My first experience with Weintek HMI's was with exactly Maple Systems and Steven Engineering ~15 years ago. There was an older gentleman at STEVEN that walked me through the process of migrating a Mitsubishi HMI to the Weintek HMI5070TH and even helped me write some complex macros. That level of support hooked me on Weintek's HMI's ever since, where now we're using the advanced networking features of the cMT line as an edge device to connect to our cloud servers for near-real-time data logging, analysis & visualization. So getting back to your question, I prefer contacting the manufacturer directly, or a distributor that is highly technical. In this case, both Steven and Maple are very capable sources of support. Sure, I could spend a few hours researching myself, but you just can't beat years of experience and knowledge to kick-start your path. I find that the newer grads have a strong resistance to using this channel, so I let them struggle a bit on their own, then suggest this approach. Manufacturers spend a lot of resources training and grooming their techs, so why not take advantage of them?

Another HMI Replacement. I recently did another AB Panel View replacement. I tried to replace the internal battery like the error suggested but did not work. This HMI had been greatly modified from the original so it was not in my data base. Using another press program and buying some software was able to extract the tag information needed. Diversified can now replace any older HMI's like the one in the picture or any other outdate ones no longer supported by Allen Bradley. This has the potential for us to grow into almost any industry using Allen Bradley products. Got lucky on this one but if I have the original file can extract tag information for the new Weintek HMI Diversified uses.

More ifm flow meter installs by Dynamic Motion Industries LLC! Three SM8001 meters installed on soft water fill piping for our customers steam kettles. These replace obsolete units that were only available on eBay and were costing the customer upwards of $5k/each! The entire install was performed on three stations for less than the cost of two meters, and the controllers were a whole other story! These are on a AL1341 modbus IO master, connected to Rockwell Automation Micro850 controllers and Weintek USA, Inc. cMT displays.

Internship Project Highlight: HMI Design on Weintek MT8071iP During my internship at Industry Innovative Engineers - IIEngineers (iiengineers.com), I had the valuable opportunity to work on designing a Human Machine Interface (HMI) using the Weintek MT8071iP device and EasyBuilder Pro software. As an engineering student passionate about automation and control systems, this project allowed me to explore how HMIs serve as the bridge between operators and industrial hardware. Although the project was not deployed in a live industrial process, it gave me hands-on experience in simulating and building a functional, responsive, and user-friendly interface. Key Skills and Concepts Gained: HMI Design Fundamentals: I learned how to create intuitive layouts, assign system tags, and build screen navigation structures within EasyBuilder Pro. Modbus Communication: I explored how to set up communication between the HMI and simulated PLCs using the Modbus protocol, and understood the role of address mapping. User Experience (UX) for Industry: Special focus was given to designing clear visuals and user workflows suitable for industrial environments. This project gave me a solid introduction to HMI development and deepened my understanding of how operator panels work in manufacturing and process industries.

Every year, to get through the rough Wisconsin winters, I try to do a "me" project. Not something needed, or asked for, just something that I think would be fun. One of the hardest things about my job is that we have made some pretty cool machinery here from scratch. Well here is a much smaller (and completely unnecessary šŸ˜‚) version of that. So cheers to all of us dreamers, chasers, and people that want to live life to the max! āœ”ļøBack in 2015, I created a detailed guide on setting up a generator monitoring system using a DEIF CGC 400 Controller, a PC power supply, and a Weintek 8070IP touch screen with EasyBuilder 8000 software. This setup allowed for real-time monitoring of generator #RPM, temperatures, and other critical parameters, which was quite advanced for its time. āœ”ļøFast forward to 2025, and the landscape of industrial automation has evolved significantly. DEIF now offers more sophisticated control systems with features like remote monitoring, integration with renewable energy sources, and enhanced efficiency. Similarly, WEINTEK's touch screens have advanced, with models like the #cMT X Series providing superior processing power, cloud connectivity, and support for a wide range of PLC protocols. āœ”ļøMoreover, the integration of AI in generator monitoring systems has become more prevalent, enabling predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and optimized performance. These advancements make it easier to manage and maintain generator systems, reducing downtime and improving overall efficiency. āœ”ļøWhile my 2015 guide provides a solid foundation, today's systems offer even more capabilities, making them indispensable for modern industrial applications. āœ… Current Situation with AI and Other Resources in 2025 🟢 DEIF Advancements: DEIF, a global supplier of power control solutions, has continued to innovate, reporting a 7% revenue growth in 2024 and investing in R&D for new products, including highly efficient and compact power converters. Their genset controllers, such as the AGC-4 Mk II and iE 250, offer precision monitoring, enhanced efficiency, remote accessibility, and integration with hybrid microgrid applications, supporting renewable energy and storage solutions. These advancements suggest a shift toward more intelligent and sustainable control systems, as seen on their website and recent news 🟢 Weintek USA, Inc. Have an interesting job recently reviving a old AB 1500 LRP PLC (16 bit) and programming it to a Weintek HMI (32 bit). PLC was 25 years old and you will see from the pictures had to put everything back together. Original HMI was dead LED light came on but screen was blank and casing for HMI was broke. Few problems - Since original HMI was dead hade to start from scratch programming new one - PLC was faulted when powered up. Faulty cards, had to get new. - Was hoping to get original program from eeprom but was locked out, or chip has failed. Luckily PLC battery was good and program still in PLC. - Challenge converting 32 bit technology to 16 bit so New HMI would communicate with PLC.

They're great HMIs and I love being able to use Codesys with them. Costs me nothing to do all the learning and building I want. I'm developing something similar to PlantPAx, just not near as heavy and convoluted. Trying to get all the basics for each device type and make it so it's easy to scale up if a customer wants more features.

Proud to share my recent project, developed for a Weintek HMI screen using EasyBuilder software, during my internship at Atlas Engineering Ltd. šŸš€ As part of my time at the DID Plant—where high-precision motorcycle chain components are manufactured—I designed and implemented a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system to streamline production data handling and performance monitoring. šŸ”¹ Project Goal To simplify daily production data entry, automate dispatch and target tracking, and provide real-time performance insights through an interactive dashboard—helping operators and supervisors make faster, data-driven decisions. šŸ”¹ System Overview The HMI was built with three main interfaces: 1ļøāƒ£ Home Page – Company branding with real-time clock 2ļøāƒ£ Daily Production Table – Manual input for part-wise data (Inner Plate, Outer Plate, Pin, Bush, Roller), categorized by product models (CD-70, CG-125, CAM 25) and departments (OEM/SPD) 3ļøāƒ£ Production Dashboard – Visuals and records including: Monthly target vs achieved Daily dispatch summary Yearly log (Jan–Dec) Pie charts for progress visualization Functional controls for refresh, calculations, and logging šŸ”¹ Automation via Macros āœ… Auto-calculation of total dispatch āœ… Target progress tracking āœ… Dynamic pie chart updates āœ… Monthly-to-yearly data logging šŸ”¹ Key Impact This system enhanced operator efficiency, ensured accurate production records, and introduced real-time visibility into daily operations—bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights. This hands-on project allowed me to apply my skills in EasyBuilder, macro programming, and industrial automation to solve practical production challenges on a Weintek-based interface.

HAHN Automation Group
Hi, I'm Jacob and #IamHAHN since 2020. I first joined HAHN Automation Group as a co-op student, completing three rotations between 2020 and 2021 while studying at the University of Cincinnati. After graduating, I started full time in May 2023 as a Controls Engineer in Software. In this role, I program and debug machines from power on through final shipment. I work with Allen Bradley PLCs, ROS2 systems in Ubuntu, HMIs (Allen Bradley and Weintek), Machine Vision Systems (Cognex and Keyence), and more. Even early on, my time at HAHN was filled with learning and hands-on experience. Now, full time, it continues to be a rewarding journey with plenty of variety. What I appreciate most is that every day brings something new. I am constantly expanding my technical knowledge, improving my communication skills, and stepping into leadership opportunities through customer interaction and group coordination. A standout moment was programming a show machine with Mecademic robots in my first year and traveling to the ATX Trade Show in California. It opened my eyes to the scale of the automation industry and gave me the chance to meet other integrators and vendors. Another proud achievement has been seeing a project through from start to finish and watching a machine ship out successfully. My best experience at HAHN has been taking on a customer's new end of line functional tester. It is a significant departure from our typical project at HAHN, which made it especially fulfilling. Through this project, I gained valuable technical skills like Ubuntu, ROS2, EtherCAT, Python, MQTT, and Weintek HMI. I also formed connections with the customer's software team and have become HAHN’s go-to person for this technology which is great for my career growth and something I’m proud of.

Project Highlight: Furnace Monitoring System – Chemistry Lab, ITB As part of the Engineering team at PT Daun Biru Engineering, I had the opportunity to take the lead as Project Manager for the successful installation and integration of a Furnace Monitoring System at the Chemistry Laboratory of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). The project was executed at the Chemistry Laboratory of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in Bandung, on March 24–25, 2025, for our client Dr. Carolus Borromeus Rasrendra, Head of the Chemistry Lab. The scope of work included the replacement of 13 temperature controllers (Autonics TK4S and TK4L series), integration of temperature data from both Autonics controllers and Fuji recorders via the Modbus protocol, and the setup of centralized data acquisition using a Weintek HMI, which served as a data logger and trend monitoring interface. Additional tasks involved panel baseplate modification, structured cabling, and the installation of supporting components such as a PC All-in-One (AIO), UPS, and DIN-rail accessories. In total, the system enabled real-time logging and monitoring of 25 temperature points across two independent reactor systems. This system enhances ITB’s lab operations with accurate, real-time furnace temperature monitoring and historical trend data — supporting their chemical research activities with better traceability and control. Appreciate the support from the ITB Chemistry Lab and the amazing team at PT Daun Biru Engineering for making this project a success.

I started working with Weintek a very long time ago (EasyBuilder 8000, when it was just becoming relevant). Back then, I mainly worked on Siemens, Omron, and Pro-face HMIs. Since then, I've witnessed many changes in the HMI and SCADA field, and Weintek continues to impress with its innovations. I've seen European companies increasingly adopting Weintek right before my eyes. The learning curve is very low initially, but as a specialist grows, Weintek keeps offering more and more advanced capabilities. I truly hope this trend continues!

We installed and commissioned a flame modulation temperature control system in bakery ovens. The system consists of a Fatek PLC, Weintek HMI interface and drivers for stepper motors, which operate the air intake flaps, allowing fine and efficient temperature control. The work was carried out on a non-working day so as not to interrupt production. Automating is also understanding when and how to intervene without slowing down the operation. ⁣

At ppm Industrial AB, we have recently completed a tailor-made gas detection exchange system – adapted for installation directly in the customer's existing electrical cabinet. šŸ› ļø The system is pre-mounted on a sheet metal for easy integration and minimized installation time. šŸ“ The limited space required a compact and precisely designed build, without compromising on function or accessibility. šŸ“ˆ The HMI panel is recessed into the cabinet door and provides a full overview of: • Current gas values • Trends and history • Detector locations with visual status indication (colour change in case of alarm). The result is an efficient and future-proof solution for upgrading older gas alarms – with a focus on reliability and clarity.

Been learning motion control with Codesys. using Ethercat servo's, Something I've always wanted to do but never had the time or space at work. So bought a 3 axis router frame kit. modified it to take servo motors. and jumped on in. It's been a very cool project and a great project to learn on. Still lots of small functionality to program in. but its operational. Just done the auto tool zero, so at the push of a button on the HMI it will measure the height of the tooling and offset correctly to the set cut depth. Check out. lnkd.in/gXPcQ2zV

More IOLink fun. This time with a sensor that detects reflectivity in addition to distance. This could come in very handy in conveyor and packaging applications. Changing bright/dark setpoints or near/far setpoints to turn those outputs on is all handled quickly over IOLink.

I totally understand the getting away from AB pricing. But, I can get a 12" Weintek for less than $900 and I can talk to any PLC I want. But, the AB integration is so simple hence the reason we switch (with customer approval). BTW the OnLogic screens look sleek. That is actually what we are using for this project. Not Edge though. Maybe I need to look more into that I haven't really looked at all.

I actually like them. I have used their HMIs in the past and liked them for most "simple" applications. They have a ton of very useful options, and their driver support is excellent. Yes, I have done a few from scratch. For instance, the program for the scenario I listed in this post has about 19 screens with anything from trends to recipe management. Took me a couple weeks (I am the only controls engineer at my plant, so I couldn't work on it all day every day lol)

I require remote access to my projects that are away from home. I did some homework and decided that Weintek looked to have a good solution. Set up my first Weintek touch screen yesterday. I set up a domain on Weincloud - free. A secure VPN connection. I had purchased a remote access card when I purchased the screen - about $90 AUD. I set up the screen with appropriate IP addresses - modem was connected complete with an inexpensive data only SIM card - entered modem IP address as appropriate - rebooted the touch screen and clicked add screen on the cloud interface. I added the hardware number of the screen and the serial number on the access card and viola - I was connected to the screen via EasyAccess software and Weintek CMT viewer. Operating switches and the like. The hardware number and access card number are locked together. My PLC was connected to the second Ethernet port on the touch screen and my laptop was connected to the PLC as well through a switch and I was online to the PLC. I clicked on 'pass through' on the cloud connection - added the IP address of the PLC - the software noted that there already was a connection to the PLC (my laptop) - said it would be disconnected - clicked OK - my laptop Ethernet connectiion was disconnected and was then connected through the modem/cloud connection - absolutely seamless. I think back to how I used to have to connect with expensive Extranet cards - having to use a DNS server to find out the public IP address or have an expensive VPN account and program the modem mystery bag - do routing tables in the PLC software - painfull. Very impressed and the screens are not expensive - graphics pretty good as well - a heap of drivers for just about any PLC brand. I did not have to do any programming in the modem either - its default IP address was out of the way of everything so no need. In this case I used a Teleorigin modem but guess that probably any brand would do. Many have a default IP address of 192.168.1.1 which is inconvenient as that is the default address of most routers as well so the IP address would need to be changed before connecting to anything. Now on to discovering about the email feature from the screen through Weincloud using a SMTP mail server. Then on to push messages to mobiles with EasyAccess running on them. My customer will also have access to the screen from mobile phones and computers using the EasyAccess app - everyone is happy. Next one will be setup next week - will have to put together a detailed instruction sheet for my colleagues. Red Lion have a solution of course but it is so expensive and does not appear to have all the features Weintek does have.

I've been using them for quite some time. The graphics are pretty good. The drivers are the big plus. Modbus is straight forward for CoDeSys (Wago & stuff). They also offer their own CoDeSys I/O and such (you need to pick the right unit for it though). I even used them for some old SLC replacements serial & Ethernet, beats PV!! And yes, Maple has a great support team if you need it. Weintek as well as Maple have their own YouTube channels. You'll find pretty much everything on there as far as setting up a unit.

One of the biggest factors holding entry level techs and engineers back in this career, is the license fees. Its CRAZY, if they want to grow they will have to change, and Weintek is on the right track with this software. As a matter of fact eventually they will have to change or face huge financial loss because of it. Keep it up Weintek.

Progress is coming along well on developing a controls library of Codesys code with corresponding HMI graphics. I'm keeping it all very basic for now but the way this is being developed leaves it easy to scale up for adding more features for device control. With Codesys and Easy Builder Pro both being a free software download, no worrying about expensive software contracts to troubleshoot code or make modifications. These HMIs can run Codesys, so there's no need for an extra piece of hardware as a PLC. Over the next few months I will be demonstrating more devices as I develop them, state machine and sequencer control of automation, and recipe integration. Weintek USA, Inc. CODESYS North America

These HMIs can run Codesys, so there's no need for an extra piece of hardware as a PLC. Over the next few months I will be demonstrating more devices as I develop them, state machine and sequencer control of automation, and recipe integration. Weintek USA, Inc. CODESYS North America

Diedrich Roasters use Weintek USA, Inc. Human Machine Interfaces making this a family affair. Diedrich is my family and Weintek is now Nikki Gonzales family. Diedrich Roasters is an American Company dedicated to service and quality. They are incredibly people centric. I don't see that anymore where the dignity of the employees is just as important as the service to the customer...but it's still alive in pockets if you look hard enough.

We've trusted Weintek for many years — and confidently recommend it to our clients. That’s why this announcement from Weintek isn’t just great news for us — it's a win for everyone seeking a simpler, faster, and more reliable industrial control solution. Weintek CODESYS SoftPLC now supports Profinet IO Master! Profinet is currently the most popular industrial communication protocol in the world, leading the Ethernet-based market with a 23% share. With this update, Weintek joins the ranks of fully integrated, high-performance solutions for modern automation. What does this mean in practice? A single HMI + PLC platform that reduces the need for additional controllers or gateways. Seamless integration with Profinet IO devices. Real-time, deterministic communication — all within CODESYS. I would go mits with the weintek. I would prefer rockwell myself for the PLC. Mitsubishi is not like rockwell meaning you will need to get used to it but I would prefer it over siemens. The software should be cheaper. The whole suite of mitsubishi software PLC and HMI Is like $500. If you have a distributor near you they should support you. You should require the software to be open to you after buyoff.

I've only programmed a Mitsubishi PLC one time and it was a long time ago. At that time, the user interface was absolutely horrid. Hopefully they've improved since then. As for Weintek, I'm really a fan of what they're doing. I've got 2 Weintek HMIs here in my lab. One with Codesys. Is Codesys not an option for the PLC code? That's way easier to access and modify as it's a free download. Weinteks HMI software is also free. They make HMIs that run Codesys for just a $99 activation cost. So you don't need an extra piece of hardware for a PLC. It all lives on the HMI. If you've got questions about the Codesys and Weintek option feel free to message me.

I can speak to every hardware you mentioned. Mitsubishi is a good plc and their drives are nice. Siemens is a fully integrated hardware stack. But dollar for dollar the best option is the weintek panel with codesys.

Mitsu isn't fit to carry Siemens' briefcase. On the HMI side, I'd take Weintek over Siemens. Siemens' strong point is PLCs and drives.

I just had an introductory call for a new partnership and here is why they reached out to us: ā€œEvery time we’re at a trade show, doesn’t matter where in the US, someone has a Weintek HMI and they do nothing but rave about it.ā€ It is such a pleasure representing a brand that carries this type of reputation - and I 100% believe you can't pay for this or market your way into it.

Interesting! but I think that with a HMI Gateway, like CMT-3092x of Weintek USA, Inc. you can simplify the system architecture. Don't need node-red, don't need opc-ua. You can connect to the machine using 300 protocols available in CMT, next you can publish your variables in mqtt broker in one step.

Yup. I will quite and use weintek, unless someone requests another HMI type.

Agreed: High quality reliable products at great prices, but equally important is GREAT support, especially with those obscure "head-scratcher" issues that come up occasionally in complex projects. I'm sticking with Weintek!

We use Weintek HMIs along Omron PLCs, but I think that for some applications which only use modbus TCP/RT and calculations, would be enough with just the HMI.

I'd recommend Weintek as you can activate a codesys powered PLC within their HMI, I'm currently programming it to communicate with a modbus TCP IO card

I've used the cMT-3072 for a couple of simple project for remote control. They have a free VPN you can use. As long as the HMI has a connection to the Internet, you can log into the screen with the iPhone app or your PC.

cMT3092x: I have been eyeing this model since this summer(it is a newer model and from the videos online it looks really good), but haven't gotten a project yet that needs it. Right now I'm using a Weintek MT8050iE with a CLICK PLC and I'm thoroughly impressed. Given the price you pay and the options you have, I think it is leagues ahead of the competition. With that being said, the HMI programming software Easybuilder Pro has a little bit of a learning curve. If you spend a little bit of time watching a couple of Youtube videos you should be up and going in no time.

I have used their advanced series HMI which has a Codesys runtime on it before. It worked just fine, though the customer required LD and I am not a fan of the Codesys LD editor. I have also used a ton of their iR series remote I/O racks. They are one of my go-to solutions when I need to add I/O to a Modbus or EIP PLC.

I use the MT8xxxie series all the time and communicate with multiple PLCs over Ethernet at the same time. I have one 15ā€ HMI pulling from AB and Mitsubishi at the same time so I can check on machines. I also have another that acts like a go between for a modbus power monitor and an AB PLC. Edit to add: I was very sceptical about Weintek when I first used one - a guy I know that runs another plant told me about them. I’ve had one of their HMIs running for about 4 years now, no problems at all. I now have several running 24/7 364 and I can’t say I’ve ever really had an issue with them. They are easier to work on than our PanelView HMIs (far better software IMO), so as our panel views get damaged I replace them with Weintek.

I am a HUGE proponent of Weintek and EBPro. The software is far better than any AB's HMI software, and the capability is far better than any of AB's capabilities. Also, I'll roll in my minimum amount of knowledge with Unitronics.

Wow I love it already. We got a new machine with an HMI no ones heard of (weintek) and I immediately cringed because I assumed it would be another license expenditure.

What the... we currently are using weintek with Siemens s7-1500 Easy builder pro 6.10.01.217 and up imports everything automatically with one click also we also use it to pass info from Siemens to Allen Bradley PLC PS as you can suggest we usually use only Allen Bradley with weintek combo it's waaaaaaaaay better then anything with the label Siemens on it

If you need extreme cold, already considering Weintek and need 7", they just released a low temp version. cMT3072XHTL. A pi based HMI will be about half the cost, but if durability and low-temp operability are required, the price of it isn't bad and it can use the web browser object in EBPro. You won't find much for industrial touch screens with large temp ratings and enough brains to host a web page that will be less than $500.

okay, If anyone stumble across this looking for similar requirement. Here is the option I'm going forward with: Weintek cMT3072X2, it is the only viable and cheap option for this requirement. The HMI supports HTML5 and PLC web browser object (these 2 are necessary for hosting any website). Note: not all cMT series from Weintek support web browser, only the advanced versions do.
