMI. I’m sure Weintek HMI will be used more and more in our projects.

Couldn’t agree more! We used the headless version to display runtime data on 32” HD Monitors. Ops asked for 2 more… this system was easily expandable by using mini pc’s with VESA mounting to the monitor. Installed the cMT viewer application on the remote PC’s. Launched the apps and pointed it to the Headless HMI’s cMT server. Easy low cost solution. No proprietary licensing needed.

Honestly they are all pretty good, under 10inch and standalone machine i go with the IE/iP series, simply because of the price, nothing comes close. Anything bigger or part of the PLC network I go with CMT X series, you can set them up to access all the CMT HMIs from any other CMT HMI, obviously all password protected but I have a headless CMT HMI in my office connected to a big monitor showing me every HMI on the plant, it's no replacement for a good scada system but it still allows me to make adjustments and monitor data at a glance without loading up or running extra applications on my laptop. But any of them will work, and that's the biggest benefit to me, 1 version of 1 application will do them all

I have had good luck with the newer ones. The first gen 3090 maybe had a issue with the Ethernet dhcp, but the newer ones and the svr 200 series have worked well. I'm about to deploy 20 of the newer svr units to act as data aggregators and iot gateways
